New Years Eve Outfit Wish List!

Posted on December 31, 2013

Hi Guys!

I still don’t know if I’m doing anything tonight for New Year’s Eve, and I’ve also come down with a bad throat again, so it’ll probably be another night in for me! Whilst browsing the sales I came across some gorgeous bits and pieces – not necessarily on sale – so I thought I’d put together a wish list of my perfect New Year’s Eve outfit!

I’ve been coveting Muubaa Leather Jackets for a looong time now, they look so soft and the styles and colours are to die for! Unfortunately Santa didn’t bring me one this year (maybe I was naughty?) so I’ll have to save up myself! As well as that, I’m in love with this metallic velvet dress from Topshop, it reminds me of mermaids! I also love these simple black Brantano shoes, you can wear them with everything!

Are you going out tonight? I’d love to hear what you’ll be wearing!

Blogging for Beginners Series – How Do I…?

Posted on December 30, 2013

Hi Guys!

I’ve put a shout out on Twitter to see if anyone is interested in contributing to a new blog series I want to start. I’ve just realised I’ve had nearly 40 people show interest so rather than email everyone individually I thought I’d explain everything here!

So basically I want to create a series of blog posts, each focussing on a different subject to help beginners. I’ve been blogging for nearly a year now, and I am by no means an expert, but I think I can offer some help and advice to newer bloggers. Nobody knows it all, so I’m hoping by gathering advice from a large spectrum of different bloggers, I can put together a fantastic mix of handy hints, tips and advice to help others. My primary aim will be towards beauty, fashion and lifestyle bloggers but I’d like the advice to be universal really.

I don’t want the blog posts to be too complicated, just easy to read and understand, for newbies and more experienced bloggers alike.

The series will be called -Blogging for Beginners – How Do I…?

I like the idea of having each blog post as a question somebody would ask. These are the questions I’ve thought of so far and some have been suggested –

1. How do I get people to read and follow my blog?

2. How do I take good photos?

3. How do I share my blog posts?

4. How do I connect with bloggers, companies and brands?

5. How do I get sent products for review?

6. How do I write a successful review?

7. What is a sponsored post and how do I write one?

8. How do I make money from my blog?

9. What is SEO and how do I use it?

10. How do I run a competition or giveaway?

11. How do I find out about blogger events?

12. How do I deal with negativity about my blog?

13. How do I create a good blog design?

(UPDATE! I’ve put a strike through through the posts that have bloggers assigned to them, everything else is up for grabs!)

I think these are all quite common questions. If you can think of any more please let me know! Nothing is set in stone at the moment so please feel free to recommend any changes!

I would like to add everyone’s comments with a picture of the blogger and a link to their blog. When each post goes live I’ll tweet using hashtag #BloggingQandA so it will be easy for people to recognise the posts. I’d like to start this by mid January with one post a week on Sundays.

Ok I think that’s it for now! So if you’re a blogger with questions you’d like answering, or a blogger with advice to offer, please leave me a comment or drop me an email at tsncblog@hotmail.co.uk

I look forward to hearing from you! xxx

UPDATE! Ok so I wasn’t entirely sure how this was going to pan out, so thought I should give you all an update. I have some people that are interested in writing a whole guest post, and some that just want to write a few paragraphs. I also have more than one person interested in writing some of the same posts (if that makes sense). What I’m going to do is ask everyone to write exactly what they want to, then if I need to I will combine different bloggers posts into one to cover each subject. All posts will be credited to each blogger involved and I’ll include blog links too. I’m also happy for people to contribute after posts go live, if they think of something or have a handy tip that’s been missed, I’ll happily add it on and credit the blogger, I hope that all makes sense! xx

Check Out My Amazing Statement Earrings!

Hi Guys

Today I wanted to show you my stunning Lola vintage style statement earrings from Vintage Styler! I was originally going to wear them to my work Christmas party with a Goddiva black draping maxi dress, for a proper red carpet look, but unfortunately due to a bad case of tonsillitis I had to miss the party 🙁

So here are the earrings – they are absolutely gorgeous! They feature a ton of sparkly crystals on an antique bronze coloured setting, with pretty lilac coloured enamel statement stones.

I’m gutted I couldn’t wear these to the party, hopefully another event will come up soon and I’ll be able to show them off! 🙂

Vintage Styler sell many more gorgeous vintage inspired pieces, and they have a sale on at the moment, yippeee!

Are you a fan of statement jewellery?

I hope you enjoyed my post 🙂 xxx

Voodoo Vixen Pin Up Dress OOTD

Posted on December 29, 2013

Hi Guys!

Today’s outfit was actually supposed to be my Boxing Day outfit, but due to some pretty intense family illnesses unfortunately it didn’t happen as I just didn’t have time, so I thought I’d wear it today instead now everyone’s better! 🙂

voodoo vixen dress

I’m wearing the black Doreen dress by Voodoo vixen, I absolutely love it! It’s made of heavyweight jersey so it hangs beautifully, and has pretty piping detail on the chest with rose shaped buttons (sorry it’s a bit creased, I didn’t realise this at the time!)

pinup makeup

I teamed it with my favourite Tantalise wig from Hothair, and my favourite red lipstick, which is the NARS velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl.

Did you wear any special outfits this Christmas? I’d love to hear if you did!

I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx

Maybelline Master Kajal Khol Eyeliner in Lapis Blue Review

Posted on December 28, 2013

Hi Guys!

Well I hate to do it, but I’m afraid I have quite a negative review for you today 🙁

As soon as I saw the Maybelline Master Kajal Kohl Liner advertised on TV I knew I had to have it – I’m a big fan of blue eyeliner and when I saw the model with her intense deep blue liner, I was sold!

So off I rushed to Boots yesterday to purchase it in Lapis Blue, as well as the Black version and a lipstick too, as it was buy two items get a third free 🙂

maybelline master kajal review

I must say I was quite intrigued by the kajal style of this eyeliner, I’ve never used one before as I’ve always previously used pencils. I couldn’t quite figure out how it worked at first, as there’s just one long point and the product does not twist up either. The side of the casing says ‘use sideways – no sharpener needed’ I have no idea how difficult of easy this will be to use, but I guess I’ll find out as the product wears down!

maybelline eyeliner review

When I swatched on my hand, the tip broke off. I was quite disappointed with the pigmentation too but thought the end breaking off may actually be a good sign as it shows the product is soft, which usually indicates a good eyeliner.

When I actually tried the liner on my eyes, I was so disappointed. The product was no where near as soft as expected, it was actually quite hard to use and dragged my skin. As well as that the depth of colour was terrible, I was really surprised how hard it was to get the colour to show up. I went over at least three times and the depth of colour was still a complete let down.

I still have the black kajal to try out, but I’m not getting my hopes up. If you compare the Maybelline advert at the top of this post to my photo above, it almost makes me think Maybelline is committing false advertising!! This product is not at all like what you see in the advertisement. I’ll stick to my Bourjois Clubbing Eyeliner in future! What do you think?

I’d love to hear if you’ve tried this product? xxx

Christmas Day 2013

Posted on December 27, 2013

Hi Guys!

I can’t believe Christmas is over already! Not quite back to normality yet though, I love this time between Christmas and New Year – lots of eating and drinking, watching films on TV and seeing friends and family. Christmas day was lovely though, we spent the day with my parents and Ollie’s dad, we all gave and received some lovely gifts (and I’m now the proud owner of a Minnie Mouse onesie!). What really made my day though was seeing Freddy’s little face light up when he saw his new big boy bike and new toys from Father Christmas. It was lovely watching him trying to ride his new bike and playing with his new toys 🙂

Winter Accessories Wish List

Posted on December 24, 2013

Hi Guys!

Now the weather has suddenly got really cold, and crazy windy, I’ve only just realised I’m really not prepared for bad weather! I have a new coat and that’s about it! I’ve been hunting around the internet for some awesome accessories that will keep me warm as well as look good and came across Craigdon Mountain Sports who sell loads of outdoor gear, and some pretty cool accessories too –

winter accessories wishlist

Clockwise from top left –

  • Burton Nana Beanie £21.60
  • Barts Alaska Inka Hat £27.99

  • Ice Mountain Zhead Beanie £12.99
  • Barts Womens Crunch Beanie £13.59

I think the hi vis gloves are a great idea when you’re walking around in the dark. As a driver I often wonder if people have a death wish that wear all black outside at night time! I think these beanie hats are gorgeous too, colourful and fun!

Have you stocked up on winter accessories? I’d love to hear what you’ve bought or have your eye on?

I hope you have a lovely Christmas and I’ll be back at the end of the week! 🙂 xxx
