Wonderland Wigs Cassy Red Wig Review

Posted on July 30, 2013

Hi Guys!

Last week the lovely ladies at Wonderland Wigs asked me to choose a wig or hair piece to review. I thought I’d go for something different to what I’d usually wear and chose the Cassy wig, which is a lovely deep red colour. I’ve never had red hair before! The Cassy wig is in a long layered style with a separated fringe and razor cut edges.

When it arrived I was surprised how impressed I was with the quality. I have worn many wigs varing in price and quality, and considering the price of this wig is at the lower end of the scale (£24.99) it is fabulously thick, and better quality than some of the more expensive wigs I’ve tried in the past! The hair is already styled, so you don’t need to worry about styling it yourself and you can also adjust the inside cap easily for a snug fit.

So this is what it looked like on! I love it!

I’d love to hear if there are any other bloggers out there that wear wigs?

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Hi Guys!

I’ve just seen this collection on the Topshop site and had to share it!

The new Sarah Angold for Freedom limited edition jewellery collection so up my street.  I would describe it as a melting pot of graphic shapes and modern materials with art deco styling. I love the strong shapes and colours (especially the earrings bottom right of the picture)

And with a price range between £30 and £60 you can snap up a stunning designer piece without breaking the bank!

Xen Tan Luminous Gold Gel Fake Tan Review

Posted on July 28, 2013

Hi Guys!

This week I’ve been trialling *Xen Tan Luminous Gold Gel from John and Ginger. I love a nice tan in the summer, I work in an office though so I always fake it. If you’re looking for a new fake tan product this summer hopefully you will find this review useful!

So here is some info on the product – The Xen Tan Luminous Gold Gel is ‘a revolutionary Magic Tan – apply this clear, silky tanning gel and see your tan develop into a deep golden colour within 3 hours. Skin is left intensely moisturised with a luminous sparkly finish thanks to flecks of gold shimmer that sit on the skin. Xen-Tan’s fastest drying, longest lasting formula yet and with no guide colour means you can slip into your little black (or white) dress instantly. With a simply amazing colour, Luminous Gold is one of the best products yet.’

‘How to apply: For best results, apply Xen-Tan Luminous Gold Gel with a Xen-Tan Luxury Tanning Mitt. Apply to clean dry skin and for best results, exfoliate prior to tanning with Xen-Tan Body Scrub.’

  • First clear self-tan gel with fastest drying formula yet
  • Deep golden colour for a truly WOW tan
  • Non-sticky, silky formula is so easy to apply
  • Iridescent sparkle gives skin a dewy finish
  • Longest-lasting weekly tan in the range
  • Light tropical scent smells amazing
  • Paraben-free – ideal for face and body
  • Suitable for all skins types’

Xen Tan Luminous Gold Gel Review

So it all sounds pretty good hey! The only hesitation I had was the sparkle. I did have a slight concern that I would end up looking like a disco ball! – How wrong I was!

The Application… To start with, I applied the gel with my hands (rather than a mitt, as I don’t have one) and I was really surprised how quickly it dried! I was ready with the electric fan but didn’t need it at all! Also the smell is lovely, kind of tropical with a hint of coconut, and only the vaguest fake tan scent. The gel is clear, so you need to make sure you rub it in well and evenly, as it’s hard to tell where you’ve already applied except for seeing a bit of sparkle.

The packaging said the tan would develop over three hours, I think it actually took a bit longer for me as I applied around 8.30pm and didn’t notice a difference that night, I actually thought it hadn’t worked at first, I then woke up the next day and was like ‘WOW I’M BROWN!’ There was a hint of sparkle but it actually looked really nice! Here is a close up of my arm – (you will notice I’ve hidden my thumb… this is because I accidentally got it wet, so the tan went streaky – oops)

Xen Tan Review

The Results… The tan came out really nice and even except for my thumbs! I think this was when I was eating an apple and some juice dripped on my hands so I wiped them without thinking. If you check out my latest OOTD post here you can see the rest of me with a lovely golden tan! I have to say I’m so happy with the colour, it’s really natural and healthy looking. I have pale skin so it’s always a worry that I’m going to look too dark! I actually had people commenting at work saying I look well and asking where I’ve been out in the sun! Woo hoo!

I’d love to hear what tanning products you use? xxx

Willow & Clo Sound Waves Collection Competition!

Posted on

Contemporary jewellers Willow and Clo have just launched a fantastic new range of jewellery called the Soundwave Collection. I love the idea of having an image of a soundwave etched on to a piece of jewellery, with the etching itself holding a secret message or special words that only the wear knows, this is such a lovely concept!

One of my favourite items from the collection is the Shoot for the Moon necklace (top middle image below) It’s a beautiful necklace in itself but also holds the soundwave saying: “Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you will land amongst the Stars”. How pretty is that!

You can see most of the collection in my mood board below. I’ve also included some of my favourite quotes and inspirational words for my competition entry. ‘Dance like nobody’s watching’ is definitely my favourite quote 🙂 I love this quote literally and metaphorically.

Shourouk – Where Jewellery and Purses Collide!

Posted on July 25, 2013

Hi Guys!

Lately I’ve been coveting EVERYTHING Shourouk creates, their jewellery is simply to die for! And now I’ve finally got my mitts on this amazing Crystal Embellished PVC Clutch!

You may remember my previous post featuring Shourouk, I can’t get enough of it – the jewels, the rainbow neon colours, it takes the phrase ‘statement jewellery’ to another level and just offers everything I want from a piece of jewellery. You really should check out Charm and Chain and Net-a-Porter for their pieces, the prices may be on the steep side but they do sell the most fabulous pieces!

Snapshots From My Home

Posted on July 24, 2013

Hi Guys!

Today I thought I’d share snapshots of some of my favourite things in my home!

To start with, I adore this George Nelson Multicolour Sunburst Clock from Lakeland Furniture, I also have the Eames Style DSW White Dining Chairs in my kitchen! I love the clean and simple style of modernist design.

George Nelson Sunburst Clock

My Mr Scruff Limited Edition Print takes pride of place in the living room, I love Mr Scruff, the Keep It Unreal album reminds me of my days at Art School 🙂 I bought this as a present for our flat when me and Ollie first moved in together about six years ago.

Mr Scruff Framed Print

Ikea curtains. I love these curtains! I literally couldn’t find any that I liked ANYWHERE. I could find no curtains with the awesomeness level that I required. Then I took my first trip to Ikea :)The fabric at Ikea is so cheap, and they have the most amazing prints. I just bought some lining fabric and my mum made all the curtains in my house! Yay! I also have some awesome multicoloured stripe ones!

Ikea Coloured Curtains

These black and white ones kind of remind me of under sea creatures 🙂

Ikea Black and White Curtains

Ceramic Rabbit Lamp. How cool is this! I won it in a competition on Facebook a couple of years ago, and it’s massive! I don’t remember where it was from though I’m afraid!

Picture of Ollie and Fred. One of my favourite instagrams I printed out 🙂

Love picture from Rockett St George.

Knappa Artichoke lampshade from Ikea. This came flat packed, all the ‘petals’ were flat pieces of plastic and I had to put it together. It took forever but it was worth it!

Ikea Artichoke Light Shade

Printed rug from Urban Outfitters.

Pink velvet and ‘Concetta’ print cushions from Habitat.

So there you have it! As you can see I love bright colours and patterns! I still have a lot more pictures to put up but I’m having trouble committing to where to put them!

I hope this gives you a better idea of my style – I’d love to hear what your favourite things are in your home? xxx
