Today I have the most gorgeous piece of jewellery to share with you! Have you heard of Violet Darkling? If not you neeeeeeed to check out their site, they sell the most amazing and unusual jewellery!
Here’s a bit more about the company –
Violet Darkling is the alter ego of New Zealand born designer Louisa Richwhite. Inspired by the ‘darkness’ and all things nocturnal, teamed with her outdoor roots and quirky humour, Violet Darkling reflects a desire to make life just a little more magical.
Violet Darkling’s unique collection of jewellery is sculptured in silver and gold and dripping with semi-precious stones. These distinctive pieces are a collector’s item and true statements of quality and originality. Richwhite’s ability to transport us back to our childhood is developed through her distinctive collection, where she reminds us of the fears, the magic, our fascination with ‘Things of the Night’.
Ok so firstly, before I tell you about the jewellery – what the heck is a loris?? I wasn’t entirely sure myself so thought I’d do a bit of research! The loris is a nocturnal animal found in the tropical and woodland forests of India, Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia, they are slow and cautious creatures that also produce a poisionous toxin from their elbows! A loris, is also the animal that Rihanna was controversially photographed with a couple of moths ago in Thailand, controversial because the use of the slow loris and other protected species for tourist photos in Thailand is officially illegal.
My Hypnotic Loris ring arrived in a high quality purple silk lined jewellery box, and the ring itself was presented in the cutest tiny velvet pouch. The ring is silver plated with purple amethyst eyes.
I’m so in love with this ring! It’s so dainty and cute, which is great for me as I have short fingers so can’t wear big chunky rings. It’s also handy being slim as it can be stacked with other rings.
This ring is also available in yellow gold, rose gold and black rhodium, each with different semi-precious gemstone eyes. There are also more amazing loris rings available that are more detailed, as well as necklaces and bracelets too.
There are so many gorgeous and unusual pieces on the site, this Tarsier necklace is definitely going on my christmas list!
I’d love to hear what you think of my ring? I hope you enjoyed my post 🙂 xxx
