Yours Truly Organics Review & Giveaway!

Posted on April 30, 2014

Hi Guys!

Today I have a review and a giveaway of some fab new products from Yours Truly Organics!

You may not have heard of Yours Truly Organics as they are a brand new company offering skincare solutions designed specifically for spot-prone skin. If you suffer with acne, you need to check these products out!

Currently, Yours Truly Organics offer four products – which are also cruelty free. There’s a cleanser, toner, serum and moisturiser / balm. Created by Kelita Bignall, the aim of the range is to provide you with the tools to combat and improve acne-prone skin. Kelita suffered herself with acne and started learning to make her own range after prescription strength remedies let her down. She educated herself on the science of the skin and attending courses on how to create skincare products.

‘It was during this time that I thought to myself, why not use all of the things I have learnt about skincare and create a line of organic skin care products that actually affect change in the skin rather than just being free from X,Y and Z. And thus Yours Truly Organics was created. Every last drop of every product is representative of the struggles I have had with my skin and how badly it affected my self-esteem.’ The philosophy at Yours Truly Organics is that beautiful skin is achievable using ingredients that are in the best interest of your health.

The Fragrance Shop Discovery Club

the fragrance shop discovery club

Hi Guys!

I was recently asked the review The Fragrance Shop’s Discovery Box – I’d never heard of this before so was really excited to find out more as I’m a complete perfume fanatic and I love discovering new fragrances!

The Discovery Club is a quarterly subscription costing only £5 per box. In each box you will receive five perfume samples and money off vouchers for each fragrance too! Also, it’s handy to know you can cancel your subscription at any time.

This special edition box included seven samples (5 female and 2 male) for me to try. I received –

  • Guerlain – La Petite Robe Noire Couture
  • Givenchy – Very Irrésistible L’eau En Rose
  • Lacoste – Eau De Lacoste Sensuelle
  • Thierry Mugler – Alien Eau Extraordinaire
  • Elie Saab – L’eau Couture
  • Valentino – Uomo
  • Loewe – Solo Loewe Sport

My favourite is definitely Givenchy Very Irrésistible!

I’m a bit on the fence about this box to be honest – on one hand I kind of question is it really worth it, as these samples are usually available for free at perfume counters, but if you don’t live near any department or beauty stores (like me) it is a pretty handy way of trying out the latest perfumes from the comfort of your own home. And at only £5 a quarter it’s not exactly going to break the bank!

Let me know what you think! Is this box a good idea?? xxx

Samsung S5 & Case-Mate Brilliance Champagne Case!

case mate brilliance phone case

Hey Guys!

Just look at my amazing new phone case! (And I also have a new phone!) I’ve just upgraded to a Samsung S5, after much deliberation and reading up online I decided this was overall a better phone than the iPhone 5S. So my mahoosive new Samsung arrived and I realised I needed a new case for it. My old case was just a faux leather black flip jobby for my Samsung S2, it was a bit boring and it wouldn’t fit my new phone anyway. So I ended up hunting all over the internet for a new case – I wasn’t really sure what I was looking for either which didn’t help!

I was leaning towards a gold or rose-gold colour but wasn’t overly keen on the ones I saw. Until I stumbled upon the Case-Mate Brilliance Champagne Case – as soon as I saw it I knew it was the one!! The back of the case is covered in tiny champagne and clear coloured crystals, which gives an awesome 3D effect!

I should tell you a bit about the S5 too really, it comes with loads of nifty features including a finger print scanner to unlock the phone (which can also be used for Paypal payments) it has a heart rate sensor on the back and fitness app already on the phone. The camera is a massive 16mp with HDR (Rich tone) for brighter and vivid pictures, and fast auto focus and selective focus. The phone is also dust and water resistant which is really handy!

So there it is! I’m so pleased with my case! I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Atomic

Posted on April 27, 2014

mua luxe velvet

Hi Guys!

If you follow me on Twitter you may have heared me mention the other day about MUA’s Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer, I’ve just discovered it and I love it!!

MUA atomic review

The Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer is an intensely pigmented lip product that gives a gorgeous ‘velvet’ matte finish. The Lacquer itself is an interesting consistency; it’s not gloopy like a gloss, it’s quite stiff and thick which I imagine is due to the high pigmentation content. Don’t let this put you off though, it’s still creamy and easy to apply. It dries really quicky to a fabulous matte finish that literally lasts all day!

mua lip lacquer review

This Lacquer I have is in ‘Atomic’ – which is an amazingly bright and vibrant tomato orange – red. Just look at this colour!!! I completely love it! I think it will look great with a tan in the summer too! The MUA Luxe Lacquers are a great dupe for Limecrime’s Velvetines – even the packaging is similar! The difference is definitely in the formula though, with MUA’s product being a lot thicker. The only downside to the Luxe Lacquer is it was slightly sticky on my lips. The product itself stuck to my lips like glue, and it didn’t budge. It took a lot of rubbing to remove in fact! The stickiness was felt when I put my lips together if that makes sense. This was only minimal though, and for only £3 a pop I’d definitely recommend the Luxe Lacquers! I can’t wait to try some more colours!

If you love this colour but would prefer a different finish, you should definitely check out this amazing Neon Red Maybelline lippy as a great alternative with a cream finish 🙂

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Tanya Burr Lip Gloss Review

Hi Guys!

I’m so excited to have my hands on Vampire Kiss and Afternoon Tea – which are a couple of gorgeous lip glosses from Tanya Burr’s new range! Vampire Kiss is a deep red with a creamy and fairly opaque finish and Afternoon Tea is a sheer pink with shimmering sparkles.

If you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t heard of Tanya Burr, (seriously, where have you been?) she is a fabulous blogger slash you tuber, and definitely one of the most famous beauty bloggers in the country! She rose to fame buy showing us mere mortals how to apply our makeup and what products we should be using via her youtube vids. She does hold a special spot in my heart too, as she’s a local girl from my neck of the woods (Norwich in case you don’t know) 🙂 I have to say the girl has done well! Apart from being crazy uber famous, she now has her own range of lip glosses and nail polishes in Superdrug stores! The glosses are £6.99 and the nail polishes are £5.99, which are very reasonable prices too.

Unfortunately I haven’t nabbed myself any polishes yet, but I do have two lovely glosses to show you! Vampire Kiss is a deep red with a fairly opaque finish and Afternoon Tea is a sheer pink with a hint of sparkle. There are a total of 12 glosses in the collection, which have both cream and sparkle finishes, so there’s something to suit everyone!

You can see Vampire Kiss is a gorgeous mid red with great pigmentation, it’s not too deep a colour or intense, making it a fab wearable red. And Afternoon Tea is so pretty with it’s sheer pink colour and a hint of sparkle. this can be worn alone or on top of other lipsticks to add a different finish.

The gloss itself is a fabulous formula, it’s not sticky at all and it glides on like a dream! I would even go so far as to say these are some of the best glosses I’ve used! It lasts a good couple of hours too, which is fantastic, I’d definitely recommend you check these products out!

I’d love to hear if you’ve tried any of Tanys Burrs range? I hope you enjoyed my review xxx
