A Summer Look with La Prairie and YSL
20 June, 2014Hi Guys!
I’ve put together a quick and easy summer look today using some fab products kindly sent to me from Click Fragrance. I have the La Prairie Cellular Treatment Bronzing Powder and Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat which I will be using to create a bronzed summery look!
The La Prairie Cellular Treatment Bronzing Powder is an outstanding combination of colour and care. It gives your complexion a golden glow, or enhances a natural tan, while pampering and protecting your skin.
On first glance this product is stunning, I opened the box to find a dark blue velvet pouch embossed with the La Prairie logo, inside was the silver mirror finish compact. It doesn’t get more luxury than that!
The bronzing powder is an intense warm deep gold, with a high shimmer finish. I thought it might be too dark for my fair skin tone but when I tried it I absolutely loved it! The powder is finely milled and easily buildable.
Described as a magic pen brush by its creators, YSL Touche Eclat blends with the skin to diffuse light under the eye creating a sense of radiance. Ideal for touch ups, this concealer blends into makeup already on the face and is ideal for banishing under eye shadows and hiding signs of fatigue around the mouth and nose area. Touche Eclat is a top end product at a stunning price and shade No.1 is pale pink for fair to light olive skin. The iconic gold case slips easily into any bag or pocket so you’re always at your best wherever you go. Touche Eclat is suitable for all skin types.
The Yves Saint Laurent Touch Eclat is an old favourite of mine, it’s an excellent tool to cover up any unwanted blemishes or under eye dark circles. I went for the lightest shade – 01, with the idea that I would use it as a concealer and highlighter.
So here goes my look! 😀
I started off with a light to medium coverage BB cream base – I want this look to give a natural glowing finish so a heavy coverage base is not what I wanted. I used my Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette on the eyes and my new favourite eyeliner, the Maybelline Master Precision Eyeliner Pen. I finished the eyes with Benefit They’re Real Mascara.
I then applied the Touche Eclat to brighten under the eye area, down the bridge of the nose and in the centre of my forehead. The Touche Eclat does not give a fully opaque finish, which is actually not a bad thing as you can easily blend it into the skin and this also works well for me as I want this look to be quite natural rather than highly contoured. The bronzer was applied around the hairline, under the cheekbones, down the sides of the nose, and lightly dusted over the face, chest and shoulders. You can probably see I like to add bronzer down the sides of my nose to help it appear slimmer! I also added a bit under my nose, under my chin and along the jaw line. I have a long face so this helps to make it appear shorter.
On the lips I used MAC Pedro Lourenco Lipstick in Peach Beige and Gold Mirror lipgloss (from the same collection) on top. These are such gorgeous nude colours!
Oh and also I threw one of my favourite wigs on, from Hothair!
And then I just blended the bronzer in and ta da! Here is my finished look, wink wink! What do you think?
I’d love to hear which bronzers and highlighters you use?
I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx
