The White Company Norwich Store Opening Event!

Hi Guys!

On Wednesday night I had the pleasure of attending the opening event for The White Company’s brand new store in Norwich. I’d never been to one of their stores before so I had no idea what to expect, their website is gorgeous though so I knew I was going to be in for a treat! I took a friend along and as soon as we walked in we’re greeted with bubbly and canapés, and the shop had a lovely ‘new home’ scent. The White Company Norwich offers a large selection of high end homewares, clothing and home accessories over two floors – I was also told this is a brand new concept store for TWC, so this store is the first of it’s kind in the country!

As soon as we entered, I was instantly attracted to the candle and scent section! On the picture above you can see the lovely candles are housed in glass domes – you pick the domes up and sniff inside them to try the candles, the domes hold the scents amazingly well!

It was also great to hear that their candles are made in the same factory as Jo Malone – the whole company reminds me of Jo Malone actually; everything is of the highest quality, luxurious yet understated, and comes gorgeously packaged too.

There was a section in the corner next to the candles for soaps and lotions, I love that they’ve included a sink so you can easily try products out and wash your hands! The layout of the whole store is so open, everything is on display wanting to be touched and tried!

The White Company also have their own mini perfume range, with Day and Night being their newest offerings. Day was a a lovely fresh scent and Night was a gorgeous heavier evening scent.

We wandered upstairs to take a look at the bedding and children’s sections, to be greeted by an amazing string quartet! (I must admit when I heard the music downstairs I thought it was a CD, ha ha!) I have a feeling this may not be a fixture though!

There’s no doubt that The White company have taken time to plan the interior down to the finest detail. Dotted all over the store you can find amazing lit and animated projections – such a the text ‘Sweet Dreams are Made of This’ on a pillow, and an animated circus scene on a poster next to a child’s bed.

So this store really is pretty amazing! And I had such a lovely time! I purchased a Pomegranate home candle and the sweetest ‘Bella’ bunny comforter for my friend who has just had a little girl, I couldn’t resist! The White Company also kindly sent me home with a lovely goody bag, including a shower gel and soap set, a bar of organic chocolate and a mini Seychelles candle, thanks guys!

If you’re ever in Norwich you really must check the store out!

Have you ever shopped at The White company before? I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx

Juicetou Three Day Detox!

Posted on August 30, 2014

juicetou-review

Hi Guys!

I was recently contacted by Juicetou to try out their three day detox, which sounded perfect to me as I desperately needed and wanted to diet to loose some weight, but I really struggle to get motivated. I thought a juice detox sounded like it could be the perfect kickstart to my diet! (Apologies for the picture too, I forgot to photograph the bottles before I started so I had to use the empty bottles instead, oops!)

The Juicetou detox is pretty hardcore – basically you only drink four juices a day, plus lots of water, for three days. There’s NO FOOD ALLOWED. At all. The juices are all fresh, natural, and free from additives, so the idea is your body will be thoroughly cleansed by the end of the detox. The juices themselves all taste fine, they’re not amazing but they’re not disgusting by any means, they literally have mashed up fruit, veg and berries in them with no sugars to sweeten them up at all. So you know they’re 100% good for you!

This is the schedule for when you need to drink each of the juices –

  • 9am Clean Green Juice – with spinach, cucumber, celery, apples and limes.
  • 12 noon Let’s Glow Juice – with oranges, apples, kiwis, grapes and strawberries.
  • 3pm Clean Green Juice – with spinach, cucumber, celery, apples and limes.
  • 6pm Berry Good Juice – with pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, apples and raspberries.

I decided to put together a mini diary so you can see how I got on…

Day 1. I get up and make myself a decaf tea with one sweetener, drink half of it before I realise I might not actually be allowed ‘normal’ tea! Oops! Tweet Juicetou to check and they recommend only having fruit or peppermint teas when detoxing, bugger. I think I may miss tea more than food over the three days! First up is the green juice at 9am, it kind of smells like celery and doesn’t taste too bad. The second juice again was ok, this was the fruity one, the third is the green one again and the last at 6pm is the berry one, which is definitely the nicest tasting! I actually had a night out planned tonight, going for a meal then cinema with friends. I sat there watching everyone eating their succulent burgers while I treated myself to a cup of tea. This is willpower. Technically I know I’m not allowed tea, but at the end of the day I’m not eating anything for three days so I decided to allow myself one!

Day 2. I woke up feeling tired, partly because of the lack of food I think and and partly because I was up in the night with Fred. I didn’t do any physical activity today but definitely felt achey and physically tired. I had a couple more ‘naughty’ cups of tea today but no food! Still staying strong!!

Day 3. Ok I did cave in today and have a couple of cups of tea, again. I know I shouldn’t have but I still didn’t eat anything so a couple of teas isn’t that bad really? Also, you’re not meant to do any exercise whilst detoxing, as you won’t have much energy at all, but I ended up doing loads of walking today. I had a dentist appointment in Norwich which took about three quarters of an hour to walk there, then I met a friend and walked around the city, then I walked back to the train station. I WAS KNACKERED. I was desperate to eat something but wanted to wait till I got home to weigh myself first! So I didnt end up eating till half 8 – and it was a salad I might add! (Seriously it was the best salad ever, after three days without food it was amazing!) And when I finally weighed myself I was really pleased to find out I’d lost four pounds 😀

I really feel like this detox has been the kick start my diet needed, and I’m going to try my best to keep up with the healthy eating now! I made a point of drinking lots of water, and hot water with a slice of lemon in is actually quite nice! Now I’ve finished I feel inspired by my weight loss and that I’m on the right track with eating healthily. I’ve been to the supermarket and stocked up on salad bits so I’m raring to go! Let’s hope I can keep up the good work and throw some exercise into the mix too!

So what do you think? Have or would you try the Juicetou detox? xxx

Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Eye Makeup Look

Hi Guys!

Following on from my Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Luxury Palette review earlier, I thought I’d make a separate post to show you the eye makeup look I created with this palette 🙂

The Dolce Vita Palette really has the most stunning colours which are just perfect for blue eyes! All the shades are also very wearable for day or night time – you can play it down or build up the depth of colour, and the golden glittery ‘pop’ shade is a fab addition for an evening look!

I started off by using the champagne shade as a light all over base, then I worked the copper shade into the crease and under the bottom lashes. I then defined the crease with the dark brown shade and highlighted the inner corner of my eyes with the champagne shade. Lastly I dabbed the golden glitter ‘pop’ shade over the centre of the lid. Unfortunately I couldn’t quite capture the amazing sparkle this gave but it really was SO sparkly!

This is officially my new favourite eyeshdow palette! I’d love to hear what you think? Do you own any Charlotte Tilbury makeup? xxx

Charlotte Tilbury The Dolce Vita Luxury Palette | Review

charlotte-tilbury-dolce-vita-review

Hi Guys!

Well look what I’ve got my hands on! The one and only Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Palette! As soon as I saw this in a blog sale for £20 I snapped it up straight away – for the sake of it being lightly used, I’d much rather spend £20 than £38 new to be honest! I’ve been lusting after Charlotte Tilbury makeup for ages now, everything in the collection is so gorgeous and the shades are all so easily wearable too. The only other CT product I own is a Kissing Lipstick in Bitch Perfect – which is fabulous by the way! I’m also in love with the Look Gift Boxes, but at £165 per set I can’t see I’ll be purchasing them any time soon unfortunately! (Fingers crossed for a lottery win asap!)

dolce-vita-palette-review

Anyway, on to the palette! The Dolce Vita palette is so stunning, apart from the gorgeous rose gold metallic packaging, the shadows themselves are fabulous. Marketed as ‘A colour-coded eye shadow palette that blends seamlessly into 3 looks, taking you from DESK to DUSK to DISCO.’ The four colours included are all you need to create a variety of looks. (Check out the Charlotte Tilbury site for more info on how she creates these looks)

Top right is the ‘base’ shade, a pretty white champagne shimmer, this shadow is perfect for highlighting the inner corners of the eyes. Next is the ‘enhance’ shade, this is a beautiful warm copper shimmer – I love this shade as it’s the perfect colour to go with blue eyes! Next is the ‘pop’ shade, a gorgeous deep bronze gold that has golden glittery pigments, and lastly the ‘smoke’ shade is a dark shimmery chocolate brown.

I literally cannot fault these shadows in any way. They’re all buttery soft and have fabulous colour payoff – I thought there could possibly be some fallout with the gold shade due to the large glitter pigments, but nope, no problems there! And it is such a gorgeous colour! I’m so glad I managed to get my hands on this palette, it’s definitely going to get a lot of use!

Rather than create one massive post, my next post will be live at 7pm tonight where I’ll show you a really simple eye makeup look I’ve done with this palette.

I’d love to hear what you think? Do you own any Charlotte Tilbury makeup? xxx

Zoeva Rose Gold Luxury Brush Set GIVEAWAY!

Posted on August 27, 2014

zoeva-rose-gold-brush-set

Hi Guys!

Well I have a feeling today’s post is going to be a popular one! The lovely people at Legal and General asked me to think about which item(s) I think are worth investing in. What would I spend a bit more money on if I could? What would I choose to invest in if I had the choice? Well of course makeup and skincare sprang to mind – funny that! One of the things that I first thought of was makeup brushes. I’ve had countless cheap sets of makeup brushes over the years that just don’t last. Apart from the obvious bristle shedding – and yes I have ended up with a beard when applying my bronzer – I’ve also had handles fall off, and brushes appear to completely disintegrate before my eyes. There are loads of brands out there offering fab makeup brushes these days, but decent brushes often come at a price, and great brushes are usually out of my price range! A while ago I created this Rose Gold themed wish list including my dream makeup brush set – the Rose Gold Luxury Set by Zoeva. These brushes are of course gorgeous, but as well as looking great they’re of the highest quality too. Legal and General would like to give this amazing set away worth €65 to one lucky winner, and all you have to do is enter via the rafflecopter widget below – please also leave me a comment for extra entries!

This giveaway will run for two weeks, and it’s open internationally. The brush set on offer is the one you see in this post, I have opened it to photograph only. If you have any questions please feel free to drop me a line. Good luck! xxx

My personal favourite holiday hotspot has to be Barcelona. I went there a few years ago with friends and we had the most amazing time! There are so many things to see and do, we stayed in a hostel in the centre of Las Ramblas and even though we had our food stolen (long story) we still had the best time. I’d highly recommend Barca for a holiday! I’ve put together my own wish list from the Simply Be site at the top of this post. I’ve picked some casual but pretty pieces that would be perfect for exploring the city and sightseeing 🙂
