I was SO excited when I first heard abut the Lightness of Being collection, with it’s pastel hues and shimmery shades, it seemed like the prefect collection to take us beauty addicts from strong winter shades into the lighter pastel shades of spring.
Open yourself to a new lightness of being with a free-spirited collection of uninhibited, poetic shades inspired by whimsical flights of fancy. Liberate yourself from darkened tones and explore the freeform movement of frosted lavender, pearlized champagne and pale mint green. Shimmer elegantly in our new Mineralize colours for eyes and cheeks, featuring air-kissed pinks, sheer pastels and barely-there golds — the perfect complement to rosy nudes for lips, as glosses glaze lips with a subtle elegance. Nails leave you free to be, in hushed beige and lavender tones. Welcome to expressive colour for the modern spirit.
I originally wanted the Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade which I’ve had my eye on for a while as it’s also part of the standard line, and thought this would be a great opportunity to pick it up, but it was sold out, straight away it seems, so I went for the alternative MSF in Perfect Topping instead. Just to explain the difference between the two, Lightscapade is described as a ‘Shimmery pale peach with lavender marble’ and Perfect Topping is ‘Shimmery off white with light pink/blue/yellow marble’. I also picked up the Mineralize Eyeshadow Force of Nature, which was only £10 due to a glitch in the system, plus I got free delivery and a free mini mascara – result! And I’d like to point out that I didn’t buy any lipsticks at all, which is pretty unheard of for me!
The Mineralize Eyeshadow in Force of Nature has a baked formula to give exceptional sheer and lightweight application. The eyeshadow is divided into two shades of shimmery brown, with half having a pearl finish and half having a frost finish. I have to say that I absolutely love this product! Both shadows are super fine and soft, easy to apply and blend, and give the most beautiful finish (see swatches below) I know this will get a lot of use!
And the MSF in Perfect Topping – described as a ‘Shimmery off white with light pink/blue/yellow marble’ I can’t see any blue in it at all, but there’s definitely hints of pale orange, yellow and cream, which together give a gorgeous peachy high-frost finish. The powder itself is as expected, velvety soft and pretty much perfect! I’ve been using this to add a bit of highlight to the tops of my cheeks and brow bones and I can’t really get enough of it.
You can see by the swatches that all three shades really are gorgeous, wearable colours. I’m so happy I picked both of these up! I also wanted to mention the new style packaging, which I rather like. Both outer boxes have a half matte, half gloss finish, and both product casings have a matte finish lid and glossy base, and the MSF compact now has a window too, which is really handy. I’m not sure if this packaging is new throughout MAC’s products or just for this collection though. Either way, I like it!
Did you pick anything up from this collection? I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx
