The Weekly Top 5 #15

Hi Guys!

Well it’s now the end of a long week for me, we have family over from Japan this week and next, and we’ve been so busy on trips out and going out for meals, it’s been hectic, but great fun! We went to the local Dinosaur Park earlier in the week, the kids had a great time but it was pretty tiring for all of us, and we’ve also been out for a meal, and a family BBQ yesterday. Next week we’re off to the seaside too, I can’t wait! We were also supposed to be going camping too, but it looks like that’s been cancelled now as the boys have decided to go on a brewery tour tomorrow instead – typical!

It was also my husband’s birthday on Wednesday, he’s now the ripe old age of 33. He was pretty spoiled and received some lovely presents, so I’ll be sharing them in a post later this week. As well as that I’ve been starting to plan what Fred needs for school, I can’t believe he’s starting in a few weeks’ time, bless him! Anyway, enough rambling, Here’s this week’s top five –

Roger & Gallet’s Fleur de Figuier EDP (£27.00) has been this weeks’ fragrance of choice. With top notes of Mandarin, Pink Peppercorn and Candied Fig Accord, heart notes of Violet Wood and Fig Pulp, and base notes of Musk, Patchouli and Moss, this is such a beautiful, fruity and sweet fragrance for summer, and at just £27 for 50ml, I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a new perfume right now.

I have a bit of a love / hate relationship with nail polish. I do actually love it, but I’ll go for ages not wearing any, then I’ll just have a massive polish phase for the next month or so, changing the shade every few days. Well I’ve just started using Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in 535 Perfect Pair. This is the most beautiful nude pink shade, with a hint of beige. The shade suits my pale skin really well and doesn’t make me look washed out – I love it!

This week’s Netflix obsession has been The L Word. This is a US series that started way back in the early 2000’s – but I’d never heard of it before! If you haven’t heard of it either, the series follows the lives and loves of a group of lesbian and bisexual friends living in LA. It’s a fantastic series with equal parts drama, comedy and sex. A definite must-see.

And I’ve also just discovered ‘The best Gin in the world!I don’t drink very often, but I am partial to the odd G&T, and Napue Gin (£31.89) has just been voted the winner of the first ever official G&T competition, held by The International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC). Napue is described as a full bodied spirit with a herbal sweet taste and hints of sea-buckthorn, cranberries, pepper, rye and birch leaves. I’m no expert, but I can tell you this is definitely something special!

And lastly, Palmer’s Skin Therapy Oil Spray – Rosehip Fragrance (£7.49) – this is a brand new multi-purpose skin perfecting dry oil, designed to moisturise and soften skin whilst helping improve the appearance of stretch marks, scars, dry damaged skin, uneven skin tone and ageing skin. I love the Rosehip scent of this product, as well as the fact that it sinks into the skin super fast, leaving no residue. I can’t comment on the other claims as ye I’m afraid, but time will tell if it really works!

In case you missed it –

I’m holding not one but two giveaways at the moment, you can win a pair of festival tickets and a pre-pitched tent worth over £500 here and a brand new Urban Decay Smoky Palette here. Good luck!

Other things worth mentioning –

I’ll be starting work on a brand new project soon, it’s top secret at the moment I’m afraid, but further details will follow in due course – keep your eyes peeled on Twitter! I’m also off to London on Friday for my work’s summer party which I’m really excited about. I think I’ll try to keep away from the shops while I’m there – Selfridges is calling me though! 😀

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx
