Urban Decay Vice 4 Palette

Hi Guys!

I’ve been having so much fun playing with the new Urban Decay Vice 4 Palette lately, isn’t it a beauty! Vice 4 contains 20 brand new and never seen before eyeshadow shades, in a massive range of colours and finishes, as well as a double ended brush and a matching pouch / bag.

The palette is just stunning to look at, it has a fantastic iridescent pattern on the lid which makes me think of broken glass (and also, strangely Spider Man!) – but not surprisingly, the design and theme of the palette were inspired by vintage UD shade Oil Slick, which really needs no explanation. The palette is sturdy, and very high quality as you’d expect from Urban Decay.

And look at the shadows! Aren’t they gorgeous! This palette has a fantastic mix of bright, bold and out-there shades, with neutral nudes and darker shades included too, which are perfect for a smoky eye. There’s also a range of finishes, from matte, to satin to metallic. Many shades are packed full of micro glitter too – this is definitely the perfect palette to create party looks with over the Christmas season!

Let’s go straight in and look at the swatches…

First row L – R –

  • Bones – oyster satin with pearl
  • Grip – taupe matte with iridescent micro glitter
  • Deadbeat – black satin with iridescent micro glitter
  • Beat Down – deep metallic violet with blue micro glitter
  • Pandemonium – metallic plum with iridescent micro glitter

I’m in love with Beat Down and Pandemonium from the first row, they’re both gorgeous deep metallic shades which apply beautifully. I tried out a little smoky eye look with them half expecting it not to suit me, but in fact these colours are surprisingly easy to wear, and I was really pleased with the result.

Second row –

  • Framed – light neutral matte satin
  • Fast-Ball – metallic peachy pink with pink micro glitter
  • 1985 – metallic fuchsia with micro glitter
  • Underhand – burgundy-brown satin
  • Harlot – metallic lavender

The second row contains more pinky tones, with 1984 being one of my favourites. It’s a bright fuchsia shade with a beautiful metallic shine, my photos really don’t do it justice. I know some of these shades aren’t going to be to everyones taste, but just think of all the looks you could experiment with! Unfortunately Framed didn’t show up too well for me though, apart from the fact that it’s similar to my skin tone, this one didn’t seem to apply as well as the others.

Third row –

  • Discreet – soft dusty mauve matte
  • Grasshopper – metallic emerald green micro glitter
  • C-Note – frosted green with micro glitter
  • Arctic – bright teal with tonal sparkle
  • Robbery – deep metallic brown-gunmetal

I think the third row of shadows has to be my favourite. It contains three stunning aqua shades, from the intense emerald green of Grasshopper, to the bright sky blue shade of Arctic, these shades all have a high shimmer metallic finish, with micro glitters to give an extra level of sparkle. Robbery though, is just beautiful, it’s a warm silver taupe, again with a metallic finish. I can see myself reaching for this shade a lot.

Fourth row –

  • Bitter – reddish brown matte
  • Flame – bright orange with gold micro glitter
  • Low – brown matte with iridescent micro glitter
  • Crowbar – black with golden metallic pearl and micro glitter
  • Delete – deep chestnut brown matte satin

And the last row has a warmer feel to it. Flame is a stunning peachy orange shade packed full of micro glitter, and Delete is an intense deep brown matte shade with amazing pigmentation.

What I love overall about this palette, is the possibilities. There are so many different shades and finishes, you could pretty much create an unlimited amount of looks with them. And apart from the odd one, the eyeshadows in this palette really are fantastic  – Vice 4 is a must have for anyone that loves to get creative with their makeup!

And just to top it off, this fantastic palette comes with a matching zipped pouch, with the same iridescent pattern as the palette. This is perfect to store the palette in to protect it from damage, or as a mini makeup bag.

And lastly just in case you hadn’t heard, UD are also releasing a special collaboration palette with the one and only Gwen Stefani! I’m so excited for this! I love UD and I love Gwen – she was one of my style icons growing up in the 90’s, so this is just the perfect combo for me. The Gewn Stefani palette will be released at the end of November.

Th Vice 4 palette is available now for £43.00 from Urban Decay.

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx
