Clarins Autumn 2016 Makeup Collection

Clarins-Autumn-2016-Makeup-Collection

Hi Guys!

One of my favourite brands for both skincare and makeup is back again! Clarins have just announced their Autumn 2016 range – which isn’t the biggest collection of products in the world, but when you look at what’s on offer, I think you’ll want it all…

This Autumn, Clarins Make-Up Collection focuses on the eyes allowing you to emphasise, volumise and highlight effortlessly to transform your look from day to night. With textures that care for the skin and are as easy to apply as they are to wear, the new collection will become a staple for everyday make-up to achieve a flawless complexion and beautiful eyes.

Let’s start by looking at the BB Skin Detox Fluid SPF 25 (£30.00) – Now I wasn’t too sure what to make of this at first… what on earth is a ‘Detox Fluid’ anyway? We it’s described as being ‘half make-up, half skin care’ and promises to instantly enhance the complexion – giving skin a new lease of life.

The BB Skin Detox Fluid contains beneficial plant extracts, including acerola seed to encourage skin oxygenation, meadowsweet extract to help maintain skin’s balance and aloe vera extract and hyaluronic acid complex to provide all day hydration. It promises to correct imperfections using 3D radiance pigments which optically break up the light into three dimensions to give skin a soft, unified glow.

It feels really nice on the skin – it’s lightweight with a light coverage, which is perfect for those looking for an easy-to-apply light base. There are only two shades available though – 00 Fair and 01 Light, so unfortunately this won’t be suitable for darker skin tones.

Next the Mascara Supra Volume (£21.50) – this is Clarins’ latest volumising Mascara, with a brand new re-invented formula utilising their new Volume Booster Complex: containing carnauba wax powder and cassie flower which together form a film that coats and shapes the lashes, for exceptional and long-lasting volume. Clarins also promises that with repeated application, lash volume will be increased and strengthened – which sounds fantastic to me!

I’ve tried this mascara a couple of times now, and I have to tell you that I love it. It gives fantastic volume to my super short lashes without clumping, and also keeps the lashes separated. I think this has just become my new go-to mascara 🙂 It’s available in 01 Intense Black, or 02 Intense Brown for a more natural look.

And lastly, the 4-Colour Eyeshadow Palettes (£34.00) – these gorgeous colour palettes come in four different neutral-toned colour ways specifically to suit different eye colours. Each palette contains a variety of matte, satin and pearlescent shades which can easily be built up to create a more dramatic eye, and they’re also formulated for both wet and dry use. The palettes are as follows –

  • 01 Nude – for blue eyes.
  • 02 Rosewood –  for green eyes.
  • 03 Brown – for brown eyes.
  • 04 Oud (Harrods and Selfridges Exclusive) – for hazel eyes.

These palettes really are fantastic! They’re small enough to pop into a makeup bag or handbag – which I love, and the shades included are just spot on. You’ve got lighter shades for day-wear, darker shades for smokey eyes, and the fact that you can use them wet means you can intensify any looks you wish to create too. These are perfect fool-proof eye palettes for Autumn.

The Clarins Autumn collection will be available from August 2016.
