Over the last few months I’ve received some fantastic looking products from Giorgio Armani beauty to try out. I’ve finally got round to gathering them all together and photographing them, and I’ve been trying them out over the last week or so.
I must admit Giorgio Armani isn’t a brand I’d automatically gravitate to – mostly because I don’t have a counter near where I live, so I have no way of trying products before I buy – so I’m really excited I’ve been given this opportunity to give their products a go, and hopefully find a few favourites. Let’s get stuck in!
Starting with the lips, I have a few of the brand new Ecstasy Shine Lipsticks (£29.00) – these are moisturising lip creams that promise to colour like a lipstick, moisturise like a balm and give the shine of a gloss. I suffer with dry lips pretty much all year round, so I’m really liking the sound of these!
The Ecstasy Shine Lipsticks are available in 18 shades, and I have 400, which is a classic true red, as well as Silenzio 200, a warm taupe brown, and Smile 100, a medium nude beige. The formula combines liquid pigments with emollient oils to give a light reflecting, plumping effect, promising 8 hours of lasting moisture, with a comfortable creamy texture.
These lipsticks though expensive, definitely get a thumbs up from me, they’re just so comfortable to wear, and feel smooth, creamy and hydrating – a definitely must try for those with dryer lips.
I also have one of the Lip Magnets (£29.00) – this is a super lightweight liquid lipstick that promises to be up to four times thinner than your average long lasting liquid lipstick. And I must say this lipstick does literally feel weightless on the lips, like you’re not wearing anything at all. I have shade 300 which is a bright tangerine orange offering fantastic pigmentation that doesn’t move throughout the day.
For another hydrating option, the Rouge D’Armani Sheer Lipstick (£28.00) is definitely worth a look. This is an award-winning sheer lipstick with a weightless finish, offering intense hydration with a tint of colour. This definitely gives less pigmentation than the Ecstasy Shine Lipsticks, but still feels super smooth and comfortable to wear.
On to eyes now, the Eye Tint (£28.00) is a liquid eyeshadow available in 16 shades, offering 16 hours of wear. The formula combines the finish of a powder, staying power of ink and the feel of cream. Personally I’m not the biggest fan of liquid eyeshadows, but these have a lovely smooth creamy formula that dries down to a light feeling powdery finish. I have shades 1 Obsidian, a deep blue toned black, and 11 Rose Ashes, a light iridescent rose pink. I found Obsidian quite hard to work with, as it’s such a dark shade it’s quite unforgiving (I think my lack of skill with application is more the problem here than the actual product though!) but I love Rose Ashes, it’s so pretty and looks beautiful swept across the lid.
For fragrance, I have the brand new Because It’s You EDT (from £47.00 for 30ml) – this is a bight, playful and happy fragrance. It’s described as a delicious and sparkling perfume, irresistible like a ripe raspberry, it’s unabashedly feminine, full, instinctive and passionate.
Both bold and seductive, Because It’s You opens with bright sparkling notes of ripe raspberry and green mandarin, leading to a fun floral heart of violet, jasmine and rose. The base comprises of warm and seductive vanilla mixed with musk and patchouli, for a sensuous and alluring dry down.
- Top Notes: Raspberry, Blackcurrant and Neroli.
- Heart Notes: Violet leaves accord, Rose Absolute and Jasmin Sambac Absolute.
- Base Notes: Patchouli Essence, Vanilla Extract and Musks.
And the also (fairly) new Sky Di Gioia EDP (from £48.00 for 30ml) – this is definitely more of a summery scent, inspired by the appeal of a beautiful sunrise that glows pink above the sea, Giorgio Armani Sky Di Gioia is a feminine floral perfume with plenty of fruity notes, combining to create a modern and elegant fragrance with a touch of femininity and softness.
Sky Di Gioia EDP is definitely more of a fresh, fruity fragrance, opening with bright and juicy notes of lychee accord and crispy green pear, leading to a floral heart of dewy rose centifolia, velvety peony and a subtle hint of salty transluzone. The sensual white musk at the base adds its accents of blackcurrant bus and blackberry leaves to this beautifully feminine fragrance.
- Top Notes: Lychee Accord and Green Pear.
- Heart Notes: Peony, Rose Centifolia and Transluzone.
- Base Notes: White Musk, Blackcurrant and Blackberry Leaves.
And now onto brows, the Eye & Brow Maestro (£28.00) is a fantastic multi-use product that can be used as to fill in the eyebrows, used as eye shadow or eyeliner and can also be used to contour the face and touch up the hairline if you wish, and it comes in 11 shades to suit (pretty much) every hair colour.
I really like this to fill in brows, though the brown shade I have isn’t quite right for me, it definitely does a great job and doesn’t smudge throughout the day.
The High-Precision Brow Pencil (£25.00) is an automatic dual ended pencil offering a micro pencil for precision application at one end, with a slim comb for shaping at the other. The formula promises 6 hour waterproof wear – which applies with ease and precision, allowing you to create a natural look with ‘hair by hair’ application. I love that this pencil is so fine, enabling you to create a truly natural look.
And lastly the Eye & Brow Maestro Brush (£30.00) – this double ended brush has a fine eyeliner flat brush at one end, and a brow spoolie at the other, to allow you to expertly shape and define your brows. It’s a good little brush, and definitely does the job, but it’s quite up there in terms of price.
So what do I think? Well overall I’m impressed with the products I’ve been trying out, the fragrances are both gorgeous and easy to wear, and I particularly love the new Ecstasy Shine Lipsticks, they feel so moisturising and smooth on the lips – out of everything these are definitely my favourites!
I hope you enjoyed my post xxx
