It Cosmetics have recently launched their Pillow Lips High-Pigment Moisture Wrapping Lipsticks – there are a total of 14 shades across both matte and cream finishes, and both formulas are infused with Tri-Oil Complex, which includes jojoba oil, peppermint oil and sesame seed oil to nourish and leave lips feeling soft and supple – nice!‘Pillow Lips High Pigment Moisture Wrapping Lipstick is your collagen-infused formula that delivers high-impact color in one lip-loving swipe! Offered in cream and matte finishes, the 14 shades of this lipstick were specially created to complement all skin tones and lip types.’
As well as the Tri-Oil Complex, Pillow Lips are also infused with collagen to help minimise the appearance of lip lines, giving the illusion of plumper, juicer lips. They promise to wrap lips in moisture and apply effortlessly, leaving you with soft, smooth lips.
Personally, I love a matte finish lipstick, but find many of them far too drying – I already have pretty dry lips so I’m forever hunting for the perfect lipsticks that gives me the finish I want, lasts a long time, and doesn’t leave my lips drier than the Sahara. I do also love a cream finish, for ease of wear, I find they’re often more forgiving than a matte too.Shades left to right –
- Humble (Matte)
- Vision (Cream)
- Wink (Cream)
- Stellar (Cream)
- Wish List (Cream)
To be honest, you can’t see much of a difference in finish from my swatches – the first swatch Humble (Matte) has ever so slightly less sheen than the rest though. You can definitely see the difference more on the lips – the matte shade of course has a matte finish, but not what I’d call a full on intense matte, which I think as a good thing, as this is when matte lipsticks get really drying (think MAC Reto Matte, eek!) and it really feels just the same on the lips as the other cream shades. I’d say both creams and mattes are slightly moisturising, very creamy, and offer a fantastic colour payoff. It Cosmetics Pillow Lips lipsticks are £20.00 and available now at It Cosmetics.
