Christmas Gifts Ideas for Jewellery Lovers

Hi Guys!

When it comes to jewellery, I really am a magpie. I started collecting 70’s and 80’s jewellery many years ago, and though I don’t pick any vintage pieces up these days, I still have to look at jewellery whenever I go shopping, I’m like a moth to a flame. I’ve put together a few ideas for Christmas jewellery gifts today, they’re all affordable and definitely won’t break the bank, and some are from well known brands while some are lesser known. I hope you enjoy!

silver-bunny-ring-holder

Ok let’s start with this Silver Bunny Ring Holder (£8.95), isn’t it just the sweetest thing? The perfect gift for anyone that likes to swap between different rings on a regular basis, this Bunny Ring Holder will keep rings safe and sound whilst looking gorgeous displayed on any dressing table. I love that it’s a functional item whilst being quirky yet chic – oh and under a tenner too!

Glittering-Double-Wrap-Bracelet

Or what about this lovely Glittering Double Wrap Bracelet (£19.95) – this bracelet is just so pretty, and in neutral colours so it’s easy to wear too. It wraps around the wrist twice, featuring two different types of beads so it actually looks like two bracelets. It’s made of leather so it’s hard wearing, and will look fantastic as a casual or dressed up accessory.

Rio-Grande-Lavender-Quartz-Ring

I’m in love with this stunning Rio Grande Lavender Quartz Ring (£65.00) it’s such an unusual colour and catches the light beautifully. The stone is massive – and it’s such a gorgeous shape for a cocktail ring. I just need an event to go to so I can wear it now! 🙂

Freya-Necklace-in-Sterling-Silver

Or if you prefer necklaces, what about this Freya Necklace in Sterling Silver (£45.00). This necklace is simple, beautiful and yet somewhat unusual. It features two organic shapes, inspired by dried up autumn leaves, which I think is a lovely concept.

ted-baker-arrow-earrings

And lastly, I just had to include some rose gold! These Ted Baker Arrow Small Drop Earrings (£25.00) are really dainty and pretty, and a complete bargain at only £25.00! Ted Baker produce some of the most gorgeous clothing and gifts, but I hadn’t really taken much notice of their jewellery range before – I’m so glad I have now though as I’ve added a few more pieces to my Christmas list! Definitely check out their jewellery range if you’re a fan of TB!

I’d love to hear if any of these pieces have caught your eye? Or if there’s any jewellery on your Christmas list this year?

Hi Guys!

Sweet baby Jesus, I’ve just seen some images from H&M’s new designer collaboration with Balmain, and just WOW. This collection really is EVERYTHING. As expected of Balmain, it’s full of statement trophy mini dresses, intricate detailing and beautiful patterns. The entire collection contains at least 50 pieces (so I’ve heard) including clothing, bags, shoes and jewellery, for both men and women.

I just can’t get over how amazing this collection looks. It’s released on November 5th and I imagine it will sell out in seconds, so you’ll need to be quick to snap some of these beauties up!

I’ve included some of my top picks below, fingers crossed I’ll be able to grab something before they sell out – enjoy!

My Autumn Fashion Wishlist

Posted on September 22, 2015

autumn fashion wishlist

Hi Guys!

Did you know Autumn is officially upon us as of tomorrow? (according to Google anyway) It’s suddenly turned super cold here, resulting in me living in jogging bottoms, my other half’s chunky socks and my red blanket – what a great look hey!

Because of the sudden cold turn in the weather, I’ve also been considering what to update in my wardrobe. On one hand I want to wait till I’ve lost more weight before buying anything new, but on the other hand I love A/W fashion and I JUST WANT TO BUY ALL THE THINGS!

So, out with my beloved yet flimsy (only because they’re made of fabric) Schuh flats I’ve been loving all summer, and in with some sturdy shoes and boots I think! I also really want to get a cape or a wrap of some sort. I’m not sure which though yet, but I think worn right they can look really smart and chic.

Sticking with a seasonal palette of browns, greys and neutrals – with some gold jewellery of course, I’ve put together my top Autumn picks from some of my favourite fashion stores –

  1. Avelon Skinny Fit Trousers from Farfetch
  2. Chronicle Ring Set from Nasty Gal
  3. Givenchy Three Row Bracelet from Selfridges
  4. Vivien Westwood Primrose Zip Tote Bag from Daniel Footwear
  5. Moschino Bear Earrings from Selfridges
  6. Label Lab Lightweight Side Split Dress from House of Fraser
  7. Roll Neck Poncho from Esprit
  8. Matisse Nugent Ponyhair Ankle Boot from Nasty Gal

I’d love to hear if any of these take your fancy?

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Silver Goodness from Pia Jewellery

Hi Guys!

It’s not too often that I feature jewellery these days – I’ve been trying to cut back as my jewellery obsession has been getting a bit ridiculous! But then Pia Jewellery asked if I’d like to share some of their beautiful silver pieces with you, and who was I to say no! 😉

I have featured a couple of Pia rings quite a while ago on the blog – so I knew their jewellery would be of fantastic quality (you can check the posts out here) but today I have a gorgeous selection to show you, including a ring, two bracelets and a beautiful necklace.

pia-jewellery-layout

If you haven’t heard of Pia before, they offer a massive range of jewellery, predominantly in silver but also gold and rose gold, as well as watches, handbags and gifts.

The Pia collection celebrates their passion for creative styling and craftsmanship from all over the world. They offer timeless and classic designs, often inspired by nature or reflecting a cool modernity. Pia Jewellery is lovingly crafted to the highest standards and yet surprisingly affordable, whilst being safely delivered to your home in beautifully presented boxes.

pia-jewellery-blue-silver-spheres-bracelet

First up is the Blue Silver Spheres Bracelet (£35.00) –  this a gorgeous and interesting bracelet, made with five blue leather straps which hold a selection of small to large sized sterling silver orbs. I love how shiny the orbs are! This bracelet just looks fantastic paired with a minimalist outfit.

pia-jewellery-crumled-silver-necklace

And the beautiful Crumpled Silver Necklace (£80.00) – This is so pretty and unusual, yet simple and elegant enough to add interest to an outfit. The length is pretty short, which suits me perfectly as I find longer necklaces don’t usually sit too well on my ample cleavage! This necklace is definitely my favourite out of the bunch, I’ve worn this constantly since it arrived!

pia-jewellery-mystic-topaz-ring

You may have noticed by now that I’m a massive fan of anything brightly coloured and unusual, so this Mystic Topaz Ring (£35.00) is right up my street! Mystic topaz is actually not a ‘real’ gem as such, it’s actually just clear topaz that’s been given a coating to jazz it up. This really doesn’t bother me though, I love the multi-dimensional effect the stone has, when it catches the light it’s just mesmerising!

pia-jewellery-step-by-step-silver-bracelet

And lastly the Step By Step Silver Bracelet (£40.00) – another beautiful, simple and elegant piece. This pretty bracelet is super delicate, featuring four fine strands of silver, wrapped together in sections across the bracelet. This looks great worn on it’s own or layered up with other silver bracelets.

pia-jewellery-flat-lay

Well, I’ve fallen in love with all of these pieces, they’re all so classic and easy to wear with pretty much anything, I know I’ll get many years of use out of them 🙂

I’d highly recommend you check out Pia Jewellery if you’re on the hunt for some silver jewellery. They offer so many different styles, there really is something to suit everyone. Also, it’s a fantastic site to check out if you’re looking for a gift – prices start from a little as £5.00 so you can grab som fantastic bargains!

I’d love to hear about your favourite jewellery? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Summer Brights Wish List!

Posted on July 24, 2015

summer brights wish list

Hi Guys!

At the moment, I just can’t get enough of anything that’s bright, cute and kitsch. If it falls under the category of neon or novelty, I WANT IT. I need it in my life! I really feel like I’m clinging onto the summer with all my might – the weather is still hot and muggy, but unfortunately the sun seems to have ‘done one’ of late. And though I’ve been trying to be good when it comes to spending, I have actually been buying a few things recently… some beauty bits from some blog sales (all will be revealed soon) and some awesome new stationery from the US, which definitely falls under the cute and kitsch category! Hopefully my delivery will arrive soon so I can show you what I bought (and they’re all completely necessary, important things of course)

Is it just me or does anyone else spend a lot of time, and I mean A LOT, window shopping online, filling your virtual baskets with hundreds and sometimes thousands of pounds of gorgeous goodies, just to take things out of said bag one by one to try to make it affordable? Then realising you shouldn’t really be buying anything anyway, and you should really be doing the washing up / hoovering / dusting / insert relevant chore, rather than browsing thing you can’t afford?

Yeah I spend a lot of time doing that, hence my latest wish list! I’ve included some fantastic bargains, as well as a couple of more expensive items – well it is a ‘wish list’ after all! I hope you like!

  • Kitty High Top Sneakers from ShopJeen
  • Rib Cage Cuff 70mm from Cooee
  • Chiara Ferragni Glitter Pop ‘n Dog Slip-On Sneaker from Nasty Gal
  • Skinnydip Pineapple Juice Across Body Bag from ASOS
  • Cropped Stretch Cotton Trousers from Esprit
  • Geo Transparent Strap Watch from ASOS
  • Blue Tropical Print Ruch Side Mini Skirt from New Look
  • IRO Ashville Jacket in Coral from Trilogy Stores
  • Only Child Kaleido Crystal Ring from ASOS
  • Far Out Tie Dye Halter Top from ShopJeen

If you can recommend any other stores for similar goodies that I might like, please do leave me a comment and let me know!

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Ingle & Rhode Luxury Jewellers Q&A

Posted on July 5, 2015

Hi Guys!

Today I have a bit of a different post for you. I have an exclusive guest post interview / Q&A session with man-in-the-know, David Rhode from luxury jewellers Ingle and Rhode. David’s story began in 2006, when he was looking for an engagement ring but couldn’t find a jeweller who could tell him where their diamonds had come from, or the conditions under which their jewellery was produced. The more he looked into the industry, the more compromises he discovered he was being asked to make – from blood diamonds, to dirty gold, to sweatshops and child labour. Then in 2007 together David and his friend Tim Ingle launched Ingle & Rhode to offer an ethical alternative to the traditional luxury brands.

I’m a complete magpie when it comes to jewellery, and should probably admit that I own way more that my fair share! So I thought I’d take this opportunity to pick David’s brains on a few things…

stacking-set-2

1. What are your favourite jewellery trends right now?

‘Stacking sets are popular at the moment; they offer great versatility as you can swap rings in and out of the stack depending on your mood. Also, you can add to the stack on special occasions over the years, so each ring might have different memories associated with it. On a wider level, bespoke commissions continue to thrive. Nearly one in every five engagement rings is made to order – it’s great that so many people have the confidence and the opportunity to create something really unique.’

Rose-Gold-and-Sapphire-Ring

2. And what jewellery trends do you predict we’ll be seeing for AW15?

‘Rose gold has been popular for the last year or so, and increasingly we’re seeing this matched with fancy coloured sapphires – pinks and padparascha (orange/pinks) can work really well. It will be really interesting to see what other coloured gemstones people will try combining it with.’

3. Which one jewellery item do you think everyone should have?

‘A cocktail ring. It’s completely extravagant, a ring that’s impractical on a day to day basis – but lots of fun on a special occasion. It’s a great opportunity to use options outside of the ‘Big Four’ traditional engagement ring stones (diamond, ruby, sapphire, emerald). It should be possible to create a really impressive ring without breaking the bank.’

Cocktail-Ring

4. When choosing gemstones, what should I look for?

‘The specifics will vary depending on what type of stone it is, but in general it will break down into colour, clarity, and treatment. You should judge colour on hue, intensity, and light/dark. So a blue sapphire might have a hint of violet or green about it, that’s it’s hue. The colour might be rich and strong, or the opposite – that’s its intensity. And obviously gemstones vary in terms of how light and dark they are, we generally want to avoid stones that are too far to one extreme or the other.’

‘With clarity, it’s important to compare apples with apples. You are totally justified in expecting your diamond to be free of visible inclusions or blemishes, but that isn’t the case with all coloured stones. Emeralds for example are very rarely totally clean, and it’s not fair to judge them by the same standards. You need to know what is a reasonable expectation for the stone you are choosing.’

5. Which celebrities do you find inspirational in terms of the jewellery they wear?

‘A lot of celebrities just assume that ‘bigger equals better’, and are keen to show off their huge diamonds. It’s always good to see pieces that a show a little more thought . Zoe Soldana’s emerald engagement ring was a really interesting choice, so was Scarlett Johansson’s Art Deco style ring.’

Thanks so much to David for your answers! I think I need to get myself a cocktail ring now!

I’d love to hear about your favourite jewellery item? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

ASOS Accessories Sale Haul!

Posted on July 1, 2015

asos-sale-picks

Hi Guys!

Ooh I do love a good bargain, and I’m pretty much guaranteed to grab something from ASOS’s regular sales every single time. They have SO MANY things on offer, from fashion, to accessories, to gifts to stationery (I actually just picked up some gorgeous stationery bits the other day!)

I’ve been part of Access All ASOS for a while now and they’ve kindly given me a £50 voucher to shop the sale – woo hoo! £50 isn’t really that much to go shopping with these days, but when there’s a sale on I think I’ll be able to grab quite a few bargains! I originally had my sites set on beauty, accessories and possibly shoes…

asos-sale-picks-acessories

asos-sale-stationery

Ok so you can see I didn’t end up picking up and beauty items, or shoes for that matter! Shoe shopping online can be a bit problematic for me as I’m a 5.5 so shoes often end up not fitting well. I decided to stay safe and went for accessories and stationery this time instead! Oh and I did cheat a little bit… the sale actually started on Monday at 8am, but as I’m part of ASOS Premier, ASOS often email their Premier customers with sale previews, so I sorted the whole of the sale into price order with cheapest first on Sunday evening (obv so I could get the best bargains) and added everything to my save list that I liked the look of. Then when Monday morning came I was all ready to purchase 😀

Here’s what I picked up!

asos-sale-accessories

asos-sale-bracelet

I’m a bit of a magpie and ended up with quite a lot of jewellery, but I snapped up some fantastic bargains – the Gorjana bracelet for example was originally £95, and I got it for less than £20! I’d also highly recommend signing up to ASOS Premier, it’s only £10 for a years’ subscription and you receive free next day delivery with all orders, no matter how small, as well as free courier collection returns – saving you going to the post office, and not forgetting sale previews so you get the best picks of the sale before all the good stuff sells out!

I’m really pleased with my haul, I hope you enjoyed my post and I’d love to hear if you picked up anything in the ASOS sale? xxx
