Barry M Matte Nail Paint in Nude Vanilla Review & Swatches

Posted on December 10, 2013

Hi Guys!

I know I’m a bit late to the party with this one, but I’ve finally succumbed and purchased a Barry M Matte Nail Paint!

I have quite pale skin and I do love a good nude colour so I went for the lightest option – Nude Vanailla, which is a nude grey toned beige, with the slightest hint of lilac. The rest of the colours in this collection are dark, wintry colours including black, brown and burgundy.

As expected the polish has a slightly different consistency to standard polishes, the formula is thicker than a normal polish, I wouldn’t say it was harder to apply, but just slightly different if you’re not used to it. The thickness means it can tend to drag, but once I got that hang of it it was fine to apply. I would say it also takes a bit longer to dry than normal polishes.

I also think the finish is more of a satin than a matte, but I really like it! I messed up my index finger nail so the next day I put another coat on top, and if you look at the above and below pictures you’ll see the polish is really matte on the first day of application then settles to more of a satin finish.

I do really like this polish, I hope they bring some more colours out! Have you tried it?

Ops!Objects Jewellery & Barry M Hi Shine Gelly Nail Paint Review

Posted on August 15, 2013

Hi Guys!

Today I want to share with you my review of Barry M Hi Shine Gelly nail paint, and my gorgeous new jewellery from Ops!Objects! I recently may have ordered a couple of bits from ASOS in their sale, I threw a couple of Barry M Hi Shine Gelly nail polishes in my basket as it’s something I’ve been meaning to try for ages but never got round to it. I’m always partial to blues or a nice aqua so I went for ‘Guava’ (I also ordered ‘Satsuma’ which is a bright orange colour)

I completely love this colour! As far as high shine goes, I’d say it’s slightly shinier than other polishes but not significantly. Also, I have to say I wasn’t very impressed with the brush, it seemed a lot smaller and thinner than other brands and was a bit of a pain to use. The polish though was just fab, a great consistency and full opacity with only two coats. Very impressed 🙂 Also, it lasted for ages!

Now for the jewellery! I have an awesome OPS! Love bracelet in matte grey, and an OPS! Rock ring in matte blue to show off!

The jewellery feels amazing, I’ve never worn anything like it before! It’s made of rubber and the only thing I can think to compare the feel to is the original Urban Decay Naked pallete casing, if you have one you’ll know what I mean! It has that really soft velvelty rubber feel. Ops!Objects also sell earrings, necklaces and watches 🙂

Do you own any unusual jewellery? I’d love to hear about it!
