Heatwave! All The Beauty Products You Need Right Now…

Posted on July 7, 2017

Hi Guys!

The warm weather has finally hit the UK, and being British, of course we just don’t know what to do with ourselves – well personally I don’t function so well in the heat, so I’ve been hiding indoors wherever possible! Today, I’ve put together a few products, aiming to help you fight the frizz with your hair, keep skin cool, and prevent makeup from sliding down your face…

So starting from the top, for hair protection I have the Phytoplage Original Protective Sun Oil (£17.00 at John Bell & Croyden) – this is a luxurious hair oil that’s perfect for protecting dry and damaged hair that has been weakened by the effects of sun exposure. It includes a natural UV filter and nourishes and moistures the hair so becomes soft and supple.

And the Phytoplage Huile Protective Sun Veil (£16.00 at John Bell & Croyden) – for those with normal to dry hair, the Protective Sun Veil offers an invisible UV filter including Sunflower Extract, Illipe Extract, White Lotus Extract and Sweet Almond to protect, hydrate and nourish hair.

If the dreaded summer frizz is a problem for you, Kerasilk have some fantastic products that can help. The Kerasilk Control De-Frizz Primer (£21.50 at Goodwill Salons) is packed with Keratin and Liquid Silk to instantly tame frizz & flyaway’s whilst working to protect against heat & humidity. And the Kerasilk Control Humidity Barrier Spray (£21.50 at Goldwell Salons) – shields styled hair from high humidity to block frizz, whilst giving a shiny, weightless finish.

Onto skincare now, the RMK Skintuner Cooling Gel – (£32.00 at Selfridges) is perfect for calming and refreshing the skin. It has a light gel formula that melts into the skin, absorbing quickly and leaving a smooth finish, without any stickiness. It contains extracts of Citrus and Bilberry, which permeate the skin, protecting against dryness, whilst helping to retain moisture.

For a cheaper alternative, the L’Oreal Hydra Genuis Moisturiser for Sensitive Skin (£9.99 at Boots) is a fantastic affordable moisturiser. Inspired by Asian skincare, Hydra Genuis promises to deliver pure moisture that penetrates quickly, deeply and continuously, without overloading the skin. It contains Aloe Vera Sap and Hyaluronic Acid to instantly refresh the skin and lock in moisture. This has a very similar texture to the above Skintuner Cooling Gel, and also promises to release continuous hydration for up to 72 hours.

I’ve also been loving the Uriage Eau Thermale Water (£8.50 at John Bell & Croyden) – this is a skincare water that you just spritz on your face whenever you want a cooling and refreshing hit. The formula contains trace elements and Mineral Salts, to moisturise, and it helps to sooth sensitive skin thanks to its high content of Calcium and Magnesium Salts.

And lastly the Bioderma Photoderm Bronz SPF50 Invisible Mist (£24.00 at John Bell & Croyden) – I have to say it really doesnt get better than this for sun protection. This invisible mist for face and body offers super high SPF50 protection combined with a 100% transparent, non oily and non sticky texture. It’s also alcohol free, doesnt dry the skin and helps to prolong your tan – what more could you need?

For makeup, the Cover FX Custom Blot Drops (£34.00 at Space NK) – are definitely worth a shot if you suffer with oily skin. These matifying drops work to control excess oil, reduce shine and clear pores. They also contain light diffusing particles to reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores whilst Chamomile Extract soothes and tones the skins texture for a flawless matte finish. You can either apply the product direct to the skin, or mix in with your foundation or moisturiser to customise results.

I also have the Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder (£13.50 at Boots) – this super lightweight, translucent setting powder is perfect for locking makeup in place, and offers a smudge and water resistant finish for up to 16 hours. It has a microfine texture that is translucent upon application, meaning it doesn’t affect the colour of your foundation, and gives a velvety matte, natural looking finish.

Clarins also have a few new products that are perfect for combatting the hot weather. The Clarins Pore Perfecting Matifying Foundation (£28.00 at Clarins) – this foundation has a matte finish and acts like an ‘imperfection eraser’ by smoothing out fine lines and pores with its micro-beads made from Acacia Gum. It promises to leave skin refreshed, smooth and comfortable.

And I love the Clarins Pore Perfecting Matifying Kit (£33.00 at Clarins) – this super handy little kit contains everything you need to smooth and mattify your skin on the go. The palette opens to reveal a transparent pressed powder to smooth the skin and mask pores, as well as refillable mattifying papers to instantly absorb shine. This kit is definitely handy to keep in your handbag over the summer months.

I’d love to hear which beauty products you rely on when the weather heats up? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

August Beauty Favourites!

Posted on September 9, 2014

august-beauty-favourites-new

Hi Guys!

Ok I have quite a large list of favourites for August, some have been reviewed already and some I haven’t had a chance to yet, so I thought I’d tell you about them today. I also wanted to include my Christian Louboutin Nail Polish but I’VE LOST IT. I know, how do you lose an eight inch spiky nail polish? I’ve probably put it ‘somewhere safe’ and I’ll find it soon, I hope, but yeah that would have been included here! Otherwise I’ve got a good mix of makeup, skincare and fragrance to tell you about…

Alesha Rose Quartz EDT Fragrance* – Now I’m not often a fan of celebrity fragrances, actually if a celebrity brings out a perfume I’m more likely to look the other way, compared to a beauty or luxury brands (sorry I’m a it of a fragrance snob) So when I was sent this to try out I didn’t expect too much, simply due to my own preconceptions. But hand on heart I actually love this fragrance! It’s a pretty classic floral scent with notes of bergamot, grapefruit, rose, amber, patchouli and musk. It’s perfect for every day and it’s only £25 for a massive 100ml bottle so it’s going to last for ages, what a bargain! I’d definitely recommend trying this if you’re poking for a lovely every day fragrance that won’t break the bank.

Sleek i-Divine Eyeshadow Palette in Au Naturel* – I’m such a big fan of Sleek’s i-Divine palettes, they’re fantastic quality but with a budget price tag, and with ten shades per palette you have everything you need in a handy slim makeup bag sized palette. The shades in the Au Naturel palette are perfect for every day wear, with darker shades included too so you easily go from a day to evening look.

Sleek Lipstick in Liqueur* – This is my absolute perfect nude pink lipstick shade, I was actually surprised how much I loved this! It’s such a great colour for my pale skin tone, it warms up my complexion without being too dark. It looks really natural and just makes me feel a bit more polished.

Essie Nail polish in Sittin Pretty – I love this colour so much! It’s a bright neon cream shade of purple, it’s so summery, and yes I know it’s now Autumn but I’m not letting go of the summer just let! Plus as it’s a neon it looks great with a tan 🙂 – which I don’t have, I’m just saying in case you do have one!

Bioderma Hydrabio Exfoliating Cream and Moisturising Mask* – Bioderma are a brand new brand for me, I’ve never used their products before so when I was offered to try their Exfoliating Cream and Moisture Mask I was thrilled. I’ve heard many good things about Bioderma, and especially as these two products part of the Hydrabio range for dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin – check, check and check over here – they sounded perfect for me. The exfoliating cream contains patented Aquagenium technology which is a biological complex that stimulates the skin’s cellular capabilities, re-training it to generate in depth, and to lock in essential moisture. I found this scrub very effective and followed by the Moisturising Mask my skin was left feeling amazingly soft and supple. These products are definitely going to be purchased again!

So…? Fresh-Tival Gift Set* – This sweet little set contains two dry shampoos, one to freshen up and one for volume, and two body sprays. I threw the volumising shampoo and one of the body sprays in my bag an was quite surprised when I realised how many times I’ve reached for them in the last month. My hair is really fine, so it’s super handy to have a little bottle of volume in my bag for when I need it on the go!

YSL Fusion Ink Foundation – This foundation is EVERTHING. I won’t go into too much detail as you can read all about it in my review, but I genuinely believe this is the foundation release of the year. Whether you have dry, sensitive, oily or normal skin, I haven’t seen a bad review of this product yet. You need to try this.

Magnitone Lucid* – Since I’ve been using the Lucid, my skin has officially never felt cleaner. I don’t think I’l ever look back! Take a look at my review for all the details!

So that’s about it I for August! I could have put many more products in but you’d be reading  this forever! I’d love to hear which products you’ve been loving lately, and if there’s anything you think I should try this month? xxx
