Every Single Beauty Advent Calendar for Christmas 2018!

Posted on August 17, 2018

I know it’s only August, but news of 2018’s beauty advent calendars has already started to spread, so I thought it’s about time I gathered information on every single one so you can have a (hopefully) fully comprehensive list to refer to over the coming months.

The below list is in price order, starting with the groups (where a brand has more than one calendar) and then the lowest, and I’ll update info, dates and links as soon as I have the info myself – enjoy!

New Launches from Winky Lux!

Posted on July 10, 2018

This is my first ever experience of Winky Lux products, and I’m so excited to try them! Winky Lux is a relatively new brand, based in New York. They instantly rose to fame a few years ago due to their beautiful and unusual Flower Lip Balms, and the brand now offers a curated selection of innovative and cutely-packaged beauty products…

WINKY LUX strives to excite and delight with new trends, innovative packaging and luxurious ingredients and their latest launches are no exception. Saying “ Boy Bye” to parabens, sulfates, gluten, phthalates and animal testing, Winky Lux products are housed in ultra-dreamy, Instagram worthy packaging to bring you the ultimate in cosmetic indulgence. So sit back, grab a cuppa Joe and welcome these newcomers to the WINKY LUX stage…

First on the list is the rather gorgeously packaged White Tea Tinted Veil Moisturiser (£19.00) – This tinted moisturiser is infused with calming White Tea and Pomegranate extract to pamper and protect, and it also includes Vitamins A, & E nourish the skin. It has a lightweight formula, that provides a sheer hint of colour as well as protecting from UV rays with broad spectrum SPF30. Though this is a moisturiser, it gives coverage more light a light foundation. The finish is natural looking and perfect for the current hot weather. It comes in 5 shades, and I have Medium which is a little on the dark side for me, but I know it’ll be perfect for when I (if I ever) get a tan!

I also have the new Pucker Up Lip Plumper in Pink Lemonade – You’ll know what I mean when I say this is one of those ‘tingly’ plumping lip glosses. It applies clear and help gives lips an enhanced, plump feeling, and it also smells like lemonade! And one of the Disco Kitten Glosses in shade Foxy – this is a colour changing lip gloss that starts off as a clear base with orange-gold glitter flecks, then changes to a light pink tint when applied to the lips.

I also have three gorgeous lip balms – the Flower Balm (which isn’t a new launch) is Winky Lux’s best selling lip stain. It applies on clear an instantly reacts with your skin’s pH levels, to give your lips a unique pink tint. It also has a lovely coconut scent, and contains a real Chrysanthemum flower in the centre of the lipstick.

The Watermelon Jelly Balm has the same pH-activated ingredients as the Flower Balm, but this one has a gorgeous mouth-watering watermelon scent. It’s essentially a tinted lip balm that just looks super cute!

And lastly the Matcha Lip Treatment – this is a clear-finish, nourishing lip balm, designed to both protect and repair the lips. It contains Green Tea Powder to stimulate collagen production, Coconut Oil, which is naturally antibacterial and provides a protective moisture barrier while it nourishes, Avocado Oil which is a vitamin-packed, super food with long-lasting power, Vitamin C to help repair dry, chapped lips, and lastly Food-Grade Vanilla which makes the balm smell gorgeously edible. I’m in love with the scent of this balm, I think it’s my favourite out of the above products. I’ve used it a couple of times now and it really does leave my lips feeling amazingly soft.

The above products are all available now at Winky Lux, Boots and Free People.

Fashion: Autumn 2016 Accessories Update – Kurt Geiger / Skinnydip / ASOS

Posted on October 3, 2016

autumn-accessories-update-2016

Hi Guys!

It’s that time of year again where it’s starting to get cooler, the nights are drawing in and we’re all looking forward to Halloween! Yes Autumn is upon us, and I thought it was about time I did a little accessories update…

carvela-rink-boots

The pièce de résistance of my latest bunch of goodies is without doubt my brand new Rink boots by Carvela Comfort at Kurt Geiger. I LOVE Kurt Geiger shoes and boots, and yes I know they can be on the expensive side but they’re well worth it. I’ve pretty much been living in a pair of glittery Carvela flats until they wore out, so now winter is looming, I’ve been on the hunt for some more season-appropriate footwear.

I was so pleased when I came across the Carvela Comfort range – I hadn’t even realised it existed until I started hunting around the site. It basically offers all the fabulous styling of the Carvela brand, whilst making comfort a priority.

carvela-rink-boots-review

The gorgeous Rink Boots just jumped out at me – they’re made of soft black suede, with an awesome gunmetal grey sparkly glitter heel. I love that the heel is quite low (I can’t walk in high heels) making the boots look more dressy whilst still being comfortable.

And just look at this gorgeous scarf from Bianca Elgar! I’m a big fan of oversized scarves and wear them every autumn and winter – but silk scarves are new to me. I feel like this is more sophisticated than other scarves I have, and it feels gorgeous to wear. I can’t wait to pair this with some outfits!

nali-bag-with-stickers

I also treated myself to a new Nali Bag from ASOS. When it comes to bags, I like something spacious (to hold all my precious things) and I also like a grab handle as well as a long strap – so you have plenty of options you know! This bag by Nali stood out to me because it pretty much ticked all the boxes for me, and it was also in the sale – bonus!

I then happened to come across some awesome stickers on the Skinnydip site, and thought they’d go perfectly with my new bag! If you’re a fan of customising your clothes and accessories, you can see all Skinnydip’s awesome stickers, badges and pins here.

skinnydip-nope-bag

I also picked up this awesome Nope Hannah bag from Skinnydip while I was looking around the site. I love it so much!

pink-cat-pencil-case

And yes I know it’s technically not a fashion accessory, but I had to include my new Paperchase cat pencil case from ASOS! It’s just so cute!

And finally I also picked up this sweet little Primark Necklace when I was last in London. Its rose gold coloured with grey sparkly triangles – and it was only £3.00!

I’d love to hear how you’ve been updating your wardrobe for autumn? I  hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Six Fab Beauty Products That Won’t Break The Bank…

Posted on January 31, 2016

boots-beauty-box

Hi Guys!

I was recently sent over a fantastic box of beauty products that are new in at Boots, and I had no idea what was going to turn up – which was very exciting. So when the box arrived it was great to find a mixture of brands, including one which I’ve never tried, and a couple that I haven’t tried for a good few years too…

Collection-#YourStyleYourMood-Eyeshadow-Palette

First up is the Collection #YourStyleYourMood Eyeshadow Palette (£5.99) – Now I haven’t used Collection products in a loooong time, I mean, the last time I remember using them was when they were called Collection 2000 and I was in my teens. So even though I’m not familiar with their current products, I know they’re still a popular budget brand, and they also used to be one of the go-to brands back in the day for teens where I live too!

This dinky little palette comes in a cardboard casing, with matte and shimmer shades. The idea is that whatever your mood the #YourStyleYourMood Palette allows you to create the perfect eye look to reflect your style – I’d say it includes a nice selection of neutral colours that would work well for day time or evening, but there’s nothing in there that’s too outrageous – which I would have expected by the #YourStyleYourMood name. Maybe one or two brighter colours would have been a nice addition?

Loreal-Paris-Super-Liner-Perfect-Slim-eyeliner

loreal-perfect-slim-eyeliner-pen

Next is the L’oreal Paris Super Liner Perfect Slim (£6.99) – Now you know I do love a good eyeliner, and my weapon of choice is always a pencil or a pen version, so this is is right up my street. This Perfect Slim liner has a long, flexible nib, with a very fine point. It gives a fantastic intense black line, that’s easy to draw and define due to the long pointed nib. This is a fantastic eyeliner for creating a sharp cat-eye flick.

Eyelure-Party-Lashes-Frozen-Beauty

Next we have the Eyelure Party Lashes in Frozen Beauty (£6.95) – I don’t often wear lashes except for the odd night out (and I don’t get out that often these days!) but when I have worn lashes, Eyelure are my brand of choice. This is just because lashes are expensive, and rather than waste £5+ per set on something that I might not like, I know I can trust Eyelure to do the job.

These Frozen Beauty lashes feature a fluffy and full lash, interspersed with shimmering silver ribbon that catches the light beautifully. I love that Eyelure lashes are easy to apply and remove, and if you’re careful you can re-use them multiple times too.

Barry-M-Flawless-Chisel-Cheeks-Contour-Kit

Up next is the Barry M Flawless Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit (£6.49) – I’m so glad this was included in the box! I’ve been meaning to pick up a budget contour kit for ages, just out of curiosity as I always use my Anastasia palette and hadn’t tried any budget versions as yet.

The Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit is a handy little travel-sized palette, including a light powder to highlight, a bronzer to warm, and a dark powder to sculpt for a perfectly enhanced appearance. The shades are not too dark or intense – so perfect for those with paler complexions like myself, and the product can also be built up easily, so it would still work well if you were looking for a bit more depth of colour.

Sleek-Makeup-Precious-Metals-Highlighting-Palette

Next is the Sleek Makeup Precious Metals Highlighting Palette (£9.99) – I love Sleek Cosmetics, they’re one of my favourite, if not my actual favourite budget high street brand. They also keep coming up with gorgeous new products!

The Precious Metals Highlighting Palette is a fantastic versatile highlighting palette for use on both the face and body. It features three velvet cream highlighters and one powder highlighter which can be used in a multitude of ways to give skin a beautiful luminous glow.

These highlighters really do give the loveliest iridescent and metallic finishes, wether you’re looking for detailed highlight on the face, or an all-over body glow, this little kit will have the right highlight for you.

Nail-Apothecary-Gel-Effect-Top-Coat

And lastly, the Nail Apothecary Gel Effect Top Coat (£6.95) – Nail Apothecary is a brand new brand to me, that I hadn’t even heard of. They supply a range of nail care products, including various top coats, fillers and nail treatments. The Gel Effect Top Coat creates a plumping effect on the nails, giving a high shine, gel like look which is long lasting and chip resistant – a definite must have for fans of the DIY manicure!

boots-beauty-box-products

Well, I’m beyond impressed with this fab little selection of products, I haven’t used a couple of these brands for a while now and I’m so glad I’ve re-discovered them. I’d love to hear if you’ve tried any of these products?

I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx

10. Ted Baker Mini Golden Treasure Limited Edition (£4.00) – And lastly, I had to include Ted Baker, the king of gifting.
