Beauty: New Zoeva Palettes, Brushes & Brow Products

Posted on March 27, 2017

Hi Guys!

It’s Monday morning and the sun is shining – I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend?

I have some fantastic new products from Zoeva to share with you today – including new brushes, a load of brow products, and a gorgeous matte palette that has recently launched. Let’s take a look…

Starting with the new Matte Eyeshadow Palette (£17.50- currently out of stock) – This palette is just so beautiful – and the shades are very on trend at the moment. Inspired by the calmness and beauty of a night stroll through the silent streets of a sleeping city, this palette includes a selection of warm nudes, with an injection of bright tones in orange, coral and yellow shades.

At only £17.50, this makes each shadow only £1.75 per pan – you can’t get much better than that! The formula is excellent too, as expected from Zoeva – giving fantastic colour payoff that’s easy to work with and blend.

Zoeva really are all about the brows right now though, and they’ve just released a generous selection of brow products, so however you like style your eyebrows, they’ll have a product that works for you –

The Brow Spectrum Palette (£20.00 at BeautyBay) is described as the ultimate eyebrow kit to help you achieve flawless, professionally groomed arches. The palette features a range of highly pigmented brow powders that are easy to blend together to create customized shades. Zoeva have also added a couple of matte and shimmer highlighters to brighten the eye area and lift the arches, which is a really nice addition.

The Graphic Lash Mascara (£9.00 at BeautyBay) promises to thicken and lengthen lashes with its ultra-pigmented formula and a dense spiral brush, giving instant volume. It separates the lashes for maximum definition, and has a creamy, buildable texture which easily creates natural looking thickness, or layered up giveing you volumized curls.

And the Graphic Brow Fix (£8.50 at BeautyBay) is the perfect one-step product for those looking to both style and tint their brows in one go. The superfine spiral brush applies the gel product which ‘locks’ the brow hair in place whilst tinting it at the same time, leaving you with ultra-groomed and visibly thicker looking brows.

For eyebrows that pop, the Brow Light in Margarethe (£7.50 at BeautyBay) could be just what you need. This jumbo waterproof highlighting crayon gives a lovely, precise matte pearlised line that’s perfect for highlighting the brow bone, or inner corner of the eye.

And lastly the new Graphic Brows (£7.50 at BeautyBay) – if you’re looking for precise, sculpted brows, this is definitely the product for you. This super fine pencil offers a waterproof, smudge proof formula, that lasts all day. The retractable pencil creates precise strokes, mimicking the natural hair and filling in the brows with ease, while the spiral brush grooms into shape and softens the colour, giving a natural-looking, well defined brow.

And lastly, Zoeva have also added five new brushes to their ever-expanding brush collection, of which I have three…

The 137 Petit Fan Brush (£9.00 at BeautyBay) is a super dinky multi-tasking fan, perfect for applying highlighter to brow bone and cupid’s bow, and it’s also small enough to separate eyelashes and remove excess mascara.

The 117 Petit Defined Buffer Brush (£13.00 at BeautyBay) has a small, angled brush head which perfectly adapts to the contours of the face for the precise, comfortable application of foundation and concealer, this is specifically handy to use below the eyes and along the nose.

And the 135 Petit Face Definer Brush (£13.00 at BeautyBay) is another great brush for applying foundation, but this one is really suited more for blending out your concealer and setting loose powder around the eye area.

If you’d like to see any swatches or have any questions please do feel free to drop me a line on one of my social channels. Zoeva products are available now at BeautyBay.

Dior Skyline AW16 Collection: Nude Air Luminizer, Colour Correctors, Brow Chalk & More!

Posted on August 1, 2016

dior-aw16-collection

Hi Guys!

Dior’s AW16 Skyline collection really is to die for – I posted a couple of days ago about the new Mono Eyeshadows, and I have a few more products from the collection to share with you today…

To the Parisian “SKYLINE” Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup, gazed when seeking enlightenment for the AW16 collection. Like an architect for the face, this new makeup wardrobe explores shape, line and structure through the transformative nuances of shade, light and extraordinary optical illusions. From frosted beige to reddened browns, coppery pinks and glinting metallics, autumnal hues find order in state-of-the-art formulations that redefine beauty for the modern woman.

Diorskin-Nude-Air-Luminizer-Powder

Let’s start by looking at the stunning Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Powder in 001 (£39.00) – this is just the most gorgeous powder – please tell me I’m not the only one that doesnt actually want to use pretty products, because I don’t want to ‘ruin’ them?? Well I have used this and I don’t think I’ll be putting it down all summer! It’s the most wonderful champagne beige illuminating powder, perfect for highlighting both face and body – this is a must have for highlighter fans!

Diorshow-Brow-Chalk-review

Next I have the Diorshow Brow Chalk in 002 Soft Brown (£20.00) – now I’m the first to admit that I’m no expert at brows, so I’m always looking for a fool-proof product that I can apply quickly and easily, that just does the job without any fuss. The Diorshow Brow Chalk is a chunky brow pencil that combines the colour intensity of a pencil with the staying power of a wax. It fills and sculpts brows with ease – you can use the flat end of the product to cover a larger area, or use it on its edge to draw fine lines. This is available in three shades – 001 Blonde, 002 Soft Brown, and 003 Dark Brown.

Dior-Addict-Lipstick-review

I also have one of the Dior Addict Lipsticks (£26.50) from the collection – shade 777 Sensational is an intensely pigmented beautiful shimmery magenta pink. There are also two more lipstick shades in the Skyline collection – 951 Too Much, a bright red, and 927 Sophisticated, a deep brown.

Dior-Vernis-nail-polish-skyline-review

And the Skyline collection of nail polishes are just gorgeous. Dior Vernis (£19.50) in shade 848 Skyline is a wonderful warm reddish toned chocolate brown. These shades are inspired by the Parisian horizon on an autumn day, and as expected the rest of the shades on the collection are all nudes, including 112 Minimal, a marble beige, 522 Abstract, a stony taupe, and 818 Obscure, a dusky brown.

And lastly I have a couple of the Fix-It Colour Sticks (£23.50) – you’ll probably have noticed that colour correcting is one of the latest beauty trends, and Dior have included four lipstick-sized colour correcting sticks in this collection, to help you neutralise any colour issues you might be having –

Dior’s Fix-It Colour contains soft-focus agents to blur away imperfections, refine the skin’s surface texture and banish dullness.

  • 200 Apricot: warms dull skin, reducing dark spots, hyperpigmentation and shadowy circles. Perfect for olive skin tones.
  • 300 Yellow: smoothes away purple under eye shadows and visible blood vessels – then revives blue-toned lips that can alter the colour of lipstick. Ideal for pale skin.
  • 100 Blue: delivers targeted contouring, then evens out and energizes dull, yellow skin to renew its integral radiance.
  • 400 Green: neutralizes redness caused by heat, blemishes and spider veins.

There are also plenty more gorgeous products in this collection which I’d definitely advise you check out! There’s beautiful eyeshadow palettes, highlight and contour sticks, lip glosses and illuminating pens – get your wish-lists at the ready!

The New Benefit Brow Collection!

Posted on June 20, 2016

benefit-brow-collection-review

Hi Guys!

I have no doubt that you’ll have heard about Benefit’s amazing new range of brow products by now – the new Benefit Brow Collection contains 12 different products to preen and groom your brows to perfection, in a massive range of shades. The range includes literally everything you could need to create perfect brows, whether you like them natural, full, or sculpted to perfection, Benefit has just the right product to help you create your desired look…

benefit-brow-collection-review 2

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the packaging before we go any further?

Benefit really have pulled out the stops with this collection – the high shine futuristic silver packaging is like nothing I’ve ever seen before, and I love it! There are also clever additions to the products, such as Ka-BROW! below which has a brush incorporated into the product lid – so handy!

benefit-ka-BROW!-eyebrow-cream-gel-colour

Starting with the Ka-BROW! Eyebrow Cream-Gel Colour (£18.50) – This is just the dinkiest, niftiest little product I’ve ever seen! Ka-BROW! is basically a pot of cream gel eyebrow colour, with a handy brush hidden in the lid for easy application. The formula is waterproof for up to 24 hours, so you won’t need to worry about your statement brows smudging or disappearing throughout the day.

The product itself is perfect for filling in the brows, sculpting and defining shape. Ka-BROW! is perfect for creating a more dramatic brow look, and the hard-angled brush magically converts to a full-size brush for precise control & effortless application.

benefit-goof-proof-brow-pencil-review

Next the Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil (£18.50) – The Goof Proof Pencil is the perfect product for both the brow novice and expert alike, the point of this pencil is that it’s so easy to use, it’s pretty much fool proof. The pencil features a triangular shaped tip, so you can draw on precise hairs with the point, and fill in the brows with the flat side. It has a twist up mechanism too, so no sharpener required, and the other end of the pencil has a handy spoolie brush to groom and brush through brows for a polished finish.

benefit-gimme-brow-review

And the Gimme Brow Volumising Eyebrow Gel (£18.50) – This tinted gel contains tiny microfibers that adhere to skin & hair, perfect for creating natural-looking fullness and definition. This is very much like a mascara, but for your brows and with a tiny brush – I found that it did in fact thicken up the hairs so they looked fuller and slightly darker, but as my brows are quite fine and sparse, I didn’t actually fill in the gaps like the Ka-BROW! gel or the Goof Proof Pencil. This brow gel would be perfect for those looking for a more natural look, as it volumises and tints without appearing heavy.

benefit-BROWVO!-conditioning-eyebrow-primer

And lastly the BROWVO! Conditioning Eyebrow Primer (£21.50) – First we had primer for your face, then your eyelashes, and now your brows! With brows becoming the latest in thing in beauty, it definitely makes sense to prime and condition them to keep them in top top condition.

This primer has a clear gel formula to suit everyone and anyone – and you can wear it alone to condition and smooth brows, or as a primer to enhance and extend the wear of other brow products. This conditioning formula of BROWVO! contains keratin & soy proteins to help brows appear thicker, healthier and fuller.

benefit-brow-products-review

Though I’ve only tried four products from the range, I think my favourite has to be Goof Proof – I love how quick and easy it is to use, and it also lasts for up to 12 hours, so I don’t need to worry about my brows looking anything less than fabulous throughout the day 😀

The full Benefit Brows Collection will be available from 24/06/16 at Benefit Cosmetics.

The Weekly Top 5 #11

Posted on July 12, 2015

the-weekly-top-5-no-11_edited-1

Hi Guys!

You’ve probably noticed I’ve had a few weeks off from my weekly Sunday posts, well now I’m back in the game and determined to post my weekly roundup EVERY SUNDAY. Yep I’m determined. Ok so this week I’ve been pretty busy – I’ve been settling into my new job, which is going really well, and I’ve also been having lots of fun in the sun with Fred, playing in his new massive paddling pool at my parents house!

I’ve also been attempting to sort out my ridiculous makeup and skincare stash – I have a slight hoarding problem but I NEED to get over it and throw away, give away and sell a load of stuff. My office is being taken over by products, so I’ve started sorting through everything, and I’m aiming to be finished by the end of the week. I’ll hopefully be doing a blog sale with some of the items I no longer want, so keep an eye out for this next week!

And lastly, my massive £700 giveaway has also just ended, and the winner has just been emailed – thanks so much to everyone that entered! If you missed out this time though don’t worry, I have another giveaway that’s just gone live where you can win a 12 month Glossybox subscription!

This week’s favourites –

As we’ve been out in the sun a lot lately, I’m always careful to use sunscreen. I’m really quite pale, and Fred is even fairer than me, so I’ve been making sure we’re both creamed up! I’ve started using La Roche Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50 Comfort Cream (£15.50) this week and it really is a great product. I love that this cream has a super high SPF of 50, as well as being specially formulated for sensitive and sun intolerant skins. It’s easy to apply, moisturising, and non greasy. This cream ticks all the boxes for me!

La Roche Posay also has a really sweet video on Youtube, reminding you to help check your loved ones beauty spots and moles –

Another favourite product from this week has been the Silk Oil of Morocco Fibre Brow Enhancer (£19.99) Now I must admit, as much as I love makeup, from buying it to applying it, I’ve always been a bit lacking in the brow skills department. I usually just give them a quick once over with a brow pencil – and they never look particularly amazing. I just took it that brows wern’t my thing! Anyway, the Fibre Brow Enhancer recently arrived in the post and it’s been a lifesaver! It’s basically super tiny fibres that you brush onto your brows to make them look fuller and thicker. I have really fine and sparse brows so this is definitely the product for me. You literally just apply directly to your brows with the want provided, it takes no time at all, and the product ‘sets’ in 60 seconds too which is handy, and can be removed easily with warm water.

I’ve also been using the Bio Clinica Plus Beauty Treatment (£9.95) this week. This moisturiser is composed of a combination of valuable mineral extracts – from pearls, silk and crystals along with clinically proven plant substances. This is a specially formulated anti-ageing product that protects from dry skin, loss of elasticity, the forming of wrinkles, age related redness, and fatigued eyes. Now I’m the wrong side of 30, I’m up for trying any product that promises to help with the signs of ageing! This Bio Clinica cream contains collagen, aloe vera, allantoines, bisabolol, soy and sesame oil, which can contribute to tightening and firming the skin. I haven’t been using this product very long at all, but I already feel that my complexion is looking brighter!

My drink of choice this week appears to have been Lucozade Pink Lemonade, I have no idea why but I can’t get enough of it at the moment! 🙂

And lastly, my latest Netflix obsession has been Rupaul’s Drag Race! I remember watching one of the first seasons a long time ago, so when I saw this pop up on my recommended list I had to take a look. The queens were just fabulous, as expected, and I just love everything about this show – the divas, the dramas, the ridiculous and amazing makeup and outfits, and especially when when they have to ‘Lip synch… for your life’. If you haven’t seen this series yet you need to check it out!

Other things worth mentioning –

I’ve just had three Colourpop Lippie Stix arrive! YAY! If you haven’t heard of Colourpop they’re a cheap as chips US brand that have been taking the beauty word by storm, with their massive range of affordable products. Just take a look on Youtube and you’ll see what I mean. Colourpop currently only ship to the US though, so I bought these second hand from my #Bbloggers Beauty Swaps and Sales Facebook group and I’m so excited! Keep your eye out for a review coming up very shortly.

And lastly I wanted to include a mention of one of Hayley LBQ’s latest posts – the 30-Something Blog Collective. Hayley has recognised there really is a massive collective of bloggers aged 30 and over, but blogging is still seen as a youngsters game. She wants to let the world know that WE ARE HERE! We have a voice, and we’re not afraid to tell you what we like and what we don’t like. Take a look at her post for all the details 🙂

I hope you’re having a great weekend and that you enjoyed my post xxx
