Recalling Happy Memories with Anya Hindmarch Candles!

Posted on August 6, 2018

I was SO excited when I heard that Anya Hindmarch was launching a range of candles – Anya Smells. I love the brand so much, it’s so playful and fun, and it’s just what fashion should be about if you ask me. Unfortunately though, my wallet doesn’t quite reach Anya Hindmarch prices (cue sad face) so when Anya Smells launched their first ever range of candles – that were also reasonably affordable (compared to AH fashion products), I knew this would be the perfect opportunity for fans of the brand to own their very own piece of Anya Hindmarch!

Anya Smells is a collection of twelve candles that are inspired by scents that evoke happy memories for Anya: Washing Powder, Toothpaste, Lip Balm, Sun Lotion, Baby Powder and Coffee. Part of an ongoing commitment to recreating the everyday in an extraordinary way, each fragrance has been created using the finest raw materials and the candles are hand-poured in England.

I love that the scents are based on smells we can all recognise – and many will bring back our own fond memories of youth and childhood. I mean I love a nice fancy scented candle, but to create a candle with a scent that’s deliberately made to evoke happy memories, that has a mass appeal, and then to team this up with Anya Hindmarch’s fun and positive branding, I think it’s just genius!

I have three of these gorgeously fun candles to share with you today –

First up is Lip Balm – this candle is inspired by first kisses, with notes of dark cherry, plum flesh, pomegranate seeds, night-blooming Egyptian jasmine, Japanese cherry blossom, Iris from Florence, rose, French vanilla, tonka bean and musk. This candle really does smell just like an elevated version of the classic cherry lip balm scent – I love it! This is definitely my favourite fragrance out of the three candlesI have ūüôā

Next, Washing Powder – Inspired by the smell of sun-dried laundry, notes of Calone, violet leaf, cucumber, watermelon rind, Persian galbanum, Australian mimosa, Hyacinth, pine needles, first-bloom crocus and honeysuckle, combine with freshly-made beds and missing socks to create this ozonic floral scent. This one just takes me back to my childhood, it’s such a lovely, warm, clean fragrance.

And lastly Coffee –¬†Inspired by early mornings, the Coffee candle blends notes of caf√© abs, galbanum from Iran, cardamom from India, vetiver, patchouli, Virginia cedar wood, tonka bean, frankincense and amber with birdsong and waiting taxis to create a dark and woody scent that evokes the smell of freshly-brewed coffee. I’m bit of a funny one, because I absolutely love the smell of coffee, but hate the taste. This candle smells of gorgeous rich coffee, and makes me think of my husband.

There are also a few more candles in the range: Baby Powder, Tooth Paste and Sun Lotion (I love the smell of sun lotion, so this one really appeals to me). I really just love everything about these candles, the look is playful and kitsch, the fragrances are different to any other candles around, and there’s just something very comforting about such familiar scents, making you think of home, childhood, and family. If you’re as mad about candles as I am, you NEED these in your life!

Anya Smells candles are available now at Feel Unique.

The Father’s Day Luxury Gift Guide

Posted on June 15, 2018

Father’s Day is almost upon us, and I’ve gathered together a few fantastic luxury gift ideas if you’re looking to treat someone special. I’ve included an array of fragrances, skincare, gift sets, tech and more. Enjoy!

Firstly I have this beautifully understated¬†Daniel Wellington Watch¬†– featuring a simple white face, with a gold bezel and navy blue leather strap. This watch would make the perfect Father’s Day gift – and if you’re interested, you can currently save ¬£34.00 when you purchase from Browns Family Jewellers, just click on the above link!

On to fragrance now, I have quite a fabulous selection to share with you! Starting with a couple of niche scents РAmouroud Oud Tabac is described as deliciously intoxicating and unforgettable. The fragrance opens with spicy top notes of coriander and ginger, alongside saffron and sweet heliotrope. At the heart is an accord of oud, olibanum and amber wood, followed by an oriental base with toasted-caramel notes of vanilla bourbon, musk and Alaskan cedar wood. This is a stunningly addictive and unforgettable scent, perfect for for the more refined gent.

And Prudence Paris Alexandre EDT –¬†The inspiration for this fragrance was Prudence’s father, Alexander who had a distinguish career as an officer in the Australian Navy. Spices permeate all aspects of the olfactory triangle starting with top notes of cardamom, mugwort and mint, before developing into a heart of orange blossom spiced with cinnamon and cumin. The final notes are a heady mixture of sandalwood and cedar, tinged with powdered notes of vanilla, amber and tonka bean¬†at the base.

Fans of the brand will know you can’t beat L’Occitane for gorgeous gift sets, and the L’Occitane Cologne Cedrat Collection is perfect for Father’s Day. The Cedar scent is refreshing, energising and masculine,¬†blending citrus notes of cedrat with icy cool¬†mint and woody spices. The gift set contains 75ml¬†L’Homme Cologne Cedrat EDT,¬†250ml L’Homme Cologne Cedrat Shower Gel Body & Hair and¬†130ml L’Homme Cologne Cedrat Spray Deodorant. All housed in a luxury¬†L‚ÄôOccitane gift box.

Now for something a bit different, how about The Personal Barber Shaving Subscription? You can purchase a single box (which includes everything above) or sign up for a subscription, where the recipient will receive a premium selection of classic wet shaving goods delivered to their door every six weeks. I think this is a great idea!

For music loving dads, the RHA Audio MA550 Headphones are a fantastic investment. Combining elegance and comfort without compromise, the MA650 are wireless, premium bluetooth in-ear headphones, designed for seamless compatibility; whether exercising, travelling, working or relaxing. The headphones feature a massive 12 hour battery life from a single charge, they are moisture, sweat and stain resistant, and offer enhanced audio with aptX and AAC streaming.

I always think cufflinks make a lovely gift, and these smart yet fun Paul Smith Cufflinks¬†would make a wonderfully colourful addition to any Dad’s wardrobe. Crafted from silver toned brass, the cufflinks are adorned in a multi-coloured button design, complete with enamel plating and classic t-bar fastening.

Back to fragrances, next on the list is Laboratory Perfumes Amber EDT¬†–¬†Warm, sophisticated and distinctive, this fragrance evokes Britain’s country and coast with its complex scent that evolves on the skin, this fragrance is designed to follow you through your day with top notes of grass and greenery that matches the energy of the morning, the scent then matures into the rich spices at the heart and finally warm and earthy undertones of wood and balmy ambergris¬†at the base exude a more subdued and reflective tone of the evening. I think my Dad would love this scent!

And YSL La Nuit De L’Homme EDP¬†–¬†Playing on contrast and overdose, Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit De L’Homme Parfum is a woody oriental fragrance opening with a fresh burst of bergamot and anise, immediately followed by the spicy, virile warmth of black pepper. Notes of lavender and labdanum release all their power to the trail, with the sensuality of patchouli and vanilla.¬†Vetiver adds the final note to a stunning and unique fragrance.

How about the Urban Apothecary London Oriental Noir Candle РDaringly dark, this sumptuous fragrance entwines extraordinary floral notes with soft spices and wood. Infusing perfumed particles of powdered white orchid and lily intensified by spicy nutmeg and clove, it has an intoxicatingly smooth base of coffee, patchouli leaves and black vanilla pods to bring a lasting and luxurious depth to the scent. Hand poured and stirred by skilled artisans, it is encased in a black glass holder and is made from natural soy wax.

And lastly for fragrance, Dior Sauvage EDP¬†(available at Demenhams) is definitely worth considering. Inspired by the desert in the magical hour of twilight, the¬†powerful freshness of ‘Sauvage’ exudes new sensual and mysterious facets. The scent opens with notes of juicy¬†Calabrian bergamot, and the woody ambery trail of Ambroxan is wrapped in the smoky accents of vanilla absolute – this scent would really make a fantastic gift.

Sipsmith London Dry Gin¬†from Debenhams¬†would also be very well received (in my opinion!) This is gin made the way it used to be. Sipsmith London Dry Gin was born out of a desire to see gin production return to the city where it earned its name. With a nod to traditional hand crafted production, this gin combines traditional copper pot distillation with a recipe that wouldn’t look unfamiliar to an eighteenth century Master Distiller. Bold, complex and aromatic smooth enough for a Martini, yet rich and balanced – perfect for a refreshing G&T.

Or maybe this rather nice Ted Baker Hip Flask Рso Dad can enjoy is favourite tipple on the go? This flask is wrapped with navy blue faux leather and includes two stainless steel shot cups which sit comfortably within the popper lid Рthis is a fun accessory for nights out.

And lastly, what would a luxury gift guide be without Tom Ford? In fact I’ve only recently realised Tom Ford has his own For Men collection, including a selection of skincare and grooming products…

Tom Ford Noir Extreme EDP is a stunning scent, perfect for those wanting to make a statement. An enhanced version of the signature Tom Ford Noir Spray, Noir Extreme EDP is a bold and sophisticated woody-oriental fragrance Рthis is definitely one my husband would love!

Tom Ford For Men Purifying Face Cleanser РThis water-activated, foaming gel cleanser has been developed to condition while it cleanses. Its lightweight formula conditions and hydrates the skin as it unclogs pores and prepares skin for a smooth shave. It rinses beautifully without drying, so your face looks and feels smooth, refreshed and energised.

And lastly the Tom Ford For Men Brow Gelcomb¬†–¬†Exclusively designed for men’s brows, the Tom Ford For Men Brow Gelcomb Defines Brows into a natural, healthy shape essential for the polished and sophisticated look preferred by Mr. Ford. With a specially designed precision comb and easy-to-use twist up applicator, the lightweight gel easily glides onto hair to tame and set brows into place. In a universally flattering tinted hint of colour, the brow Gelcomb adds shine and can be used on all hair colours and skin tones.

  • Top Notes: Frangipani and Honey
  • Heart notes: Tuberose and Ylang Ylang
  • Base notes: Vetiver and Vanilla

Continuing with fragrance, niche scents really have stolen my heart this year, and Olfactive Studio Close Up¬†is¬†definitely a fragrance that should be on your radar. Close Up is in fact a collaboration between Olfactive Studio and¬†established¬†photographer Suren Manvelyan. It’s an intense dark woody gourmand fragrance, with notes of¬†boozy and bitter sweet Cherry Liqueur, cool Star Anise and Green Coffee, which then gradually descends into a dark heart of Rose, Atlas Cedar, Patchouli and Amber, with a base of¬†Ambergris, Musk and Tonka Beans.

  • Top Notes: Cherry, Coffee and Star Anise
  • Heart Notes: Atlas Cedar, Centifolia Rose, Patchouli and Tobacco
  • Base Notes: Ambergris, Musk and Tonka Beans

And lastly for fragrance, Jovoy Rose¬†Mill√©sim√©e¬†is another niche scent that is definitely worth trying.¬†Rose¬†Mill√©sim√©e is an ode to¬†Centifolia Rose, described as an¬†olfactory metaphor for a moment frozen in time, the reflection of a story, a region and a tradition of craftsmanship. This is easily the most beautiful rose fragrance I’ve ever had the pleasure of smelling – it’s a must try for fans of rose scents.

  • Top Notes: Spices
  • Heart Notes:¬†Rose
  • Base Notes:¬†Musk

Back to makeup now, this Givenchy Icon Box Palette is just perfect for somebody that loves their makeup conveniently packaged. This super chic glossy black box contains a selection of Givenchy makeup essentials, including eyeshadows, blush and highlighters on one side, and lip gloss, eyeliner and mascara on the other, with a handy mirror in the centre.

And last but not least, the SUQQU Designing Colour Eyeshadow Palette¬†is a fantastic alternative to more ‘mainstream’ branded palettes. It includes four shades¬†that can be used induvidually or layered effortlessly with perfection, to give natural definition to the eyes. I have the palette in 113¬†Hikarisango, which features a¬†shimmering champagne highlight and vibrant coral hue, contrasted with a deep burgundy and brick brown. This is definitely one for fans of luxury makeup.

I’d love to hear if you’re picking up and luxury or high end beauty treats this Christmas? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

We Wish You a Merry Kitschmas!

Posted on December 8, 2017

Hi Guys!

So Christmas is finally upon us! I’ve put together a nice little tabletop scene today so I can show you some of my favourite fun and colourful Christmassy decorations and festive bits and bobs.

If you know me, you’ll know I love anything fun, colourful, silly and kitsch, and I love that more and more fun Christmas decorations pop up every year. Read on to find out where all my festive goodies came from…

Ok so to start with, my Champagne Sequinned Tablecloth was very reasonably priced at ¬£13.99 from Amazon¬†– apparently it was reduced from ¬£188 which I find pretty unbelievable! Anyway, I’ve actually picked up quite a few Christmas decorations from Amazon this year, and managed to snag some great bargains. Another one is the Iridescent Metallic Shimmer Curtain (showing hanging in the background) – this was only ¬£3.99 from¬†Amazon¬†and well worth it to add a bit of colour and flair to a wall or doorway.

I’m also in love with this luxury¬†Flower Lady Candle¬†which I’ve recently received from¬†Chase & Wonder. It very much reminds me of my favourite candle brand, Fornasetti, with its pretty face design. The Flower Lady Candle, however is very reasonably priced at ¬£28.00, and has a lovely scent of fresh flowers including notes of red rose petals, cassis, wild berries and galbanum.

I absolutely adore festive floral arrangements, and the selection of Christmas stems, artificial flowers, garlands and wreaths available at Amara this year are just stunning. Wether you’re looking for a more traditional look, or tend to lean toward the eclectic, there’s plenty of choice, and you know that Amara will never let you down in terms of quality.

I have a beautiful Metallic Maple Leaf Stem in champagne silver and a gorgeous Blue Poinsettia – both are pretty large and are perfect for making a grand floral statement!

While I’m talking about Amara, the gorgeous¬†blue and pink gradient Candlestick¬†in the background also came from them – ¬†it’s just so fun and unusual, and of course not forgetting the absolutely bonkers¬†Glittery Cactus¬†– what could be more festive!? ūüėÄ

Another great place for decorations is H&M Рhave you seen their home section? They have loads of home accessories at reasonable prices. I recently picked up this cute little Rabbit Candlestick (you can just see this in front of the cactus) as well as a couple of cute silver and gold Star Tree Decorations.

I also have this fantastic Geo Glass (£14.99 at Root7) Рtaking inspiration from modern terrariums with a unique angular shape, this gorgeous drinking glass is made from thick hand blown glass, and can also be used to beautifully display your favourite mini plants!

When it comes to kitsch Christmas decorations, Paperchase is definitely where it’s at. If you love anything fun and colourful and just a bit mad you NEED to get on their site. They currently have a 3 for 2 offer on selected Christmas Ornaments, as well as quite a few other offers on. Go on and take a look – trust me you won’t be disappointed!

Also, don’t forget your local supermarket! I think they’re really upping their game this year in terms of Christmas decor. I picked this Glittery Reindeer up from my local Morrisons for only a couple of pounds, and they also had lots of other fun decorations on offer other than the bog standard tinsel and baubles, which was great to see.

And last but not least ‚Äď I‚Äôve actually been both busy and unwell of late, and I completely forgot I had this gorgeous giant advent calendar rom¬†Niederegger¬†to tuck into, which takes you right through to the 1st January with an assortment of 40 mini marzipan bites, pralines and truffles! If you haven‚Äôt heard of Niederegger, they‚Äôre a world famous German brand since 1806 who sell luxury marzipan based confectionary and have a famous caf√© in the city of Lubeck. If you‚Äôre a fan of marzipan you should check out some of their other offerings at¬†Chocolates Direct¬†and various stockists nationwide.

So what do you think? Do you love fun crazy decor like me, or are you more traditional? I’d love to hear what your Christmas Decor style is, and where you pick your decorations up from?

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Lifestyle & Beauty: Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Posted on March 21, 2017

Hi Guys!

I’m not sure how on earth it’s almost Mother’s Day already – didn’t Christmas just happen? Anyway, Mother’s Day is right around the corner so I thought I’d gather together a few lovely gift ideas to hopefully give you some inspiration. I’ve tried to include a bit of everything here to cover a range of budgets – Enjoy!

Starting off with some beautiful rose gold jewellery from Ted baker – the Ted Baker Ceanna Cuff Bracelet¬†& Edda Bow Necklace (¬£17.50 each at¬†Amara) are such good bargains, I had to include them. They’re both half price at the moment (¬£17.50 rather than ¬£35.00 each) which really is a fantastic bargain.

The Ceanna Gem Frame Cuff Bracelet is made from brass with rose gold coloured plating, it features a gem frame design and is enhanced with Swarovski crystal embellishments. And the Edda Bow Necklace also has a rose gold finish, with a super cute baby pink bow pendant.

I also had to include the lovely Ted Baker¬†Hat Box Gift Set¬†(¬£18.00 at¬†Boots) –¬†This decorative hat box¬†contains a 200ml refreshing body wash, a large 250ml shimmering body souffl√© and a mini bath scrunchie. The box is also very pretty and would be great to keep or to use for future gifting.

Next I have this super sweet Cupcake Kit (¬£24.99 at¬†Amara) – this handy kit contains everything you need to bake and decorate 8 cupcakes. Inside the box is a¬†pastry bag, 7 pastry tips, 1 pastry clip, 8 re-usable silicone cupcake cups and 1 recipe booklet,¬†featuring step-by-step instructions for using the pastry bag and creating delicious cupcakes. I’m looking forward to trying this set out with my son very soon! ūüôā

The Swash London Floral Meadow Notebook (£12.50 at Amara) is another half price find in the Amara sale. This fun and colourful notebook has plain pages and a hardback cover, finished with a hot pink elasticated bank closure and a matching ribbon marker.

Clarins have also recently brought out some lovely products which would make wonderful Mother’s Day gifts. The¬†Clarins¬†Tender Moments Collection¬†is a mini collection of products in cute, limited edition packaging.

The Skin Illusion Blush¬†(¬£16.00 at¬†House of Fraser) is a handy little product that’s perfect to give cheeks a pop of colour. I love the compact style of the packaging, and Clarins has also incorporated a mirror onto the lid which is a really nice touch. The formula¬†contains active plant ingredients which offer added comfort and radiance on application, and I love that the product is super easy to apply with the integrated sponge.

And the Daily Energizer Lovely Lip Balm¬†(¬£16.00 at¬†House of Fraser) – rather than just a bog standard lip balm, this nifty little product contains an ‘intelligent pigment’ which¬†reacts with the lips‚Äô pH to develop a personalised natural pink shade. The balm also promises to¬†repair and nourish whilst the peachy fragrance smells good enough to eat.

For Mum’s that like a¬†brew, the Silken Pyramids Selection Box Set (¬£22.00 at¬†Newby Teas) is the perfect set for branching out into new tea flavours. This luxury selection box¬†is filled with silken pyramids which have been individually wrapped for freshness. There are four beautifully-aromatic¬†infusions to choose from, including:¬†¬†Jasmine Princess, Strawberry & Mango, Hunan Green and Rooibos Orange.

For mums in need of a pamper (hands up!) the La Source Collection (from £6.00 at Crabtree & Evelyn) is definitely worth checking out.

The La Source collection draws inspiration from the restorative powers of the sea, and is carefully designed to restore, condition and rejuvenate the skin from head to toe. Formulated with a blend of ingredients such as underwater algae, mineral salts and seaweeds the products in this collection allow you to escape everyday life and immerse yourself in spa-like rituals.

Of the above products so far I’ve tried the beautiful¬†La Source EDT fragrance, and the¬†Refreshing Body Mist. They both smell wonderfully light and refreshing, and I think any mums in need of some me-time would love to receive these this Mother’s Day.

I’m pretty sure I¬†can’t plan a gift guide without including a candle! This Cat Candle (¬£45.00 from¬†Lush Designs) is just so unusual and striking, I think cat lovers and candle fans would both love it. The candle itself is available in a either lavender or rosemary & watermelon¬†scents, and it’s housed in a wonderful bone china container,¬†decorated with cats and¬†embellished with pure gold lustre.

For fans of skincare, the Foreo Luna 2 (¬£169.00 at Foreo) would make a fantastic gift. It is expensive, but in my opinion it’s worth the splurge when you consider how much use you’d get out of it.

The LUNA 2 is an enhanced T-Sonic face brush and anti-aging system that gives you a completely personalized cleansing, and it’s now available with four specialized brush types for a tailor-made skin care experience. I won’t go into too much detail here, but please check out my previous review if you’d like to hear more about the Foreo Luna 2.

Another one of my favourite brands for gifting is Molton Brown, and their new¬†Exquisite Vanilla & Violet Flower Shower Gel & Lotion Gift Set (¬£45.00¬†at¬†Molton Brown) really would make a wonderful Mother’s Day gift. This limited edition bath and body set blends¬†notes of creamy vanilla over delicate floral scents of violet flower and orris, to create a stunning fragrance. The set is presented with a grosgrain bow and violet-hued metallic caps in an exquisite limited edition Mother‚Äôs Day gift box.

For a budget option, this Exquisite Choices Gift Set (£12.95 at Pretty Little Treats) is just so girly and pretty. The handcrafted set contains four pampering treats: a mini pot of hand cream, a lip balm, a bath treat, and a matchbox solid perfume bar. The products are all beautifully packaged, and presented in a luxury box which is perfect for gifting.

On to fragrance now, DKNY¬†Be Tempted Eau So Blush (¬£50.00 for 50ml at¬†House of Fraser) is a wonderfully fresh and sparkling fragrance that’s perfect for Spring. Be¬†Tempted Eau So Blush opens with an¬†invigorating blend of Pink Grapefruit infused with juicy Blood Orange and succulent Red Currant, whetting the appetite with mouthwatering notes. With a playful allure, Pink Peony, sensual Jasmine and Cedar Wood at the heart lead to a base of rich Creamy Woods, Apricot and Musk.

  • Top Notes: Pink Grapefruit, Blood Orange, Magnolia and Red Currant.
  • Heart¬†Notes: Peony, Jasmine and Cedarwood.
  • Base¬†Notes: Creamy Woods, Apricot and Musk.

I’ve also included¬†Estee Lauder Modern Muse Nuit EDP¬†(¬£70.00 at¬†House of Fraser)- this floral woody oriental scent¬†blends sophisticated floral tones with creamy woods to create a beautiful contrasting¬†accord¬†that is lushly vibrant yet luxuriously warm. More of an evening fragrance than the original Modern Muse, this scent is opulent, glamorous and sensual.

  • Top Notes:¬†Mandarin and¬†Bourgeon de Cassis.
  • Heart¬†Notes:¬†Chamomile,¬†Jasmine Absolute,¬†Jasmine Sambac China and¬†Heliotrope.
  • Base¬†Notes:¬†Sandalwood,¬†Clearwood,¬†Tonka Beans,¬†Madagascar Vanilla,¬†Musks and¬†Amber.

And I had to include this¬†Elie Saab Le Parfum Gift Set¬†(¬£49.30 at¬†Escentual) – I’m a massive fan of Elie Saab fragrances so I think this Le Parfum gift set would make a wonderful present for Mother’s Day. If you’re not familiar with the scent, Le Parfum is a beautiful, voluptuous and feminine fragrance. It¬†opens with a radiant Orange Blossom, leading to a heart of¬†elegant Jasmine¬†Absolute, combining with a pure, modern Patchouli. The base note unfolds into a Cedar Woody¬†Accord adding character and a lingering trail, while the Honey Rose envelops the composition in a beautifully addictive note.

The gift set includes: Le Parfum EDP 50ml, Le Parfum Scented Body Lotion 50ml, and an Elie Saab Red Clutch Bag.

  • Top Notes:¬†Orange Blossom.
  • Heart¬†Notes:¬†Jasmine Absolute and Patchouli.
  • Base¬†Notes:¬†Clear Woods and Honey Rose.

And lastly, I also wanted to show you this stunning fragrance from Vince Camuto: Fiori (¬£55.00 at¬†Debenhams). I just love Vince Camuto bottles, they’s so striking and would look just wonderful displayed¬†on a dressing table.¬†Fiori (meaning Flowers in Italian) is a fresh, light and ¬†uplifting fragrance featuring top notes of luscious Pink Grapefruit and ripened White Nectarine, a¬†heart of sheer Iris and dewy Freesia, leading to a¬†base of rich Sandalwood and creamy Blonde Cedarwood.

  • Top Notes:¬†Pink Grapefruit and¬†white Nectarine
  • Heart¬†Notes:¬†Iris and Freesia.
  • Base¬†Notes:¬†Sandalwood and Blonde Cedarwood.

I’m sorry this ended up being such a ling post – well done if you made it this far! I hope you have a lovely Mother’s Day whatever you do, and I hope you enjoyed my gift guide¬†xxx

Lifestyle: Luxury Valentine’s Gifting with Amara Living

Posted on February 9, 2017

Hi Guys!

Ok so following on from my earlier Valentine’s Gift Guide for Her, I’m really¬†excited as I have the second instalment of my Valentine’s gift guides ready for you now, and for this one I’m teaming up with one of my all time favourite home accessory and gift stores to bring you a very special¬†post…

Yes it’s Amara Living!¬†If you haven’t heard of Amara, they are a luxury home accessory store offering a fantastic range of wares, enabling¬†you to adorn your home with the most wonderfully decadent decor available. From soft furnishings, to lamps, to desk accessories, they literally have everything you could ever want or need for adding a touch of luxury to your home.

They stock some amazing designer brands including Versace Home, Missoni, Fornasetti, Kate Spade, Lalique and Mulberry Home to name but a few, and¬†I’ve been sent a few gorgeous products from Amara today to share with you – which would make fantastic Valentine’s gifts for a loved one – enjoy!

I have to start with the stunning¬†Fornasetti Silenzio Scented Candle. I’ve been a big fan of Fornasetti ever since I first discovered the brand a few years ago. This is the second candle I own now, and I like to think of this as the beginning of a collection. Fornasetti creates candles, vases,¬†plates, and other accessories, with striking, almost Dali-esque imagery that’s both beautiful and often quite surreal. The Silenzo candle I have here is pretty tame by Fornasetti’s standards and features a winking face on one side, and a ‘shhh’ finger to mouth face on the other. This is easily one of the most beautiful items I now own.

I know you wouldn’t exactly think of a tray as a gift – most of us would think of them as functional items, but this absolutely beautiful¬†Galerie De Portraits Buste Tray¬†really would make a fantastic and unusual gift for someone this Valentine’s day. The imagery actually reminds me of Fornasetti, being both classic yet striking. This would be perfect for displaying perfume bottles and candles on your dressing table.

I also wanted to include the above Kate Spade Notebook Set as the notebooks themselves are rather lovely, as well as being a total bargain. Kate Spade is a fantastic brand for gifting, and these super cute notebooks are now half price at only £7.00 in the Amara sale.

I’ve shared these flowers a couple of times on my social pages now, and each time someone has commented saying how stunning they are. These¬†Cote Noire Lillies & Roses¬†are just so beautiful, including blush pink roses and lilies in an adorned clear glass vase with a striking silver Cote Noir logo. From the outer packaging to the vase and flowers themselves, this really is the height of luxury gifting and¬†would make a fantastic Valentine’s present.

I should also mention that these flowers are fake – in case you weren’t sure. They’ve been skilfully¬†handcrafted, and are of exceptional quality. They also come with two 10ml fragrance spray bottles of¬†Spring Flower & Rose Petal scents, so you can spritz the petals and fragrance your home as and when you like.

And lastly, I have this lovely¬†Umbra Prisma Photo Display¬†– if you haven’t heard of Umbra, they’re another favourite brand of mine, making a large range of home accessories including¬†plenty of rose gold and geometric details, which is right up my street. I’ll be putting one of my wedding pictures in this frame very soon and having it on display in my kitchen –¬†I think it looks great!

So what do you think of my Amara Living gift ideas? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Lifestyle: Moi-Meme October Hygge Box Review

Posted on November 6, 2016

moi-meme-october-hygge-box-review

Hi Guys!

If you haven’t heard of¬†Moi-Meme, this¬†is a brand new quarterly lifestyle box which launched earlier this year, and I think this is only their second box. I love that each box has a theme – and¬†I have to admit I did google ‘hygge’ to find the exact meaning as well as how to pronounce it. I knew it was Danish, and it was some sort of new lifestyle trend, but wasn’t sure of the exact meaning…

So for those as in the dark as I was, Hygge (pronounced hoo-gah)¬†roughly translates to ‘cosiness’ but it actually means much more than that. Hygge¬†is a whole lifestyle concept,¬†where you take simple every day tasks and make them more meaningful –

Hygge; noun – a fundamental quality of Danish culture, Hygge cannot be translated using a single word. Rather, it includes many of the pleasures associated with everyday living – relaxing with friends, enjoying good food, and creating a cosy evening by lighting a candle or two.

The Mio-Meme Hygge box contains a fab selection of products aiming to help you feel warm and cozy this winter, as well as a couple of skincare and jewellery treats too –

  • Cosy Sleep Socks (¬£18.00)
  • Lavender Bag (¬£5.00)
  • Nuori Vital Foaming Cleanser 100ml (worth ¬£25.00)
  • Nuori Vital Eye Cream 5ml (worth ¬£16.66)
  • Edblad Monaco Bracelet (worth ¬£26.00)
  • The Bath Candle Company Somerset Apple & Cinnamon Candle (worth ¬£25.00)

Total value of box = ¬£115.66. Considering the box is ¬£49.95 per quarter, you’re definitely getting good value for money.

My favourite product in this box has to be The Bath Candle Company Candle – apart from looking super chic it also smells amazing! The scent is Somerset Apple & Cinnamon and it really smells to die for. I’ve just taken a look at their site and their other scents sound wonderful too. I think I’ll be popping their Orange & Chilli candle on my Christmas list!

Next are the Cosy Sleep Socks from Love Yawn. These socks are wonderfully¬†soft and include¬†a small amount of cashmere in the material, to give an element of luxury and comfort. Now the weather has gotten colder I’ve been wearing them in bed, and my toes have been¬†super toasty and warm.

I was really surprised to find a gorgeous bracelet in the box – this gorgeous Monaco Bracelet from Edblad of Stockholm is just so¬†delicate and pretty – and even if it’s not your style, it would make a fabulous Christmas gift.

There’s also a couple of skincare products in the box from Nuori. I haven’t heard of this brand before so looked them up and found out that they are in fact Danish, which of course goes nicely with the Hygge theme. What makes them different to every other skincare brand is they make small batches of products every 12 weeks – therefore each product is fresh¬†and includes less additives and preservatives thank your average skincare. You can read more about them here.

Their Vital Foaming Cleanser is a luxuriously creamy cleanser that removed makeup and impurities without stripping the skin of its natural oils, and the Vital Eye Cream sample is a lightweight eye cream that promises to hydrate the eye area whilst reducing the signs of ageing.

And lastly the Rainy Days Lavender Bag from Love Yawn.¬†This super cute fabric bag is filled with fragrant lavender, which is known for its calming and relaxing effects. You can with put this under your pillow to help you get a good night’s sleep, or throw in a drawer to keep your clothes smelling fresh.

I’m really impressed with the Moi-Meme Hygge Box – though it is on the expensive side, the products included are of fantastic quality, and it’s also worth remembering that this box is quarterly – which (when you consider shipping costs) makes it a similar cost to most monthly beauty boxes when you add up the price over a quarter.

The¬†Hygge box was so popular that unsurprisingly it has now sold out. So if you think this looks good and fancy signing up for Moi-Meme’s next box – if you¬†subscribe¬†before December 31st you will¬†receive your first box in January. I should mention however, that most¬†of the items from the Hygge box are still available to buy individually in the Moi-Meme shop, so definitely check that out if you like the look of these products.

You can also use code¬†TSNC5 to get ¬£5 off your¬†first box – this has no expiry date ūüôā
