Beauty News & Gossip 04/06/16: Jeffree Star / Grav3yard Girl / Christian Louboutin and more.

Posted on June 4, 2016

Hi Guys!

Following on from my Youtuber Collaborations post from a couple of weeks ago, I thought I’d follow up with another new and updated beauty news and gossip post – enjoy!

grav3yard-girl-tarte-collaboration-products

Starting off with the Tarte X Grav3yardgirl collaboration – it’s now been revealed that Bunny is releasing a rather gorgeous looking palette, which includes nine eyeshadows, and a blush, bronzer and highlight. There are also two liquid lipsticks as part of the collection, a mauvey nude and a classic bright Bunny red shade. You can check out her Youtube for more info and swatches of everything, and the collection will be available at Sephora on 06/06/16.

jeffree-star-skin-frosts-broken

Jeffree Star has also recently launched his first ever eyeshadow palette, called Beauty Killer, as well as four Skin Frost highlighters. There’s been quite a bit of drama on social media surrounding the Skin Frosts as many of them have been arriving smashed – especially shade King Tut shown above. This has also affected the UK availability of the range as UK distributor Cocktail Cosmetics posted on their Facebook page that around a third of their delivery arrived smashed. This post has since been removed but they have added an update on their site here. Jeffree has said he will be offering refunds or replacements to any affected customers that have purchased from his site.

On a more positive note, Jeffree Star has also announced he will be launching five new shades of Velour Liquid Lipstick around mid July, including the above shade, Virginity. I can’t wait to see what the others are like!

jaclyn-hill-champagne-glow-collection

You must have heard by now about the beautiful Becca X Jaclyn Hill collection? I snapped up the palette when it was released at Sephora, and it really is beautiful! There’s also an eyeshadow palette with five neutral shadows, and Champagne Pop is now available in liquid form as a Shimmering Skin Perfector, and a cream to powder in the Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured Creme too.

loreal-infallible-pro-glow-foundation

L’oreal have also just launched their latest foundation – The Infallible Pro Glow Foundation. Firstly, this is serious hot property at the moment, everyone’s gone crazy for it and it’s literally selling out everywhere it’s stocked. I tried to get my hands on some but wasn’t quick enough. Secondly, the arm swatches above show the full shade range, which is prefect for pale skinned ladies – but what about darker skin tones? This shade selection is severely lacking darker colours – and people have been making it clear that they’re not impressed. It seems that L’Oreal have taken note of what the public have been saying though, and have promised to bring out more darker shades 🙂

cover-fx-new-liquid-highlighters

Next, one of the latest brands to jump on the highlighter craze is Cover Fx. Their new Custom Enhancer Drops contain four liquid highlighters and two bronzers – and they look amazing! They will be available online at Sephora on 16/06/16.

Here are the swatches – I can’t wait to get my hands on these!

nikkie-tutorials-too-faced-collection

My last post mentioned Nikkie Tutorials’ collaboration with Too Faced, but at that the time there was very little information available. Since then more images have been popping up online, and the Power of Makeup palette looks just fabulous! It contains nine eyeshadow shades, two cute heart shaped blushers and a bronzer and highlight. There’s also a purple mascara, a primer, eyeliner and a little pot of something else, possibly a pigment. The collection will be available at Sephora in August.

too-faced-totally-cute-palette

I also love the look of Too Faced’s Totally Cute palette which you can customise with Too Faced stickers. I love this idea! This will be available on the Too Faced site on 15/06/16.

too-faced-sketch-marker-liquid-art-eyeliners

And lastly from Too Faced, their Sketch Marker Liquid Art Eyeliners look amazing! They look just like colouring pens and the shade selection is fun and summery. I can’t wait to see what these are like in the flesh – these will be available in the Autumn.

mac-new-lipstick-shades

MAC will also shortly be releasing a massive collection of new lipstick shades. We all know MAC are renowned for thinking outside the box and offering a wide selection of shades, but there really are some weird and whacky ones here! I’m not sure when they will be available here in the UK as yet but I’ll try my best to find out.

amrezy-lipland-cosmetics-collection

And the flawless Insta celeb, Amrezy has recently launched a collection of three liquid lipsticks with Lipland Cosmetics. I love the look of these shades – please do let me know you have them, I’d love to hear what they’re like!

christian-louboutin-lip-lacquers-july-2016

I HAD to include this stunning picture too – in case you hadn’t guessed, these are the latest offerings from Christian Louboutin beauty. These stunning products are his brand new Lip Lacquers, coming out in July. You know they’re going to be crazy expensive, but just look how gorgeous they are!!

anastasia-beverly-hills-sun-dipped-glow-kit

Next, Anastasia Beverly Hills have recently added to their Glow Kits, with the Sun Dipped palette. This highlighter palette contains four beautiful sun kissed highlighter shades.

anastasia-beverly-hills-modern-renaissance-palette

And lastly, I couldn’t include Anastasia Beverly Hills without mentioning their other latest launch – the modern Renaissance eyeshadow palette. This looks so beautiful – red, pink and orange eyeshadow shades are really having a moment right now. This is available now along with he Sun Dipped palette on the ABH site. If I hadn’t already picked up the Manny MUA Makeup Geek palette and the Violet Voss Holy Grail, I’d definitely be snapping this up!

So there we have it – please do let me know if you enjoyed my Beauty News and Gossip post and I’ll try to make it a regular feature 🙂 xxx

5 Things You Could Buy For The Price of a Louboutin Lipstick

Posted on September 2, 2015

louboutin lipsticks

Hi Guys!

If you’re into fancy schmancy, ridiculously beautiful and ahem, expensive beauty products, you’ve probably heard about the much anticipated Christian Louboutin Lipsticks – which have just launched yesterday at Selfridges.

Following on from Christian Louboutin’s nail polish launch last year, his new lipstick collection includes 36 shades in three unique textures – opulent Silky Satin, luminous Sheer Voile and rich Velvet Matte – all wrapped up in a stunning jewel-like case.

At an eye-watering and purse-clenching price of £60 each, they aren’t cheap by anyone standards… but I still really want one! That said, if you can think of any higher priced lipsticks that aren’t a limited edition, (for research purposes of course) please do let me know! louboutin lipstick packaging Just look at them though… (insert heart eyed emojis here) So, while I’ve been lusting away after these beauties telling myself I DO NOT NEED A £60 LIPSTICK, that I know I won’t actually use as I won’t want to ‘ruin’ it, I’ve been thinking of what other gorgeous goodies could I could pick up for the same price as a Loubie lippie…

ted baker Rhianna Technicolour Bloom Tshirt

This gorgeous Rhianna Technicolour Bloom Tshirt from Ted Baker has recently caught my eye. I love the look and style of Ted Baker clothing, but have never actually bought anything, mostly due to the price but also because they don’t cater for my size now. I love their digital prints, and this floral t-shirt is just so pretty. It’ll definitely be on my post weight-loss wish list!

Daisy Dixon Rose Gold Kate Watch

You know I have a thing about rose gold, well this Daisy Dixon Rose Gold Kate Watch from ASOS is also on my wish list. I don’t need another watch – and who actually uses watches these days as anything other than an accessory? Long gone are the days where we would check our wrists to find out the time, watches are more about fashion than function now. So this is definitely not a necessity, but it’s still on my want list none the less.

diptyque la redoute candle

And what about this stunning Diptyque La Redoute Candle from Liberty? If I had the money, I really could manage to spend silly money on candles, but as it stands I’ll stick with my affordable favourites from Yankee and Flamingo! This beauty from Diptyque is just so pretty though, with a striking black and white marbled effect, it would be perfect to accessory for any home. The scent of the candle is spicy and floral, but I must admit, I haven’t actually tried it myself, if you’ve tried this candle and you’d recommend it please do let me know!

marc jacobs daisy dream

I couldn’t complete this list without a perfume, could I? I absolutely love Daisy Dream Forever by Marc Jacobs, and this is one of the few fragrances I really love that I don’t actually own.

kate spade cedar street slim bee bag

And lastly, what about this sweet, classic Cedar Street Slim Bee Purse from Kate Spade? I have my eye on most things on the Kate Spade site right now, but this super sweet wallet just ticks all the boxes for me. It’s simple and sophisticated whilst being affordable – what’s not to love?

So I guess the question is, would I rather fork out £60 for a Loubie lippie, or would I rather have one of these lovely things instead. I’m completely undecided! What would you do?

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

You Spent How Much On A Nail Polish!?

Posted on August 20, 2014

christian-louboutin-nail-polish

Hi Guys!

Ok so I would imagine this post doesn’t really need an introduction. You’re either going to think I’m mad, have more money than sense (not true, I think) or possibly think of this as an investment…

So, as soon as I saw the new Christian Louboutin Rouge Nail Colour started doing the rounds on some of the bigger blogs I have to say I was completely wowed. The bottle is so striking and architectural, and kind of intimidating, if a nail polish can be intimidating! Like a massive pair of skyscraper heels! I reeeeally wanted to buy it, but with the price being over £40 (including postage) this is A LOT for any piece of makeup, let alone a nail polish. I saw it was on sale on the Selfridges site and after a bit of umming and ahhhing I decided to buy it anyway as it’s such an iconic piece, and I’m always attracted to a company that can offer me the perfect red nail!

louboutin-polish

I don’t know if you know the story behind Christian Louboutin? Basically one day Mr L was making a prototype pair of shoes and wanted to them to really stand out, so he grabbed his assistants nail polish and painted the soles red, and this was the beginning of the instantly recognisable brand we know today. What I’d like to know though, is which brand and shade of polish that assistant was using!? Anyway, this polish is supposed to reflect the iconic red soles and be the perfect red, so in theory it should suit any skin tone.

So, my delivery arrived today, and on instant inspection I thought there might be something missing. I took the nail polish out of the packaging to find the bottle itself is housed in a small box, but the lid is not covered at all. I kind of expected a bit more packaging with it, something to protect the massive lid maybe? Anyway, the bottle is gorgeous, it’s large, heavy, and has an ombre finish fading into black that gives it a striking and luxurious feel.

louboutin-red-nail-polish

Also, the bottle and lid stand an amazing 8 inches tall, which is the height of Christian Louboutin’s highest pair of shoes, the Ballerina Ultima, blimey riley! Just like like Christian Louboutin’s shoes, this nail polish is a no doubt statement piece. The phrase ‘form over function’ definitely applies here and this polish would definitely look amazing on any dressing table… But what about the actual product?

christian-louboutin-2-coats

So onto the actual polish, ok it really is the perfect red! With one coat I got almost full opacity, and with two it’s just spot on. It dried really quickly and has the most amazing high shine finish. It does everything you’d expect for the price! I literally cannot fault the formula or brush. The crazy long brush lid though, this did worry me at first but it’s really not that bad to use, I don’t think I made too much a mess of my nails!? The only thing I can’t tall you at the moment is the staying power / amount of chipping, as I’ve just applied the polish today. I’ll update this post shortly with the results!

christian-louboutin-nail-polish-review

So there we have it. This nail polish is officially amazing, it’s by far the best I’ve ever tried, hands down. I know Christian Louboutin will be releasing more colours shortly, I have to say as much as I’d love to own more, I just can’t justify spending that amount of money on a nail polish again!

I’d love to hear what you think! Am I crazy or is this an amazing purchase? xxx
