Beauty: NEW Benefit Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer

Posted on July 19, 2017

Hi Guys!

The latest release from Benefit Cosmetics has recently landed at TSNC HQ, and I wanted to share it with you today…

Many (seriously many) years ago, when I was about 18, my first ever experience of higher end, non-drugstore makeup, was at a Benefit counter when I was on holiday in Colchester. After having a makeover and being completely wowed by the products, I made quite a large order. One of my long-time favourite purchases that day very, was the original Boi-ing Concealer.

Benefit have since added a few more products to the Boi-ing range of concealers, including the Boi-ing Hydrating Concealer, and the Boi-ing Brightening Concealer. Today though, the new Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer is what I’m trying out.

Benefit promises their new Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer will cover imperfections with a flawless finish that’s ‘virtually undetectable’. The formula is designed to give a soft-focus, sheer-to-medium coverage finish, whilst feeling lightweight and staying waterproof for up to 10 hours. It all sounds pretty good right?

Ok so the new Boi-ing Airbrush concealer has an expected slightly lighter formula than the original, hence the airbrush name. It also promises to help conceal unevenness, fine lines and undereye circles – which is exactly what I need right now.

Well I’ve tried the Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer a few times now, and I think it’s perfect for those that enjoy the original Boi-ing concealer, but find it a bit too heavy or full coverage for them. As a fan of the original Boi-ing Concealer which I’ve used for many years, I know that what works well for you when you’re 18, isn’t necessarily going to work the same when you’re in your 30’s. Now I’m starting to get fine lines under and around my eyes, I have to be that much more careful when it comes to concealer, as creasing is a REAL problem. The Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer does a great job of covering my dark circles and fine lines, without looking cakey and mask-like.

I thought I’d also just line up and swatch the whole Boi-ing range of concealers so you can see what they look like together for comparison. All four above are in the lightest shades available:

  • Original Boi-ing Industrial Strength Concealer 3.0g (£17.50) – shade 01
  • Boi-ing Hydrating Concealer 3.5g (£17.50) – shade 01
  • Boi-ing Brightening Concealer 4.4g (£17.50) – shade 01
  • Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer 5.0g (£17.50) – shade 01

You can see all the concealers are priced the same at £17.50 each, and even though they all have the same shade name ’01’ the shades definitely vary slightly. The weight of product is different too for each one, so it’s worth bearing this in mind when purchasing.

And in terms of swatches and formula, swatched top to bottom –

  • Original Boi-ing Industrial Strength Concealer – full coverage, heaviest texture.
  • Boi-ing Hydrating Concealer – sheer coverage, lightweight feel.
  • Boi-ing Brightening Concealer – full coverage plus colour correcting.
  • Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer – sheer to medium coverage.

Benefit Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer is available now at Benefit CosmeticsDebenhams and Look Fantastic.

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Beauty: An Introduction to IT Cosmetics at QVC

Posted on September 28, 2016

it-cosmetics-review

Hi Guys!

IT Cosmetics are one of those US brands that have been on my wish list for a while, so when the guys at QVC gave me the opportunity to try a few of their products, I jumped at the chance!

For those not familiar with IT Cosmetics, they’re a US based brand that has gained quite the cult following over over some of their base products – such as their famous CC Cream and Bye Bye Undereye Concealer. Luckily I’ve been able to try one of these out, as well as a couple of their other popular products…

it-cosmetics-bye-bye-undereye-concealer-review

it-cosmetics-concealer-brush-review

So one of IT Cosmetics most famous products is of course the Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer, which is available as a bundle including a Dual-Ended Concealer Brush (for £23.64) This is an award-winning full coverage concealer that offers highly pigmented, natural-looking coverage, while the formula treats the appearance of lines, wrinkles and discolouration.

Well this all sounded pretty fantastic to me. For as long as I can remember I’ve always had dark circles under my eyes, so I had very high expectations for this product to work – as that’s exactly what it’s aimed at. I tried out two shades, Light and Medium, and found that I preferred light for my pale skin tone. The formula is very creamy with intense pigmentation, and it gives high coverage that most definitely erased my dark circles. I found the finish to be a bit on the shiny side though on its own, so setting it with a powder really worked for me. I was so impressed with how it literally made my dark circles vanish! I should point out it can also be used for general blemish concealing but it’s particularly aimed at the under eye area as it doesn’t settle into fine lines, and also helps to diffuse the appearance of wrinkles.

it-cosmetics-face-brush

it-cosmetics-sunshine-in-a-compace-review

Next we have the Sunshine in a Compact Vitality Anti-Aging Matte Bronzer & Mega Fat Fan Brush (£34.50) – This Sunshine in a Compact Anti-Aging Matte Bronzer is a nice warm matte bronzer in a large compact (there’s nothing worse than a tiny bronzer, don’t you think?) The formula is talc-free, and contains IT Cosmetics Drops of Light Technology to add instant radiance to your complexion without any glitter or shimmer.

The formula also includes anti-aging hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, silk and antioxidants to treat the skin whilst preventing the product from settling into any fine lines, and blurring the look of pores and imperfections. I actually initially thought the shade might be a tad too warm for me, but it applied with just the right amount of colour payoff and gave a lovely glow to my skin.

it-cosmetics-highlight-creme-illuminator-review

And lastly the Hello Light Creme Illuminator (£29.00 including a brush not shown) – Now I am all about the highlighters right now, and I couldn’t wait to try this one out. This product promises to give a lit from within glow to the complexion, offering a light, natural radiance and illumination. It’s also infused with skin-loving, anti-aging and hydrating ingredients; including Peptides, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Silk and Vitamins A, C, & E, which work together to hydrate, condition, and nourish the skin.

Now I’ve used a fair few highlighters in my time, and I know what I like and what I don’t like. From the description, this sounded like everything I look for in a highlighter – and oh my gosh it was literally highlighter perfection!

Firstly the shade is on the paler side, which is perfect for my fair complexion – and it’s not chunky, glittery or shimmery in any way – it’s just pure glow! The creme formula is a dream to apply, and really easy to build up if you want a more intense look. It glides on the skin with ease and also doesn’t emphasise the look of pores which some highlighters can tend to do.

I’ve included a bronzer and highlighter swatch below –

it-cosmetics-highlighter-and-bronzer-swatches

I’ve swatched the bronzer with quite a heavy hand here just so you can see the colour. It’s a really nice warm terracotta, again light enough to suit those with fairer skin tones. And you can see the highlighter is a really light colour, almost white – I love it!

it-cosmetics-qvc-review

I really am so impressed with these products – the quality across all of them is just fantastic, and though they seem on the expensive side, in my opinion they are well worth the money – especially the highlighter!

I’ve also had a quick look on the IT Cosmetics US site – and there are so many amazing looking products on there – I hope QVC UK can offer a bigger range soon!

Al the above products are available now at QVC.

I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx

My NYC Sephora Haul! Feat. Kat Von D, Milk Makeup, Tatcha, Becca & More!

Posted on September 19, 2016

sephora-haul-new-york

Hi Guys!

Any beauty lover will know that one of your priorities when visiting the US is of course, Sephora. Visiting New York was my first ever visit to the US, so I had my first ever Sephora store experience too!

For those yet to experience this pleasure, I have to tell you it’s actually quite overwhelming – especially for a small town gal like me who gets excited visiting Selfridges! Sephora is literally floor to ceiling beauty – so I decided to tackle it with a strategy – basically if the brand was available in the UK, I didn’t bother looking. So I headed for all the exciting US brands that I’ve been dying to get my hands on – Kat Von D, MILK Makeup, Anastasia and Sephora’s own brand to name but a few. Let’s take a look at what I picked up…

kat-von-d-products-sephora

So first of all I headed for Kat Von D (and yes I know we have it in the UK now, but it wasn’t available here when I was in NYC!) I really liked the look of the new Lock-it Concealer Creme – a super-versatile, rich and creamy concealer with 24-hour wear and instant full coverage. It promised to brighten the undereye area, cover blemishes and correct discolouration which was exactly what I was looking for. I got Hayley to help shade match me and ended up with shade Light 3 Warm. I started using this while in NYC and I have to say I was very impressed, it did a great job of covering my under eye circles as well as staying put throughout the day. I picked up the Lock-It Edge Concealer Brush too – described as ‘a high-performance concealer brush with an exclusive sculpted shape to seamlessly blend under eye concealer and instantly cover blemishes‘ I thought this would be the perfect match for the Lock-It Concealer. It’s just the right size and shape for concealer coverage on the under eye area, and applies product like a dream.

While I was at it I thought I’d also grab the Kat Von D Lockit Setting Powder too – you know, when in Rome! This is a weightless translucent loose powder, formulated with Micro-Blurring Technology to blur pores and set and perfect makeup for a flawless, locked-in finish. This is probably the most lightweight and silky finishing powder I’ve ever tried – it leaves your complexion velvety matte and smooth – and you can also use it for baking if that’s part of your routine too.

milk-makeup-holographic-highlighter

I’d also been dying to try some bits from MILK Makeup – they had quite a big range on offer, and I decided to pick up a couple of quirky sounding products…

Firstly I grabbed the Milk Makeup Cooling Water – this is basically a twist up stick that you apply to the face to cool, soothe and hydrate the skin. I tried it on the back of my hand and the cooling effect really worked! The product contains rich marine minerals and caffeine to hydrate, whilst give skin an energized, glowing look.

And the Milk Makeup Holographic Stick – well, I’d heard of this and thought it sounded fantastic, so I popped it in my basket too. Technically this doesn’t give a holographic highlight, but it does give skin an iridescent lavender sheen, which is really fun and pretty. Also, you can use it wherever you like – lips, eyes, cheeks – I’m looking forward to creating some fun looks with this!

sephora-collection-hide-and-sleek-skinny-cheek-contour-brush

I then checked out Sephora’s massive own brand range, and they literally stock everything! I loved the look of their retractable Hide & Sleek brushes, which come in high shine metallic casings with lids so they don’t get ruined in your makeup bag. I grabbed the Skinny Cheek Contour Brush – a retractable cheek contour brush in a slim and elegant rose gold case, and the Skinny Foundation Retractable Brush – a chic retractable foundation brush this time in gold casing.

tatcha-polished-classic-rice-enzyme-powderr

I’m also really glad I came across the Tatcha Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder – I’d been wanting to snap this up for a while, but the full size tub is $60.00 – eek! I found this mini 10g tub which was only $15.00 and very much in my price range. If you haven’t heard of Tatcha, they offer luxury skincare inspired by Japanese Geishas – you should definitely check them out if skincare’s your thing. Their Classic Rice Enzyme Powder is a creamy, water-activated enzyme powder that effortlessly releases debris from skin, leaving it feeling polished and baby soft in an instant. It’s formulated with nourishing Japanese rice bran blended with papaya extracts, to help reduce the look of fine lines and addresses uneven skintone, hyperpigmentation, and breakouts. I’m looking forward to giving this a go!

becca-mini-products-set

And while I was checking out all the amazing mini products and sets that Sephora has to offer, I came across the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Opal Glow On The Go Set – this is a mini duo of BECCA’s Shimmering Skin Perfector luminizers. I love Becca’s highlighters and these mini pressed and liquid Shimmering Skin Perfectors in Opal just looked so cute – as well as being the perfect size to throw in my bag.

sephora-favourites-give-me-some-lip-set

And lastly, I couldn’t resist the Sephora Favourites Give Me Some Lip Set – this is a six-piece, multibranded lip sampler set, including two full size products, and it was only $28.00 with a  total product value of $97.00! –

  • Fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment (sheer rosy tint)
  • Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Lovecraft (mauve pink nude)
  • Lancôme Juicy Shaker in 313 Boom-Meringue (lemon meringue flavor – full size)
  • NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien (rose pink)
  • Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in Stepping Out (deep nude – full size)
  • Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Chihuahua (dusty mauve)

By this point I’d tried mentally adding up how much I was spending and decided I’d better calm down a bit. I quickly glanced at Anastasia, Surratt and in the general direction of skincare and fragrance and decided I’d better head to the checkout before I got too carried away.

sephora-haul

So yes I ended up spending quite a lot of money… but I don’t regret it. It’s not every day I get to pop into an actual Sephora store, so I’m glad I made the most of it while I had the chance!

Do let me know if you’d like to see any swatches, or full reviews of anything – this post ended up being quite long so I decided not to include swatches this time 🙂

Must Have Spring Beauty!

Posted on March 9, 2016

must-have-spring-beauty-products

Hi Guys!

I know it’s a bit late, but Happy International Women’s day for yesterday!.. 🙂

As you can probably guess, this post was supposed to go live yesterday, but if you follow me on Twitter you may have noticed I wasn’t having the best day – pretty much everything that could go wrong did go wrong! So between trying to get everything sorted out and work shifts and seeing to Fred, I didn’t get a chance to finish this post.

Anyway, onwards and upwards hey! I’ve been trying out some gorgeous new beauty products lately, and I’ve put together my recommendations for a few ‘must have’ products for Spring – enjoy!

L'Occitane-Ultra-Soft-Balm-review

So to start with, I had to include the L’Occitane Ultra Soft Balm (£4.00) – fans of the brand will know that every year, to mark International Women’s Day L’Occitane launches an exclusive product to support women in developing countries. They’ve actually been working with women of Burkina Faso for over 30 years now to produce the fantastic shea butter used in their products.

The Ultra Soft Balm is this year’s product. It’s a fab little multi-purpose moisturiser, containing 98.6% shea butter, it’s super nourishing and can be used pretty much anywhere on the body. It lt also has a lovely light rose scene and comes in a pretty tin which is the perfect size to keep in your bag for application on the go.

L’Occitane will be donating 100% of profits from this product to fund special local projects to support the women of Burkina Faso – so this is definitely a must have.

No.7-Skin-Illuminator-Nude-review

I don’t know about you, but now we’re moving into the spring, I’m all about glowing, healthy looking skin. And this No.7 Skin Illuminator in Nude (£12.50) is perfect for giving your complexion a lovely light sheen. If you’re not a fan of foundations or coloured bases, you can wear this on it’s own to give skin a healthy glow, or if you wear foundation, its also great as a primer. Personally I’ve been mixing it with my current base to give my skin a touch more luminosity.

Urban-Decay-NAKED-SKIN-concealer-review

Urban-Decay-NAKED-SKIN-concraler-swatch

Though I love the idea of natural, glowing skin, unfortunately my complexion is less than perfect right now, so I still like to conceal blemishes and my under eye dark circles. Lately I’ve been loving the Urban Decay NAKED SKIN Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer (£17.50) – this concealer gives fantastic buildable coverage that doesn’t settle into fine lines. The formula is super lightweight and demi-matte to give a ‘second skin’ feel too, which I love. There’s nothing worse than cakey looking and feeling concealer!

too-faced-candlelight-glow-review

too-faced-candlelight-glow-swatch

Highlighters are also really popular right now – and I’ve literally just fallen in love with the Too Faced Candlelight Glow (£25.00) – it’s a gorgeous duo powder created specifically to warm and brighten the complexion. The formula is not glittery or sparkly in any way, this is pure ethereal glow in a compact and I can’t get enough of it! Both powders actually look pretty similar on my swatch above, but one is more of a pale gold, which is fantastic for adding warmth to the complexion, and the other is a light rose pink which is great for adding brightness and luminosity.

No.7-Glistening-Coral-Blush-Palette-review

No.7-Glistening-Coral-Blush-Palette-swatch

On to blusher now, and this No.7 Glistening Coral Blush Palette (£12.50) is just perfect to add a touch of sun kissed glow to paler complexions. The swatch above is a swirl around the pan mixing the gold and coral shades together – you can see the colour is very subtle, and has a touch of shimmer. This works really well applied a bit heavier on the apples of the cheeks, or lightly applied over the face almost like a bronzer to give skin a radiant glow.

fresh-sugat-lip-treatment-lancome-juicy-shaker

fresh-lip-treatment-lancome-juicy-shaker-swatches

On to lips now, and I’m very pleased to say I’ve been trying out one of the rather fabulous and highly anticipated Lancome Juicy Shakers (£18.00) – I mean, it’s a lip product that looks like a cocktail shaker, need I say any more?

Ok I will, so as a teen of the 90’s and coming of age around the 2000’s, Lancome’s Juicy Tubes were a must have for makeup enthusiasts – my friend actually bought me one for my 17th or 18th birthday and I was absolutely made up! Lancome have now launched their latest product in the Juicy range – the Juicy Shaker! This combines the juicy lip look from their original Juicy Tubes but in the style of the Shaker, one of Lancome’s early products from 1946 based on a cocktail shaker.

So basically this product has a biphasic formula, meaning it has two phases, which need to be shaken up and mixed before application. Juicy Shakers combine a special blend of oils with an infusion of pigments, that when shaken, gives a sheer vibrant lip colour that feels silky, smooth and comfortable on the lips with no stickiness. It’s also worth mentioning the interesting looking cushion applicator – it’s short and stubby, and velvety soft to touch. Kind of like a pointed velvet sponge which absorbs the product ready for application.

I love how this feels on my lips, it’s basically like a coloured lip oil – and there are also 14 shades available which each have different fragrances too. This is definitely a spring beauty must have!

Whilst on the subject of fresh and rosy lips, I also have the rather aptly named FRESH Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment (£18.00) – this fantastic balm moisturises, protects and soothes lips, with added SPF 15 and an exclusive blend of moisture-preserving sugar, nourishing precious oils and antioxidant-rich polyphenols to leave lips feeling wonderfully soft and supple with a pretty rosy tint.

liquid-lipsticks-review

liquid-lipsticks-swatches

And lastly, at the other end of the spectrum to glossy, shiny and silky lips, we have matte liquid lipsticks – another trend which has shown no signs of slowing down. Everyone wants gorgeous pigmented matte lips that won’t budge – including me, so I’ve included two of my favourite brands here – LA Splash and Coloured Raine. Both brands are US based (sorry) but they do both offer fantastic liquid lipsticks in a massive range of colours, that are really quite reasonably priced. I definitely recommend checking both sites out if you’re looking for a liquid lipstick.

I hope you enjoyed my post! I’d love to hear which products you’d recommend for spring? xxx

My Makeup Atelier Paris Top Picks!

Posted on July 28, 2015

makeup-atelier-paris

Hi Guys!

I’ve got an exciting new makeup brand on the blog today – well new to me anyway! In fact, it turns out that Makeup Atelier Paris isn’t actually new at all, I was quite surprised to hear that they’ve been around since the early 90’s! They kindly sent me an amazing bundle of products to try out, and rather than write about everything individually, I thought it’d be a good idea to put this post together focussing solely on my favourite products. I’m aware that Makeup Atelier Paris isn’t the best known brand on the market, so I thought this could be handy starting point for those looking to try some lesser known beauty brands…

makeup-atelier-paris-review

So firstly, a bit of background… Makeup Atelier Paris provide a massive range of cruelty free cosmetics, with an even larger range of shades. They actually offer over 50 shades of foundation and 20 shades of concealer and loose powders, which really is amazing!

Unlike many beauty brands, Makeup Atelier Paris also have their very own laboratory and manufacturing facility, which gives them a great advantage when it comes to innovation and responding to the latest trends. Makeup Atelier Paris’ laboratory is constantly working to increase the variety, quality and performance of their products.

Ok so here’s a little overview of some of my favourite products –

makeup-atelier-paris-base-products-review

makeup-atelier-paris-base-reviews

Starting with the bases (swatched from top to bottom above)

Waterproof Liquid Corrector and Concealer in FLWA1 IvoryThis is a great little concealer for medium coverage of blemishes. The tube is actually pretty substantial holding 8g of product, so you’l get a lot of use out of it. And the formula is also waterproof and contains light reflecting pigments. I found this didn’t give me quite the coverage I needed for my major under-eye bags, but it was great for general touch ups over the rest of my face.

Waterproof Liquid Foundation in FLW2BOk so I’m officially in love with this foundation. It’s long wearing, water resistant and gives fantastic medium to full coverage. It suits my normal to dry skin really well, and gives my complexion a beautifully flawless yet luminous finish when used over the primer. The shade FLW2B is also perfect for me, it’s just makes me look alive and healthy!

Eclat Makeup Base Primer – I do like a primer, but I must admit I’m a bit lazy and don’t use them on a day to day basis –  I just don’t have the time! This primer though, is perfect for dull and lifeless complexions (which unfortunately describes my face pretty well) it contains light enhancing and reflecting pigments to brighten and illuminate, and just gives skin a gorgeous glow without any sparkle or shine. This teams up perfectly for me with the Waterproof Liquid Foundation.

Iridescent Highlighter in Naked This is a gorgeous silvery pink high shimmer highlighter, very much like Benefit’s Moon Beam, this product is perfect for highlighting the cheekbones and brow bones, and it’s also easy to build up the intensity if you fancy practicing a bit of strobing!

makeup-atelier-paris-eyeshadow-palette-review

makeup-atelier-paris-eyesahdow-swatches

Eyeshadow Palette in T22Makeup Atelier Paris also have a massive selection of eyeshadow palettes on offer – 23 of them in fact! So there should really be something to suit everyone, whether you prefer neons or neutrals! The T22 palette contains five neutral shades, ranging from white to nearly black – unfortunately you can’t see the lighter shades too well on my super pale arms! All the shades in this palette have a matte finish, though other palettes also include glitter and pearl finishes too. The eyeshadow formula includes silicone and fatty acids to allow for smooth application, and Mica powder to create a soft focus, light reflecting appearance.

makeup-atelier-paris-longwear-lipcolour-review

makeup-atelier-paris-longwear-lipcolour-swatches

And lastly the Longwear Lip Colours in Beige Rose and Rouge Franc As you may have noticed, liquid lipsticks are everywhere at the moment, and Makeup Atelier Paris have their own range of 12 rich and intense shades. These Longwear Lip Colours have amazing pigmentation and give a velvet matte finish once dry. Beige Rose is a beautiful nude beige shade that’s slightly on the pink side so it’s easy to wear, and Rouge Franc is the most intense red, perfect for a statement lip. Both shades have fantastic pigmentation and are super long lasting.

Well, you won’t be surprised to hear that I’m SO happy to have discovered this brand! Apart from the fact that I’ve found the most amazing foundation and primer combo for my skin, the other products are all fantastic too, and I know I’m going to get a lot of use out of them. If you’re looking to try out some new beauty products – especially bases – I’d highly recommend you check out Makeup Atelier Paris.

I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx

Kiko Cosmetics Haul!

Posted on July 3, 2015

kiko-cosmetics-haul

Hi Guys!

If you saw my post about Cambridge the other day, you many have picked up on my excitement about all the fantastic shops I discovered there! When we walked into The Grand Aracde shopping centre, the first shop I noticed was Kiko – and there was a massive sign out the front advertising 30% off certain ranges too – I was like a kid in a candy shop! I sent my other half off with my little boy to ‘go and do something for a while’ while I ventured in…

kiko-cosmetics-beauty-haul

Funnily enough, I was only in the store about 10 minutes (I realised this after noticing my ‘Hey look I’m at Kiko’ and ‘Ooh Kiko purchases’ instagram posts were only 10 mins or so apart) In this short time I managed to pick up a whole bunch of amazing looking products. I knew if I stayed in there any longer I’d have bought the whole shop!

I’ve only fairly recently actually started using Kiko products, if you get a moment please do check out my posts – Miami Beach Babe Collection and Modern Tribes Collection. In both posts you’ll see I was so impressed with the quality of Kiko’s products, I haven’t had a bad word to say about anything I’ve tried so far.

kiko-essential-bronzer-warm-melange

kiko-essential-bronzer-warm-melange-swatch

As I completely fell in love with the blusher from the Modern Tribes collection, and said in the post that I wanted to grab the bronzer too, I purchased The Essential Bronzer in the lighter shade of the two, 200 Warm Melange. It was in the sale at £12.50 down from £17.90, so a complete bargain in my eyes! I love that this bronzer is massive, so you get really get stuck in with a large brush – this is perfect to use all over your body for a summer bronzed look. (On a side note I was a bit disappointed to find somebody had already swatched my bronzer when I got it home, hence the smudged section on the top)

kiko-eyeshadow-quad-color-fever-review

kiko-eyeshadow-quad-color-fever-swatches

I also spotted a beautiful looking eyeshadow quad in 100 Color Fever, this was £9.70 down from£13.90, so again another great bargain. I’ve only just realised that I always go for the same sort of shades when I choose small palettes like this, I always seem to be attracted to brown and mauve toned neutral shades, so I actually have a few other palettes that are similar to this. This palette includes four beautiful shades – a light warm shimmery beige, an iridescent light pink / grey shade which I’m having trouble describing! A warm golden brown shimmer and a deep aubergine purple shimmer with tiny blue and purple sparkles. I love that these eyeshadow quads have large squaure pans, so you get quite a lot of product, and the formula is a dream to work with, I’m definitely in love with this palette!

kiko-full-coverage-cream-concelaer

kiko-full-coverage-cream-concelaer-swatch

I also had a little go with their Full Coverage Cream Concealer in the store on the back of my hand, I thought I’d pick this up too and see how it compares to my current under-eye-bag-cover-up favourite Seventeen Phroarr Paint. I chose number 02 to suit my fair skin, and this gives a really nice full coverage matte finish. I’ve started using it under my eyes and it’s doing a great job. I’ll be writing up a concealer comparison post shortly!

kiko-nude-lipsticks

kiko-nude-lipstick-swatches

And now on to the lip products! You know I’m a big nude lip fan, so I picked up the Luscious Cream Lipstick in 510, which is a light nude beige and the Crystal Sheer Lipstick in 403, which is a mid-toned muted mauve. These lipsticks were a very reasonable £6.90 each without any discount, which is amazingly cheap really considering the quality of the packaging and the formula of the products. Both finishes were creamy and comfortable on the lips, the Luscious Cream lipstick had longer staying power which was to be expected, but I really love both of them, and the shades are just beautiful if you’re a fan of a natural, nude lip look.

kiko-lip-gloss-review

kiko-lip-gloss-swatch

And lastly, I also grabbed a Super Gloss in 112, which is a high-shine light pinky beige with gold and silver micro glitter particles. This was a complete bargain at only £4.90 without any discount. Again this is another fab product, it’s not sticky on the lips and looks great on it’s own or worn on top of a lipstick. I think I’ll be wearing this out for my friends’ hen party this weekend!

If any of these gorgeous products have tempted you, Kiko’s 30% off sale is still on instore and online, so if you’re thinking of trying out some Kiko products, now’s the time to grab a bargain!

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

My Top Picks From Neve Cosmetics

Posted on March 26, 2015

neve-cosmetics-picks

Hi Guys!

You know I love bright colours, and Neve Cosmetics really have hit the nail on the head here! I’ve got some fab products to show you today, including this amazing palette of rainbow eyeshadow shades, a brightening primer, coloured eyeliner pencil, concealer and illuminating powder.

neve-cosmetics-Intensissimi-eyeshadow-palette

The Intensissimi Eye Palette (£21.95) contains ten bright and bold eyeshadow shades, in a fantastic array of rainbow colours. I know this isn’t going to be everyone’s’ cup of tea, so it’s also worth noting they have other palettes available with darker colours, pastel shades and neutrals too. I love that the palette is a really good size, and the pans are massive so you definitely get your money’s worth when it comes to the amount of product included. The only improvement I’d add is a mirror in the lid!

And just look at the pigmentation! These colours rally are superb. They’re super soft, full of pigment and are easy to apply and blend too. The only palette I have that I can compare this too is the Makeup Revolution Colour Chaos Palette, which is smaller in size but full of bright shades. I think the Neve palette comes out on top just because the pigmentation is that much better, though I’d still recommend the MUR palette if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative.

I also have the Hide and Seek Concealer (£6.95) – this is a handy little pot of cream concealer that really does the job. It dries to a matte powder finish, and it’s also vegan, silicone and paraben free. I have the second lightest shade which is Light and it’s definitely fair enough for my neon white skin tone. I love the super matte finish it gives – there’s nothing creamy or shiny about this product at all. I’m currently using it to help disguise my under eye dark circles and it’s doing a great job!

The Illuminismo Face Powder (£9.95) is a gorgeous soft and silky weightless powder that highlights the complexion – it’s basically a loose powder version of MAC’s MSF’s. It’s perfect for creating highlights under the brows, on the cheekbones, or wherever you want your skin to catch the light. Again it contains no parabens and no silicones and it’s vegan and cruelty free. I have to say I really love the finish of this powder, it really is just like a MSF, but I think I’d prefer it in a pressed powder just for ease of use.

And the BioPrimer Brightening Primer for dull skin (£9.50) – this is another vegan, cruelty and silicone free product, promising a smooth finish to the skin with brightening properties to enhance a dull or dry complexion. This sounds just what I need right now! It’s formulated with nourishing argan oil, protective shea butter and moisturising aloe extract, so this primer aims to give skin a healthy and radiant finish. I love that it gives the slightest hint of illumination to the skin, I couldn’t capture it on camera unfortunately. It’s not sparkly or shimmery, but definitely illuminating and just makes your complexion look a bit brighter.

I’m really impressed with all of the products I’ve been using today, and I can’t get enough of the amazing eyeshadow palette. I’ve used some of the eyeshadow shades, and the Pastello Eyeliner Pencil in Turquoise (£3.95) in the waterline to creat a quick, fun and colourful eye look – what do you think?

Neve Cosmetics are available in the UK from Cute Cosmetics – do check them out, as I brand I think they’re definitely underrated! And I also have a previous post on their lip products here.

I hope you enjoyed my review! xxx
