Interiors: Gucci Launches New Homeware Line – Gucci Décor

Posted on August 29, 2017

Hi Guys!

Though my wallet doesn’t allow it, I’m still a massive fan of high end fashion, especially accessories such as shoes and bags which I can’t get enough of when window shopping – if only I had the money my wardrobe would be full of so many wonderful brands! One of the designers that has caught my eye recently is Gucci, their latest collections are just so amazingly colourful, fun and eclectic, with endless amounts of contrasting prints and colours. The phrase ‘more is more’ definitely applies here.

So when I heard Gucci were unveiling their debut homeware line, Gucci Decor, I couldn’t wait to see what they’d come up with. Described as “an eclectic collection of items with which customers can dress their own spaces.” this collection is everything I’d imagined and more!

I was excited to find out that the designs are inspired by Gucci’s current fashion collections – there’s clashing colours, bold prints, and animal head motifs a-plenty. Gucci Decor’s initial launch includes a wide range of home accessories – there are practical and functional items such as chairs, tables and screens, as well as smaller home accessories including candles, cushions and trays.

As I’m sure you can imagine, these products won’t come cheap – starting from the bottom end of the scale, a candle will cost £150, up to an eye-watering £23,000 for a printed silk screen, gulp! In all seriousness though, I think these prices are pretty much to be expected, as with any high fashion house that offers home decor, you’re paying for the design, quality of materials and of course the name.

Gucci have also created four new scents for their candles and incense products –

  • Inventum – a delicate note of ancient damask rose, blended with voluptuous and distinctive Taif rose.
  • Fumus – the dark and intense scent of birch, mingled with orange leaves and beeswax.
  • Herbosum – the fresh, intense scents of tomato leaves and aromatic plants, mixed with the fragrance of long grass peppered with basil and lemongrass.
  • Esotericum – the bitter aroma of Seville oranges, intricately intertwined with notes of jasmine, leather and salt.

I’m really into scents with orange notes at the moment, so I’m loving the sound of Fumus and Esotericum especially. Hopefully I’ll get to give these a sniff when the range has launched in store.

So what do you think? Will you be treating yourself to anything from the Gucci Decor collection? At the moment I’ll just be lusting after the candles and cushions 🙂

The Gucci Decor collection will be available from September online and in selected stores.

Home & Interiors: Sara Miller London Candles

Posted on May 24, 2017

Hi Guys!

It’s been quite a while since I’ve had any new candles on the blog – I think this is actually the second time this year which is pretty slow going for me! This is also my first introduction to Sara Miller London, a luxury home accessory and gift brand offering sophisticated and elegant designs across a range of products. There’s quite a nice selection available on the site, including greeting cards, gift packaging, home fragrance, tableware, stationery and kitchen textiles.

Enter the enchanting world of Sara Miller London. A luxury brand with a stunning collection of designs which celebrate a love of print, pattern and colour. Sara’s design work has always been influenced by her passion for travel and a love for experiencing different cultures. From the intricate decorative henna work in Jaipur to the sensational Sakura cherry blossom in Japan, Sara loves exploring it all and bringing a piece of this inspiration back to her London studio, where she uses her unique creativity to produce truly beautiful, sophisticated and elegant designs.

I have two candles from the range of eight that are available – the Fig, Vanilla & Cacao Candle has an elegant deep blue frosted glass container with a gold lining specifically added to reflect the light and give a lovely, relaxing glow. It also has the Sara Miller London logo and dainty flower details printed around the container in gold. The fragrance is quite green and fresh, opening with a distinctive note of crisp Fig, leading to a hint of bitter Cacao, which is rounded off nicely with a warm base of Vanilla.

The other candle I have is the Sandalwood, Oud & Cardamom Candle. This has the same design as the above candle (all eight have the same printing) but this is on a light grey frosted glass container. Visually I prefer the Fig, Vanilla & Cacao Candle just because the gold on navy blue container stands out really nicely and looks more appealing to me, but in terms of scent, the Sandalwood, Oud & Cardamom Candle is definitely my favourite. This fragrance opens with fresh and bright notes of Cardamom and sparkling Lemon, leading to a heart of Orange Blossom and a base of deep and rich Sandalwood and Oud. This smells like a high end heady evening fragrance to me – I love it!

I should also mention that Sara Miller London Candles are all hand poured in the UK, and made from only the finest ingredients and purest fragrances, including 100% pure soy wax which gives approximately 60 hours burn time. The candles are packaged well and are presented in high quality boxes, and mine also came in a lovely decorative outer box, which you can see in the background of my photos. This is from the Sara Miller London gift packaging range, which includes lovely bright patterned gift boxes and bags, as well as tissues and tags. If you’re a fan of giving spectacularly high-end packaged gifts, I definitely recommend you check these out.

Sara Miller London Candles are £25.00 each and available now at SaraMiller.London

Oliver Bonas Home Accessories Haul!

Hi Guys!

I hope you’re having a great weekend?

I must admit I have gone a little bit crazy lately with buying home and photography accessories. I’ve been hitting my favourite online stores like a woman on a mission – and I haven’t left anywhere empty handed! I also still have most of my Christmas shopping to do too, oops!

I live not far from Norwich in a small town, and unfortunately we don’t have many decent shops at all, so I always do my shopping online. One of the first online stores I hit was the fantastic Oliver Bonas. I absolutely love this store, their aesthetic is just so me. They sell a massive range of products including home accessories, stationery, jewellery and even clothing.

So firstly, how could I resist these copper wire 3D letters, to spell out TSNC!? I thought these would make fantastic background accessories for my photos, I’m over the moon with them! And I know copper is everywhere at the moment, but I love it!

I also picked up a gold framed hanging glass terrarium, just because it was so pretty. I’m not gonna lie, I had to google what a terrarium was… so for those not in the know, it’s basically a glass container, traditionally used for displaying minature plants inside. One side of the terrarium has a space left free of glass so you have easy access inside. I wasn’t really sure what I’d put in it until I saw some copper string lights on the site – yes I know more copper! I thought I might play around with these as a photography accessory, putting them in the terrarium and wrapping them round things. I’ll see how it goes.

And you know how I feel about stationery… well I bought two more notebooks that I don’t really need. They’re just so awesome and bright! I also grabbed a lovely set of three coloured washi tapes – I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it yet but at least I have some now for when I’m feeling creative!

And lastly, I also picked up a multi coloured paper chain, this is such a simple yet effective idea for adding a bit of colour to a wall, shelves or anywhere you like really.

I’m over the moon with all my goodies, and if you haven’t heard of Oliver Bonas before, I suggest you check their site out now as they have a sale on 🙂

So what do you think? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

A Little Home Wish List…

Posted on March 4, 2015

Hi Guys!

So now I’ve really nearly finished my new office – I’ve got the furniture, I’ve got everything pretty much organised, I just need to tidy up and add a few finishing touches to the decor. This has got me thinking about the rest of my house, and now I’ve got the decorating, re-vamping and updating bug! I keep looking online for inspiration, thinking about what I want to change, upgrade and improve, and as I’ve been making my mental notes I’ve noticed everything has fallen into two categories: practical – for those necessary items that you need but aren’t much to look at, and pretty – for the decorative, not actually necessary things.

So I’ve put together a little wish list, a kind of if I won the lottery type thing, of practical and pretty things I’d really love to have in my home…

home wish list_edited-1

Ok so let’s start with the kitchen, there are SO many problems with the kitchen! The dishwasher has broken, so we’re now using it for storage, yes our house is so small we’re actually using the dishwasher to keep things in. Storage is a very real issue. So a new dishwasher would be nice, and the washing machine is also on it’s last legs, so a shiny new Panasonic washing machine would be lovely – preferably one that’s a dryer too? Because of course, we have no space or a dryer, gah.

I’d like a nice storage cabinet to go in the corner of the room – maybe the Hemnes Cabinet from Ikea, to stop the kitchen table being a dumping ground for junk. The kitchen really stresses me out so I’ll move on to the living room now… My fancy Habitat sofa cushions are knackered from people sleeping on the sofa, so I’d really like some nice new ones, I’m in love with this Cat Face Cushion and Yeah Yeah Yeah Cushion from Urban Outfitters, and while I was checking out their site I also noticed this awesome Zig Zag Rug which would be perfect in the living room, as my current rug is covered in marks. Oh and our lovely white Coffee Table has chip marks all around the edges from Fred pulling himself up and chewing it as a baby, so I’d quite like a new one of them too!

Going upstairs I’d really love some pictures on the walls, my problem is I can’t commit to where to put things, because once something is up, you then have to plan everything else around it, so basically that’s why I haven’t got any pictures up. Which reminds me, I still haven’t had our wedding photos printed – oops! If you know me you’ll know that Rockett St George is one of my favourite homewares stores, and I can’t get over these Horizon and Palm Trees art prints – one day they will be mine! I’m also kind of lacking in ceiling lampshades… there’s only two of them in the whole house because I just didn’t get round to finding any more I liked. I’m rather partial to IKEA Lampshade though and this Fillsta one has caught my eye recently. For our bedroom, I can’t get enough of bright and loud prints, and this Vance Duvet set jumped out at me, it’s really expensive but I think I NEED it! And lastly I’d really like a book case for Fred’s room, as his books are just in a massive pile in the living room at the moment, this Kidikraft Bookshelf would be perfect for him.

Do you create lust lists like I do? And spend your time window shopping and fantasising about your dream home!? I hope you enjoyed my post 🙂 xxx
