Christmas: The Luxury Beauty Christmas Gift Guide

Posted on December 17, 2017

Hi Guys!

Christmas is slowly creeping closer, and today I have my latest gift guide to share with you, featuring lots of gorgeous, luxury beauty goodies. You can probably guess that most products today are going to be on the pricier side – but they’re definitely worth it in my opinion – enjoy!

Starting with the stunning Chantecaille L’Arbre Illuminé Palette – this beautiful palette contains a luxurious selection of flattering, illuminating highlighter and cheek shades that can be mix and matched to create radiant, glowing looks. The palette contains eight coordinating blush and highlighters, packaged in a luxurious box that opens to reveal a colourful 3D tree in bloom.

The beautiful Diptyque Feu d’agrumes Scented Candle would also make fantastic Christmas treat – Diptyque always bring out the most gorgeous candle collections at Christmas time, and for 2017 they have been inspired by the universe, constellations and stars, to bring us a trio of candles with the theme of mythological cosmic animals. I have the Fiery Orange candle, with a silver dragon motif.  It features notes of Blood Orange, Smokey Wood and Cloves, evoking feelings of a hot, crackling fire.

I also have this beautiful MAC Snowball Mini Lipstick Set – containing 12 mini lipsticks, each housed in a special colour-matched metallic casing, presented in a champagne presentation case – this set would make the perfect luxury gift for fans of MAC. The shades included are as follows –

  • Party Commencing – Clean matte Light neutral pink (Matte)
  • Little Darling – Clean light nude matte (Matte)
  • Please Me – Muted-rosy-tinted pink (Matte)
  • Mangrove – Hot, bright red (Matte)
  • Ruby Woo – Very matte vivid blue-red (Matte)
  • Rebel – Midtonal cream plum (Satin)
  • Flat Out Fab – Bright plum matte (Matte)
  • Good Kisser – Midtone fuchsia (Matte)
  • Diva – Intense reddish-burgundy (Matte)
  • Velvet Teddy – Deep-tone beige (Matte)
  • Whirl – Dirty Rose (Matte)
  • Stone – Muted greyish taupe brown (Matte)

On to skincare now, the By Terry Baume De Rose Preciosity Gift Set is a beautifully presented set contains a trio of products featuring the brand’s legendary rose-infused formula, in both balm and cream formulations. The Baume De Rose lip balm is perfect for leaving lips kissably soft, the Baume De Rose Face Cream is packed with rose butter, rose flower essential wax and rosehip oil to hydrate and cocoon the skin to prevent any dryness, and the non-greasy Hand Cream nourishes with a delectable combination of butters and waxes, and a rich rose fragrance.

I also have this lovely little Perricone MD Pre:Empt Series Travel Set – perfect for someone interested in trying the brand, the Pre:Empt Travel Set contains everything you need to hydrate, exfoliate and keep oily complexions in check. The Pore Refiner is a chemical exfoliator helps to clarify and refine the skin’s surface, while the Skin Perfecting Serum combats damage caused by environmental stress, plumping out fine lines. The Brightening Eye Cream goes to work tackling dark circles and firming up the delicate eye area, and the Oil-Free Hydrating Cream nourishes and plumps without leaving any greasy residue.

Back to makeup now, the gorgeous Charlotte Tilbury Stars of the Red Carpet Set is exclusive to feel Unique this Christmas, and would make any beauty lover’s day. The Feelunique x Charlotte Tilbury Stars of the Red Carpet set contains a Mini Legendary Lashes Black Vinyl Mascara, a Rock ‘N’ Kohl Eyeliner Pencil in Barbarella Brown, and a Luxury Eyeshadow Palette in The Vintage Vamp, all housed in an exclusive collectors box.

And how about the Clinique Aromatics Elixir Riches Set – this lovely gift set includes three fabulous Aromatics Elixir products, presented in a gold gift box. The box contains a Perfume Spray, Body Smoother and Body Wash, each with a rich, warm and sensual fragrance, featuring notes of Rose, Jasmine, Oakmoss, Ylang Ylang, Vetiver, Patchouli, Musk, Amber, and Sandalwood.

The Prada La Femme Eau De Parfum 50ml Gift Set is another fabulous fragrance set. Described as the most intimate of fragrances, La Femme is both instinctive and sophisticated, weaving a mesmerising trail around its wearer. The scent opens with notes of sultry Frangipani and Honey, leading to a heart of Ylang Ylang, Tuberose and, creamy Vanilla, with a seductive note of Vetiver in the base.

  • Top Notes: Frangipani and Honey
  • Heart notes: Tuberose and Ylang Ylang
  • Base notes: Vetiver and Vanilla

Continuing with fragrance, niche scents really have stolen my heart this year, and Olfactive Studio Close Up is definitely a fragrance that should be on your radar. Close Up is in fact a collaboration between Olfactive Studio and established photographer Suren Manvelyan. It’s an intense dark woody gourmand fragrance, with notes of boozy and bitter sweet Cherry Liqueur, cool Star Anise and Green Coffee, which then gradually descends into a dark heart of Rose, Atlas Cedar, Patchouli and Amber, with a base of Ambergris, Musk and Tonka Beans.

  • Top Notes: Cherry, Coffee and Star Anise
  • Heart Notes: Atlas Cedar, Centifolia Rose, Patchouli and Tobacco
  • Base Notes: Ambergris, Musk and Tonka Beans

And lastly for fragrance, Jovoy Rose Millésimée is another niche scent that is definitely worth trying. Rose Millésimée is an ode to Centifolia Rose, described as an olfactory metaphor for a moment frozen in time, the reflection of a story, a region and a tradition of craftsmanship. This is easily the most beautiful rose fragrance I’ve ever had the pleasure of smelling – it’s a must try for fans of rose scents.

  • Top Notes: Spices
  • Heart Notes: Rose
  • Base Notes: Musk

Back to makeup now, this Givenchy Icon Box Palette is just perfect for somebody that loves their makeup conveniently packaged. This super chic glossy black box contains a selection of Givenchy makeup essentials, including eyeshadows, blush and highlighters on one side, and lip gloss, eyeliner and mascara on the other, with a handy mirror in the centre.

And last but not least, the SUQQU Designing Colour Eyeshadow Palette is a fantastic alternative to more ‘mainstream’ branded palettes. It includes four shades that can be used induvidually or layered effortlessly with perfection, to give natural definition to the eyes. I have the palette in 113 Hikarisango, which features a shimmering champagne highlight and vibrant coral hue, contrasted with a deep burgundy and brick brown. This is definitely one for fans of luxury makeup.

I’d love to hear if you’re picking up and luxury or high end beauty treats this Christmas? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Christmas: Must Have Candles inc Diptyque, Jo Malone, Etta French & More

Posted on December 8, 2016

Hi Guys!

What is Christmas without a beautiful scented candle? I love nothing more than filling my home with festive scents to really get me into the Christmas spirit – and as there are so many wonderful wintry fragrances candles around right now, I’ve gathered together a selection of the best luxury scented candles to share with you today – enjoy!

Starting with the Diptyque Epice et Delices Candle (from £28.00) – Diptyque is the brand that really does tick all the boxes when it comes to candles. Their packaging is always striking and distinctive, and the scents are also to die for. This ‘Epice et Delices’ (Spices and Delights) candle is part of a trio of limited edition candles for winter 2016. Epice et Delices is a wonderfully warming spicy scent with notes of gingerbread, cinnamon, honey and star anise. It’s just perfect for a cost night in by the fire.

Next we have the Jo Malone Incense & Embers Candle (£42.00) – Another favourite brand of mine, Jo Malone’s Christmas products are always on my wish list, and this Incense & Embers scented candle is just as gorgeous as I expected. The scent is sophisticated, relaxing and calming with notes of smoky incense, silver fir and white pepper. An element of sensuality is added with notes napa leather layered on a base of elegant vetiver and golden amber. This really is a must have candle for winter.

I also have this absolutely stunning Voluspa Classic Maison Luxury Candle in Spruce Cuttings (£45.00) – now Voluspa is a brand I’ve never tried before, and I’m so glad I’ve discovered them! This candle is just so beautiful, with a striking festive green iridescent polished glass finish and matching lid – it really does feel luxurious and special. Their Spruce Cuttings scent is woody yet crisp and fresh, and instantly transports me to a winter wonderland. And though high in price, this candle will also last up to 100 hours, so it’s definitely worth the splurge.

The La Montana Three Kings Candle (£35.00) is another beautiful, warming winter fragrance. This scent includes notes of cedarwood mingled with trampled pine needles, while frankincense and myrrh, mix with traditional, homemade turrón (almond nougat) and a brightening tot of brandy. The scent is heavy and evocative, and slightly masculine with almost an element of cologne to it. I really love this scent and this would also make a wonderful Christmas gift.

Next we have the Etta French Nutmeg, Orange and Cinnamon Candle (£34.00) – if you haven’t heard of Etta French, they’re basically like a high end version of Jewel Candle – yes they have little packages of jewellery inside their candles! I really love this idea – I haven’t dug mine out yet so look out for another post in the coming weeks where I’ll show you what’s hidden inside this beautiful candle.

Onto the fragrance now though – Nutmeg, Orange & Cinnamon is a limited edition Christmas Fragrance; it’s described as the perfect seasonal soothing scent, evocative of cold winter days, fire lit nights and Christmas Cheer. I’m a big fan of cinnamon so this fragrance really appealed to me, it’s spicy, comforting and just smells exactly like Christmas!

Next The White Company Mistletoe Candle (£34.00 – behind reindeer) – This is a new limited edition scent, with notes of aromatic spruce, woody cedar, sweet muguet and rich amber. This scent encapsulates the essence of festive flirtation and kisses the air with its warming heart. This lovely candle is housed in a pretty ribbed glass vessel, with no visible logo, and its outer packaging is a beautiful white drum finished with a metallic ribbon. The whole look is elegant and understated – perfect for gifting a loved one this Christmas.

And lastly the Annick Goutal Noel Candle (£44.00) – this is a classic Christmas candle from Annick Goutal. The fragrance is instantly recognisable – fresh, fresh and full-bodied, spicy and fruity. The flavour of citrus fruits, orange and mandarin from Brazil, the slightly acid bark of the pine from Siberia, heavy with an unforgettable scent of resin. A scent with the clarity of snow and the warmth of a house filled with impatient, excited children on Christmas Eve. This candle would make a wonderful Christmas treat!

And lastly I also wanted to mention this guy I picked up from Paperchase – Minty, as I’ve called him, is an awesome mint green coloured decorative reindeer – I love him!

I’d love to hear which candles you’ve been enjoying this winter? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Six Must Have Fragrances for Spring

Posted on May 9, 2016

Hello again, and happy Monday!

I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend in the sun? We had some nice family time this weekend, with a lovely walk around Redgrave Fen, and I’ve also managed to catch a cold as well as hay fever… enough about me though! I have some wonderful and simply must-have scents to share with you today – let me talk you through my Six Spring Must Have Fragrances for 2016…

Let’s start with YSL black Opium Nuit Blanche – if you loved the original YSL Black Opium, Nuit Blanche is a definite must have for you. This is a gorgeously sensual, warm and intoxicating fragrance, and without a doubt this is an evening scent, it’s very similar to the original Black Opium though not quite as heavy, and definitely sweeter. It also has the familiar signature base of Black Opium – the White Coffee Accord which I absolutely love. Black Opium Nuit Blanche opens with notes of Rice Vapour and spicy Bourbon Pepper, it has a heart of exhilaratingly fresh and sharp Orange Blossom Absolute, and warming White Musk, Vanilla Absolute and sensual Sandalwood Essence at the base.

YSL Black Opium Nuit Blanche is priced from £45.OO for 30ML, and available at YSL Beauty now.

Next, in a complete contrast to the above YSL scent, we have CK2 EDT. Described as ‘gender-free fragrance for a man or a woman, without prejudices’, CK2 is fresh yet warm, clean and energetic. I feel Calvin Klein have described the scent very well with the term gender-free. It’s almost like wearing clean clothing – there’s nothing sweet and feminine, nor musky and masculine in this fragrance. CK2 is a celebration of diversity –

We come together void of stereotypes and free of conformity; a youthful connection between two people to celebrate the differences that make our connections richer and define what makes us,  us. Life is better when we are 2.

The fragrance opens with top notes of Mandarin, Violet Leaf Absolute, and surprisingly, Wasabi. The heart of Orris Concrete, Rose Absolute and Wet Cobblestones combines a rich sensuality, with a wet, mineral splash to give a warming freshness to the fragrance. The base of Vetiver and Incense blends with creamy Sandalwood and Musks to give a complexingly fresh, yet magnetic warmth to the scent.

CK2 is available now priced from £30.00 for 30ml at House of Fraser.

Next we have Annick Goutal Rose Pompon – I often think Annick Goutal fragrances can be overlooked, it’s not necessarily the brand that might jump out at you the most from the shelves, but if you haven’t experienced her fragrances before, I strongly recommend you do. Rose Pompon is the latest rose based scent from Annick Goutal, and it’s a current favourite of mine. It’s easily one of the best rose fragrances I’ve tried – and I’ve tried quite a few! Rose Pompon is a gorgeously easy to wear fruity rose scent. It’s surprisingly complex, modern and bold, with spicy notes of Pink Pepper and green sparkling Blackcurrant, opening with the velvety rich notes of Raspberry. The heart carries a duo of rose extracts – Bulgarian Rose and Taïf Rose which is a rare flower with a suave and sensual scent. The fragrance is sealed with a hint of Peony, woody Cedar and powdery Patchouli, followed by an exquisite note of White Musk.

Annick Goutal Rose Pompon EDT is priced from £59.00 for 50ml, and available now from John Lewis.

And I had to include Diptyque Eau Des Sens – you may have noticed my Eau Des Sens Soap post a while back, I just couldn’t get enough of this scent, and now I’m completely in love with the EDP. Eau Des Sens is a beautifully warm and refreshing scent that’s perfect for the warmer weather.

Diptyque Eau Des Sens promises to bring you “the scent of the orange tree in its entirety, from the white petals of the orange blossom to the dark green leaves to the juicy, bitter Seville orange hanging off the branches” – and that’s exactly what it does. It has a wonderful juicy citrus opening – taking you straight to Italy. The scent is fresh and summery, with top notes of Orange Flower and Bitter Orange blending with Juniper Berry at the heart, and Angelica and earthy Patchouli combine perfectly at the woody base.

Again this is a unisex, or gender-free scent. This could literally be worn by anyone. It’s summery, fresh and vibrant. Fans of citrus, fans of Italy and of course fans of Diptyque will no doubt fall in love with this scent.

Diptyque Eau Des Sens EDP is from £60.00 for 50ml, and available now from John Lewis.

Next is Barbour For Her EDT – this is the first fragrance from Barbour, and it’s definitely a winner. I really wasn’t sure what to expect with this scent – Barbour as a brand to me is high end outwear, wax jackets, quilted coats, horses… so how does that interpret into a fragrance? Well Barbour For Her is just the perfect every day scent, I completely love it. I’ve had numerous people ask me what I was wearing when out and about with this scent on. It’s sweet, fresh and sophisticated. Opening with fresh, sparkling fruity notes of Red Currant, contrasted by spicy Pink Pepper, this scent contains a beautifully floral blend of Rose, Jasmine and Blush Peony at the heart, and sweet Vanilla combined with rich notes of Vetiver at the base. This really is a must have every day scent – I dare you to find somebody that doesn’t like this!

Barbour for Her EDT is priced from £40.00 for 50ml, and available now at Selfridges.

And lastly we have Carven L’Absolu – this is another perfect day to day scent. Heavier than the above Barbour fragrance, L’Absolu EDP is floral and intense – yet not too much to put you off wearing in the day time. It’s voluptuous and sensuous, with an element of clean freshness that won’t go un-noticed.

L’Absolu opens with top notes of fresh Italian Green Mandarin Essence, combined with sensual Madagascan Ylang Ylang Essence. L’Absolu then moves into intense middles notes of Egyptian Absolute Jasmine, emphasised by beautiful Tuberose and Iris. The base comprises of rich oriental, notes, enhanced by Patchouli, Sandalwood and Spanish Absolute Cistus.

Carven L’Absolu EDP is from £42.00 for 30ml and available now at John Lewis.

So there we have it, what a gorgeous selection hey? I really can’t choose my favourite out of these scents! I’d love to hear if you have any of these? And what your favourite perfume is at the moment?

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Diptyque Eau Des Sens Soap

Posted on March 31, 2016

Hi Guys!

It’s been all of about a month since my last Diptyque fix, and I’m really excited about their latest launch – the gorgeous Eau Des Sens collection. I have the Eau des Sens soap to share with you today.

As much as I love Diptyque, I haven’t actually tried that many of their products – simply because they’re not readily available near me. I have a couple of fragrances, Tam Dao and Oyedo which you can read about in this post, and I must admit they’ve been tucked away at the back of my cupboard for way over a year now. More recently, I was more that just a little bit obsessed with the Rosaviola candle over the Valentines period last month, and now I have my first ever Diptyque soap!

Ok so yes I know it’s just a soap, and how much can you really say about a soap? Well I know it sounds a bit corny but this really isn’t ‘just a soap’. I can honestly say I’ve never smelled anything like this before. Firstly, I should tell you that the soap arrived wrapped in paper, in a pretty and very typical Diptyque box, covered in cellophane. After taking the cellophane off the box and peeking inside, before even removing the soap at all, the scent completely filled my kitchen within the hour. I really was so surprised, it was like I’d been spraying perfume around the room. And even though the fragrance clearly packs a punch, by no means was it too strong or over powering. I’m half tempted to just leave the soap on a plate on the windowsill to keep my kitchen smelling amazing!

Eau des Sens confuses the senses, like a piece of music, radiating from the skin. A vital vibration in a harmony of orange blossom, bitter orange, juniper berries, angelica and patchouli. Eau des Sens owes its originality to the way it is composed. A bitter orange, in all its diversity, resonating with unexpected spicy and woody notes. A delight for the senses.

And yes, the fragrance! The Eau des Sens fragrance is just so stunning. It’s described as ‘a sensational octave of scents‘, and the best way I can think of to describe it is ‘multi-faceted’. Neither particularly masculine nor feminine, this fragrance is warm and fresh, with a distinct citrus note which takes me straight to Italy. This scent is just like sunshine on warm skin, with a zesty freshness and a base of green and woody notes freshened by ginger.

I think any fans of Diptyque will be captivated by this fragrance, it’s definitely a must try! The Eau des Sens collection is available now from Diptyque.

I’d love to hear if you’re a fan of Diptyque? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Valentines Luxury Gift Guide

Posted on February 10, 2016

Hi Guys!

Following on from yesterday’s Affordable Valentine’s Gift Guide, I’ve now gathered together some gorgeous, high end and slightly more expensive beauty treats for you perusal today… enjoy!

The 001 Skincare Hydro Sensitive Replenish Duo (£59.00) contains a 30ml bottle of Rosa Damascena Essence Mist, and 15ml of Active Marine Power Concentrate – presented in a lovely gold clutch bag. These products are perfect for soothing and hydrating dry and sensitive skin. The Rosa Damascena Essence Mist instantly gives skin a burst of moisture, and its blend of 98% Rosa Damascena Flower Oil and Flower Water works as a powerful astringent to reduce inflammation and redness. Just spritz this on for a complexion that’s soothed, hydrated and brightened. The Active Marine Power Concentrate is a super-concentrated serum containing an algae complex to intensively moisturise skin and aid water retention inside our skin’s cells, for a collagen-plumping effect. Its antioxidant rich complex also helps intensively repair and brighten the complexion.

The Burberry Complete Eye Palette in Nude Blush (£40.00) really is a beauty to behold, from the packaging to the actual product, this stunning palette would make the perfect gift. It contains four eye shadow shades including a luminising base to highlight, two buildable colours to add shape and an intense colour to define. This is available in a variety of options, but Nude Blush really caught my eye. Its muted warm spring shades are perfect for those with fairer skin tones like myself.

For those looking to warm up dull winter complexions – i.e. me, Guerlain’s Terracotta Joli Teint (£36.50) is a must have. This is a three-in-one product combining the perfection of foundation with the effect of a skincare product, and the sun-kissed radiance of Terracotta. My complexion often hovers on the dull side of normal, so any products that can make me look a bit brighter and more alive are definitely makeup bag staples for me! This product gives skin a fabulous warming veil of colour, leaving your complexion looking more even and naturally radiant.

And of course I had to include a candle! The Diptyque Rosaviola Valentine 2016 candle (from £28.00) really is a must have for Valentine’s day. Diptyque have teamed up with quirky French fashion designer Olympia Le-Tan to create their limited edition Valentines collection, which includes candles, a scented oval and a solid perfume. The candle is housed in a cuter than cute frosted barbie pink glass, with the sweetest embroidered fabric label – sealed with a kiss. I love that this candle conveys a sense of humour and fun, and it also smells wonderful, with notes of rose, violet, lipstick and leather – just like the inside of a handbag, amazing!

Back to Guerlain again, the Guerlain Precious Light Illuminator (£32.00) is also a fantastic high end product. Similar to YSL’s Touche Eclat, this pen style illuminator is designed to minimise imperfections whilst maximising radiance. This product aimed to erase traces of fatigue with luxurious Gold Radiance Pigments and the Precious Rejuvenating Complex, to offer skin a natural looking glow. The formula contains Myrrh Oil, known for its regenerating properties, and Peptides to lift and smooth.

Next is Tom Ford Lip Colour in Scarlett Rouge (£38.00) Tom Ford’s lipsticks really are the height of luxury, and this beautiful shade Scarlett Rouge is perfect for Valentine’s day. I know £38.00 is a heck of a lot to spend on a single lipstick, and definitely not something I’d buy every day, but I can promise you once you try Tom Ford lippies, you won’t look back! (I also have my eye on the Jasmin Rouge Gift Set too!)

And lastly what would Valentine’s day be without a gorgeous fragrance? Cartier Eau De Cartier EDP (from £52.00) is a new favourite of mine. It’s a citrus, aromatic scent which is surprisingly unisex – and I say surprisingly because I’m usually not keen on unisex fragrances but I think this is rather lovely. Eau De Cartier is definitely more on the feminine side; it’s warm and fresh, yet sensual and sophisticated. It has top notes of Coriander, Yuzu and Bergamot, heart notes of Violet Leaf and Lavender and base notes of Cedar, Patchouli, Musk and White Amber.

I’d love to hear if any of these take your fancy? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Four Luxury Candles Perfect for Winter

Posted on January 13, 2016

Hi Guys!

Ok so I’ll be the first to admit, I do have a slight candle obsession. This has only been in recent years though. If you’d have suggested me spending £20 plus on a candle 10 years ago, I’d tell you to pull the other one! Maybe it’s because I have my own home now, and I want it to look and smell gorgeous? I also love the atmospheric and therapeutic attributes a candle can offer – candles can change the ambience of a room in a matter of moments, as well as creating a calming and relaxing environment.

Winter is definitely my favourite season for candles, I love the warming notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and Christmas spices wafting around my house on a cold winter’s day. So today I want to share some of my favourite luxury winter candles with you –

First up is the Petits Rituels By the Fire Candle (£35.00) – This beautifully packaged candle arrives housed in chic white glass, with the Petits Rituels logo printed on the front. It has the most gorgeously warming festive scent, including spicy Cinnamon & Clove, zesty Orange and Lemongrass, which blended together give an uplifting, happy and warm feeling – it reminds me of drinking hot mulled wine on a cold winter’s day.

Next is the beautiful Annick Goutal Noel Candle (£40.50) – Annick Goutal make some of the most stunning fragrances you can buy, and their candles are no exception. The Noel Candle is also a limited edition, only available over the winter months – why you’d want a candle like this any other month though I have no idea!

Apart from being decorative, the Noel candle has a beautifully nuanced scent, with notes of citrus fruits, spices, siberian pine and a strong flavour of resin. It’s a clean and fresh scent, it makes you think of being outdoors in the snow, waling through a forest in bright sunlight.

Next is the limited edition Arran Aromatics Nutmeg Embers Luxury Candle (Now on offer for £12.50) – Firstly I must apologise for the photo, this candle is actually printed in metallic silver on the inside of the glass, and with the glass itself being red and frosted, it makes the pattern and logo look a little blurry – hence why it looks out of focus!

This is a wonderfully large 295g candle, with a gorgeous comforting and warming seasonal scent. Nutmeg Embers captures the delicacy of nutmeg around a heart of spicy cardamom, cinnamon and cedarwood. Crowned with top notes of subtle citrus and imbued with aromatic vetiver. This is definitely a must have for the winter season, and at ono £12.50 it’s a bargain too!

And lastly the stunning Diptyque Liquidambar candle (from £28.00). Part of the 2015 holiday collection, Liquidambar is one of three limited edition candles designed by the painter Julien Colombier. This collection is dedicated to the olfactory attributes of trees – the artist provides the flow, the light, and the colours, and the Perfume House provides the texture, the flavours, and the fragrances.

Liquidambar is quite a masculine scent, it reminds me of a cologne though I can’t for the life of me think which one. There’s a definitely warmth to this candle, like sitting by the fire when it’s cold outside. It’s beautifully spicy, with notes of nutmeg and cinnamon (two of my favourite seasonal scents) and there’s also muscovado sugar, to add sweetness. This is the perfect candle to burn on a chilly winter’s evening.

So what do you think? Do you have any of these candles? I’d love to hear which candles you love to burn in winter?
