How To Wear PINK Eyeliner! | Tutorial

Posted on August 1, 2014

Hi Guys!

I thought I’d write a bit of a tutorial today, you know Bourjois have released some awesome new eyeliners? Well I was missing one from my collection, the neon pink one – ‘Pink About You’ and one of my lovely blogger friends (Hayley from teapartybeauty) offered to send me hers as she said wouldn’t use it. Thanks lovely! Now pink eyeliner is definitely not for the faint hearted, and this colour is a proper shocking pink! I think wearing pink on the eyes can be tricky, so I thought I’d put together a little tutorial on how I wear this amaze colour!

I have to say, I think I’ve also found the secret to wearing pink eyeliner… It needs to be a true pink, preferably heading towards fuscia, and I think a cooler tone helps too. If you go for a more reddish or orangey pink I’d definitely recommend you not to wear it in the waterline, this colour would be closer to the red shade on the inside of your eyelids so just beware as you may end up looking like you have some sort of eye disease! 🙂

Ok so first of all, a disclaimer type thing! These images have been edited – but only slightly. I’ve just sharpened up the line between the pink and black eyeliner colours, and evened out the colour of the pink eyeliner (damn my wrinkly lids!) just to make them look better for you. But the colours are still definitely the same, they really are this bright!

So on to the tutorial!

1. I used W.O.S from the Naked Palette (a nude cream coloured matte) and covered the whole eye area with this, it’s the perfect colour for a base.

2. I then used Faint (taupe) from the same palette in the crease fairly lightly to add a bit of depth. And Venus (cream coloured shimmer) on the inner corners of the eyes to highlight.

3. Then I grabbed my Pink About You eyeliner and lined the whole upper lashes with a thick line and flick.

4. I went over this with a Barry M pen style eyeliner right near the lash line, making sure to leave some visible pink (if there’s not enough visible you can always thicken the pink line carefully after)

5. I also used Crave (almost black) from The Naked Basics palette under the bottom lashes, and I used Bourjois Dynamint eyeliner in the waterline.

6. Finish with Bourjois 1 Seconde Mascara. Done!

7. FYI I also used Faint on my brows as I couldn’t find my brow kit, it was the prefect colour! And Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser on my under eyes to brighten.

Benefit They’re Real! Push Up Eye Liner | Review

Posted on June 26, 2014

Hi Guys!

Well, I was the happiest bunny in the land yesterday when I came home to find an unexpected parcel waiting for me. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I opened it to find a Benefit They’re Real Push Up Liner from Lookfantastic! Seriously thank you so much guys! This was the nicest surprise ever! I’ve been checking this eye liner out ever since Benefit started promoting it a fair while ago. Since then I’ve read quite a few reviews, and most of them were positive so I really wanted to give this intriguing new product a go!

If by some strange reason you haven’t heard of the They’re Real Push Up liner, where have you been? Really?? It’s Benefit’s latest big product launch, and the newest eyeliner on the beauty market. It’s obviously paired with the They’re Real Mascara – which I happen to love. So I have really high hopes for the liner too!

This eye liner is described as ‘the FIRST EVER lash-hugging gel liner in a pen‘ The formula is a matte black gel, that shouldn’t budge or smudge at all. The idea is that the special AccuFlex™ Tip hugs your lashline from corner to corner so the product gets right in to the lash line.

It’s pretty easy to use, you just twist the base to push the gel up to the tip, and apply starting from the inner corner of the eye. Simples right? Benefit have also included a handy guide to help you.

On first inspection the pen is pretty weird looking! The tip is made of flexible rubber with a fine slit in the top for the gel to come through. When you first open the pen there’s an orange bung in the end to stop the product from leaking.

You then just twist the bottom of the pen to make the product come out. I first swatched this on the back of my hand and found you can get a really fine line. I drew a few lines and when I went to clean my hand it had already dried, I realised then this stuff is pretty tough to remove!

When I applied this to my eyes I found it a bit awkward at first, but as soon as I got used to the technique and got the hang of it I was on a roll! I managed a fantastic feline flick on my left eye on my first attempt! But I also managed to smudge my right eye and panicked whilst I rushed to clean the smudge off before it dried!

I’ve now been wearing the liner for the majority of the day with no problems, I’ve rubbed my eyes lightly and there was only the slightest transfer. The colour in a deep intense pigmented black, it’s easy to work with and you can very easily create a fantastic flick with a bit of practice! I’m really happy with this product!

So what do you think? Have you tried this eye liner yet?

I’d love to hear your thoughts! xxx

Clinique Quickliner For Eyes Dark Chocolate Eyeliner Review

Posted on October 28, 2013

Hi Guys!

Today’s post is a review of Clinique’s Quickliner for Eyes in Dark Chocolate. I’m a total eyeliner fanatic, it’s the one makeup item I feel I can’t live without, so when SMP Boutique asked if I would like to review this product I jumped at the chance!

The eyeliner is in a ‘twist up’ style, so no sharpening is required. This really is a plus point as sharpening a pencil loses product, so you actually waste no product at all this way. The pencil also has a smudger at the end so you can soften your look.

The pencil draws smoothly on the skin, there is no dragging, and the colour lasts all day!

I love this colour on my eyes, the dark brown is great as an alternative to black for a more natural look. Oh and did I mention this eyeliner is only £4.25!? You can’t barely buy a drugstore eyeliner for that price! You can still purchase this at full price from the Clinique site at £15!

SMP Boutique also stock loads of other big name brands including MAC, Urban Decay, NARS, Bobbi Brown, Chanel and Dior, all at hugely discounted prices, make sure you check them out!

You can use code TSNC at the checkout for a 10% discount on your order, happy shopping! 🙂

I hope you enjoyed my review! xxx
