Beauty: New Dior Products at Feelunique

Posted on August 22, 2017

Hi Guys!

I have the pleasure today of trying out, and sharing with you a few exciting new products from Dior Beauty at Feelunique. I have a gorgeous eyeshadow palette, a new lip tint, and a cushion foundation, as well as a couple of new fragrances – lets get stuck in!

Starting with the Dior Addict Lip Tattoo (£25.00) – described as the first long wear lip tint by Dior, the Lip Tattoo promises 10-hour hold with a comfortable, weightless formula, as well as a no transfer finish.

Though it looks like a normal lipstick, the Lip Tattoo is far from what you’d expect from a traditional liquid lipstick – the Lip Tattoo has a light liquid texture that feels barely there on the lips, and it applies with a sheer finish that gives lips a light flush of colour while boosting their natural tone. I have shade Natural Rosewood 491 which is a pretty muted rose shade that’s subtle in terms of colour and slightly deepens the shade of my natural lips – it’s the perfect lip stain for the coming Autumn.

I also have one of the many 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palettes (£45.00) – this gorgeous palette is in option 767 Inflame, and it contains five beautiful eyeshadows in both matte and satin finishes. I’m beyond impressed with both the pigmentation and the texture of these eyeshadows – they’re buttery soft and really do blend like a dream. I particularly love the middle shade which is a pretty matte coral pink, and the bottom left shade which is a deeper rose toned pink with a lovely shimmer finish.

And lastly for makeup, the Diorskin Forever Cushion Foundation (£35.00) – promising a perfect complexion for up to 16hrs, the Diorskin Forever Cushion Foundation contains fine mattifying powders to instantly create the perfect luminous matte finish, as well as a combination of two Wear-Lock polymers which adorn the skin in a stretchy veil to set the texture and pigments.

I have the lightest shade available, 011 Cream. Initially I thought this may be slightly on the yellow side, but on application it actually suited my neutral skin tone well. It was also lighter coverage that what I was expecting, which is fine but personally I like a little more coverage than what this foundation offers. The finish however, was really nice. It was definitely matte, yet velvety rather than an intense matte, and it also gave my complexion a slight luminosity which I loved. This is definitely worth a try if you’re looking for a base with a light, natural matte finish.

On to fragrance now, I have the beautiful Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming EDP (from £49.50 for 30ml) – Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming is the new olfactory variation of Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet, and it’s a wonderfully joyful floral scent that’s easy to wear every day –

The fragrance opens with tangy and striking top notes of Red Berry Accord, with Raspberry, Pomegranate and Blackcurrant Accord heightened by the spicy teasing tingle of Pink Peppercorn. At the heart the magnificent Grasse Rose Absolute unfurls in perfect harmony with the beautifully spirited Rosa Damascena, while the exquisite May Rose embraces a radiant Peony Accord. The base of White Musk notes envelops the entire composition to leave you with a fresh and rounded finish.

  • Top Notes: Raspberry, Pomegranate, Blackcurrant and Pink Peppercorn.
  • Heart Notes: Grasse Rose Absolute, Rosa Damascena, May Rose and Peony Accord.
  • Base Notes: White Musks.

And lastly J’Adore In Joy EDT (from £59.00 for 50ml) – whenever I see a J’Adore fragrance bottle, I always imagine Charlize Theron strutting towards the camera whilst ripping off her jewellery fin the iconic TV advert… anyway, J’Adore In Joy is the latest fragrance in the J’Adore family.

For this scent, Dior perfumers have created an original note – Fleur de Sel that seems to sit on the tip of your tongue. Described as both joyful and fresh, this note is instantly charming and equally compelling. At the heart shines tropical and solar Ylang-Ylang and Jasmine Sambac, leading to a base of a fruity, juicy Peach note, giving the fragrance velvety softness that renders the composition even more delicious.

  • Top Notes: Fleur de sel.
  • Heart Notes: Ylang Ylang and Jasmine Sambac.
  • Base Notes: Peach.

All the above products and more are available now at Feelunique.

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Heatwave! All The Beauty Products You Need Right Now…

Posted on July 7, 2017

Hi Guys!

The warm weather has finally hit the UK, and being British, of course we just don’t know what to do with ourselves – well personally I don’t function so well in the heat, so I’ve been hiding indoors wherever possible! Today, I’ve put together a few products, aiming to help you fight the frizz with your hair, keep skin cool, and prevent makeup from sliding down your face…

So starting from the top, for hair protection I have the Phytoplage Original Protective Sun Oil (£17.00 at John Bell & Croyden) – this is a luxurious hair oil that’s perfect for protecting dry and damaged hair that has been weakened by the effects of sun exposure. It includes a natural UV filter and nourishes and moistures the hair so becomes soft and supple.

And the Phytoplage Huile Protective Sun Veil (£16.00 at John Bell & Croyden) – for those with normal to dry hair, the Protective Sun Veil offers an invisible UV filter including Sunflower Extract, Illipe Extract, White Lotus Extract and Sweet Almond to protect, hydrate and nourish hair.

If the dreaded summer frizz is a problem for you, Kerasilk have some fantastic products that can help. The Kerasilk Control De-Frizz Primer (£21.50 at Goodwill Salons) is packed with Keratin and Liquid Silk to instantly tame frizz & flyaway’s whilst working to protect against heat & humidity. And the Kerasilk Control Humidity Barrier Spray (£21.50 at Goldwell Salons) – shields styled hair from high humidity to block frizz, whilst giving a shiny, weightless finish.

Onto skincare now, the RMK Skintuner Cooling Gel – (£32.00 at Selfridges) is perfect for calming and refreshing the skin. It has a light gel formula that melts into the skin, absorbing quickly and leaving a smooth finish, without any stickiness. It contains extracts of Citrus and Bilberry, which permeate the skin, protecting against dryness, whilst helping to retain moisture.

For a cheaper alternative, the L’Oreal Hydra Genuis Moisturiser for Sensitive Skin (£9.99 at Boots) is a fantastic affordable moisturiser. Inspired by Asian skincare, Hydra Genuis promises to deliver pure moisture that penetrates quickly, deeply and continuously, without overloading the skin. It contains Aloe Vera Sap and Hyaluronic Acid to instantly refresh the skin and lock in moisture. This has a very similar texture to the above Skintuner Cooling Gel, and also promises to release continuous hydration for up to 72 hours.

I’ve also been loving the Uriage Eau Thermale Water (£8.50 at John Bell & Croyden) – this is a skincare water that you just spritz on your face whenever you want a cooling and refreshing hit. The formula contains trace elements and Mineral Salts, to moisturise, and it helps to sooth sensitive skin thanks to its high content of Calcium and Magnesium Salts.

And lastly the Bioderma Photoderm Bronz SPF50 Invisible Mist (£24.00 at John Bell & Croyden) – I have to say it really doesnt get better than this for sun protection. This invisible mist for face and body offers super high SPF50 protection combined with a 100% transparent, non oily and non sticky texture. It’s also alcohol free, doesnt dry the skin and helps to prolong your tan – what more could you need?

For makeup, the Cover FX Custom Blot Drops (£34.00 at Space NK) – are definitely worth a shot if you suffer with oily skin. These matifying drops work to control excess oil, reduce shine and clear pores. They also contain light diffusing particles to reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores whilst Chamomile Extract soothes and tones the skins texture for a flawless matte finish. You can either apply the product direct to the skin, or mix in with your foundation or moisturiser to customise results.

I also have the Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder (£13.50 at Boots) – this super lightweight, translucent setting powder is perfect for locking makeup in place, and offers a smudge and water resistant finish for up to 16 hours. It has a microfine texture that is translucent upon application, meaning it doesn’t affect the colour of your foundation, and gives a velvety matte, natural looking finish.

Clarins also have a few new products that are perfect for combatting the hot weather. The Clarins Pore Perfecting Matifying Foundation (£28.00 at Clarins) – this foundation has a matte finish and acts like an ‘imperfection eraser’ by smoothing out fine lines and pores with its micro-beads made from Acacia Gum. It promises to leave skin refreshed, smooth and comfortable.

And I love the Clarins Pore Perfecting Matifying Kit (£33.00 at Clarins) – this super handy little kit contains everything you need to smooth and mattify your skin on the go. The palette opens to reveal a transparent pressed powder to smooth the skin and mask pores, as well as refillable mattifying papers to instantly absorb shine. This kit is definitely handy to keep in your handbag over the summer months.

I’d love to hear which beauty products you rely on when the weather heats up? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Beauty: Nip & Fab Launches New Makeup Line!

Posted on June 8, 2017

Hi Guys!

A few weeks ago now I received a surprise package from the team behind Nip & Fab – and I was so excited to find it contained a selection of products from their brand new makeup line.

Nip & Fab have been making high quality, reasonably priced skincare products for many years now, so I think makeup is a great addition to their range, as well as being a natural progression for the brand. Let’s take a look at the products…

Ok so Nip & Fab have launched quite a large range of makeup products initially, which is great news. Starting with the Foundation (£12.95) – there are 10 shades available, which look to span a decent range of colours, and they’ve also included a pure white Foundation Light Mixer to lighten any foundation you may already have, and a dark brown Foundation Dark Mixer, to deepen your foundation should you want to.

I have the foundation in shade 25, which as you can see definitely isn’t the right shade for me, but it appears to give a nice natural / dewy finish with medium coverage.

I tried mixing it with some of the foundation lightener to get a better shade, and though the lightener worked well to change the colour, it still didn’t really work as the right colour for me. I already have a foundation that is slightly too dark for me (but otherwise the right tone) so I’m going to try the Light Mixer with that and see if I can get a spot on match.

Next on to the Colour Correctors (£8.95). These come in a selection of four shades, to help correct any colour issues you may have –

  • Banana – This yellow toned corrector is great for concealing dark under eye circles and can be used to subtly highlight and brighten the high points of the face.
  • Lavender – This purple toned corrector eliminates any unwanted yellow undertones to the skin and works well under foundation to create a perfectly even-toned complexion.
  • Terracotta – The warm orange tone neutralises blue undertones and is ideal for concealing under eye circles and dark spots.
  • Peppermint – This green toned corrector neutralises redness on the skin and is ideal for covering blemishes and reducing irregular skin pigmentation.

For the lips, Nip & Fab have included Liquid Lipsticks (£7.95) and a small selection of Lip Liners (£5.95) in their launch. I have the full collection of Liquid Lipsticks which I thought would be worth swatching and sharing, as the colours look quite similar when placed together. The shades are all light to medium nudes including beige, pink and brown tones –

From left to right –

  • Cinnamon – a mid toffee brown nude.
  • Toffee – a mid caramel nude.
  • Biscuit – a warm brown caramel nude.
  • Marshmallow – a mid peach toned nude.
  • Pink Lemonade – a light pink toned nude.
  • Candy – a light beige pink nude.
  • Tart – a light cool toned nude.
  • Cool Nude – a light cool toned beige.

(Since trying these, Nip & Fab have also added three new slightly darker nude shades of Liquid Lipsticks to their site – Brownie, Spice and Brandy)

And here are the swatches – somehow I managed to misplace Cinnamon between photographing it and swatching, and I still haven’t found it. It’s literally just disappeared! So the above swatches start on the left with Toffee.

I have to say my favourite shades are Biscuit, Marshmallow and Pink Lemonade – these are all slightly pink or peach toned, and aren’t too light, which I think make them easier to wear. I’ve worn a couple of these and they dry down in decent time and last for hours before you need to re-apply.

Nip & Fab have also included a nice selection of palettes in their initial launch. There are eyeshadow palettes and contour palettes, and a single highlighter palette and blush palette. I have the Contour Palette in Dark and the Highlighter Palette.

The Highlighter Palette (£15.00) contains six large sized pans –

  • Selfie – a light cream coloured shimmer.
  • Champagne – a warm champagne shimmer.
  • Golden – a slightly yellow toned shimmer.
  • Sunbeam – a light golden bronze.
  • Rose Gold – a warm rose gold.
  • Sunkissed – a deep warm bronze.

The three lighter shades work best for me just because I’m super pale. I also love the darker shades used as eyeshadows.

And lastly I have the Contour Palette in Dark (£15.00). Again this contains six decent sized pans, this time they are all matte shades –

  • Tan – a light caramel brown.
  • Chestnut – a mid reddish brown.
  • Cocoa – a deep warm brown.
  • Sugar – a light peach.
  • Soft Honey – a light warm brown, slightly lighter than Tan.
  • Sunset – a bright terracotta orange.

These shades are all quite warm toned, and far too dark for my fair skin tone personally – but again I’ve used these a few times as eyeshadows and they work really well!

Nip & Fab’s range of makeup is available now at Nip+Fab.com

New In Beauty: Products Worth Checking Out!

Posted on September 13, 2016

Hi Guys!

There have been so many fantastic beauty launches recently, I thought I’d put a post together to show you some of my favourites that are definitely worth checking out. There’s a mixture of high end as well as affordable products here, so hopefully there will be something for everyone. Get your wish lists at the ready!

Ok so let’s start with the L’Occitane La Flamme Candle (£8.00 at L’Occitane) – this just ticks all the boxes for me. You may know by now that I have a slight candle obsession, and this one smells lovely, with a delicate citrus scent, it’s also very affordable and on top of that 100% of the profits go to charity.

The limited edition La Flamme Candle has been developed in an exclusive partnership with Marie Claire in order to raise funds for the education of girls and young women in developing countries. 100% of the profits will be donated to selected charities supporting girls’ schools and education projects in Cambodia, Uganda, Sierre Leone and Burkina Faso – this is a must have!

Next, a couple of new products from one of my favourite beauty brands, Clarins. I love Clarins lips products and their Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors (18.00) and Daily Energiser Lip Balm (£18.00, both at John Lewis) are just gorgeous every-day products.

The Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors now come in three new shades – Pink Shimmer, Orange Shimmer and Red Shimmer – giving lips an instant plump, glossy shine which nourishes and prevents dehydration. And the Daily Energiser Lip Balm offers 8 hours of hydration whilst smoothing and plumping – it also subtly enhances the colour of your lips.

Another favourite brand of mine, Lancome have recently launched their Grandiose Liner (£23.00) and Extreme Mascara (£25.00) both at House of Fraser.

The Grandiôse Liner is a truly innovative product offering a bendable wand which you can angle pretty much however you like, to help you get right into the base of the lashes and create the perfect line. It also has an ultra fine tip for creating a super sharp cat-eye, and the product formula has a long-lasting, smudge-resistant matte finish. The Grandiôse Extrême Mascara also features a ‘Swan-Neck’ wand and high-precision brush which grabs lashes close to the roots to beautifully fan them out on application. Grandiose Extreme gives extreme volume and an ultra intense longwear look for up to 24 hours.

And the Pur Cosmetics HydraFluid Water Serum Foundation (£28.00 at Beauty Bay) – I actually have a fantastic powder compact from Pur which I’ve been using for a long time, so I was excited to try out their latest foundation offering. The Hydra Fluid Water Serum Foundation utilises a unique Water Complex which combines water sourced from the Swiss Alps to penetrate the deepest layers of the skin with intense hydration. The formula is thin and watery, feeling lightweight on the skin and giving light to medium coverage. Those with dry or dehydrated skin who are looking for a lightweight base should definitely check this out.

Colour correcting products are everywhere at the moment, and this Sleek Colour Corrector Palette (£7.99 at Boots) is a fantastic budget option. It contains six easy-to-blend colour correctors to minimise skin imperfections and counteract discolouration, leaving you with an even base for flawless foundation application.

And if you’re looking for some new lip balms on the cheap, this I Heart Makeup I Heart My Lips Set (£10.00 at Tam Beauty) could be right up your street. The set includes five pill shaped balms in an assortment of flavours for only £10.00 – so there’s one for your bag, your desk, your car… you get the idea!

On the subject of lip balms, the ESPA Nourishing Lip Treatment (£19.00 at John Lewis) is definitely worth picking up if you’re looking for something a little more intensive. This nourishing Lip Treatment is packed with active ingredients to instantly smooth and soften the lips, whilst adding a hint of gloss. My dry lips have been loving this lately!

While we’re talking about lips, if you’re looking to treat yourself, personally I think you can’t beat a lipstick. And if you’re feeling pretty flush, a Chantecaille Lipstick (£30.00 at Space NK) is definitely worth the money – this lipstick is smooth and comfortable, and the formula is enriched with vitamins A and C and emollient amino acids for a super luxurious feel on the lips.

On to hair now – L’Oreal Professional have a couple of new styling products, in the form of French Froisse Texture Definition Cream, and Messy Cliche Texture Definition Spray (£11.95 each at HQ Hair). So basically the cream is for thick hair, and the spray is for fine hair, and they both pretty much do the same thing, giving you tousled, textured lengths with natural shine.

And not forgetting The Body Shop Tea Tree 3-in-1 wash scrub mask (£8.00 at The Body Shop) – this is a multi-use 3-in-1 product which can be used as a wash to remove excess oil, a scrub to exfoliate and unclog pores, or a mask to combat blemishes and tighten pores. I love multi-tasking products and I know this will definitely get a lot of use in my household.

Soap and Glory are alway coming up with gorgeous new products, and their latest The Righteous Butter Diamond Edition (£8.00 at Soap & Glory) is a must have for S&G fans! This is basically a re-vamped edition of their famous Righteous Butter, with added pearlescent shimmer, mica powders and real diamond dust!

Next we have the Erborian Liquid BB Creme Au Ginseng ($48.00 at Sephora) – I love a cushion foundation and Erborian’s Liquid BB Cream is a fantastic compact. It contains Ginseng, known in Korea for its smoothing properties and gives lightweight, sheer coverage to help even out skin tone, leaving the complexion feeling fresh and moisturised.

I also love the new W7 Shade & Swap (£4.95 at W7) – this handy little pot instantly cleans your makeup brushes so you can swap between colours quickly and easily. Just sweep your brush over the sponge a couple of times and Bob’s your uncle!

Kiehls is another favourite skincare brand of mine, and their MTV Staying Alive Ultra Facial Cream (£43.50 at John Lewis) is definitely worth picking up if you’re in need of a new moisturiser. This Limited edition Ultra Facial Cream continuously replenishes moisture throughout the day, leaving skin feeling smooth, soft and hydrated. And for each pot sold, Kiehl’s will give £10.00 to the MTV Staying Alive Foundation to support 3 projects around the world to empower young women.

Well there we have it, I hope you found this post useful – please do let me know if you have any of these products, I’d love to hear your thoughts! xxx

Urban Decay #UDGetAway Summer Collection

Posted on May 4, 2016

Hi Guys!

If you’re a fan of the brand, you’ll probably know by now that Urban Decay’s fantastic summer collection has already landed, and as expected, there’s a gorgeous range of summer-inspired products up for grabs! I have a few of them to show you today – enjoy!

Unsurprisingly, the Urban Decay Get Away summer products are focusing on gorgeous bronzed and glowing skin, with base products including bronzer and highlighter, as well as a couple of eye brightening pencils too. The range includes –

  • Naked Skin One and Done Complexion Perfector
  • Afterglow Highlighters
  • Beach Bronzer
  • Naked Concealer
  • Eye Brightener Pencils

Starting with the Naked Skin One & Done SPF20 – described as a Hybrid Complexion Perfector, this multi-tasking base promises to instantly blur imperfections and even out skin tone. One and Done is your primer and foundation all in one – it has a super lightweight feel, containing peptides, vitamins and moisturisers to improve the look of skin as well as adding radiance, for a natural, glowing look.

When it comes to makeup, some of us like to bare it all when the sun comes out, whereas for others it’s business as usual. Personally, I like to lighten up my base with a tinted moisturiser, and this is where One and Done comes in. It’s amazingly lightweight on the skin like a tinted moisturiser, but also has fantastic coverage and a blurring effect. It’s also worth mentioning the Light-diffusing spheres included in the formula, which immediately help flaws appear to disappear. I think those that wear light to medium foundations over the summer would be very impressed with this product indeed.

Naked Skin One and Done is £25.00 and comes in six shades raging from Light to Deep – the shade I have above is Medium, which is unfortunately way too dark for me. You can see it gives a lovely ‘natural’ skin finish though, and it also offers fantastic coverage considering how lightweight the formula is.

The Afterglow Highlighters are next, and they’re probably my favourite products from the collection. I must admit, I am a bit highlighter mad at the moment though, there are just so many gorgeous ones being released! The Afterglow Highlighters come in three beautiful and versatile shades –

  • Sin – a shimmery champagne beige (I don’t have this, and unfortunately it’s sold out at the moment)
  • Fireball – a warm pinky orange, which reflects intense fiery pink in the light.
  • Aura – a light baby pink frost, perfect for very fair and fair skin tones.

These highlighters are super finely milled, resulting in a wonderfully soft and creamy texture. I’d definitely describe the texture as creamy rather than powdery. There really is no fall out with these products – it’s almost like a powder-to-cream formula. You’ll also be glad to hear that they apply like a dream, it’s easy to apply and wear these shades very sheer, but also easy (and fun) to ramp up the intensity if you like your highlighter to be seen from space 😀

The Afterglow Highlighters are £19.00 each, and as mentioned above, they come in three gorgeous shades.

And lastly, the collection also contains two brand new eye pencils, which I’m very impressed with (this is hardly surprising as I’m a massive fan of Urban Decay’s eyeliner pencils) The pencils included in the summer collection are all about brightening and opening up the eyes. There’s Walk of Shame, which is a 24/7 Waterline pencil. This is a nude flesh shade, designed specifically for brightening the waterline, giving a wide-eyed look. The other pencil is Heartless, this is a standard 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil, in a steely metallic baby pink – perfect for adding highlight to the inner corners of the eyes. Both pencils are just what you need in your makeup bag to make you look bright eyed and bushy tailed!

The 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencils and Waterline Eye Pencils are £15.50 each.

Overall, it really is a fantastic collection. Beautifully presented packaging plus top notch formulas mean these really are must-have products for the coming summer. I’m SO in love with the Afterglow Highlighters, I need to grab Sin when it comes back in stock online, I also love the feel of the One and Done Perfector, I think Light would be more my shade though so this is now at the top of my wish list!

The Urban Decay #UDGetAway Summer Collection is available to buy now from Urban Decay.

NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint Review

Posted on April 10, 2016

Hi Guys!

I’d heard fairly mixed reviews about NARS’ latest release – their Velvet Mate Skin Tint, but as I’m a bit of a sucker for NARS products I couldn’t wait to try it out for myself to find out if it really was any good…

So NARS’ Velvet Matte Skin Tint is basically a lightweight foundation, offering light, natural looking ‘second-skin’ coverage, whilst evening out and brightening the complexion. It has an oil-free formula which includes SPF 30, and it promises to blur imperfections, smooth the appearance of pores and fine lines, and control shine throughout the day whilst giving a soft matte finish.

I really like to mix things up with my base, depending on what I’m doing that day and what look I’m going for. I love a light coverage foundation or tinted moisturiser for day to day use when I’m not really up to much, and I prefer a heavier finish for evening or if my skin is looking particularly under the weather. My complexion can also often look a bit dull and uneven, so if I can rectify this with a quick application with fingers then I’m a happy bunny – and I’m hoping the Velvet Matte Skin Tint will be just the answer for quick application on a day to day basis.

The shade I have is Groenland – this is one of the lighter shades in the range (though not the lightest) and it has a slight pink undertone. I’m lucky that my complexion is pretty neutral, so I can usually get away with either warm or cool toned foundations – I often go slightly warm to warm up my complexion though, so I’m hoping this shade will be spot on for me.

On application, I thought that Groenland might be slightly too warm for me, you can see on my hand swatch below, but luckily the formula is light, so once I’d blended into the skin this wasn’t actually a problem. Also, as my skin tends to be on the dry side I usually stay away from matte finishes, just because matte foundations will often emphasise dry areas. I’m happy to report back that even though this product was matte, I didn’t have any problems with it. I’d say its not a true ‘flat’ matte, definitely more of a ‘real skin’ matte that looked super natural. I made sure my face was well moisturised before application (to be on the safe side) and had no problems with my dry areas at all.

I also just want to emphasise that this won’t give amazing coverage – so if that’s what you’re looking for then you’re barking up the wrong tree here! The Velvet Matte Skin Tint is all about a natural, true-to-life skin finish, which is perfect for evening out skin tone, giving a naturally flawless look. It did a good job of blurring the appearance of my pores too, and over all I’m really impressed with this product, I’d definitely recommend it for those looking for a day to day base that gives light coverage.

NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint is available now from House of Fraser. And don’t forget, there’s still time to pick this up in the House of Fraser Beauty Event – be quick though, it ends tonight!

I’d love to hear if you have a favourite foundation? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Georgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation + £10 Discount

Posted on September 16, 2015

Hi Guys!

The Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation is not a new product by any means, I think it’s been around since early 2013 actually but I just never got round to picking one up. I haven’t tried any other beauty products by Giorgio Armani before either, so I was really excited when House of Fraser kindly sent this over to me to review…

Georgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation is described as a silky, lightweight foundation, that captures the glow of perfect looking skin. I tend to go for this type of base rather than a matte finish as my skin is a bit of a pain and tends be be dry in places, and no matter how much I try to improve my skin, there’s always a least a bit of dryness going somewhere on my face! Foundations with matte finishes will more often than not highlight dry areas, and apart from that they just seem to not sit so well on my skin.

So this foundation really does sound perfect for my skin type, it’s an oil-free hydrating fluid with Georgio Armani’s exclusive Micro-fil™ technology. Its also described as lightweight, with a silky texture that glides on seamlessly for an all-day, buildable coverage.

Well, I can tell you this is definitely a keeper! I’d describe the coverage as medium, which can be easily built up where required. The liquid itself is super light weight, and it reminds me a bit of the YSL Fusion Ink Foundation but this is not quite as watery feeling, and it really does give the most natural, seamless ‘no-makeup’ finish. There’s no cakeyness, no creasing and no dryness with this foundation at all. It also has a super lightweight feel on the skin that’s so comfortable you don’t actually feel like yore wearing foundation, which I just love.

I have shade 3.5 which is perfect to give a hint of glow to my pale complexion, also this foundation comes 21 shades in all, so there should be something to suit everyone. I’d highly recommend it to anyone with dry skin like me that’s looking for a natural, no-makeup finish.

This fantastic foundation is also part of House of Fraser’s latest Beauty Confidential offer which has recently started…
