Beauty: New Giorgio Armani Lip Magnets

Posted on October 10, 2016

Hi Guys!

The brand new Georgio Armani Lip Magnets have recently landed at TSNC HQ, and I’ve wasted no time getting stuck in and trying them all out!

Firstly the name Lip Magnet is rather interesting. I wasn’t too sure what to make of this at first, but the idea is that these are matte liquid lipsticks that specifically bind with the lips for a long lasting, no-migration effect. Which sounds pretty good to me!

The Lip Magnets have been inspired by two of Giorgio Armani Beauty’s most iconic products: the ultra-thin film of their Maestro Fusion Makeup and the incredible colour intensity of their Lip Maestro Velvet Lip Colours. The combination of these features gives the Lip Magnets a super lightweight texture, with the benefit of intense pigmentation.

With this product, Giorgio Armani promises a chic matte finish, with flawless, long-lasting wear – and I have to say I am pretty impressed with the results!

Before I go any further, let me just mention the packaging, which is quite small yet striking – I love the bright red lids! And the applicator has a small indent in the centre, where the product collects when you push the wand into the tube. I like that this holds more product without building up on the applicator, making it hard to use and apply. I also think it’s nice that the applicator is shaped to a point, to help with precision application around the edge of the lips.

There are 18 shades to choose from of which I have eight –

  • 502 Mania – an almost neon blue toned barbie pink.
  • 300 Tangerine – a bright tangerine orange.
  • 301 Heat – a hot mid toned orange.
  • 403 Vibrato – a mid pink toned berry.
  • 504 Nuda – a light nude pink.
  • 505 Second Skin – a nude pink.
  • 600 Front Row – a deep mauve.
  • 601 Attitude – a deep plum.

After trying all the shades I think Giorgio Armani have done a great job of creating a product to bridge the gap of where a traditional matte lip product becomes comfortable to wear. If you wear matte liquid lipsticks you’ll know they can be incredibly drying, and if you have even the hint of a dry lip before applying them, you’re asking for trouble. The Lip Magnets give a lovely velvety matte finish, that though isn’t quite as opaque as other matte liquid lipsticks I’ve tried (though that can be layered up) you do have the element of comfort here – and therefore improved wearability. Of course it really depends what you’re looking for in a lip product – but if you’re looking for a decently pigmented matte liquid lipstick that won’t turn your lips into a shrivelled prune (you know what I mean!) then you should definitely check these out.

The Georgio Armani Lip Magnets are £27.00 and available now at Armani Beauty.

Armani Prima Collection: Making your Makeup Last Longer #PrimaSkinStories

Posted on September 18, 2016

Hi Guys!

I hope you’re having a great weekend? I have a brand new range of products to share with you today – the Armani Prima collection by Georgio Armani offers targeted skincare solutions for anyone who finds their makeup becoming problematic throughout the day. Whether your eyeshadow creases, your foundation fades, or your skin becomes oily and shiny, Georgio Armani have a solution for you!

The Prima range aims ‘to convert makeup lovers into skincare lovers‘ and includes five products to prevent pretty much any type of makeup disaster before it happens –

  • Smart Moisture Serum – to stop foundation fading throughout the day.
  • Glow-On Moisturising Balm – to help eradicate shine.
  • Eye & Lip Contour Perfector – to prevent eyeshadow creasing / stop lipstick fading and smudging around the lips.
  • Day Long Skin Perfector – to stop foundation becoming cakey and patchy, and settling into pores and fine lines.
  • Refreshing Makeup Fix – to help your makeup stay put all day.

I have three products from the collection –

The Glow-on Moisturizing Balm (£62.00) is a wonderfully luxurious, yet lightweight balm. I wanted to make a point of saying its lightweight because I think people often assume a ‘luxurious’ product like this would be heavy and rich – this is very much the opposite though. The Glow-on Moisturizing Balm has been formulated to give you glowing, plumped skin as well as 24 hour moisture. The balm instantly melts into the skin and contains Georgio Armani’s Liquid Mirror Complex, which ensures a prolonged reflection of the light on the skin. I’ve used this a couple of times now and I just love how it makes my skin feel incredibly smooth and even before applying my makeup. It worked well at helping my foundation to stay put and keeping shine at bay around my nose.

The Eye & Lip Contour Perfector (£35.00) is an ingenious 2-in-1 product that targets both the lips and under eye area. It contains Buckwheat extract and Haloxyl to reduce dark circles and under eye puffiness, and Glycerin, Jojoba butter and Hydralip to give intensified hydration and reduce fine lines. Personally, I love using this on my lips – it feels so smooth and nourishing, like a super luxurious lip balm. It definitely primes the lips well making them super soft before applying lipstick, and I noticed my lipstick lasted longer when using this product prior to application.

And lastly the Refreshing Makeup Fix (£30.00) – this fantastic setting spray refreshes, protects and sets in just one spritz. I’m a big fan of any spray products for the face, whether it’s a setting spry or a face mist – and I love that this both sets your makeup and gives a boost of refreshment in one product. The Refreshing Makeup Fix sprays a light, delicate scented mist over the face which feels cool and refreshing whilst protecting the skin against external factors, and of course it also helps boost the appearance of make-up all day.

I have to say I’m really impressed with these products – they’re definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for some luxurious base products to help prime and keep your makeup staying put throughout the day.

The Georgio Armani Prima range is available now at Debenhams.

Giorgio Armani Si Fragrance Collection

Posted on November 11, 2015

Hi Guys!

You may remember about a month or so ago, I received the fabulous Kiehl’s Daily Recovery Concentrate as a ‘perk’ from Klout, well they’ve now offered me (and many other bloggers) an even bigger and better perk, the full set of Giorgio Armani Si Fragrances! How awesome is that!!

When the details said I’d be receiving one of each fragrance, I was expecting small size bottles, so I was really surprised when a beautiful Georgio Armani branded box arrived containing three full size 50ml bottles. I’d highly recommend you sign up to Klout if you haven’t already as I’ve had a couple more perks since this too.

I think the Sì Intense Eau de Parfum 50ml is my favourite of the three. As much as I love a fresh and bright fragrance, I always naturally steer towards a more intense and heavy evening fragrance, and that’s exactly what Si Intense is. Described as accomplished, audacious and glamorous, Sì Eau de Parfum Intense is sensual and elegant. This is clearly a fragrance for evening, an intimate date, a lover’s rendezvous.

It has top notes of Bergamote Essence, Cassis Neo Jungle, Mandarine Essence and Accord Freesia. Heart notes of Rose de Mai Superessence, Fleur d‘Oranger Absolue, Davana Essence and Osmanthus Absolue, and base notes of Fir Balsam Absolue, Benjoin Résinoïde, Patchouli Essence, Orcano, Vanille Abs. and Pure J.Essence.

Sì Eau de Parfum 50ml – this is fragrance is most definitely chic, modern and sultry, Si EDP is described as intense and soft at the same time. Sì is a chypre scent reinvented, lingering on the skin and captivating the senses.

It combines blackcurrant nectar, modern chypre and light musky wood, and opens with notes of Sicilian Bergamot, Mandarin oil and blackcurrant liqueur which is supported by a heart of Rose May, Neroli and Egyptian Jasmine. Warm undertones caress the unique chypre base notes of Patchouli oil intertwined with Blond Woods, amber and musky undertones known as OrcanoxTM. Finished with a sweet animalic accord of Vanilla which gives this fragrance, longevity and unforgettable sillage.

Sì Eau de Toilette 50ml – this is a lighter, more delicate version of the Si eau de parfum, the EDT offers a softer experience, with fruity top notes of Blackcurrant Sorbet, Mandating and Pear, heart notes of Rose De Mai Essence and Freesia, and base notes of Musk, Vanilla and Patchouli.

All three scents are gorgeous, and I’ld highly recommend you try them if you can!

I’d love to hear if you’ve tried any fragrances from the Si range?

Georgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation + £10 Discount

Posted on September 16, 2015

Hi Guys!

The Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation is not a new product by any means, I think it’s been around since early 2013 actually but I just never got round to picking one up. I haven’t tried any other beauty products by Giorgio Armani before either, so I was really excited when House of Fraser kindly sent this over to me to review…

Georgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation is described as a silky, lightweight foundation, that captures the glow of perfect looking skin. I tend to go for this type of base rather than a matte finish as my skin is a bit of a pain and tends be be dry in places, and no matter how much I try to improve my skin, there’s always a least a bit of dryness going somewhere on my face! Foundations with matte finishes will more often than not highlight dry areas, and apart from that they just seem to not sit so well on my skin.

So this foundation really does sound perfect for my skin type, it’s an oil-free hydrating fluid with Georgio Armani’s exclusive Micro-fil™ technology. Its also described as lightweight, with a silky texture that glides on seamlessly for an all-day, buildable coverage.

Well, I can tell you this is definitely a keeper! I’d describe the coverage as medium, which can be easily built up where required. The liquid itself is super light weight, and it reminds me a bit of the YSL Fusion Ink Foundation but this is not quite as watery feeling, and it really does give the most natural, seamless ‘no-makeup’ finish. There’s no cakeyness, no creasing and no dryness with this foundation at all. It also has a super lightweight feel on the skin that’s so comfortable you don’t actually feel like yore wearing foundation, which I just love.

I have shade 3.5 which is perfect to give a hint of glow to my pale complexion, also this foundation comes 21 shades in all, so there should be something to suit everyone. I’d highly recommend it to anyone with dry skin like me that’s looking for a natural, no-makeup finish.

This fantastic foundation is also part of House of Fraser’s latest Beauty Confidential offer which has recently started…
