Hi Guys!

This month’s Glossybox has a very apt Festival Edit theme, and it includes a mixture of products to help you look and feel your best in time for the summer’s festivals! This is what’s in the box –

  • Monu Spa Rosewood Reviving Mist. 50ml sample size worth £5.97
  • Kueshi Anti Cellulite Booster. 150ml worth £14.55
  • Halo Fragrance Free Facial Wipes. Pack of 10 worth £1.09
  • Essence Gel Nail Polish. Full size worth £1.71
  • Glossybox Flash Temporary Tattoos. Worth £6.50

Total value of box = £29.82

Ok so on first glance, this is probably not the most exciting box Glossybox has come up with, but it does contain a good varied range of products to try out. So first up I’ll start with the Essence Nail polish in 31 Electriiiiiic, I’m a big fan of blue nail shades so this definitely caught my eye. Essence is one of those brands I’ve been wanting to try but haven’t had a chance as they’re not stocked near me – I’m pretty sure their products are available in Wilko? Anyway, this polish is a gorgeous shade, and comes with a wide brush which is great to see, so application is easy, and it took me three coats to get full opacity. For under £2 this is a great little polish!

Jumping to a product at the other end of the spectrum that doesn’t really appeal to me – the Kueshi Anticellulite Booster is supposed to combat existing cellulite whilst preventing the formulation of new cellulite using flavenoids to inhibit the formation of fat cells, ruscogenin to facilitate blood flow, and naringin and rutin to reduce swelling. It has a light, pleasant fragrance, and the texture is similar to a light moisturiser. I personally don’t believe anti-cellulite creams work. I’ll give this a go though and will definitely report back if it does!

Next up is the Monu Spa Rosewood Reviving Mist, this has been created using a blend of zesty essential oils from Lemon and Rosewood to Sandalwood, Petitgrain, Geranium and Clary Sage, to leave skin feeling cool and refreshed whilst providing an irresistible fragrance to tantalise the senses. You can use this spray to instantly refresh tired skin as well as to set your makeup. I don’t often use facial sprays but this has a really nice fresh scent – I think I might also keep it in the fridge for extra refreshment!

The Halo Fragrance Free Facial Wipes come in a handy mini pack of ten, which is perfect for your handbag. They are obviously fragrance free, and also suitable for sensitive skin. I was impressed that they removed all my makeup with minimal rubbing – including eyeliner and mascara. These would definitely be a must have if you’re heading off to a festival this summer.

And lastly Glossybox’s own brand of flash temporary tattoos. I’ve actually been wanting to get my hands on some of these gold and silver tattoos, I’ve seen them in many an Instagram snap sported by bronzed Goddesses and I think they look great! There are eight strips of tattoos here which you can cut up and place on your body as required – one row of them being the Glossybox crown logo in gold, if you fancy wearing that on your body! These tatts are really easy to use, you just press on your skin, cover the back with water and peel the backing off. They’re not going to be everybody’s cup of tea but I think they’re pretty cool!

I’d love to hear if you’ve tried any of these products? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

GLOSSYBOX MAY | REVIEW

Posted on May 16, 2015

Hi Guys!

I hope you’re having a good weekend? I must admit I haven’t been having the best week so far. For some reason my anxiety has gone through the roof, and I unfortunately ended up in tears in a public place yesterday. It seems as though I’m fine until I have to do something outside of my comfort zone, then I fall apart. As soon as I was out of the situation though and got home I felt so much calmer, and as an added bonus the the latest Glossybox had also arrived. This was a welcome distraction so I got stuck in with trying out this months’ products…

So what’s inside the box?

  • MeMeMe Enchanted Eyes Dual Ended Eye Wand in Midnight Storm. Full size worth £6.95
  • Etre Belle Aloe Vera Ultra Moisturising Gel, 40ml full size worth £15.93
  • Zerreau Towel Off Shampoo Foam, 70ml sample size worth £3.09
  • Sass Intimate Perfect Skin Concentrate, sample size 30ml worth £3.60
  • Collection Cosmetics Lipstick in Field Day, full size worth £2.99

Total value of box = £32.56.

First up is the MeMeMe Enchanted Eyes Pencil. This is a double ended eye crayon and the shade Midnight Storm has one midnight blue shimmer end, and one bright turquoise shimmer end. As well as being two products in one, this crayon also doubles up as eye liner and eye shadow, so it’s a complete multi-tasker! The shades are both easily blendable over the lid for a wash of colour, and also work really well as eyeliners too. I love the turquoise shade, I’ll definitely get a lot of use out of this!

glossybox-products-review

Etra Belle is a brand I haven’t heard of before, they’re a German cosmetic company offering a selection of cosmetics and what seems to be a massive range of skincare. The Aloe Vera Ultra Moisturising Gel is a lightweight floral scented gel that’s formulated to cool and hydrate the skin. I think this would be perfect kept in the fridge and used for after sun.

The Sass Intimate Perfect Skin Concentrate is a bit of an interesting one. This is basically to prevent ingrown hairs when shaving your undercarriage 😀 It also acts as a post-shave soothing cream, and it reduces hair re-growth too. The exfoliating Salicyclic Acid and the Fruit Enzymes help prevent ingrown hairs, the Aloe Vera soothes and hydrates, and the Kelisoft helps to minimise hair regrowth.

Zerreau-Towel-Off-Shampoo-Foam

The Zerreau Towel Off Shampoo Foam definitely caught my eye as one of the most interesting sounding products in the box. I’m a big fan of dry shampoos for those days in-between washing my hair but I haven’t come across anything like this before. This product is described as ‘the next generation of dry shampoo’ – allowing you to wash your hair without water. The product itself is a light and fluffy foam, which you massage in at the roots, and you towel dry your hair after. No water required! It’s also supposed to remove products including hairspray and hair chalk. Luckily enough for this review, I was due to wash my hair as it was looking pretty greasy! I applied a few squirts of this and massaged it into my scalp. It left my hair feeling really wet, like I’d just washed it, and the product also had a lovely fresh citrus scent too. It did make my hair feel cleaner and fresher, and got rid of most of the grease but not quite all of it. Maybe I should have used more product? I think this would be a great product to take to festivals to use between showers.

collection-lipstick-in-field-day-review

And lastly the Collection Cosmetics Lipstick in Field Day. I have to say I haven’t used Collection products in years, so this was definitely a welcome addition to the box. Field Day is a beautiful vibrant peach shade with a semi matte finish. This is the sort of colour that’s perfect for summer, and it would look gorgeous with a tan too. The only thing I will say though – as with most matte shades, is you’ll need your lips to be in tip top condition to wear this lipstick as it does tend to emphasise any dry areas.

I’d love to hear if you’ve tried any of these products? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Limited Edition Harvey Nichols Glossybox

Posted on November 13, 2014

Hi Guys!

As far as beauty subscription boxes go, I’ve dabbled with a couple of popular ones in the past, and currently have one regular monthly American box (Wantable). To be honest I’ve not been amazed by the UK boxes on offer lately so I just didn’t sign up again. That said though, many beauty box companies offer special limited edition and one off boxes alongside their subscriptions – and this is where Glossybox comes in. They have teamed up with Harvey Nichols to bring you their very own limited edition box! It features some of the amazing brands found in the Harvey Nichols beauty hall – now this is definitely something to get excited about!

harvey-nichols-glossybox

Firstly, be impressed! I took this picture before ripping open the packaging – how very restrained of me! I love that they’ve even included Harvey Nichols ribbon and a gold sticker to finish off the packaging and to give the box a luxe feel. The Harvey Nichols box costs a very reasonable £30, which is more than the average £10 or so for the regular subscription beauty boxes, but the difference is this one has a massive £150 worth of products included from brands such as Laura Mercier, Rodial, NARS and Elemis! Amazing!

harvey-nichols-glossy-box-review

So here’s what’s in the box –

    1. Show Beauty Thermal Protect Spray 150ml (full size)
    2. Laura Mercier Foundation Primer 30ml
    3. Benefit Mini They’re Real Mascara 30ml
    4. Macadamia Oil 10ml
    5. Dermalogica Overnight Repair Serum 5ml
    6. NARS Mini Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien
    7. Harvey Nichols Mini Scented Candle in Party
    8. Rodial Bee Venom Moisturiser 5ml
    9. OPI Avoplex Moisture Replenishing Lotion
    10. Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream 15ml
    11. La Coupe Intensive Hair Repair Sachet 40ml

I’ve read a couple of other reviews and it appears for a few of the products you will receive one of a selection. I believe this includes Show Beauty (hair products), OPI nail products, and the Harvey Nichols candle comes in four fragrances – Sleeping, Bathing, Dining and Party.

harvey-nichols-glossy-box-limited-edition

I’m so happy with the complete selection, I already have and love the Laura Mercier primer, and NARS lip pencils are some of the best around so I’m super happy I have another one to add to my collection. I haven’t heard of Show Beauty before so I’m excited to try this heat protection spray out and see how it compares to my current fave. I also have to mention the Harvey Nichols candle, mine is the Party fragrance and I think I’m in love, it’s now one of my all time favourite candle scents.

If you’re a beauty box fan, this is definitely not to be missed. For £30 this amazing bundle really is a complete bargain! The Harvey Nichols limited edition Glossy Box will go on sale on 17th November, you can sign up here.

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx
