Interiors: Gucci Launches New Homeware Line – Gucci Décor

Posted on August 29, 2017

Hi Guys!

Though my wallet doesn’t allow it, I’m still a massive fan of high end fashion, especially accessories such as shoes and bags which I can’t get enough of when window shopping – if only I had the money my wardrobe would be full of so many wonderful brands! One of the designers that has caught my eye recently is Gucci, their latest collections are just so amazingly colourful, fun and eclectic, with endless amounts of contrasting prints and colours. The phrase ‘more is more’ definitely applies here.

So when I heard Gucci were unveiling their debut homeware line, Gucci Decor, I couldn’t wait to see what they’d come up with. Described as “an eclectic collection of items with which customers can dress their own spaces.” this collection is everything I’d imagined and more!

I was excited to find out that the designs are inspired by Gucci’s current fashion collections – there’s clashing colours, bold prints, and animal head motifs a-plenty. Gucci Decor’s initial launch includes a wide range of home accessories – there are practical and functional items such as chairs, tables and screens, as well as smaller home accessories including candles, cushions and trays.

As I’m sure you can imagine, these products won’t come cheap – starting from the bottom end of the scale, a candle will cost £150, up to an eye-watering £23,000 for a printed silk screen, gulp! In all seriousness though, I think these prices are pretty much to be expected, as with any high fashion house that offers home decor, you’re paying for the design, quality of materials and of course the name.

Gucci have also created four new scents for their candles and incense products –

  • Inventum – a delicate note of ancient damask rose, blended with voluptuous and distinctive Taif rose.
  • Fumus – the dark and intense scent of birch, mingled with orange leaves and beeswax.
  • Herbosum – the fresh, intense scents of tomato leaves and aromatic plants, mixed with the fragrance of long grass peppered with basil and lemongrass.
  • Esotericum – the bitter aroma of Seville oranges, intricately intertwined with notes of jasmine, leather and salt.

I’m really into scents with orange notes at the moment, so I’m loving the sound of Fumus and Esotericum especially. Hopefully I’ll get to give these a sniff when the range has launched in store.

So what do you think? Will you be treating yourself to anything from the Gucci Decor collection? At the moment I’ll just be lusting after the candles and cushions 🙂

The Gucci Decor collection will be available from September online and in selected stores.

Fashion Wish List: Fun at the Fair with Farfetch

Posted on June 27, 2017

Hi Guys!

Now I have to say, I don’t usually do competition posts any more, just because the chances of winning are so small, they never seem worth it. BUT, I was invited to take part in FarFetch’s latest competition, and with a £1000 prize up for grabs, I thought it was definitely worth a shot!

So, if you’re not aware of Farfetch, they’re a massive online store selling pretty much every designer fashion item you could want or need (plus they have some pretty awesome sales too). They’ve recently launched a new online magazine called The Style Guide, and in celebration of their beautiful editorial content, Farfetch have asked me to create a blog post inspired by one of their articles.

The article which particularly caught my attention was Brighton Fashion: Your Ultimate Guide. I went to Brighton a few years ago for my hen party, and I absolutely love the place. I really can’t rave about it enough. It’s such a wonderful city – dubbed the LGBTQ capital of the UK, Brighton is home to one of the largest Pride events in the country. It’s also full of quirky independent shops, vintage boutiques and of course the famous Brighton Pier. It’s definitely a place worth visiting if you haven’t already.

In terms of style, you’ll find a real eclectic mix in Brighton. There’s an underlying sense of fun and escapism – which I think is why I love it there so much. So with this in mind, I’ve put together a little wish list inspired by Brighton…

I’d love to hear what you think? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Gucci Premier EDT | Fragrance Review

Hi Guys!

I know at the moment there’s one particular perfume that everyone’s raving about, you know, the one with the flowers on the bottle? I won’t say what it’s called. But I’ve got another gorgeous perfume to show you that definitely should not be overlooked, this is Gucci Premiere.

“Gucci Première celebrates the star in every woman. Whether she is holding court at a film opening or business meeting, all her moments are golden. She turns as many heads in an impeccably tailored suit as a couture gown. Grace sits with attitude, beauty with power. She enjoys her achievements and wears her authority with ease. Wherever she finds herself, she is met with admiratione. She is a modern icon.”

So yeah, this is pretty much made for me then! 😉 If you’re interested to hear about the notes, I must tell you I found this info online! I’m still learning my voice when it comes to note descriptions, so I lii leave you with the experts on this one!…

TOP: Bergamot, orange blossom; The fragrance opens with the luxury and exuberance of a vintage champagne. A burst of effervescent bergamot fused with feminine and celebratory orange blossom conveys the heady excitement of the red carpet entrance.

HEART: White flowers, musk; At the scent’s core nestle the brilliant white flowers of an intense bouquet, laced with a magnetically sensual modern musk. The timeless allure of the leading lady, the perfect balance of sensuality and power, inspires a collective captured breath.

BASE: Leather, wood; The fragrance’s warm and indulgent foundation rests in a beguiling cocktail of subtly smoky leather and creamy balsamic woods that epitomises absolute glamour.

Gucci Premier is the perfect evening fragrance, it’s a lovely white floral scent that lasts for hours, I’d love to hear if you’ve tried it?
