Beauty: New Makeup Worth Checking Out – Feat. New CID Cosmetics, Chantecaille, Lancome & More

Posted on February 6, 2017

Hi Guys!

Happy Monday! I’ve gathered a few products together today that I really think are worth checking out. There are a couple of brands such as New CID Cosmetics and Suqqu that I’ve included specifically today as you don’t really hear much about them, but the do make some fantastic products – enjoy!

Ok so starting with New CID Cosmetics, the New CID Cosmetics i-Gloss Light Up Lip Gloss (£19.50 at Feelunique) is such a fun product – I mean who could resist a lip gloss with an automatic light in the lid, and a mirror on the side? And this shade, Moonstone is such a beautiful pearlescent pink – it’s great as a gloss on its own, or also as a lip topper worn over a liquid lipstick.

The Limited Edition i-groom Eyebrow Grooming Pencil and Brush (£19.50 at Feelunique) is another great product, this is a sleek looking, simple yet effective wind up brow pencil, with a spoolie brush at the opposite end. It creates a fine, sharp line that’s perfect for drawing on natural looking brows, without looking too heavy.

And the i-Prime Mini (£16.00 at Feelunique) – this is a mini 10ml primer, perfect for keeping in your on-the-go makeup bag. The formula is a lightweight serum including Shea Butter and Vitamin E to help blur imperfections, leaving skin looking radiant and beautiful.

Next I have a few products from Rodial – firstly their new Baking Powder (£29.00 at Rodial) – this is is perfect for those that like to do a full on makeup routine and ‘bake’ their face to set their base. This is a silky smooth loose powder that mattifies skin to give it a creamy, suede soft-focus finish whilst blurring imperfections. Simply apply this loose setting powder over your concealer or foundation, leave to warm on skin for 10-15 minutes and dust off the excess – easy.

And Rodial have also introduced their new Baking Brush (£40.00 at Rodial) to go with the above powder. This brush has been specifically designed with soft, dense hairs to allow for easy application of loose powder. It’s also the ideal tool for buffing and dusting off excess powder so you can achieve a flawless matte finish to your complexion.

Rodial also have a new Instaglam Compact Deluxe Highlighting Powder in 02 (£52.00 at Rodial) – this is a beautiful creamy textured highlighting powder, in a light champagne shade. It contains soft powders and refined pearls which are blended together to create a beautiful creamy powder with an iridescent finish.

Continuing with highlighters, I also wanted to include the Estee Edit Flash Illuminator Fluid Powder (£22.00 at Selfridges) – this is very similar to the Rodial highlighter above but this one is slightly more gold / peach toned. It would be great for light to medium skin tones and has a lovely smooth almost creamy texture that’s really flattering when applied to the top of the cheekbones especially.

And for a more budget friendly highlighter option, the Revlon PhotoReady Insta-Fix Highlighting Stick in Starlight (£9.99 at Boots) is definitely worth checking out. If you’re looking for a slightly deeper, more golden highlight, this stick formula has a wonderfully smooth consistency, and leaves the skin glowing with a golden sheen.

I also have a couple of the (fairly) new Lancome Cushion Blushers (£29.00 at Lancome) – these cushion blushers are perfect for giving the complexion a fresh, dewy glow. You only need a tiny amount to give a pretty flush to the skin, and the formula also offers intense hydration, and the cushion sponge allows you to easily build the intensity of the colour to suit your preference.

If you’re looking for a new eyeshadow palette, the Smith & Cult Book of Eyes Eyeshadow Palette (£34.00 at Beauty Bay) is one to add to your to-try list. There are four different quads available and I have Interlewd which contains some really pretty soft pinks and rich purple shades.

Or for single eyeshadows, the Chantecaille Mermaid Eyeshadow in Hematite (£29.00 at Space NK) is simply stunning. This is a crease-proof and water resistant product that can be worn either wet or dry and used an eye shadow or as an eyeliner. The formula is also infused with an anti-aging silk tree extract that helps lift the upper eyelid for a more youthful looking eye area.

And the Suqqu Extra Glow Lipstick (£23.00 at Selfridges) – Japanese cult brand Suqqu is another that you don’t see much of, but definitely worth a mention. Their Extra Glow Lipstick contains a blend of seven nourishing oils for long-lasting moisture, and creates the appearance of plumper lips with a natural sheen.

And going back to eyes, the Smith & Cult B-Line Eye Pen (£21.00 at Beauty Bay) is a richly pigmented, felt pen liner that’s both smudge-proof and waterproof. This innovative precision, felt tipped liner applies seamlessly along the lash-line giving highly pigmented colour with a quick drying finish. If you’re looking for a new pen style eyeliner I’d definitely recommend you check this one out.

For those looking to cover their dark circles, the Know Cosmetics No Dark Shadows Concealer in Wow (£15.00 at Superdrug) is just the product for the job. This is a multipurpose under eye concealer designed to conceal imperfections and dark circles, as well as highlight the complexion. This is available in two shades – Wow (rosy tone) and Pizazz (yellow tone) and offers medium coverage which is both long lasting and moisturising.

And back to Suqqu, their Gel Eyeliner (£20.00 at Selfridges) is a super thin 2mm precision tipped pencil eyeliner with a texture that seems to melt onto the skin, creating a wonderfully smooth and delicate line. This is perfect for those looking for a subtle and fine lined eyeliner.

You’ll probably notice I haven’t included many lip products today – when I was getting everything together I realised there are LOADS of amazing lip products that have recently launched, so I’ll be publishing a separate post just on them very soon.

I’d love to hear what you think? Have you tried any of these products yourself? I decided not to include swatches as I took some and they just weren’t doing the products justice. If you’d like to see swatches of anything though please do let me know and I’ll be happy to share on Insta Stories 🙂

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Beauty News & Gossip 11/01/17: Jeffree Star, Huda Beauty, Too Faced & More!

Posted on January 11, 2017

Hi Guys!

It’s been quite a while since I published my last Beauty News & Gossip post, but you guys have told me that you like them, so I thought I’d start up the series again. I’m aiming to post on a weekly basis covering all the latest hot beauty news, influencer gossip and exciting new releases – enjoy!

Ok so I woke up this morning and the first thing I saw on my social feeds is that Jeffree Star has destroyed a $5.5k Chanel bag on his Youtube channel. Him and his BFF Manny MUA got together to cut up some makeup products with hot knives (as you do) just for LOLs, and Jeffree decided to take it one step further and mutilate a Chanel Boy bag from his collection. By the looks of things this has been one of his most viewed videos in such a short space of time since publishing, and comments have been falling in one of two very distinct camps – Jeffree fans are saying (very rightly so) that ‘it’s his money he can do what he likes with it’ but people are also saying (again very rightly so) comments along the lines of ‘people are starving in this world, and he chooses to do this..’. I totally agree that he can do what he likes with his own things, but he might as well be burning a $5k wad of cash for the sake of gaining views, which in my opinion is in very poor taste – but then would we expect anything else from Jeffree Star?? I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on this.

In other Jeffree Star news, he’s also recently announced that his much anticipated Androgyny Palette will be launching in March. The teasers above shows his second palette has a deep pink textured casing with gold lettering, and the eyeshadows look like they’re going to be a big hit with fans – there appears to be a range of intensely coloured warm matte shades included (judging by the colours Jeffree is wearing above) and I think it will be a total sell out.

You may have also noticed recently that Manny MUA is collaborating with Maybelline on their Big Shot Mascara campaign. I noticed this on Twitter when the ad first launched and didn’t really give it too much thought. Then it popped up again on Facebook via a BBC news article, I noticed there were thousands and thousands of comments, so thought I’d take a moment to look through. Oh my gosh, the public has had such a strong reaction to this, I really was quite shocked. It was very divided, with a disturbing amount of people being absolutely horrified that a man is wearing makeup (I mean, really?), but luckily there were plenty of positive comments too which appeared to outnumber the negative. It really does worry me how people can be so close minded – we’re in 2017 for Christ’s sake! I think it’s a great collab, and Manny is the perfect influencer to team up with Maybelline – maybe this just seems obvious to me though because I’m part of the beauty community? I don’t know, I think attitudes are changing, but we still have definitely a long way to go. I also think it’s a very clever marketing move on Maybelline’s part – what better way to get your beauty brand talked about across every media channel than to do something ‘controversial’ like having a male in full makeup as the star of the campaign – what do you think?

What would a news and gossip post be without Jaclyn Hill!? It looks like Jaclyn is coming out with another new collaboration within the next two months. She’s not giving away much at the moment but we know it’s an eyeshadow palette, and it’s in collaboration with a brand – maybe Becca again? Or maybe someone new?

I never managed to get my hands on the Huda Beauty Rose Gold Eyeshadow palette – though it looks stunning I just couldn’t justify the expense. She’s now teasing fans with the outer packaging of her upcoming Highlighter Palette – I can’t wait to see what’s inside, I bet it’s going to be stunning!

And lastly when it comes to influencers, it looks like Too Faced’s lasted collab will be with Youtuber Kandee Johnson. As a big Too faced fan I can’t wait to see what they’ll come up with together 😀

On to new products now, and you may have noticed that Too Faced is busting out new products like there’s no tomorrow right now, and I’ve just caught wind of yet another gorgeous looking launch – their beautiful Lovelight Highlighters will be coming in March this year – don’t they look gorgeous!

Anastasia has also just launched their first Lip Palette, which is perfect for those that like to experiment with lip shades and change their look frequently. This palette contains a large selection of lipsticks as well as primary colours and black and white shades, so you can pretty much come up with any colour imaginable! This is available now on the Anastasia US site but not yet on the Anastasia UK site.

After visiting New York last year on a press trip, and spending rather a lot of time in Sephora, I discovered Milk Makeup. I have their Cooling Water and Holographic Stick, both of which I love. And I recently heard about their brand new Blur Stick – it’s just now launched at Sephora, and it promised to blur skin’s imperfections to give you a ‘real life filter effect’. I really love the sound of this.

The brand that only a few months ago brought us the original Unicorn Makeup brushes (I have them but can’t bring myself to use them!) has recently announced an upcoming collection of Mermaid makeup brushes! Above you can see the original artist sketches for the brushes, it also says they’re now going into production, so watch this space for news of the launch date.

And oh my gosh, the Lancome Rose Collection is EVERYTHING. The highlighter is shaped like an actual rose and it’s just so beautiful! There’s also a limited edition brush to go with it, as well as a palette and a few other products in the collection. These are all available now on the Lancome US site. I can’t wait till it’s available in the UK!

And lastly, I also wanted to mention that that Kat Von D Pastel Goth Palette is available now at Sephora – as with all of Kat’s products this palette looks pretty awesome, it’s going on my wish list right now 🙂

I’d love to hear what you think about the latest news and gossip? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

My NYC Sephora Haul! Feat. Kat Von D, Milk Makeup, Tatcha, Becca & More!

Posted on September 19, 2016

sephora-haul-new-york

Hi Guys!

Any beauty lover will know that one of your priorities when visiting the US is of course, Sephora. Visiting New York was my first ever visit to the US, so I had my first ever Sephora store experience too!

For those yet to experience this pleasure, I have to tell you it’s actually quite overwhelming – especially for a small town gal like me who gets excited visiting Selfridges! Sephora is literally floor to ceiling beauty – so I decided to tackle it with a strategy – basically if the brand was available in the UK, I didn’t bother looking. So I headed for all the exciting US brands that I’ve been dying to get my hands on – Kat Von D, MILK Makeup, Anastasia and Sephora’s own brand to name but a few. Let’s take a look at what I picked up…

kat-von-d-products-sephora

So first of all I headed for Kat Von D (and yes I know we have it in the UK now, but it wasn’t available here when I was in NYC!) I really liked the look of the new Lock-it Concealer Creme – a super-versatile, rich and creamy concealer with 24-hour wear and instant full coverage. It promised to brighten the undereye area, cover blemishes and correct discolouration which was exactly what I was looking for. I got Hayley to help shade match me and ended up with shade Light 3 Warm. I started using this while in NYC and I have to say I was very impressed, it did a great job of covering my under eye circles as well as staying put throughout the day. I picked up the Lock-It Edge Concealer Brush too – described as ‘a high-performance concealer brush with an exclusive sculpted shape to seamlessly blend under eye concealer and instantly cover blemishes‘ I thought this would be the perfect match for the Lock-It Concealer. It’s just the right size and shape for concealer coverage on the under eye area, and applies product like a dream.

While I was at it I thought I’d also grab the Kat Von D Lockit Setting Powder too – you know, when in Rome! This is a weightless translucent loose powder, formulated with Micro-Blurring Technology to blur pores and set and perfect makeup for a flawless, locked-in finish. This is probably the most lightweight and silky finishing powder I’ve ever tried – it leaves your complexion velvety matte and smooth – and you can also use it for baking if that’s part of your routine too.

milk-makeup-holographic-highlighter

I’d also been dying to try some bits from MILK Makeup – they had quite a big range on offer, and I decided to pick up a couple of quirky sounding products…

Firstly I grabbed the Milk Makeup Cooling Water – this is basically a twist up stick that you apply to the face to cool, soothe and hydrate the skin. I tried it on the back of my hand and the cooling effect really worked! The product contains rich marine minerals and caffeine to hydrate, whilst give skin an energized, glowing look.

And the Milk Makeup Holographic Stick – well, I’d heard of this and thought it sounded fantastic, so I popped it in my basket too. Technically this doesn’t give a holographic highlight, but it does give skin an iridescent lavender sheen, which is really fun and pretty. Also, you can use it wherever you like – lips, eyes, cheeks – I’m looking forward to creating some fun looks with this!

I then checked out Sephora’s massive own brand range, and they literally stock everything! I loved the look of their retractable Hide & Sleek brushes, which come in high shine metallic casings with lids so they don’t get ruined in your makeup bag. I grabbed the Skinny Cheek Contour Brush – a retractable cheek contour brush in a slim and elegant rose gold case, and the Skinny Foundation Retractable Brush – a chic retractable foundation brush this time in gold casing.

tatcha-polished-classic-rice-enzyme-powderr

I’m also really glad I came across the Tatcha Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder – I’d been wanting to snap this up for a while, but the full size tub is $60.00 – eek! I found this mini 10g tub which was only $15.00 and very much in my price range. If you haven’t heard of Tatcha, they offer luxury skincare inspired by Japanese Geishas – you should definitely check them out if skincare’s your thing. Their Classic Rice Enzyme Powder is a creamy, water-activated enzyme powder that effortlessly releases debris from skin, leaving it feeling polished and baby soft in an instant. It’s formulated with nourishing Japanese rice bran blended with papaya extracts, to help reduce the look of fine lines and addresses uneven skintone, hyperpigmentation, and breakouts. I’m looking forward to giving this a go!

becca-mini-products-set

And while I was checking out all the amazing mini products and sets that Sephora has to offer, I came across the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Opal Glow On The Go Set – this is a mini duo of BECCA’s Shimmering Skin Perfector luminizers. I love Becca’s highlighters and these mini pressed and liquid Shimmering Skin Perfectors in Opal just looked so cute – as well as being the perfect size to throw in my bag.

sephora-favourites-give-me-some-lip-set

And lastly, I couldn’t resist the Sephora Favourites Give Me Some Lip Set – this is a six-piece, multibranded lip sampler set, including two full size products, and it was only $28.00 with a  total product value of $97.00! –

  • Fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment (sheer rosy tint)
  • Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Lovecraft (mauve pink nude)
  • Lancôme Juicy Shaker in 313 Boom-Meringue (lemon meringue flavor – full size)
  • NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien (rose pink)
  • Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in Stepping Out (deep nude – full size)
  • Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Chihuahua (dusty mauve)

By this point I’d tried mentally adding up how much I was spending and decided I’d better calm down a bit. I quickly glanced at Anastasia, Surratt and in the general direction of skincare and fragrance and decided I’d better head to the checkout before I got too carried away.

sephora-haul

So yes I ended up spending quite a lot of money… but I don’t regret it. It’s not every day I get to pop into an actual Sephora store, so I’m glad I made the most of it while I had the chance!

Do let me know if you’d like to see any swatches, or full reviews of anything – this post ended up being quite long so I decided not to include swatches this time 🙂

New In Beauty: Products Worth Checking Out!

Posted on September 13, 2016

new-in-beauty-products-worth-checking-out

Hi Guys!

There have been so many fantastic beauty launches recently, I thought I’d put a post together to show you some of my favourites that are definitely worth checking out. There’s a mixture of high end as well as affordable products here, so hopefully there will be something for everyone. Get your wish lists at the ready!

loccitane-candle

Ok so let’s start with the L’Occitane La Flamme Candle (£8.00 at L’Occitane) – this just ticks all the boxes for me. You may know by now that I have a slight candle obsession, and this one smells lovely, with a delicate citrus scent, it’s also very affordable and on top of that 100% of the profits go to charity.

The limited edition La Flamme Candle has been developed in an exclusive partnership with Marie Claire in order to raise funds for the education of girls and young women in developing countries. 100% of the profits will be donated to selected charities supporting girls’ schools and education projects in Cambodia, Uganda, Sierre Leone and Burkina Faso – this is a must have!

clarins-lancome-pur

Next, a couple of new products from one of my favourite beauty brands, Clarins. I love Clarins lips products and their Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors (18.00) and Daily Energiser Lip Balm (£18.00, both at John Lewis) are just gorgeous every-day products.

The Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors now come in three new shades – Pink Shimmer, Orange Shimmer and Red Shimmer – giving lips an instant plump, glossy shine which nourishes and prevents dehydration. And the Daily Energiser Lip Balm offers 8 hours of hydration whilst smoothing and plumping – it also subtly enhances the colour of your lips.

Another favourite brand of mine, Lancome have recently launched their Grandiose Liner (£23.00) and Extreme Mascara (£25.00) both at House of Fraser.

The Grandiôse Liner is a truly innovative product offering a bendable wand which you can angle pretty much however you like, to help you get right into the base of the lashes and create the perfect line. It also has an ultra fine tip for creating a super sharp cat-eye, and the product formula has a long-lasting, smudge-resistant matte finish. The Grandiôse Extrême Mascara also features a ‘Swan-Neck’ wand and high-precision brush which grabs lashes close to the roots to beautifully fan them out on application. Grandiose Extreme gives extreme volume and an ultra intense longwear look for up to 24 hours.

And the Pur Cosmetics HydraFluid Water Serum Foundation (£28.00 at Beauty Bay) – I actually have a fantastic powder compact from Pur which I’ve been using for a long time, so I was excited to try out their latest foundation offering. The Hydra Fluid Water Serum Foundation utilises a unique Water Complex which combines water sourced from the Swiss Alps to penetrate the deepest layers of the skin with intense hydration. The formula is thin and watery, feeling lightweight on the skin and giving light to medium coverage. Those with dry or dehydrated skin who are looking for a lightweight base should definitely check this out.

sleek

Colour correcting products are everywhere at the moment, and this Sleek Colour Corrector Palette (£7.99 at Boots) is a fantastic budget option. It contains six easy-to-blend colour correctors to minimise skin imperfections and counteract discolouration, leaving you with an even base for flawless foundation application.

And if you’re looking for some new lip balms on the cheap, this I Heart Makeup I Heart My Lips Set (£10.00 at Tam Beauty) could be right up your street. The set includes five pill shaped balms in an assortment of flavours for only £10.00 – so there’s one for your bag, your desk, your car… you get the idea!

chantecaille-espa

On the subject of lip balms, the ESPA Nourishing Lip Treatment (£19.00 at John Lewis) is definitely worth picking up if you’re looking for something a little more intensive. This nourishing Lip Treatment is packed with active ingredients to instantly smooth and soften the lips, whilst adding a hint of gloss. My dry lips have been loving this lately!

While we’re talking about lips, if you’re looking to treat yourself, personally I think you can’t beat a lipstick. And if you’re feeling pretty flush, a Chantecaille Lipstick (£30.00 at Space NK) is definitely worth the money – this lipstick is smooth and comfortable, and the formula is enriched with vitamins A and C and emollient amino acids for a super luxurious feel on the lips.

loreal-french-girl-body-shop-tea-tree

On to hair now – L’Oreal Professional have a couple of new styling products, in the form of French Froisse Texture Definition Cream, and Messy Cliche Texture Definition Spray (£11.95 each at HQ Hair). So basically the cream is for thick hair, and the spray is for fine hair, and they both pretty much do the same thing, giving you tousled, textured lengths with natural shine.

And not forgetting The Body Shop Tea Tree 3-in-1 wash scrub mask (£8.00 at The Body Shop) – this is a multi-use 3-in-1 product which can be used as a wash to remove excess oil, a scrub to exfoliate and unclog pores, or a mask to combat blemishes and tighten pores. I love multi-tasking products and I know this will definitely get a lot of use in my household.

soap-and-glory

Soap and Glory are alway coming up with gorgeous new products, and their latest The Righteous Butter Diamond Edition (£8.00 at Soap & Glory) is a must have for S&G fans! This is basically a re-vamped edition of their famous Righteous Butter, with added pearlescent shimmer, mica powders and real diamond dust!

erborian-w7-kiehls-new

Next we have the Erborian Liquid BB Creme Au Ginseng ($48.00 at Sephora) – I love a cushion foundation and Erborian’s Liquid BB Cream is a fantastic compact. It contains Ginseng, known in Korea for its smoothing properties and gives lightweight, sheer coverage to help even out skin tone, leaving the complexion feeling fresh and moisturised.

I also love the new W7 Shade & Swap (£4.95 at W7) – this handy little pot instantly cleans your makeup brushes so you can swap between colours quickly and easily. Just sweep your brush over the sponge a couple of times and Bob’s your uncle!

Kiehls is another favourite skincare brand of mine, and their MTV Staying Alive Ultra Facial Cream (£43.50 at John Lewis) is definitely worth picking up if you’re in need of a new moisturiser. This Limited edition Ultra Facial Cream continuously replenishes moisture throughout the day, leaving skin feeling smooth, soft and hydrated. And for each pot sold, Kiehl’s will give £10.00 to the MTV Staying Alive Foundation to support 3 projects around the world to empower young women.

Well there we have it, I hope you found this post useful – please do let me know if you have any of these products, I’d love to hear your thoughts! xxx

Cohorted August 2016 Beauty Box Review

Posted on August 15, 2016

Cohorted-August-2016-Beauty-Box-Review

Hi Guys!

Cohorted’s August beauty box has just arrived, so let’s take a look inside…

  • NARS Andy Warhol Flowers III Palette, worth £45.00
  • Smith & Cult Nail Polish in xx, worth £19.00
  • Nunzio Saviano Anti-Frizz Sheets, worth £14.00
  • Cohorted Ovali Brush, worth £18.99
  • Lancome Precious Cells Eye Cream, 2x 3ml tubes, worth £24.00

Total value of box = £120.99.

Ok so overall this looks like a great box – let’s start with the NARS Andy Warhol Flowers III Palette. Now I’m going to be completely honest and admit I feel a bit on the fence about this one. On the face of it this is an excellent product, it’s a limited edition Andy Warhol palette, and though unboxed, it’s a really nice eyeshadow palette of high value. My only niggle is that this product was launched in 2012 – making it four years old. Now some people might not have a problem with this (and personally I don’t in this case, but of course this depends on the product as well as personal preference) but I think this is definitely a point worth mentioning. You can see what the inside of the palette looks like here.

Next the Smith & Cult Nail Polish – now this really is a gorgeous product! I have a few Smith & Cult polishes (check them out here) and they really are fab polishes, as well as being presented in stunning packaging. This shade is Regret The Moon, it’s a lovely warm white, with the slightest tint of pink to it. In contrast to the above NARS product, this is actually a brand new shade which is great news! 🙂

Next we have Nunzio Saviano – a brand that I haven’t heard of, but their Anti-Frizz Sheets do sound rather appealing, especially with the hot weather we’ve been having lately. The box contains 15 individually wrapped sheets which promise to instantly smooth hair and eliminate frizz, while controlling static ad taming flyways. I think I’ll be taking a few of these to New York with me next week!

Next the Cohorted Ovali Brush. I’ve already done a comparison post on an original Artis brand oval style brush, compared to an Ebay dupe – and in my opinion you definitely don’t need to spend a fortune on ‘oval’ brushes. Cohorted’s own branded oval brushes come with a really nice rose gold and matte black finish, with the Cohorted logo printed on the handle. These are available to order now from Cohorted as either single brushes or sets.

And lastly, the Lancome Precious Cells Eye Cream – I couldn’t actually believe it when I worked out that the two tiny 3ml samples included in the box are actually worth £12.00 each! If you look the product up online you’ll see a 20ml tub is £80.00, so this is a great opportunity to try a product that many of us wouldn’t usually have the opportunity to due to the high price. This product promises to firm, nourish and reduce wrinkles. I’ll be interested to see if it makes any difference to my rather large eye bags!

Cohorted-August-2016-Review

Overall I think this is a great box, and definitely well worth the £35.00 price tag. I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Sponsored Video: Lancome Juicy Shakers #Bantheboring

Posted on March 29, 2016

lancome-juicy-shakers-review-video

Hi Guys!

You’ve probably noticed by now that Lancome’s brand new Juicy Shakers are pretty much everywhere at the moment – and for very good reason too. This is a lip gloss, an oil and a fantastic lip moisturiser, all in one in a cocktail shaker shaped tube – I mean how awesome does that sound!?

The Juicy Shaker combines the colour of a gloss, with the moisturising and conditioning properties of a lip oil, giving a sheer pop of colour that feels amazingly silky on the lips…

lancome-juicy-shakers

The idea of the Juicy Shaker came from Lancome’s original and iconic Juicy Tubes from the early 2000’s. Lancome wanted to bring their popular ‘juiciness’ back to the modern day by utilising new technology, to offer a product that has never been seen before. The Juicy shaker combines this with the look of the ‘Shaker’, one of the fabulous lipsticks imagined by the brand’s founder, Armand Petitjean, in the 1940’s.

So back to the formula, the juicy shaker formula consists of two phases – phase 1 is all about the oils! Lancome have included four precious oils which provide a whole host of complementary properties, to instantly give the lips a smooth and plumped-up look:

  • Peach kernel oil – softening and nourishing.
  • Sweet almond oil – to leave lips supple and re-structured.
  • Cranberry oil – anti-oxidant, protective and restorative of skin’s protective barrier.
  • Musk rose oil – regenerating and soothing.

Phase 2 is all about pigments – the Juicy Shakers combine the comfort of the oils in phase 1, with the colour impact of perfectly dosed pigments in a multitude of vibrant shades with an adjustable finish. You can layer this product up as much as you like for higher colour intensity.

The applicator is also worth a mention – the Juicy Shakers feature Lancôme’s first ever cushion applicator for lips – the chunky applicator is velvety soft and sponge-like to absorb just the right amount of formula for perfect application.

I have three out of the 14 available Juicy Shakers and I’ve pretty much been using them every day since I received them. From left to right I have –

  • Wonder Melon 352 – A bright orange-pink shade with a juicy watermelon fragrance.
  • Meli Melon 301 – This is a mid pink colour with a juicy watermelon fragrance.
  • Vanilla Pop 252 – A mid mauve shade with a light vanilla scent.

I love how silky and smooth they feel on the lips, whilst giving a flush of colour – and because the colour is sheer, there’s no worrying about lipstick bleeding or transferring onto teeth, which is always in the back of my mind when wearing more opaque lip products. With Juicy Shakers you’re just left with gorgeous soft and supple lips that feel smooth and hydrated, with no stickiness – oh and they smell amazing too. I highly recommend these!
