Beauty: Too Faced X Kat Von D Better Together Collection #TooFacedxKatVonD

Posted on March 16, 2017

Hi Guys!

As soon as I heard there was a Too Faced X Kat Von D collaboration on the cards many moons ago, I literally couldn’t wait to see what Jerrod and Kat would come up with together. The Better Together collection isn’t that new as I’m writing this, but is still a recent launch at Too Faced (they’re just coming out with so many new products right now!) and it contains a fab selection of products from both brands…

This impossible collaboration began with an authentic friendship between the two founders, Kat and Jerrod – who love, respect and celebrate one another, realizing they are more alike than they are different. They have created a collection that proves nobody has to fail in order for you to succeed. Dozens of secret meetings and social media leaks later, the wait is finally over.

The Ultimate Eye Collection (£57.00) is definitely the stand out set from this collection. The box contains a heard shaped eyeshadow palette which actually splits in two to create two separate mini palettes. One half has been created by Kat Von D, and half by Too Faced – and it’s worth mentioning that each half uses each individual brands signature eyeshadow formula too.

I have to say I love that the palette breaks in half (you can re-attach it easily as it’s magnetised) and I just think it’s such a fun and interesting concept – as well as being practical if you only want to use one half of the palette at a time.

Too Faced’s side includes six heart shaped pans in some very pretty, easy to wear shades. I’m not head over heels excited about this shade selection to be honest, but I do think they’re nice, and definitely wearable  –

  • BFF – a matte cream.
  • Friendspiration – a warm bronze gold shimmer.
  • Power couple – a deep bronze with gold glitter.
  • Lovely – a baby pink matte.
  • Heart of Gold – a light gold shimmer which almost has a hint of green.
  • Better Together – a muted plum glitter.

And Kat’s side includes six bold and intense shades, which are definitely representative of the Kat Von D brand. Personally, I prefer these overall compared to the Too Faced half. I think the shade choice is really unusual and interesting. The shades are –

  • Yours – a matte grey.
  • Devotion – a matte black.
  • Darling – a mid silver shimmer.
  • Swoon – an intense metallic red.
  • Por Vida – a bright white matte.
  • Lovestruck – a nude peach shimmer.

The Ultimate Eye Collection also contains a full sized Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, and a full sized Kat Von D Tattoo Liner.

The Cheek & Lip Makeup Bag Set (£33.00) contains the cutest two-sided collectible mini makeup bag, with one side dedicated to each brand. Kat’s side has a black base and features her cat, Piaf, and Too Faced’s side is a sparkly pink featuring Jerrod’s dog, Clover. This sweet little makeup pouch also holds a selection of mini favourites from both brands, including some new and exclusive shades.

Too Faced have included a deluxe mini Candlelight Glow Highlighter in Rosy Glow, which is perfect for creating a soft-focus highlight and glow, as well as a deluxe mini Love Flush Blush featuring a long-wear, high pigment formula in the new and exclusive in-your-face pink shade So Happy Together.

Kat has chosen a couple of lip products from her brand, including a deluxe mini Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick in the new shade XO, which is a deep intense burgundy red, and a deluxe mini Studded Kiss Lipstick offering bold pigment and long wear in the new shade Muse, which is a mid nude with a hint of shimmer.

And lastly, for those on a budget that would still like to snap up something from the collection, the Mascara and Liner Duo (£18.00) is the most affordable option, and contains two deluxe mini-sized, best-selling eye products from both brands –

Too Faced’s Better Than Sex Mascara is definitely a must have if you don’t own it already. This mascara promises 1,944% more volume, which is insane! And since trying out these products, I’m a new covert to Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner, which has an ultra-precise brush tip and gives 24-hour waterproof wear.

The Too faced X Kat Von D collection is available now from both Too Faced and Debenhams.

Were you as excited about this collaboration as I was? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Beauty: Stila Glitter Underground Collection

Posted on February 14, 2017

Hi Guys!

When it comes to glitter makeup, you must admit that historically it hasn’t really been known for its quality. From the spray on hair and body glitter of the 90’s (I’ve been there and I have no regrets) to glitter nail polish and sparkly lip glosses, it all has a child-like quality that’s cute and fun, but not necessarily known for being the highest standard of cosmetics.

This is where Stila comes in with their new Glitter Underground collection for SS17, which is inspired by the fabulous glitzy glamour of the ’70’s disco era. This collection is full of rich warm tones, with high quality metallic and glitter infused finishes. These products are all about grown up glamour, in warm shades of golds, coppers, browns and purples.

Starting with the Matte N Metal Eye Shadow Palette (£39.00) – this is a twelve colour eye palette with a mixture of matte and metallic shadows. Very similar to Stila’s popular Eyes Are The Windows Palette in Soul, this palette isn’t what I’d call groundbreaking in terms of the shade selection, but though I say this the shades are very lovely, as well as being highly pigmented and easy enough to wear in terms of colour on a daily basis. If you’re in need of a new go-to palette this one is definitely worth checking out. The shades are as follows –

  • Vintage – A matte, neutral pink.
  • Velvet – Matte pale pink.
  • Feathered – Matte pale sand.
  • Fringe – Matte light taupe shade.
  • Suede – Matte mauve pink.
  • Velour – Matte warm tan.
  • Bohemian – A metallic pewter.
  • Retro – Rose gold metallic.
  • Sequin – Metallic gold.
  • Smolder – Smoky metallic gunmetal.
  • Sizzle – Metallic rosy copper.
  • Flare – Cool bronze metallic.

The Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow (£23.00) is definitely my favourite product from the collection. This is a high-shine metallic, liquid formula eyeshadow that’s infused with SO much glitter. The formula is super light and applies effortlessly to the lids, leaving a stunning shimmery finish that catches the light beautifully. It’s worth noting that this product also gives pretty much zero fallout – which is always an issue when working with glitters. This is available is eight beautiful shades –

  • Rose Gold Retro – A shimmering rose gold and silver.
  • Kitten Karma – A copper toned champagne with flecks of silver.
  • Smouldering Satin – Deep tan with silver.
  • Diamond Dust – Sheer silver & multicolour.
  • Gold Goddess – Antique gold & silver.
  • Smoky Storm – Pewter & silver.
  • Molten Midnight – Black, silver & gold.
  • Bronzed Bell – Deep bronze with silver.

Stila have also introduced five new shades of their Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick (£16.00) into this collection. In case you’re not familiar with these, the Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick is a fantastic long lasting matte liquid lipstick that’s designed to last for up to six hours of wear.

I have shade Perla from the new collection, and I’m absolutely in love with it! Perla is described as a soft rosy nude, and it’s just the prettiest muted nude pink shade that’s really easy to wear for fair to medium skin tones. The formula offers amazing pigmentation whilst feeling lightweight and comfortable – and this is the type of liquid lipstick that won’t budge once it’s on. The new shades available are –

  • Angelo – A soft peachy nude.
  • Biscotti – Taupe Brown.
  • Notte – Blackberry.
  • Perla – Soft rosy nude.
  • Rubino – Deep red.

Stilla also have a range of three Heavens Hue Highlighters (£28.00) – these are ultra-fine highlighters designed to give skin a natural glow. I have shade Bronze which though lovely, is way too dark for my complexion. If you have a darker skin tone though I think this could look stunning. These come in three shades –

  • Transcendence – Opalescent pink.
  • Kitten – Shimmering nude pink.
  • Bronze – Radiant sun-kissed shimmer.

And lastly, there’s the Glitterati Lip Top Coat (£18.00) – this is a shimmering top coat for application over matte lipsticks. I don’t have a sample of this but I did try one at the event and they look absolutely mesmerising! I know this sounds a bit OTT but this top coat has a really thin watery consistency, which you can see swishing around in the tube and it just looks amazing (sorry I’m easily excited by glittery things) – these basically add a glitter top coat to your matte lipsticks, without a having glossy finish.

  • Transcend – Transparent pink with multi-coloured sparkle.
  • Ignite – Transparent berry sparkle.

I’ve already shared swatches on my Instagram Stories, but if you missed this and would like to see swatches of anything above please do let me know and I’ll be more than happy to share.

Stila’s Glitter Underground Collection is available now at StilaBeauty Bay and ASOS.

Beauty: Charlotte Tilbury NEW Lipsticks in Valentine & Pillow Talk

Posted on February 13, 2017

Hi Guys!

Charlotte Tilbury has been coming out with so many fantastic new launches of late, I’m not sure I can keep up! I have a couple of her latest lipstick shades to show you today – and these are definite must-haves for fans of the brand…

Firstly, Valentine (above right) is from the K.I.S.S.I.N.G range – this is a beautiful petal-rose pink promising to give you irresistibly kissable lips in seconds. The formula is enriched with 3D light-diffusing pigments to give you a fuller, luminous, multi-dimensional finish, whilst protecting lips from UV damage and fighting oxidative stress – leaving lips soft, pert, soothed and hydrated.

Valentine is fairly similar to colour Bitch Perfect, but Bitch Perfect has more of a coral / beige tone, and Valentine is a much more cooler pink shade. It’s a truly beautiful colour that would be perfect for those with fairer skin tones. The colour is highly pigmented and easily buildable, and leaves lips feeling smooth and comfortable for hours on end.

And I also have the latest from the Matte Revolution range – shade Pillow Talk. This shade perfectly matches Charlotte’s famous Pillow Talk Lip Cheat Lip Liner which has been around for quite a long time now – if you’re not aware of the lip liner, this is one of Charlotte’s ‘cult’ must-have products that really does live up to the hype. Back to the lipstick now though – on the face of it this is just another nude pink lipstick, but it actually mimics and enhances the natural hue of your lips, so you can easily cheat your way to a perfect pillowy pout in seconds.

This lipstick is formulated with soothing Orchid and Lipstick Tree extracts, to soften, hydrate and leave lips appearing fuller with a more youthful feel, and 3D glowing pigments create the illusion of lit-from-within lips that appear wider and fuller.

If you like a matte finish lipstick, Pillow Talk is the perfect ‘my lips but better’ shade, again I’d say mostly suited to those with lighter skin tones, this lasted me for a good 4+ hours before I needed to reapply, and the pigmentation is just fantastic!

The swatches above show the shades are similar, but most definitely different. Pillow Talk on the left has a denser formula with a matte finish, and Valentine is lighter and pinker in colour with a satin finish.

I also wanted to mention Charlotte has a couple of gorgeous looking new ‘Look’ sets which include these new lipsticks too – The Naturally Beautiful Date Look includes Pillow Talk, and The Secret to Seduction Look includes Valentine.

Valentine and Pillow Talk Lipsticks are £24.00 each and available now at Charlotte Tilbury.

Beauty: Paul & Joe SS17 Limited Edition Collection

Posted on February 8, 2017

Hi Guys!

I thought I’d follow the beautiful Penhaligon’s fragrance from earlier today with some equally beautiful makeup for you to feast your eyes on this evening.

You probably know by now that I’m a complete sucker for pretty packaging. If it’s cute, colourful, sparkly, weird or just plain unusual then I need it in my life. So quite obviously Paul & Joe’s makeup range ticks all the boxes for me – and when some samples of their new SS17 collection arrived at TSNC HQ last week, I actually squealed with delight! (I mean I literally did. If you saw my Instagram Stories that day you’ll have seen how happy I was!)

The Face & Eye Colour Palette (£25.00) is easily the stand out product in the limited edition SS17 collection. I wasn’t really sure what it was exactly when I saw the outer packaging which said ‘Eye and Cheek CS’, but on opening it up I found literally THE CUTEST little box inside, with the sweetest cat print on top, and a pouffy ‘cat paw’ applicator on a stick, adorned with a sweet little bow. I mean these cats are wearing glasses and ties, what’s not to love!? This is most definitely the most adorable makeup product I’ve ever seen.

The box opens to reveal a stunning eye and cheek palette in the shape of a cat, with a background of white hearts. There are three options to choose from, and the one I have is shade 109 Mon Petit Chat. Personally I would say this is more of a collectors item, rather than a makeup product you’d actually use – that’s just because I hoard pretty things though 🙂 The shades available are –

  • 107 Smitten Kitten – Terracotta and deep rosy red.
  • 108 Poupounette – Shimmering orange bronze and pink.
  • 109 Mon Petit Chat – Bright and dusky pinks.

Fans of the brand will know that Paul & Joe are ALL about the cats. Cats and flowers and cute quirky patterns. And their cat head lipsticks are definitely another must have product. I should also mention here that many of Paul & Joe’s products come in separate parts and are interchangeable. So for the lipsticks you can buy individual outer cases with separate lipstick bullet refills, and mix and match as you please.

Their spring print Lipstick Cases (£7.00) come in three options, and I have the Bold Flower print one above. And the individual Lipstick Refills (£14.00) for this season come in two colour options with a 3D cat face tip –

  • 103 Russian Blue – Clear coloured lipstick that turns slightly different shades of pink on different skin.
  • 104 Persian Pink – Bright pop of pink.

And lastly the Eye Colour Trio (£23.00) – again the actually trio of eyeshadows comes as a separate component to the Compact Case (£7.00) that you put them in. This dinky little eyeshadow trio comes in three different options for SS17. The shadows are highly pigmented and smooth on application, and the mini size of the palette means it’s perfect for throwing in your makeup bag when you’re on the go. The shades available are –

  • Mon Prince – Naturals, light pink, purple and red brown.
  • Mon Nounours – Salmon pink, gunmetal and black.
  • Mon Coeur – Golden sand, bright light pink and deep pink.

The empty outer Compact Cases will also fit any of Paul & Joes other eyeshadow trios or blushers, and come in three super cute designs. I think you can guess which one I have –

  • Floral – White and grey stripes with a floral pattern.
  • Swallows – Swallows on a light blue background.
  • Bold Flowers – White with a black, red and blue floral design.

Paul & Joe Cosmetics are available at Beauty Bay and ASOS, and both sites have sales on Paul & Joe right now so make sure you take a look!

Hi Guys!

Us bloggers are very lucky to receive some amazing products to try out and share with our readers, and of course, some of these products will appeal to us more than others. So when the post arrived yesterday and I opened one of the packages to find a Too Faced X Skinnydip makeup bag, my heart did a little dance!

Too Faced and Skinnydip are two of my favourite ever brands, and them teaming up for a collaboration is just a match made in heaven if you ask me!

The new limited edition Too Faced X Skinnydip makeup bag is a good sized bag that’s big enough to fit all your essentials in (including your favourite Too Faced palette) and it’s made with a clear rubber material with glitter particles in it. It’s covered in pictures of Too Faced makeup, hearts, bows and Too Faced’s owners Jerrod Blandino’s super cute dog Clover. It also has a gold zip with the gold Skinnydip logo on the side.

Beauty News: L’Oreal Paris X Disney Beauty and the Beast Collection!

Posted on February 6, 2017

Hi Guys!

This is not a drill – there is a L’Oreal X Disney Beauty and the Beast collection – and it looks AMAZING…

I’ve literally just heard about this so I’ve been scouring the internet to see what I can find out. It looks like this is a limited edition collection (no surprise there) and it includes seven Colour Riche Lipsticks with seven matching Colour Riche A L’Huile Nail Polishes, with each pair representing a different character from the film.

Lipstick & Nail Polish in Belle – an intense cream red lipstick in shade 337 Perfect Red, with a matching deep blood red nail polish in shade 550 Rouge Sauvage. The packaging is again in red with a repeating golden silhouette of Belle all over.

Lipstick & Nail Polish in The Beast – L’oreal have gone with a deep brown chocolate shade of lipstick to represent the beast – this is shade 703 Oud Obsession, and the matching nail polish in 668 Royal Bleu represents his clothing. The packaging is midnight blue with golden scratches.

Lipstick & Nail Polish in Rose – obviously to represent the famous rose in the Beauty & The Beast Story, this lipstick shade is a deep red, shade 335 Carmin Saint Germain, with an interesting choice of nail polish, this is 110 Crystal, a clear top coat. The packaging for this pair is just stunning, featuring an intricate rose on top of a sparkly blue background.

Lipstick & Nail Polish in Lumiere – the famous candlestick is recreated in a beautiful nude beige colour lipstick – 231 Sepia Silk, and a delicate nude pink nail polish in 116 Cafe de Nuit. The packaging is gold and detailed to represent the markings on Lumiere the ornate candlestick.

Lipstick & Nail Polish in Mrs Potts – this super cute lipstick is a pretty shade of 285 Pink Fever with a matching nail shade in 226 Nymphea. The packaging has a shiny pearl base covered with a repeating pattern of a pink Mrs Potts.

Lipstick & Nail Polish in Plumette – L’oreal have gone with a deep plum shade, 374 Intense Plum to represent the saucy feather duster, Plumette, and matching nail shade of 556 Grenat Irreverent. The packaging has a white base, covered with plum feathers and kisses.

Lipstick & Nail Polish in Cogsworth – Cogsworth the pendulum clock is represented with an intense orange lipstick in 163 Orange Magique, and a matching nail polish in 444 Orange Triomphe. The packaging is made to look like wood, with images of cogs and gears to represent the character.

Ok so word on the street is that this collection is exclusive to Amazon Italy – and I have no idea if that’s true at the moment or not, but I’ll try my best to find out. It says online that it will be available at Amazon from 09/02/17, but I can see you can pick up the full set already here and individual lipsticks here – BUT this is Amazon Italy, therefore it’s written in Italian, so I cannot vouch for the credibility of these sellers – just thought I’d mention that.

Anyway, I’m REALLY hoping this will be available in the UK! I’ll update the post as soon as I find out more.

Beauty: New Makeup Worth Checking Out – Feat. New CID Cosmetics, Chantecaille, Lancome & More

Posted on

Hi Guys!

Happy Monday! I’ve gathered a few products together today that I really think are worth checking out. There are a couple of brands such as New CID Cosmetics and Suqqu that I’ve included specifically today as you don’t really hear much about them, but the do make some fantastic products – enjoy!

Ok so starting with New CID Cosmetics, the New CID Cosmetics i-Gloss Light Up Lip Gloss (£19.50 at Feelunique) is such a fun product – I mean who could resist a lip gloss with an automatic light in the lid, and a mirror on the side? And this shade, Moonstone is such a beautiful pearlescent pink – it’s great as a gloss on its own, or also as a lip topper worn over a liquid lipstick.

The Limited Edition i-groom Eyebrow Grooming Pencil and Brush (£19.50 at Feelunique) is another great product, this is a sleek looking, simple yet effective wind up brow pencil, with a spoolie brush at the opposite end. It creates a fine, sharp line that’s perfect for drawing on natural looking brows, without looking too heavy.

And the i-Prime Mini (£16.00 at Feelunique) – this is a mini 10ml primer, perfect for keeping in your on-the-go makeup bag. The formula is a lightweight serum including Shea Butter and Vitamin E to help blur imperfections, leaving skin looking radiant and beautiful.

Next I have a few products from Rodial – firstly their new Baking Powder (£29.00 at Rodial) – this is is perfect for those that like to do a full on makeup routine and ‘bake’ their face to set their base. This is a silky smooth loose powder that mattifies skin to give it a creamy, suede soft-focus finish whilst blurring imperfections. Simply apply this loose setting powder over your concealer or foundation, leave to warm on skin for 10-15 minutes and dust off the excess – easy.

And Rodial have also introduced their new Baking Brush (£40.00 at Rodial) to go with the above powder. This brush has been specifically designed with soft, dense hairs to allow for easy application of loose powder. It’s also the ideal tool for buffing and dusting off excess powder so you can achieve a flawless matte finish to your complexion.

Rodial also have a new Instaglam Compact Deluxe Highlighting Powder in 02 (£52.00 at Rodial) – this is a beautiful creamy textured highlighting powder, in a light champagne shade. It contains soft powders and refined pearls which are blended together to create a beautiful creamy powder with an iridescent finish.

Continuing with highlighters, I also wanted to include the Estee Edit Flash Illuminator Fluid Powder (£22.00 at Selfridges) – this is very similar to the Rodial highlighter above but this one is slightly more gold / peach toned. It would be great for light to medium skin tones and has a lovely smooth almost creamy texture that’s really flattering when applied to the top of the cheekbones especially.

And for a more budget friendly highlighter option, the Revlon PhotoReady Insta-Fix Highlighting Stick in Starlight (£9.99 at Boots) is definitely worth checking out. If you’re looking for a slightly deeper, more golden highlight, this stick formula has a wonderfully smooth consistency, and leaves the skin glowing with a golden sheen.

I also have a couple of the (fairly) new Lancome Cushion Blushers (£29.00 at Lancome) – these cushion blushers are perfect for giving the complexion a fresh, dewy glow. You only need a tiny amount to give a pretty flush to the skin, and the formula also offers intense hydration, and the cushion sponge allows you to easily build the intensity of the colour to suit your preference.

If you’re looking for a new eyeshadow palette, the Smith & Cult Book of Eyes Eyeshadow Palette (£34.00 at Beauty Bay) is one to add to your to-try list. There are four different quads available and I have Interlewd which contains some really pretty soft pinks and rich purple shades.

Or for single eyeshadows, the Chantecaille Mermaid Eyeshadow in Hematite (£29.00 at Space NK) is simply stunning. This is a crease-proof and water resistant product that can be worn either wet or dry and used an eye shadow or as an eyeliner. The formula is also infused with an anti-aging silk tree extract that helps lift the upper eyelid for a more youthful looking eye area.

And the Suqqu Extra Glow Lipstick (£23.00 at Selfridges) – Japanese cult brand Suqqu is another that you don’t see much of, but definitely worth a mention. Their Extra Glow Lipstick contains a blend of seven nourishing oils for long-lasting moisture, and creates the appearance of plumper lips with a natural sheen.

And going back to eyes, the Smith & Cult B-Line Eye Pen (£21.00 at Beauty Bay) is a richly pigmented, felt pen liner that’s both smudge-proof and waterproof. This innovative precision, felt tipped liner applies seamlessly along the lash-line giving highly pigmented colour with a quick drying finish. If you’re looking for a new pen style eyeliner I’d definitely recommend you check this one out.

For those looking to cover their dark circles, the Know Cosmetics No Dark Shadows Concealer in Wow (£15.00 at Superdrug) is just the product for the job. This is a multipurpose under eye concealer designed to conceal imperfections and dark circles, as well as highlight the complexion. This is available in two shades – Wow (rosy tone) and Pizazz (yellow tone) and offers medium coverage which is both long lasting and moisturising.

And back to Suqqu, their Gel Eyeliner (£20.00 at Selfridges) is a super thin 2mm precision tipped pencil eyeliner with a texture that seems to melt onto the skin, creating a wonderfully smooth and delicate line. This is perfect for those looking for a subtle and fine lined eyeliner.

You’ll probably notice I haven’t included many lip products today – when I was getting everything together I realised there are LOADS of amazing lip products that have recently launched, so I’ll be publishing a separate post just on them very soon.

I’d love to hear what you think? Have you tried any of these products yourself? I decided not to include swatches as I took some and they just weren’t doing the products justice. If you’d like to see swatches of anything though please do let me know and I’ll be happy to share on Insta Stories 🙂

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx
