LookFantastic July 2016 #LFSummerLovin Beauty Box

Posted on July 14, 2016

lookfantastic-lfsummerlovin-july-beauty-box

Hi Guys!

LookFantastic’s latest beauty box has just arrived, and as expected it’s full of fantastic beauty treats! Let’s take a look inside the box –

  • Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil in shade 6 – mini size, worth £9.25.
  • This Works In Transit Camera Close-Up Moisturiser, 20ml worth £15.00.
  • Kebelo Silk Anti Frizz Cream, 15ml worth £5.97.
  • Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Or Golden Shimmer Oil, 10ml worth £3.80.
  • BellaPierre Cosmetics Cheek & Lip Stain in Pink, full size worth £12.99.
  • MiTi Hair Ties x3, worth £4.95.
  • Elle Magazine, handbag size, worth £4.10.

Total value of box – £56.06.

Ok so starting with the stand out product here, which is of course the Benefit Goof Proof Pencil. Now I already have this, so I know it’s a fantastic product, and out of the few new Benefit brow products I’ve tried, this was easily my favourite. My only slight niggle here is that I’ve received shade 6 in this box, which is the darkest colour and almost black, so unfortunately it’s not suitable for me. I’m not sure if LookFantastic are giving everyone a shade 6 or if it’s a random selection. I know I’ll be able to give this to one of my friends though who will be very happy to use it!

The This Works In Transit Camera Close-Up Moisturiser is a fantastic sounding 3-in-1 product, it promises to even, plump and brighten the skin, whilst acting as a mask, moisturiser and a primer all in one handy tube. The formula contains repairing plant oils as well as caffeine to erase signs of fatigue and make your skin look radiant – I’m looking forward to trying this out.

Next the Kebelo Silk Anti Frizz Cream – this is perfect for tackling unruly frizz, and it’s enriched with Quinoa, Amaranth and Chamomile to smooth and revitalise hair. It also contains Argan and Jojoba oil, to leave hair nourished, shiny and silky, as well as a unique heat protector and colour lock shield to protect the hair, whilst still sealing in richness.

The Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Or Golden Shimmer Oil is one of Nuxe’s most famous products – it’s a multi-use dry oil that gives a golden shimmer to your face, body and hair. The oil contains a cocktail of six precious plant oils (borage, St Johnswort, sweet almond, camellia, hazelnut, and macadamia) to nourish, repair and soften face, body and hair, leaving skin velvety soft, and hair supple glossy and full of volume.

The BellaPierre Cosmetics Cheek & Lip Stain in Pink is a multi-use stain for cheeks and lips that’s both easily blendable and buildable. The stain can be applied sparingly for a subtle look, or layered for more intense finish, and you can use it as a lip balm, or on the apples of your cheeks for a sheer veil of colour.

And lastly the MiTi Hair Ties – this set of three hair ties has been designed specifically to be gentle on hair, leaving no indent, yet staying sturdy throughout the day and providing perfect hold. They’re also ideal for wear during sleep, as the ties are super gentle, reducing head stress for long-lasting comfort.

Lookfantastic February Beauty Box | Review

Posted on February 7, 2015

lookfantastic-february-box-review

Hi Guys!

Well it’s February already and my latest Lookfantastic beauty box has just arrived. I’ve been feeling a bit on the fence lately about these boxes, with the products to me being quite hit and miss, so I must say that I didn’t have the highest hopes for this box. Let’s take a look at what’s inside…

  • Korres Citrus Little Body Milk, 50ml. 200ml is £10 so 50ml is worth £2.50
  • Moroccanoil Treatment, 25ml, £13.45
  • Dr Pawpaw Multipurpose Soothing Balm, 25ml full size £6.95
  • Erno Laszio Sea Mud Deep Cleansing Bar, sample size 17g. 141.7g is £45 so 17g is £5.39
  • Monu Illuminating Primer, 50ml is £27.95 so 15ml is £8.38
  • Bellapiere Lipliner in Cinnamon £16.00

Total value = £52.67. Not bad hey!

Ok so I know the point of these boxes is so you get to try out new products, but on first inspection I was still a bit shocked at the minuscule size of the Cleansing Bar and Monu Primer, they really are teeny tiny! And I can’t help but feel a bit disappointed…

Maybe it’s my nose playing up because I’m getting a cold but the Korres Citrus Body milk smelled really masculine to me, which was quite unexpected. It’s not for me just because of the scent but my other half might like to give it a go. The Morocconoil Treatment is definitely a winner though, I’ve used this before and it’s a fantastic oil that leaves hair super soft – plus it smells really nice too. The Dr Pawpaw Multipurpose Soothing balm seems good too, it’s pretty much the same as my Papaya Gold PawPaw Balm but in a smaller tube, I’ve used it on my lips and it’s left them super soft, and it can also be used on the body too.

The Erno Laszio Sea Mud Deep Cleansing Bar is a bit of a funny one, this is a very neutral scented mini cleansing bar – which I must say is a great way to try the product as the full size version is a whopping £45! Eeek! I’ve just opened it and tried it out and it definitely left my skin feeling clean and soft, but I won’t be rushing out to buy the full sized bar. The Monu Primer is also in fact rather lovely, it looks and rubs into the skin like a moisturiser, but gives a hint of luminosity perfect for pre foundation. And lastly the Bellapierre Lipliner is actually really nice too, the cinnamon shade is a very wearable slightly brown toned nude, and it’s easy to apply and long lasting too.

Ok so maybe I’ve changed my tune a bit. I do actually like all the products here except for the Korres, so I think this box is actually money well spent after all.

At this point I was originally going to announce that I’ve made the decision not to buy any more Lookfantastic boxes. But now I’m not so sure! Should I get March’s box or not? Let me know what you think! xxx

Lookfantastic Beauty Box January | Review

Posted on January 8, 2015

lookfantastic-january-box-review

Hi Guys!

Today I have the first Lookfantastic beauty box of 2015 to share with you! So far I’ve bought every box available since they were first started in September last year, and overall there have been some really great products included. This is of course fantastic, but it also gives Lookfantastic a lot to live up to. Let’s see how January’s box fared up…

  • Nuxe Masque Creme Fraiche de Beaute 50ml full size, £19.50
  • Dualsenses Color Extra Rich 60 Sec Treatment 50ml, 200ml is £11.00 making 50ml £2.75
  • Molton Brown Templetree Body Wash 100ml, 300ml is £18.00 making 100ml £6.00
  • Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence 60ml, 250ml is £22.00 making 60ml £5.28
  • MyVitamins Energise Tablets, full size pack of 20, £4.49
  • Gatineau Strategie Jeunesse Eye Pads, 1 pair. 6 pairs are £34.50 so one is £5.75

Total = £43.77, this is the lowest value box so far.

Ok so value isn’t everything – at all, but on first glance I’m kind of on the fence a bit about this box. On one hand I love that there are some really generous sized products here, including two full sizes (this is the Nuxe and My Vitamins) but on the other I’m a bit disappointed with the Dualsenses 60 Sec Hair Treatment as it’s specifically for ‘thick to coarse colour treated hair‘ and my hair is completely the opposite – fine and not colour treated. It would have been nice to have a less targeted hair treatment included instead. I am though, super happy to find a nice little Molton Brown product in the box, the Templetree fragranced Body Wash smells divine! I’m a recent convert to Molton Brown after trying out one of their gift sets at Christmas and I don’t think I’ll ever look back. The Nuxe mask is also a product I’ve heard of before and after being impressed with the Nuxe Nuxellence Jeunesse Youth and Radiance Revealing Fluid from my November box, I’m really looking forward to trying this product out. Gatineau is another brand I’m familiar with by name only, theses eye pads are supposed to revive and rejuvenate the eye area which is exactly what my tired / baggy / dark circled eyes need right now, so fingers crossed these will do what they’re supposed to! And I’m also interested to try the Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence product as I have a bit of a love / hate relationship with haircare due to my super fine hair. I hope this will suit me and not weigh my hair down. And lastly the vitamin tablets, these are the ‘effervescent’ type that you drop into a glass of water and they kind of fizz. I’ll definitely be making the most of these as I’m out of vitamins at the moment.

I do really love the Molton Brown product, but I have to say overall this is probably my least favourite box so far, which is a shame. So I guess I now need to decide should I buy the February box or not? What do you think?

I hope you enjoyed my review xxx

  • Macademia Healing Oil Infused Comb. Full size, £6.00
  • Pure Gold Collagen Drink. A 10 pack is £35.99, making one bottle £3.50
  • Murad Essential-C Cleanser 45ml. A 200ml tube is £34.00, making 45ml £7.65.
  • Ole Henriksen’s Pure Truth Youth Activating Oil 15ml. A 30ml bottle is £47.00, so 15ml is £23.50

Total value = £67.49, not as good as last month, but I’m not complaining!

Ok so I’m pretty impressed with this box. The Bourjois palette and Lord & Berry eyeliner are worth more than the price of the box alone, and they’re both products I’ll use so this is definitely a good start. The Macadamia Healing Oil Infused Comb is a bit of a funny one though, the comb itself is pretty big, with massive teeth too, there’s nothing discreet about this bad boy! I have super fine hair so it’s really not made for someone like me! I’m going to give it a go though 🙂 I’m also already a massive fan of Ole Henriksen’s Pure Truth Cleanser and haven’t tried any other products of his yet, so I’m super excited to get stuck in with the Youth Activating Oil which has the same lovely citrusy scent. I’m a bit on the fence about the Gold Collagen drink – I don’t doubt that it’s going to be good for me but the bottle stated you should drink one bottle a day for 4 weeks or longer, so having one bottle is kind of pointless, but at least you can try out the product to see if you like the taste of it. And lastly we have the Murad and Elemis products, both are favourite brands of mine so I’m really pleased to find the Essential-C Cleanser and Papaya Enzyme Peel in the box.

Overall I’m pleased with this box, Lookfantastic have definitely included a good range of products this month. I’ll definitely be buying January’s box now too… 🙂

I’d love to hear if you bought this box and what you thought of it?

Lookfantastic Beauty Box November | Review

Hi Guys!

If you read my previous Lookfantastic beauty box reviews from September and October, you’ll know I was a bit on the fence about buying November’s box, I decided to give it a go anyway though for the sake of £15, and I have to say I’m so glad I did. This is easily my favourite box so far!

Here’s what was included –

  • Hand Chemistry intense youth complex hand cream 30ml. A 100ml tube is £18.99, making 30ml £5.70
  • Glam Glow youthmud tingleexfoliate treatment 15g. A 50g pot is £49.99, making 15g £14.99
  • Monu Recovery Balm 30ml. A 50ml tube is £22.50, making 30ml £13.50
  • NUXE Nuxellence Jeunesse Youth and Radiance Revealing Fluid 15ml. A 50ml bottle is £47.00, making 15ml £14.10
  • New Cid cosmetics lip and cheek tint RRP £14.00 Full size.
  • Eve Lom cleanser 30ml. A 100ml pot is £55.00, making 30ml £16.50.

Total value = £78.79, WOW!

Apart from the fact that this box is amazing value for money, I’m over the moon with the product selection! I’m neither here nor there about the hand cream, as hand creams don’t really excite me to be honest, but everything else is top notch! I’ve been wanting to try NUXE products for a while now, so the Youth and Radiance Revealing Fluid is perfect, Glam Glow is of course a cult favourite, which I haven’t tried either, and an Eve Lom cleanser too? Amazing! Lookfantastic have definitely pulled it out of the bag this month, lets hope they can keep this high standard up! December’s box is available to order now! Go go GO!!

I’d love to hear if you bought this box and what you thought of it?

Lookfantastic Beauty Box October | Review

Posted on October 8, 2014

Hi Guys!

I’ve just received my second Lookfantastic surprise beauty box! Yay! Just in case you haven’t heard, last month Lookfantastic jumped on the beauty box bandwagon and started selling their own beauty boxes on a monthly basis. Each one is £15 and a complete surprise so you don’t know what you’re getting – but you’re guaranteed to get six items covering skin, hair, cosmetic and body products. There’s no subscription service available as yet but I’ve been told they will be setting one up soon.

You can read about September’s box – here.

This is what I received in October’s box –

  • Korres Citrus Shower Gel 50ml. A 250ml bottle is £9.00, making 50ml £1.80.
  • KMS Free Shape Quick Blow Dry Spray 75ml. A 200ml bottle is £11.45, making 75ml £4.29
  • Balance Me Facial Expression Filler 15ml. This is full size, £22.00.
  • This Works Sleep Plus Pillow Spray 5ml. A 75ml bottle is £25, making 5ml £1.78
  • Loreal Pro-Keratin Refill Correcting Care Shampoo for Damaged Hair 100ml. A 250ml bottle is £10.99, making 100ml £4.39
  • Loreal Pro-Keratin Refill Correcting Care Masque for Damaged Hair 75ml. A 200ml pot is £13.99, making 75ml £5.24
  • Gatineau Collagen Expert Ultimate Smoothing Cream 15ml. A 50ml pot is £54.10, making 15ml £16.23.

The total value of this box comes to £53.93. I know it’s not all about the value but I like to know I’m getting my money’s worth, right!?

I have to say though, I do actually think I prefer my first box – and I’d also like it if the boxes were less focussed on hair care. Some makeup would be great too! (Hint hint Lookfantastic) I’m a bit disappointed with the This Works Pillow Spray, as this was also in the first box, so now I have two of them. The Korres shower gel smells pretty standard too, but I’m happy with the other products. At the end of the day though it’s only £15, which I’m happy to pay to get a box of beauty surprises! I think I’ll go for next month’s box too, and if I’m not totally satisfied I’ll make that my last one… I think 🙂

*Update* Ok it’s just been pointed out to me that the September box had the original This Works Sleep Spray and this box has the Plus version, so they are in fact different! 🙂

So what do you think? Did you get this box? Do you think it’s worth it? xxx
