Rodin Olio Lusso Mermaid Luxury Collection

Posted on June 27, 2018

I have a couple of beautiful brand new launches to share with you today from luxury brand Rodin Olio Lussso. Their new Mermaid collection focusses on soft and supple, natural looking skin, with a body and lip oil, as well as a couple of gorgeous highlighters for a radiant summertime glow…

The Olio Lusso Mermaid Collection features a radiance-boosting line-up of fantastical finishing rituals for face and body. Fulfilling her philosophy that there’s beauty in simplicity, Linda Rodin’s silken formulas nourish skin and generate an otherworldly glow. Rodin’s artist friend and fellow-Pisces, Donald Robertson, brings the skin care guru’s creations to life with exclusive packaging painted with magical marine life.

The Mermaid luxury Illuminating Powder is just absolutely stunning! Housed in a generously sized clear compact, the powder is embossed with a cute under sea design, including a mermaid and a couple of sea creatures. There is one shade available – Siren, which is a beautiful light nude pink toned champagne that will suit most skin tones, offering skin a natural sunlit radiance. The product itself is described as a gel-powder, and it has a sheer, buildable texture that can be applied with a light hand for a soft-focus glow, or layered up for a full on glowing sheen.

I also have Mermaid Luxury Kabuki Brush which as been specially designed to apply the Mermaid Illuminating Powder. It features a sleek and compact design with long white cashmere synthetic bristles. Though it’s compact in size, the brush head is quite large so you won’t be able to use this for detailed application (brow highlight, inner eye corners etc) This is perfect for large application areas, such as sweeping the product lightly all over the face, decolette and shoulders for a natural looking radiant glow.

I also have the Mermaid luxury Illuminating Liquid – this is essentially a liquid version of the above highlighter, again suitable for both face and body. It’s presented in a pump bottle with a nod to the under water theme printed on the front. The shade of the liquid highlighter is slightly more gold toned and the finish is more intense than the powder. The liquid gold formula is infused with an exquisite blend of micro-fine, light-reflecting optics, giving skin a super-radiant and healthy summer glow.

The collection also includes a Mermaid Luxury Lip Oil and Mermaid Luxury Body Oil – both described as indulgent elixirs infused with precious botanicals, one to condition lips and leave them looking full, supple and kissable, and the other for the supreme silkening, nourishing and moisturising of skin.

This really is a stunning collection and definitely worth a look if your on the hunt for a new highlighter this summer!

The Rodin Olio Lusso Mermaid Luxury collection is available now at Liberty London.

Cohorted Beauty Box June 18 / Doucce Beauty

Posted on June 25, 2018

It’s been a really long time since I’ve reviewed Cohorted’s monthly beauty boxes – but today Cohorted are back on the blog with their latest box for June 2018!

This particular box is brand specific, containing a selection of colour cosmetics from New York beauty brand, Doucce Cosmetics. Personally I hadn’t heard of Doucce before, so if like me you’re new to the brand, here’s a bit of background info –

Doucce was born in New York, and its name was inspired by the French word “douce”, meaning soft and elegant. Each one of Doucce’s innovative products embodies the underlying ethos of the brand’s name and ideals, by combining high fashion hues and contemporary packaging, to create the perfect combination of trendy and très chic.

The Cohorted X Doucce beauty box contains a selection of six Doucce products, valued at a total of £146.00. On first look, the products appear high quality, weighty and have an overall luxurious feel. Let’s take a closer look…

The Freematic Pro Palette (£50.00) is definitely the stand out product here. This palette has been designed specifically for Cohorted and contains a selection of face and eye colours. The Freematic palette itself is essentially an empty magnetic palette that’s specifically made to fit Doucce’s corresponding eyeshadows, blushers, bronzers and highlighters.

Cohorted’s Freematic Pro Palette includes one large highlighter pan in shade Ember, a light champagne shimmer, two medium blusher pans in 52 Delightful Peach, a light peach with a hint of shimmer, and 55 After Party, a muted matt pink. There are also four eyeshadows – shade 89 Gracie, a matte taupe grey, 58 Nadia, an intense bronze-gold shimmer, 77 Julia, a pink-bronze shimmer, and 86 Sophia, a muted matte Burgundy. All shades are soft and well pigmented, and I’d say the shimmers are more impressive than the mattes, but all are very nice to use and easy to blend.

The Fierce and Fine Graphic Pen is described as a deeply pigmented waterproof graphic pen that is both easy to use and creates precise, sharp lines. And I have to say I absolutely love this pen! The formula is inky black, dries down quickly and doesn’t move throughout the day. I’d say it’s on par with my Stila Stay All Day Eyeliner which I use all the time.

And to finish your eye look, the Maxlash Mascara promises to intensify your lashes with outrageous volume and length. Unfortunately this didn’t really do much for me. The XL brush was too large for my short and fine lashes, and the mascara itself did give a bit of volume, but no curl or length. If you’re lucky enough to have longer lashes though this could work well for you.

On to lips now, Cohorted have also included a Doucce Matte Temptation Lipstick in 103 First Date – I must admit I thought the lipstick bullett looked incredibly matte, and I really though it was going to be drying, but actually it was nicely creamy, giving a matte finish that gave full coverage colour as well as feeling smooth and comfortable on the lips. The shade didn’t really suit me, bit I’d definitely be interested in trying some of their other colours – this is a great alternative to a matte liquid lipstick.

The Lip Definer Pencil in shade 470 Lyra has been chosen to match the above lipstick. It gave a smooth, pigmented line that definitely helped keep my lipstick in place – no complaints here!

And lastly the Brow Filler Pencil in Ash Brown. This was another winner for me – the shade was perfect for my light brown brows, and the firm formula gave nice sharp lines which were great for drawing individual lines as well as filling in the brows.

If you’re interested in subscribing to Cohorted’s monthly beauty boxes, you can do so here. Make sure you use code #COHORTEDGIFTME which gives first time subscribers a free Huda Beauty lip Strobe in shade Angelic (worth £17.00) with their first box.

Urban Decay x Feelunique Beauty On The Go Kit

Posted on June 18, 2018

Urban Decay have recently teamed up with Feelunque to bring you their fantastic Beauty on the Go Kit – priced at a very reasonable £45.00 (with a value of £69.00) this set includes a must have selection of both full size and travel size Urban Decay products…

The Urban Decay Beauty on the Go Kit Powered by Feelunique contains the following –

Anti-Ageing Eyeshadow Primer (Travel Size, 5ml) – Apply before your eyeshadow for more vibrant, crease-free colour that lasts for 24 hours. This not only locks shadow in place but also improves tone and texture, while optical blurring pigments create a subtle, soft-focus effect that instantly wakes up tired eyes and minimises the appearance of redness and other imperfections.

All Nighter Setting Spray (Travel Size, 30ml) – Mist on this travel-size weightless spray to give your makeup serious staying power. The All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray keeps your makeup looking gorgeously just-applied for up to 16 hours, without melting, cracking, fading or settling into fine lines.

Perversion Mascara (Travel Size 4ml) – Build, separate and define the look of each lash. This mascara has a creamy, full-bodied texture that’s not too dry, not too wet, so you can go ahead and pile on coat after coat.

Naked Basics Palette (Full Size) – One of my personal favourite Urban Decay palettes, it contains six versatile neutral shadows, with five mattes and one satin shade – which is perfect for an inner corner highlight. All shades are great for wearing on a daily basis and have a smooth, luxe finish.

Moondust Eyeshadow (Full Size 1.5g in shade Diamond Dog) – This single eyeshadow is dazzlingly sparkly with a super refined finish – there’s no chunky glitter here!

Holographic Cosmetics Bag – The perfect size for all your makeup, or if you don’t fancy using it as a makeup bag, why not use it as stationery case or travel bag?

The Urban Decay Beauty on the Go Kit is available now at Feelunique.

Beauty: New Pixi Pretties Collection #PixiPretties

Posted on April 11, 2018

Hi Guys!

A couple of weeks ago the most amazing press package arrived at my house, and I was SO excited to find it was the new Pixi Pretties collection from Pixi Beauty!

Pixi Beauty is well known for teaming up with bloggers on limited edition collections, and their latest collaboration is with three influencers from the US. Each has their own mini collection including, eyeshadows, blushers, lip gloss and more…

Firstly I have Chloe Morello’s Palette (£28.00) – Chloe’s palette is inspired by love and romance and contains a selection of her favourite hues to bring out your inner glow. The palette includes three silky blush shades – apricot-amber, ballet pink and rich, rosy coral, which are perfect for giving a natural looking flush to the skin. There are also six neutral, easy to wear eye shades in three duo pans, as well as a handy trio of brown and black matte shades to enhance, define and line both the eyes and brows.

Chole has also created her own Lip Icing Lip Glow (£16.00) – This liquid lip gloss in shade Cake adds a luminous 3D glimmer to the lips. Cake is described as a golden, blushed champagne hue with three-dimensional glints of glitter. The formula is also infused with nourishing rose hip seed and marula oil to smooth and condition the lips. It can be worn alone, as a topper for your favourite lip colour or used only in the centre to create the illusion of fuller lips. This lip gloss is honestly so sparkly – I’ve been using it as a topper over my favourite liquid lipstick 🙂

Next, Dulce Candy’s Cafe Con Dulce Palette (£28.00) – this is a really interesting multi-use palette, and I don’t actually think I’ve seen anything like this before. It contains nine large powder-to-cream shimmering shades, including golds, rose tones and bronzes. These shades are designed to be used anywhere on the face, to give a luminous, glowing finish. And I have to say, I absolutely love this palette! The shades are amazingly well pigmented, and super shimmery. I love the top right shade (Brilliant) as an inner corner highlighter for the eyes, and the rest of the colours look beautiful used as eyeshadows, blushers and cheek highlighters.

And Dulce Candy’s Lip Candy Palette (£28.00) – this is another multi-use edit of nine large-pan shades. This time the formula comprises of rich, velvety creams that can be used on both lips and cheeks, and includes shades from the palest pink to deep plum, via vibrant fuchsia, rosy coral and muted, blushed taupes. These shades deliver beautiful colour payoff, applying smoothly and adhering easily to give a long-lasting finish. They also contain antioxidants and minerals, to protect skin, keeping it soft and hydrated.

And lastly Weylie Hoang’s Dimensional Eye Creator Kit. As soon as I saw this palette I was instantly excited, these are definitely my kind of shades! Weylie’s Dimensional Eye Creator Kit is specially designed to flatter and enhance all eye shapes and sizes. The eyeshadow palette contains six wonderfully pigmented eyeshadows, three with a matte finish and three with a shimmer finish. The colours include a gorgeous selection of warm tones – such as muted terracotta, rich burgundy and shimmery brown. These shades have been designed to flatter all eye shapes and sizes, and are versatile enough for both natural and dramatic looks. The kit also includes a fantastic 2-in-1 black kohl pencil and liquid eyeliner duo to cater to your every lining need.

I’m honestly so impressed with these products, Pixi Beauty just continue to produce fantastic products time and time again! If you’re thinking of picking up something from this collection, I’d highly recommend the Cafe Con Dulce Palette, or Weylie’s Eye Creator Kit 🙂

All the above products are available now at Cult Beauty and Pixi Beauty.

Beauty: What’s New at Dior for SS18

Posted on April 10, 2018

Hi Guys!

Happy Tuesday! I have a gorgeous bundle of brand new products from Dior at FeelUnique to share with you today. I’ve got a new foundation and concealer, as well as a couple of lip products and a fabulous new serum. Let’s get stuck in!

Starting with the DiorSkin Forever Undercover Foundation (Top swatch, £34.00) – the DiorSkin Forever Undercover Foundation promises 24 hour full coverage with a natural matte finish, that’s kiss proof, touch proof and life proof. Unfortunately I have slightly the wrong shade for me, this is 020 Beige Clair which is just a bit too dark. Not to worry though, in the interest of science I still went ahead and tried it out in the privacy of my own home!

The DiorSkin Forever Undercover Foundation consistency is a light, runny liquid, and offers high pigmentation to give a pretty much full coverage finish, depending on how you apply it. I found that a quick application with fingers gives a nice medium level of coverage, but application with a beauty blender gives a more full coverage, flawless look.

And I have to say, Dior wasn’t wrong when they said this foundation has a natural matte finish. There’s nothing chalky about this foundation whatsoever – which I have to be careful of when it comes to matte foundations as my skin tends to be on the dry side. The finish is very true to life, and almost undetectable. If you’re looking for a lightweight, full coverage foundation that looks super natural, this could definitely be the one for you.

I also have the DiorSkin Forever Concealer (£21.00) – which is the perfect partner for the above foundation. It contains 25% more pigment than the foundation, and promises to instantly camouflage imperfections. It’s also water resistant and gives up to 8 hours of wear.

So for this product I do have the right shade! 101 Ivory was just right for my pale complexion. And just like I expected, this concealer is basically a more intense version of the forever Foundation. It worked fantastically well on my under eye area, giving natural looking coverage, without emphasising my fine lines.

Onto lips now, the new Dior Addict Lipglow Backstage Pros Matte (right swatch, £26.00) is the first colour reviver lip balm by Dior, combining the comfort of a balm with a touch of colour for a tailor-made flush of pink. Its secret lies in a perfect balance between make-up and lip care. The formula reacts to the pH level of your lips, providing a natural flush of customised pink. In terms of comfort, the formula is enriched with mango butter, ensuring up to 24-hour hydration.

I also have one of the new Rouge Dior Liquid Lip Stains (£27.50) – available in three finishes – matte, satin and metal, these lip stains promise intense couture colour with a 12 hour extreme long-wear finish.

The Rouge Dior Liquid formula contains mineral wax, ultra-fine silica powder and oils to give intense pigmentation, which perfectly glides over the lips for a long-wearing result. Equipped with a reservoir that takes up and deposits just the right amount of product, its fine applicator is the perfect tool for outlining the lips with precision.

I have shade 625 Mysterious Matte, which I’d describe as a fairly deep rose pink. I have to say, this is easily now one of my favourite matte liquid lipsticks. It’s not drying whatsoever, and though it’s not completely smudge or transfer proof, the finish is just beautiful, and most importantly, extremely comfortable on the lips.

And lastly I have the new Dior Capture Youth Cream Serum Glow (£75.00) – described as a radiance concentrate, the Dior Capture Youth Crème Serum Glow is composed of 80% naturally derived ingredients, including Kakadu plum which is 100 times more concentrated in vitamin C than an orange.

The serum offers an exfoliating effect, whilst being specially formulated to be gentle on skin. It promises to leave you with an invigorated, fresh, glowing complexion.

Dior advise to use this with their Capture Youth Cream, where you just add a couple of drops of serum to the cream before application. Or you can of course just use this as a booster with your normal moisturiser, which is what I’ve been doing. I’ve used this a few times now and and though on the pricey side, I think it’s a fantastic booster to add to your normal moisturiser if your skin’s in need of a bit of extra TLC. There are also other options available, including a Redness Soother, Plump Filler, and Lift Sculptor to name a few, so you can choose depending on your own skin concerns.

You can shop the above Dior products now at FeelUnique.

I’d love to hear if you’re a fan of Dior beauty? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Indulge Beauty: The UK’s Answer to Sephora?

Posted on April 9, 2018

Hi Guys!

So I’ve inadvertently taken a bit of a blogging break recently. You know when one thing after another goes wrong, well that’s been my life lately! The final straw was my laptop dying last weekend and losing everything I hadn’t recently saved, including all my programmes. I think I’m pretty much back to normal now though, so I’ve got lots of catching up to do, as well as re-taking a load of photos I lost – wish me luck!!

So, today I wanted to let you know about Indulge Beauty – described as a revolutionary beauty concept store, Indulge Beauty is looking to be the UK’s answer to Sephora, which really is quite exciting! This new beauty destination covers skincare, make-up, hair care and fragrance for both men and women.

At Indulge Beauty, our mission is to empower you when it comes to beauty and grooming – leaving it all in your hands. We aim to redefine the industry so you feel good about how you shop, feel and look – confidence to show the world the real you. What makes you, you, and what becomes the embodiment of your personality should be just that – all about you. The first of its kind in the UK, we’re not just a retailer, we’re a destination that allows you to put the control back into the way you shop. We recognise that so much of the beauty out there seems prescriptive, encouraged by sales targets and commission schemes. Instead, everything from our products, services and expertise is informed by you. We’re here to revolutionise the industry and the way you shop for your beauty.

Indulge Beauty have Kindly sent me a ‘Capsule Box’ compiled of some of their hero brands. The box includes a selection of mini products to give a feel of what Indulge Beauty is all about. There’s some fantastic brands included such as Urban Decay, Beauty Blender, Clarins and Glamglow, as well as some newer brands such as Touch in Sol, and lesser known brands such as Verso Skincare and Sachajuan.

I have a couple of generous 15ml fragrance samples from Loewe, which is a brand that I’m not familiar with. I love discovering new fragrances so I couldn’t wait to try these out. Loewe Solo Cedro is quite a clean unisex scent, and Loewe Quizas Pasion is a more mature, feminine fragrance.

I was excited to find a very handy handbag sized Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray in the box, as well as a Clarins Hydra Essential Cream and a Beauty Blender – these are all pretty much every day products for me so they’re definitely gratefully received!

There’s also a mini balm cleanser from Cleanser 27, again a brand that I haven’t heard of, a mini Hydrating Cloud Cream from Perricone MD, and a night cream from Verso that I’m looking forward to trying out. And not to mention sample sized treats from Glamglow and new brand Touch In Sol (I’ll be uploading a Youtube video on this brand very soon)

Overall I’m really impressed with both the range of brands and variety of products Indulge Beauty offers. I’d love to hear if you’ve hear of them, or shopped with them before?

You can shop online at Indulge Beauty now, as well as in-store at Westfield Stratford City, London.

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx
