I’ve got some gorgeous Max Factor goodies to share with you today! I’ve been trying to think of the last Max Factor product I used, and the only thing I can come up with was a dark grey eyeshadow when I was about 13, which I covered my eyes and half my face with for Haloween! So this is a long overdue proper introduction the the brand! Anyway, I’ve been trying out a couple of new mini palettes from their Smokey Eye Drama range, and two new Lipfinity lipsticks…
Max Factor’s new Smokey Eye Drama Kits (£8.99) were developed after new global research for Max Factor revealed the smokey eye as the ultimate beauty look women want to achieve, but they found that 37% are too nervous to try it as they fear getting it wrong.
So Max Factor’s mission was to make creating a smokey eye look as easy as possible. Recognising women’s frustration with smaller eye shadow palettes featuring only one or two shades they desire, Max Factor brought its expert shaders together with top Hollywood make-up artists to mastermind six perfectly formulated palettes. Each has four shades, to deliver a variety of looks that enhance each individual’s own colouring.
From earthy tones, such as sultry browns, taupes and slate coloured greys to suit blue eyes, to neutral tones with gold shimmers to complement deeper skin tones – each palette contains a beautiful selection of vibrant, buildable shadows, enriched with skin conditioners for smooth and even application.
So firstly, I love that these palettes or ‘kits’ are super dinky. They’re small enough to easily fit in your hand, as well as being super slim too, which is just perfect to throw in your makeup bag, handbag, or even clutch for a night out. The downside of that is the pans are pretty small, which is usually a bugbear of mine, but in this case I’m happy to forgive because the kits are so amazingly space saving.
03 Sumptuous Golds shown above is just beautiful, I think these gorgeous golden shades will look fab on any eye colour, but I have blue eyes, and I love warm browns and golds especially so this is definitely one for me. The shadows all give great colour payoff, with a fantastic pearly shimmer.
And this is 05 Magnetic Jades. Perfect for brown and green eyes, this palette contains some beautiful deep jewel tones, in teal and olive green, as well as a neutral mid brown and a highlight.
And just look at the lipsticks – WOW! Inspired by Marilyn Monroe’s iconic look, Max Factor has launched its latest lip innovation with the new Lipfinity Long Lasting Lipstick (£8.99) – a no compromise long wear lipstick, delivering moisturising, bold colour that stays looking luscious all day long.
In Max Factor’s research I mentioned earlier, they also found that 38% of women love the impact of a striking, bold lip but find that long wear products feel drying on their lips. Max Factor are offering a solution to this with the Lipfinity Long Lasting Lipstick – its first one-step, long-lasting lipstick for rich, gorgeous lasting colour that keeps lips feeling soft and moisturised lasting for up to 8 hours.
I mean just look at the intensity of these shades! The finish really reminds me of MAC’s Amplified lipsticks – full on pigmentation with a creamy, non-drying finish. The amazing pink shade is called 50 Just Alluring, and the orange-red shade is 30 Forever Striking.
I’m so glad I’ve had the chance to try these products out, they’re all fantastic but I have to say I definitely love the lipsticks the most!
