Neve Cosmetics Build Your Own Palette + Giveaway!

Posted on September 17, 2015

Hi Guys!

I’m SO excited today to tell you about Neve Cosmetics new build your own palettes. I do get pretty excited about makeup, but I’m excited about this especially because these eyeshadows are easily some of the best I’ve ever used, oh and they’re really affordable too!

If you’re not familiar with Neve Cosmetics. they’re an Italian based brand but you can also buy most of their products from Cute Cosmetics and Cocktail Cosmtics in the UK. I’ve previously reviewed a load of their products including an amazing brightly coloured eyeshadow palette, as well as some lovely nude lipstick shades, and I’ve always been impressed.

So lets take a look at their new custom palettes! Firstly you choose your palette, which has four pan spaces, and comes in a range of six colours. Each empty palette is EUR 5.90 (£4.20), and they’re made out of a sturdy, glossy finish plastic, with the Neve Cosmetics logo printed on the lid.

You then choose your single eyeshadows to add to your palette. Neve have a massive selection of 50 different eyeshadows, with a variety of finishes. They also have single blushers, bronzers and a highlight that fit this palette too. Each single eyeshadow costs from EUR 4.20 (£3.06) meaning your completed palette could cost as little as £16.44. (Also these products are all on sale at the moment, so it would actually work out cheaper still!)

And this is the palette I created – isn’t it just beautiful!? I’m so pleased with it! The eyeshadows are so much prettier than I could have ever imagined!

If you look at the eyeshadow page on the Neve Cosmetics site here, you’ll see that the eyeshadow images really do not do the products justice at all. Just look at Fenice below, it’s such a beautiful shimmer shade, but unfortunately this does not translate on Neve’s site. This just shows how good product imagery really does make all the difference!

Let’s take a closer look at the shades. First up is Fenice – an intense warm coppery duochrome shade with a pink glow. This is definitely a wow shade for me, I love copper shades and I think they look stunning on any colour eyes too. This shade is just perfection to me!

Next up is Abracadabra – this is a pale cerulean blue duochrome shade with a very light green shimmer. Again a gorgeous shade that would look lovely as a wash of colour across the lids.

And Chimera – this is a stunning deep purple duochrome shade with pink shimmer and auburn glitter.

And lastly Mela Stregata – this is a really interesting colour, it’s described as a fuchsia purple duochrome with aqua green shimmers. It looks amazing when it catches the light!

I’m just in love with all of these shades, you really could create endless looks with them and I can’t wait to get stuck in and start experimenting! Also, I love that they’re all a decent size, so you’ll get plenty of use out of them.

And of course the all important swatches. JUST LOOK AT THE PIGMENTATION GUYS! I really was wowed when I first tried these out, the shadows were all buttery soft, easy to apply and blend and the pigmentation was just out of this world.

These shadows truly are stunning, as well as being beautiful to work with. I’m so glad I’ve had the chance to try them out, I’ll have to make myself another palette soon – maybe as a Christmas treat!?

I have another one of these gorgeous palettes up for grabs, kindly supplied by Neve Cosmetics. Just enter via the Rafflecopter widget below! This giveaway will run for two weeks, and is open internationally. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Good luck!

The Weekly Top 5 #9 (Plus Exciting News!)

Posted on June 7, 2015

Hi Guys!

It’s been a pretty crazy week for me, I was going to save this for a separate post but there’s no time like the present hey! Basically I was made redundant, which was pretty weird as I’d been at my job for nearly seven years, but it isn’t actually a bad thing because now I can blog full time! I also freelance in blogger outreach and social media management, so hopefully I’ll be able to do more of that too. It’s pretty scary being 100% self employed (rather than self employed and employed at the same time as I was before) but I think this is the push I needed to take things to the next level with my blog. I’m looking forward to working harder and dedicating more time to writing. Exciting times!! So basically this week I’ve been chilling out and having a much needed rest, tidying the house and getting used to my new found freedom!

I’ve been making good use of my Personal Planner Blog Planner, getting posts planned and scheduled in, making notes of things I need to remember and generally getting myself up to date with things. If you’re thinking about buying a blog planner you should definitely check this site out, I love that you can completely customise your planner so it suits your needs, as well as choosing your front cover, and they also come in a variety of sizes to suit everyone.

The sun has most definitely had his hat on this week, I’ve been having a great time playing with Fred and making the most of the weather. My ASOS Fine Frame Cat Eye Sunglasses With Flash Lens (£10.00) have been on my face all week, I LOVE these sunnies! You can’t see from the picture but they have asweome coloured mirror shine lenses.

I flirt constantly with coloured eyeliner, but found myself recently in a CBA mood and not wearing any makeup at all, I’ve been basically in a complete funk, but now (maybe because I’m ‘free’?) I’ve been feeling pretty awesome and starting busting out my trusty Bourjois Contour Clubbing Eyeliner in Bleu Neon (£4.99) This is the most amazing electric blue eyeliner – everyone should own one.

This week I’ve found myself wearing a rather interesting scent – Eau Des Minimes Cologne (£19.00) This unisex scent really matches the current weather, it includes fresh sparkling citrus notes of lemon, blood orange and grapefruit, as well as seven plants chosen for their beneficial properties. This fragrance gives a feeling of freshness and wellbeing, boosting your mood and energising the skin.

And lastly I had a surprise package arrive from Neve Cosmetics, their brand new Yumtint Lip Balm (£TBC) This sweet little twist up balm hydrates while intensifying the colour of the lips with a pretty and easy to wear strawberry tint. Something about the packaging and the light strawberry scent reminds me of children’s makeup, you know the lip and nail ‘tints’ for little ones? This may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I love the burst of nostalgia! This will be available from June 10th.

I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to this week? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

My Top Picks From Neve Cosmetics

Posted on March 26, 2015

Hi Guys!

You know I love bright colours, and Neve Cosmetics really have hit the nail on the head here! I’ve got some fab products to show you today, including this amazing palette of rainbow eyeshadow shades, a brightening primer, coloured eyeliner pencil, concealer and illuminating powder.

The Intensissimi Eye Palette (£21.95) contains ten bright and bold eyeshadow shades, in a fantastic array of rainbow colours. I know this isn’t going to be everyone’s’ cup of tea, so it’s also worth noting they have other palettes available with darker colours, pastel shades and neutrals too. I love that the palette is a really good size, and the pans are massive so you definitely get your money’s worth when it comes to the amount of product included. The only improvement I’d add is a mirror in the lid!

And just look at the pigmentation! These colours rally are superb. They’re super soft, full of pigment and are easy to apply and blend too. The only palette I have that I can compare this too is the Makeup Revolution Colour Chaos Palette, which is smaller in size but full of bright shades. I think the Neve palette comes out on top just because the pigmentation is that much better, though I’d still recommend the MUR palette if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative.

I also have the Hide and Seek Concealer (£6.95) – this is a handy little pot of cream concealer that really does the job. It dries to a matte powder finish, and it’s also vegan, silicone and paraben free. I have the second lightest shade which is Light and it’s definitely fair enough for my neon white skin tone. I love the super matte finish it gives – there’s nothing creamy or shiny about this product at all. I’m currently using it to help disguise my under eye dark circles and it’s doing a great job!

The Illuminismo Face Powder (£9.95) is a gorgeous soft and silky weightless powder that highlights the complexion – it’s basically a loose powder version of MAC’s MSF’s. It’s perfect for creating highlights under the brows, on the cheekbones, or wherever you want your skin to catch the light. Again it contains no parabens and no silicones and it’s vegan and cruelty free. I have to say I really love the finish of this powder, it really is just like a MSF, but I think I’d prefer it in a pressed powder just for ease of use.

And the BioPrimer Brightening Primer for dull skin (£9.50) – this is another vegan, cruelty and silicone free product, promising a smooth finish to the skin with brightening properties to enhance a dull or dry complexion. This sounds just what I need right now! It’s formulated with nourishing argan oil, protective shea butter and moisturising aloe extract, so this primer aims to give skin a healthy and radiant finish. I love that it gives the slightest hint of illumination to the skin, I couldn’t capture it on camera unfortunately. It’s not sparkly or shimmery, but definitely illuminating and just makes your complexion look a bit brighter.

I’m really impressed with all of the products I’ve been using today, and I can’t get enough of the amazing eyeshadow palette. I’ve used some of the eyeshadow shades, and the Pastello Eyeliner Pencil in Turquoise (£3.95) in the waterline to creat a quick, fun and colourful eye look – what do you think?

Neve Cosmetics are available in the UK from Cute Cosmetics – do check them out, as I brand I think they’re definitely underrated! And I also have a previous post on their lip products here.

I hope you enjoyed my review! xxx

Get The Perfect Nude Lip With Neve Cosmetics!

Posted on November 5, 2014

Hi Guys!

I’ve got some fab products from a completely new brand to show you today! Well the company is new to me anyway! I just love discovering new cosmetic brands, and I must admit I like to think I’m a bit ‘in the know‘ about different cosmetic companies but when I was contacted by Mineral Makeup Boutique, the new official European distributor for Neve Cosmetics, I have to admit I’d never heard of either of them before!

Neve Cosmetics is a brand that’s well known in Italy, and they make some gorgeous organic and cruelty free cosmetics and skincare products. They sent me over a lovely package with a zip-lock bag containing some nude lip products and they also added in some extra bits too which was lovely.

Inside the bag they’d included some handy product info…

…and some freebie skincare samples. Crema Etera is moisturiser for oily skin, Crema Esotica is moisturiser for dry or mature skin, Crema Sublime is moisturiser for sensitive skin and Crema Mirtillosa is body moisturiser. These are all available on the Mineral Boutique site for EUR 12.50 or under.

And now on to the good stuff! I have two Dessert A Levres lipsticks in Almond Cookie and Panna Cotta and two Pastello Lipcolor lip pencils in Ballerina Pink and Amore Pink. The lipsticks are EUR 11.90 (£9.29) each and the lip pencils are EUR 4.80 (£3.75) each, which is quite reasonable.

The two Dessert A Levres lipsticks I have are really similar in colour, there’s only the slightest difference between Almond Cookie and Panna Cotta. The outer packaging is super cute, with printed cartoon style lipsticks, and the bullet casing is a bright lilac with metallic gold lettering and logos – which really reminds me of Lime Crime lipsticks! The lipstick itself smell of vanilla, exactly the same as MAC lipsticks. The collection name also reminds me of Lime Crime – these lipsticks are called Dessert a Levres, and Lime Crime have a nail polish collection called Desserts d’Antoinette. It’s probably just a coincidence but thought I’d mention it!

The shades are described as follows –

Almond Cookie (top hand swatch) – warm, pink, biscuit nude. Neutral and elegant, this nude lipstick has caramel undertones designed to give your lips a deliciously crisp amber shade.

Panna Cotta (bottom hand swatch) – cold, pink nude. A sweet, delicate, and angelic shade that looks natural without fading into the background.

These lipsticks have a semi sheer, creamy finish. They also contain plenty of natural ingredients too such as vegetable oils and shea butter. It’s also definitely worth mentioning the formula includes no parabens, silicones, petrolatum or animal components, it’s formulated to reduce the risk of allergies, it’s fragrance free and also cruelty free. Wins all round then!

Next on to the Pastello Lip Pencils.

The Pastello Lipcolor pencils are organic with a vegan formula including vegetable oils and waxes. ‘As intense as a lipstick and as precise as a pencil, it is perfect to define your lips while naturally protecting them. Use the tip to line the contour of your lips with precision, then use the edge to colour the whole surface.’

Ballerina (bottom hand swatch) – a cold and harmonious neutral pink, to fill in the natural colour of your lips, making them look fuller and firmer without drastically altering the colour. The best “my lips but better” effect.

Amore (top hand swatch) – an intense and sensual pink. A shade inspired by the blush after a kiss: natural and yet so thrilling!

As with the lipsticks, the Pastello Lipcolor pencils formula includes no parabens, silicones, petrolatum or animal components, it’s formulated to reduce the risk of allergies and fragrance free and also cruelty free. It’s also suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

The finish of these is semi matte, the pencils are comfortable to wear and long lasting when worn all over the lips. I’ve tried other lip pencils all over the lips and found them to be super drying, these pencils have a finish more like a matte lipstick though which is great, plus you also have the precision application of a pencil! I love Ballerina especially, it’s such a pretty nude pink! On the top lip pencil image above I went slightly over my natural lip line with Ballerina to make my lips look bigger, and it really worked!

I’m really impressed with all of these products and I’d definitely recommend them if you’re looking to try a new brand! I’d love to hear what you think and if you’ve tried Neve Cosmetics before?

I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx
