Orgabico – Fusili Italian Durum Wheat Pasta
Organico sources good, clean, fair foods. This is the Slow Food movements motto. It means good in quality, clean in terms of the ingredients we use and the impact we have on the environment and fair in terms of the way suppliers and workers are treated. Our pasta is sourced from a pioneer organic co-operative in the La marche region which was set up to protect vanishing jobs in the countryside and to promote bio-diversity and rich agricultural soils that renew themselves.
Organico – Tomato and Basil Sauce
Our tomato sauce comes from another co-operative in Tuscany. The tomatoes are picked and packed within 24 hours to maximise the freshness of the product – leading to a few frenetic weeks in August – and each jar could actually be tracked back to a specific field. The pasta is slow dried and shaped with bronze plates, 100% La Marche durum wheat. Simple products, executed with care.
I’m so happy with all of these products, this box is a fantastic bargain for only £12.99 including delivery! So far I’ve devoured the milkshakes, which were lovely, and the popcorn. I’m looking forward to trying the porridge for my breakfast tomorrow, and the pasta and sauces will be on the menu soon too!
