Goldsmiths Norwich Re-Launch

Posted on April 17, 2015

Canapes,-Jazz-band,-Champagne

Hi Guys!

I was lucky enough to be invited to Goldsmith’s Norwich store re-launch last Saturday, but unlucky enough not to be able to make it! Gah! It’s not very often that events come up in Norwich so I was pretty disappointed to miss out on the champagne, canapés and in-store jazz band!

Goldsmiths are actually the UK’s largest luxury high street jewellers, and they were celebrating the re-opening of their Norwich store after an extensive refurbishment to make room for a larger jewellery and watch range, including a wide selection of TAG Heuer and Longines watches.

Goldmith's-36

Goldsmiths already stock some fantastic brands including DKNY and Hugo Boss, and now a brand new customer experience area means customers can receive advice from diamond and watch specialists whilst enjoying refreshments! Leading watch brands, TAG Heuer and Longines are also available with their own branded areas, plus a new wider selection of timeless chic jewellery from Michael Kors and Emporio Armani.

I was surprised to find out that Goldsmiths have been around for over 230 years, and they’re actually the UK’s largest distributor of Rolex, they also employ more watchmakers than any other UK High Street Retailer. This Tag Heur Carrera Gents Watch is just an example of the quality of pieces on offer.

Vera-Wang-Ring

Because diamonds are a girl’s best friend, and diamonds are also the birthstone for April, you have two perfect excuses to try out their new customer experience area! This Vera Wang Love Ring princess ring is simply stunning – I wish I could have seen it in the flesh! It’s made of 0.95 carats of sparkly diamonds set in 18 carat white gold. Which reminds me, it’s actually mine and the other half’s 10 year anniversary at the end of the month so I think I’ll suggest a little shopping trip… well a girl can dream!

The refurbished Goldsmiths showroom is located at 6-8 Brigg Street, Norwich, NR2 1QN. It’s open from April 1st from 9.00am – 5.30pm, with extended shopping hours until 7pm on Thursdays and 10.30am to 4.30pm on Sundays.

I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx

It’s Norwich Fashion Week!

Posted on March 8, 2015

Hi Guys!

Forget London Fashion Week, it’s now Norwich Fashion Week!! 😀

The fun kicked off on Thursday evening with the opening Retailers catwalk show, where local companies sent the best of what they had to offer down the catwalk. I was very excited to have VIP tickets and hopped along to the show with my BFF Laura. In the VIP area an amazing thing happened, I tried a glass of wine and I ACTUALLY LIKED IT. The bar were serving coffee based alcoholic drinks, but I don’t like coffee, so I reluctantly went for a wine, knowing I wouldn’t like it either, but then some sort of magic happened and I drank the whole glass without grimacing! It was a revelation! I contacted the lovely guys at Grey Seal Coffee who kindly let me know the wine was Lynton White from local Mark Lynton, so I need to track it down now.

Anyway I digress, the show was fantastic as expected, and it was great to see a mixture of bigger and smaller companies represented on the catwalk. I’ve included some of my favourite looks below –

The boys all looked fabulous, of course. I loved the sleek suits from House of Fraser.

I just knew I’d love what House of Fraser had to offer for the ladies too – and I did! There were some fantastic floral prints coming down the catwalk, and the most beautiful pleated skirt.

And lastly Jarrold, I loved all of their looks, with lots of spring pastels, clashing prints and fun accessories – check out that holo clutch guys. I was really impressed.

…Fast forward to this afternoon (Sunday, in case you’re reading this later) I headed into the city again with Laura for the second scheduled show – the Vintage Show held at Norwich Puppet Theatre. The Puppet Theatre was a bit harder to find – thank God for google maps – but we got there in the end, and it was a complete contrast to the previous retailers venue. Hosted in a converted church, the Puppet Theatre was the perfect setting for the Vintage Show, we sat on an old style theatre, watching the models from the front row. I loved the intimate yet relaxed atmosphere, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the show… but we’re a bit surprised by the ending though!

Here are a few of my favourite looks and collections –

The Frock Spot showcased some amazing vintage wedding dresses – my favourite was the tea length satin number on the far right – beautiful!

I also fell in love with this exquisite 1950’s evening dress from Retreat Vintage. It was covered in the most beautiful intricate beading.

I should also mention that the Vintage Show had an oriental theme, there were some fantastic oriental style looks on show.

And there were undies! I loved the contrast of lace and rubber – very 50 shades! I’d never heard of Proudlock & Harry before, but they’re a boutique lingerie store on London Street, I’ll definitely be giving them a visit!

burlesque-dancer

And the show ended (rather surprisingly) with a burlesque dancer. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t quite prepared for her. She was literally right in front of me, gyrating and spinning and she was just AMAZING. I was mesmerised! (She had some nice undies on too!) I’m afraid I don’t have the name of this burlesque beauty but I’ll add her link when I find out!

So far we’ve had a fantastic time, there are two more main shows to come next week so keep your eyes peeled for another post! xxx

Wednesday Night at Las Iguanas Norwich…

Posted on November 23, 2014

las-iguanas

Hi Guys!

On Wednesday evening I headed into Norwich to see my friend Brookie, and to visit the city’s brand new restaurant – Las Iguanas!

I’d never heard of Las Iguanas before, but found out they’re part of a chain which has restaurants dotted up and down the county, offering authentic Latin American specialities. The latest branch of Las Iguanas has literally just opened up on 10th November at Riverside in Norwich (next to Nando’s) The extensive menu is designed ‘to bring authentic South America to every table, every day’ and it reflects the diverse mix of Spanish, Portuguese, African and native Latino influences that make up South American culture.

All dishes are cooked freshly to order and Las Iguanas prides itself on using only the freshest, highest quality produce from the best British suppliers, lovingly combined with carefully sourced authentic ingredients from around the world. It sounded right up my street!

Firstly I thought I’d show you a little pre going out selfie! I was planning on wearing my gorgeous new Imany Oriental Print Kimono from Blue Vanilla via EtailPR. I was over the moon when this arrived, it’s such a pretty garment and the colours are super festive which I love! I put it on ready to wear to visit Las Iguanas but decided not to wear in out the end as I had visions of dipping the fringing in my dinner and getting covered in food!! Ha ha! 😀

We arrived at Las Iguanas and were seated. After looking at the amazingly vast menu for quite a while we decided to share three plates of tapas for startes – Calamares – whole baby calamari, sliced & coated in crisp crumb cassava, with creamy aioli. Gambas – massive whole prawns, split & cooked in a garlic, lemon & chilli sauce, served with ciabatta, and Pato Taquito – rich shreds of roast duck & caramelised onion rolled in a flour tortilla & char-grilled, with a spicy cranberry salsa. I can’t even tell you how good these were!

las-iguanas-food

For my main mean I had The Extraordinary Xinxim – (pronounced zin-zim) This was lime chicken in a crayfish & peanut sauce with spring onion & garlic rice & fine green beans. It also came with sweet plantains, I’ve never had them before and now I love them! Brookie had Camaro De Calabaza – which was baked butternut squash with peeled prawns in a mild spiced tomato & melted cheese sauce and served with garlic rice.

las-iguanas-dessert

For dessert I had an amazing chocolate cake and Brookie had some crazy doughnut things with dipping chocolate and caramel. Sorry I don’t have the dessert menu so I can’t show off with the fancy menu names and descriptions for this course! 🙂 By this point we were a bit broken, after the first two courses and three cocktails we were completely stuffed! I actually had to leave some of my amazing dessert which is completely unheard of for me!

I then thought I’d better ‘walk off’ the meal a bit, so I had a wander around and took some photos. The restaurant has been decorated beautifully with vintage and reclaimed finishes, giving the space a wonderful rustic and comfortable feel. The main restaurant is light and airy with shades of coral, sage and mustard, highlighted with vintage Latin wall art and artisan tiling.

We had such a lovely night catching up and gorging ourselves on the fantastic food the restaurant had to offer. I really can’t recommend Las Iguanas enough – the food was amazing, the staff were lovely and the service was spot on. I’ll definitely be going back there soon!

I hope you enjoyed my review! xxx
