Beauty: Real Techniques Powder Bleu Brush Collection #PowderBleu

Posted on August 1, 2017

Hi Guys!

It seems like a really long time since I’ve mentioned Real Techniques on the blog – as in years. Even though I actually use their standard brushes quite frequently, it’s been a while since they’ve launched any products that have caught my eye – so I was really excited when I heard about their brand new Powder Bleu collection…

The Powder Bleu range of brushes have been specifically designed by Real Techniques to apply, blend, buff and set powders without disturbing the make-up underneath. They have the signature Real Techniques long sleek handles, similar to the Bold Metals range, but this time the colour-way is navy blue, bleeding into black for an ombre effect on the brush handles.

You probably wouldn’t have guessed, but this brush collection is in fact based on blue squirrel hair, which is known for its fine filaments, luxurious softness, and flawless powder application. It’s said to be quite rare, and used in only the most expensive makeup brushes. Real Techniques have re-created their own synthetic version of blue squirrel hair with their new FauxBleu™ Technology – they promise their synthetic bristles perform just as well as the real thing.

Starting with the B05 Soft Kabuki Brush (£25.00) – This super large kabuki brush has been designed to buff and blend powders into the skin, anywhere on the face and body. The handle is solid and easy to hold, and the bristles are super soft. Personally for me I find this a little too large for use on the face, but it’s perfect for buffing in both bronzer and highlighter on the neck, chest and shoulders.

Next the Plush Powder Puff (£12.00) – This soft, velvety powder puff has been designed to help tap on just the right amount of powder to set any makeup look. Again this is pretty large, but it’s also flexible so I don’t mind the size. The finish is amazingly soft, almost like velvet, and it does a great job of pressing loose powder into the skin for both baking and setting your makeup.

And now on to the brushes, from left to right above starting with the B03 Soft Complexion Brush (£22.00) – this brush has a domed, soft yet dense head that has been designed specifically to blend and buff powder foundation into skin for buildable, customizable shine-free coverage.

Next the B01 Soft Powder Brush (£22.00) has has a large tapered head and is perfect for applying powder bronzers and highlighters, as well as loose powder foundations and finishing powders. Again as this is quite a large brush, it will work really well on both the face and body.

The B04 Soft Shadow Brush (£15.00) is the only eyeshadow brush in the collection. This is perfect for layering and blending out powder eye shadows. The long soft bristles help to gently spread powder eyeshadow while blending it into the skin for a naturally diffused look. You can also use this brush for applying more detailed powder highlighter to smaller areas of the face such as the brow bone, tip of the nose, or chin.

And lastly the B02 Soft Finishing Brush (£22.00) – this is very much like a mini version of the B01 Soft Powder Brush, but this time with a small tapered head. This brush is perfect for sweeping on powder blush or highlighter without upsetting any product underneath. This brush is just the right size to apply a light cheek contour too.

The Real Techniques Powder Bleu Collection is available now exclusively at Boots.

Beauty: My Thoughts on Beauty Bakerie Products

Posted on July 31, 2017

Hi Guys!

One of the most exciting beauty brands I’ve heard about of late is Beauty Bakerie. If you haven’t heard of this brand, Beauty Bakerie is a US based brand, launched in 2011 by Cashmere Nicole…

I wanted to create a brand that contradicted the popular ‘bad girl’ persona the mainstream was pedaling – to show girls that there’s nothing wrong with upholding a sweet and friendly nature. Life is sure to hand all of us its lemons but I strongly believe it is up to us to change our perspective. I overcame the struggles of teenage parenting, I overcame breast cancer and loss only to arrive to a place of peace. It is the sweetest peace I’ve known. Truly indescribable. This, Beauty Bakerie, is a piece of that peace that I wanted to share with you.

Beauty Bakerie products are available to buy in the UK at ASOS, and I have a whole bundle of them to share with you today –

Starting with the Neapolitan EyesCream Palette (£32.00) – This fab little palette contains twelve warm toned eyeshadows, with seven shimmer shades and five mattes. The shades are mostly neutral, easy to wear colours, but Beauty Bakerie have also included a couple of brights to give eyes a pop of colour. The formula is smooth and really well pigmented, and I love the shades Sliced Almonds and Powdered Sugar especially.

Unfortunately my swatches photo really did not do these shades justice, so if you’d like to see any more photos please just let me know and I’ll take some more pictures 🙂

Next I have the So Icy Illuminator (£27.00) – This cute little ice cream tub contains a super sparkly, glistening powder highlighter. I have to say, though I love the look of the packaging, I don’t think it’s that practical. There is a circle of holes where you dispense the product out, and I just think they’re too big – it got pretty messy when I was trying this out!

The highlighter itself comes in four shades (I have Frosted, which is a light champagne pink) and has a very light powder texture. If you’re a fan of particularly sparkly highlighters, this is definitely worth a try.

I’ve also been trying out a few of Beauty Bakerie’s Liquid Lipsticks. The Metallic Lip Whips (£16.00) have a metallic shimmer finish and are available in 10 colours. (Starting from the top swatch) I have shades Vitamin Sea which is an intense metallic blue, and Berried, a metallic deep wine red. Though these are metallic / shimmer lipsticks, you can see they dry down to a matte finish, which I love. The formula lasts for hours and is both smudge proof and water proof.

I also have four of the standard Lip Whips – the third swatch down is Yoghurt Berries, an intense, creamy fuchsia, next is Fortune Cookie, a warm peach toned beige, next is Swiss Mocha Frappe, a light greige nude, and lastly Bae Cake, a deep sea blue. All these shades have a creamy liquid formula, that dries to a really nice matte finish.

I’m also completely in love with the EyesCream Cream Eyeshadow (£14.50) – This dinky little cream eyeshadow pot gives the most amazingly pigmented finish. I have shade Lick The Spoon, which is a highly metallic cool toned silver. The formula is creamy and easy to apply, and the finish is pretty matte. I found applying this with a finger worked the best for me, but you can also use a brush – and you can also use this as eyeliner. There are nine shades available in all, and I think I definitely need to snap a few more up!

I also have a Gelato To Go Gel Eyeliner (£14.50) – This looks quite similar to the cream eyeshadow in the pot, but this has a much heavier texture. This long lasting gel eyeliner has a smudge proof and waterproof formula, and applies like a dream with a decent eyeliner brush. This will literally last all day too – I love it!

And lastly the Sprinkles Glitter (£9.50) – Even though I’m a massive fan of glitter, this is probably my least favourite out of the bunch. There’s nothing wrong with the glitter at all, I just feel that for £9.50 you’re getting a very small amount of product here – I can’t see anywhere on the packaging where it tells you exactly how much product you’re getting. It’s a small amount though, and for £9.50 you can almost buy 2x NYX Glitter Pots (£5.50 each) which looks to have at least three times as much product (at a guess).

I do however really like the Sprinkles Glue which you need to get the glitter to stick to your face and / or body. It’s a clear glue that comes in a handy little tube with a lip gloss style applicator. Unfortunately this is no longer available on the ASOS site, but you can pick up the NYX Glitter Primer as a fab alternative.

Beauty Bakerie products are available now at ASOS. I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Beauty: MAC Chromat Limited Edition Collection

Posted on July 25, 2017

Hi Guys!

I’m back today with MAC’s latest limited edition collection – and this time they’ve teamed up with American fashion label Chromat. I must admit I had to google who they were… Chromat is based in New York City, formed by Becca McCharen in 2010 their designs draw from Becca’s background in architecture and urban design. Chromat focuses on structural experiments for the human body, and their collaboration with MAC showcases their strong sense of colour and bold aesthetic.

Becca McCharen of Chromat designs for today’s urban visionary, proudly expressing an inclusive stance on gender, tech and athleticism. In association with the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, M·A·C chose Chromat to present its first makeup collection. Complete with Chromat’s architecturally inspired bionic 3D-print packaging, this is the future of assertive beauty.

Starting with the Eyeshadow X 6 Chromat Palette (£25.00) – as soon as I saw this palette I was in love! I just love the contrast of the steely shimmery grey toned shades with the bright, almost neon pops of orange and azure blue. I know this isn’t going to be up everyone’s street, and it’s definitely not an every-day palette, but I think each of these colours will be able to be used in so many different ways to create some fantastic striking looks – how about the grey shades across the lid, with black in the crease and blue under the bottom lashes? I think this would look amazing!

The Eyeshadow X 6 Chromat Palette is a small, hand sized palette featuring six shades – including rich black, pearlescent deep orange, brown with blue/green pearl, vibrant ocean blue, pearlescent navy and metallic gunmetal. If you’re a fan of MAC you’ll probably know their eyeshadows can sometimes be a bit hit and miss, but I was beyond impressed with both the pigmentation and blendability of all of these shades, they really are excellent. The shades are as follows –

  • Sabina Sangre – a deep orange with gold pearl.
  • Duabandita – a brown with blue/green pearl.
  • Structured Satin – a rich black.
  • Mindfiles – a metallic silver with pearl.
  • Triennial Wave – a vibrant ocean blue.
  • Blue Black – a navy blue with blue pearl.

Next the Chromatic Lipstick (£16.50) – This is a special-edition Lipstick available in two hues, each with a different finish. Shade #Shockvalue is a bright aqua blue with an amplified finish, giving it a creamy yet highly pigmented finish. And Augmented Reality is an intense candy red with a long lasting matte finish.

I also have the Chromatic Zoomlash Mascara (£15.50) – This is a special-edition royal blue mascara with a three-sided fibre brush that instantly volumizes and separates lashes. The creamy, velvety formula promises to build density and condition, while feeling light and supple on the lashes, while the ultra-sculpted brush has three-sided fibres to embrace, hold and separate each lash.

Other products in the collection include –

The Chromat Fluidline Eyeliner (£16.50) – A special-edition, long-wearing, bright metallic blue gel liner that applies with a brush for foolproof application. The ultra-smooth gel formula provides the precision of a liquid liner with a silkier, softer finish. Goes on foolproof with a brush in an easy dip-and-stroke action. Long-wearing. Smudge-proof.

The Chromat Technakohl Eyeliner (£14.50) – A mechanical pencil-style liner with a soft and creamy formula in a deep metallic navy shade. Formula is soft and creamy with intense, rich colour. Blends on application. Dries quickly to a long-wearing, no-smudge finish. Versatile. An easy way to line the top and lower lash line of the eye.

And lastly the Chromat Glitter (£16.00) – This is a special-edition Glitter in a sparkling bright turquoise shade, that creates a high-level sparkle effect which can be used on the face, skin and hair.

The MAC Chromat Limited Edition Collection is available now at Mac Cosmetics and Selfridges.

Beauty: NEW Benefit Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer

Posted on July 19, 2017

Hi Guys!

The latest release from Benefit Cosmetics has recently landed at TSNC HQ, and I wanted to share it with you today…

Many (seriously many) years ago, when I was about 18, my first ever experience of higher end, non-drugstore makeup, was at a Benefit counter when I was on holiday in Colchester. After having a makeover and being completely wowed by the products, I made quite a large order. One of my long-time favourite purchases that day very, was the original Boi-ing Concealer.

Benefit have since added a few more products to the Boi-ing range of concealers, including the Boi-ing Hydrating Concealer, and the Boi-ing Brightening Concealer. Today though, the new Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer is what I’m trying out.

Benefit promises their new Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer will cover imperfections with a flawless finish that’s ‘virtually undetectable’. The formula is designed to give a soft-focus, sheer-to-medium coverage finish, whilst feeling lightweight and staying waterproof for up to 10 hours. It all sounds pretty good right?

Ok so the new Boi-ing Airbrush concealer has an expected slightly lighter formula than the original, hence the airbrush name. It also promises to help conceal unevenness, fine lines and undereye circles – which is exactly what I need right now.

Well I’ve tried the Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer a few times now, and I think it’s perfect for those that enjoy the original Boi-ing concealer, but find it a bit too heavy or full coverage for them. As a fan of the original Boi-ing Concealer which I’ve used for many years, I know that what works well for you when you’re 18, isn’t necessarily going to work the same when you’re in your 30’s. Now I’m starting to get fine lines under and around my eyes, I have to be that much more careful when it comes to concealer, as creasing is a REAL problem. The Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer does a great job of covering my dark circles and fine lines, without looking cakey and mask-like.

I thought I’d also just line up and swatch the whole Boi-ing range of concealers so you can see what they look like together for comparison. All four above are in the lightest shades available:

  • Original Boi-ing Industrial Strength Concealer 3.0g (£17.50) – shade 01
  • Boi-ing Hydrating Concealer 3.5g (£17.50) – shade 01
  • Boi-ing Brightening Concealer 4.4g (£17.50) – shade 01
  • Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer 5.0g (£17.50) – shade 01

You can see all the concealers are priced the same at £17.50 each, and even though they all have the same shade name ’01’ the shades definitely vary slightly. The weight of product is different too for each one, so it’s worth bearing this in mind when purchasing.

And in terms of swatches and formula, swatched top to bottom –

  • Original Boi-ing Industrial Strength Concealer – full coverage, heaviest texture.
  • Boi-ing Hydrating Concealer – sheer coverage, lightweight feel.
  • Boi-ing Brightening Concealer – full coverage plus colour correcting.
  • Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer – sheer to medium coverage.

Benefit Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer is available now at Benefit CosmeticsDebenhams and Look Fantastic.

Beauty: NEW Guerlain Terracotta Products for SS17 #FeelTheSunAndFeelGood

Posted on July 12, 2017

Hi Guys!

If you’re a fan of Guerlain makeup and skincare, you’ll no doubt be aware of their famous Terracotta product range. For SS17, Guerlain have added a few fab new products to their Terracotta collection, including new collector’s items, basics and limited editions, that each promise to illuminate skin with a natural golden glow and revive its radiance…

In 2017, Terracotta has been reinvented and Guerlain has created must-have new products that leave us feeling good inside and out all year round, with or without the sun.  A collection offering a host of face and body rituals, allowing every woman to obtain a natural tan whenever she wishes – while waiting for the sun to appear or under its rays; adjust the intensity for made-to-measure colour; and choose a matte or shimmer finish.

Starting with Terracotta Jolies Jambes (£45.00) – literally meaning ‘pretty legs’, this is Guerlain’s first perfecting and blurring tinted fluid especially for legs. I’d describe the formula as a medium weight fluid, which gives the coverage of a light foundation. Shade Clair / Light which I have gives pale legs a beautiful natural looking glow, whilst instantly blurring away minor blemishes and skin imperfections. The idea kind of reminds me of Sally Hansen’s Airbrush Legs (which is a spray) – this however is a cream, and it has the most beautiful summery scent with notes of Vanilla and Tiare Flower – it really is gorgeous! The formula also resists sweat and rubbing and is transfer-proof, and to remove, you simply wash it away in the shower with soap.

For the body, I also have the Terracotta Nourishing Dry Oil (£41.50) – this is a lightweight dry oil for the face, body and hair. Again with the lovely Tiare Flower scent, the Terracotta Nourishing Dry Oil is enriched with Sweet Almond, Camelina and Limnanthus Seed Oil to soothe, protect and nourish skin, as well as a Tan Booster Complex to prepare and enhance the skin’s natural tan. Ideal for all skin types, the Guerlain Terracotta Nourishing Dry Oil promises to cocoon skin in intense nourishment.

Guerlain advises to apply a few drops to the face and body to give a satiny finish, or after sun exposure to enhance the skin’s natural tan. Or to use on hair, apply to the lengths for a wet-hair effect, or as a mask for intense nourishment.

I also have a couple of new Terracotta makeup products. For SS17, Guerlain has improved the formula of their limited edition Terracotta Sun Tonic Bronzing Powder (£36.50) so it’s now waterproof – meaning there’s no need to worry about your bronzer wearing off this summer. The delicately milled formulation creates an ultra-fine film to give skin a flawless finish, providing your complexion with long-lasting comfort and moisture, and it’s also been enriched with a Tan Booster Complex, to activate, boost and prolong your tan. I have shade 03 Natural Brunettes which is slightly too dark for my super fair complexion, but would be perfect for those with a light to medium skin tone.

And lastly, I have one of the new Kiss Kiss Shaping Cream Lip Colours (£27.50). Two bold new hues have been introduced to the KissKiss range for SS17, including 567 Pink Sunrise, a romantic rosy red, and 542 Orange Peps which is an intense bright orange shade.

The limited edition Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick shades promise to dress the lips in bold, comfortable colour thanks to its satin-finish and non-drying texture. These lipsticks are enriched with plumping Hyaluronic Acid Spheres and Mango Butter, to immediately smooth and nourish, for a perfected lip look.

Personally, I’m a big fan of bright lipstick shades for summer, any bright oranges or hot pinks will always look good with a tan, so this intense orange shade is the perfect addition to your SS17 lipstick wardrobe.

Guerlain’s Terracotta range is available now at Debenhams and House of Fraser.

Beauty: Liz Earle Skincare on Trial

Posted on July 10, 2017

Hi Guys!

I’ve been trying out a few products from Liz Earle over the last couple of weeks, and wanted to give you the low down today and let you know how I’ve been getting on with them. My skin is pretty dry and can often be sensitive, which means I have to be a bit careful when it comes to trying out new skincare products – if you have sensitive skin you’ll know what I mean! I’ve been trying out a new limited edition Cleanse & Polish, a Moisturiser for sensitive skin, and a few other skincare products. Read on to find out my thoughts…

Starting with the Cleanse & Polish Grapefruit & Patchouli (£22.75 for 150ml including 2x cotton cloths) – Liz Earle’s classic Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser has been revamped into a fab limited edition for summer 2017. This new Grapefruit & Patchouli version is just the same as the original in terms of formula, but this is fragranced with an invigorating blend of zesty grapefruit and woody patchouli essential oils.

If you’re not familiar with Cleanse & Polish, this cult product is a thick, rich cream that does a fantastic job of removing dirt, grease and makeup from the skin, leaving your complexion feeling fresh and clean. It’s actually been quite a few years since I last use the original Cleanse & Polish, so I was looking forward to trying out this new scented version. Firstly, I have to say it smells heavenly! And after massaging into the skin, it really does deep cleanse and remove all traces of makeup, as well as lightly exfoliating – leaving skin feeling fresh, clear and bright.

The Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer (£14.75) is up next. This toner has a light floral fragrance, and contains naturally active ingredients including Aloe Vera to revitalise and soften and Calendula, Chamomile, Cucumber and Vitamin E to soothe and refresh the skin. You can use it directly after the Cleanse & Polish to soothe the skin, or just spritz over both face and body and time of day to refresh and revitalize.

I’ve also been trying the Superskin Moisturiser (£39.00 for 50ml) – I went with the unfragranced version for sensitive skin, which contains Cranberry, Borage and Rosehip Seed oils. I’ve been using this after the above Skin Tonic Toner, massaging into my face and neck, and I have to say my skin has been feeling fantastic!

Liz Earle have advised for optimal results to follow the specific facial massage techniques below. This should help clear toxins, reduce puffiness, boost circulation and aid lymphatic drainage:

Step 1: Apply to face with upward and outward movements using firm pressure.

Step 2: With your fingertips, lightly smooth in an outward circular direction along the cheekbones to above the eyebrows.

Step 3: Using the thumb and ring finger, gently pinch along the brow bone from the nose to the outer edge of the brow.

Step 4: Finish by gently sweeping your hands up the neck and over the décolletage.

For the body, I have the SuperSkin Dry Body Oil (£35.00 for 100ml) – I’m a big fan of skin oils, so this fast absorbing dry body oil sounded right up my street! The SuperSkin Dry Body Oil has been formulated with Liz Earle’s botanical blend of Cranberry, Borage and Rosehip Seed oils to visibly smooth, nourish and revitalise the skin. The oil itself if super lightweight, and I find it works well right after showering. It absorbs really quickly, leaving the skin feeling soft, supple and lightly scented.

And lastly the Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion (from £7.50 for 50ml) – as someone that suffers daily with dry, puffy and tired eyes, I was most excited about trying this product. The Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion promises to instantly revitalise and refresh tired and puffy eyes, and it contains Witch Hazel, Aloe Vera and Cornflower to cool and soothe the delicate eye area.

I have to say I was expecting a creamy lotion, but the formula is actually very thin and wet – just like water. You simply need to apply some product to a cotton wool pad (how much you use is up to you) and sweep lightly over the eyelids – or you can also soak two pads in the product and leave on for up to 10 minutes, for a revitalising, soothing compress.

I’ve used this a few times now, and it really does feel lovely and refreshing on the eye area – I’ve also found that keeping the bottle in the fridge works wonders as the liquid feels extra cool and soothing when you apply it. If you suffer from puffy eyes like I do, this is definitely one to try.

Overall I’m really impressed with all the products I’ve been trying out – the new limited edition Cleanse & Polish is a lovely revamp of a classic product, the SuperSkin Unscented Moisturiser is a fantastic every day moisturiser for sensitive skin especially, and the EyeBright Lotion really did work wonders to relieve my tired eyes.

I’d love to hear which Liz Earle products you use and enjoy? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Heatwave! All The Beauty Products You Need Right Now…

Posted on July 7, 2017

Hi Guys!

The warm weather has finally hit the UK, and being British, of course we just don’t know what to do with ourselves – well personally I don’t function so well in the heat, so I’ve been hiding indoors wherever possible! Today, I’ve put together a few products, aiming to help you fight the frizz with your hair, keep skin cool, and prevent makeup from sliding down your face…

So starting from the top, for hair protection I have the Phytoplage Original Protective Sun Oil (£17.00 at John Bell & Croyden) – this is a luxurious hair oil that’s perfect for protecting dry and damaged hair that has been weakened by the effects of sun exposure. It includes a natural UV filter and nourishes and moistures the hair so becomes soft and supple.

And the Phytoplage Huile Protective Sun Veil (£16.00 at John Bell & Croyden) – for those with normal to dry hair, the Protective Sun Veil offers an invisible UV filter including Sunflower Extract, Illipe Extract, White Lotus Extract and Sweet Almond to protect, hydrate and nourish hair.

If the dreaded summer frizz is a problem for you, Kerasilk have some fantastic products that can help. The Kerasilk Control De-Frizz Primer (£21.50 at Goodwill Salons) is packed with Keratin and Liquid Silk to instantly tame frizz & flyaway’s whilst working to protect against heat & humidity. And the Kerasilk Control Humidity Barrier Spray (£21.50 at Goldwell Salons) – shields styled hair from high humidity to block frizz, whilst giving a shiny, weightless finish.

Onto skincare now, the RMK Skintuner Cooling Gel – (£32.00 at Selfridges) is perfect for calming and refreshing the skin. It has a light gel formula that melts into the skin, absorbing quickly and leaving a smooth finish, without any stickiness. It contains extracts of Citrus and Bilberry, which permeate the skin, protecting against dryness, whilst helping to retain moisture.

For a cheaper alternative, the L’Oreal Hydra Genuis Moisturiser for Sensitive Skin (£9.99 at Boots) is a fantastic affordable moisturiser. Inspired by Asian skincare, Hydra Genuis promises to deliver pure moisture that penetrates quickly, deeply and continuously, without overloading the skin. It contains Aloe Vera Sap and Hyaluronic Acid to instantly refresh the skin and lock in moisture. This has a very similar texture to the above Skintuner Cooling Gel, and also promises to release continuous hydration for up to 72 hours.

I’ve also been loving the Uriage Eau Thermale Water (£8.50 at John Bell & Croyden) – this is a skincare water that you just spritz on your face whenever you want a cooling and refreshing hit. The formula contains trace elements and Mineral Salts, to moisturise, and it helps to sooth sensitive skin thanks to its high content of Calcium and Magnesium Salts.

And lastly the Bioderma Photoderm Bronz SPF50 Invisible Mist (£24.00 at John Bell & Croyden) – I have to say it really doesnt get better than this for sun protection. This invisible mist for face and body offers super high SPF50 protection combined with a 100% transparent, non oily and non sticky texture. It’s also alcohol free, doesnt dry the skin and helps to prolong your tan – what more could you need?

For makeup, the Cover FX Custom Blot Drops (£34.00 at Space NK) – are definitely worth a shot if you suffer with oily skin. These matifying drops work to control excess oil, reduce shine and clear pores. They also contain light diffusing particles to reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores whilst Chamomile Extract soothes and tones the skins texture for a flawless matte finish. You can either apply the product direct to the skin, or mix in with your foundation or moisturiser to customise results.

I also have the Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder (£13.50 at Boots) – this super lightweight, translucent setting powder is perfect for locking makeup in place, and offers a smudge and water resistant finish for up to 16 hours. It has a microfine texture that is translucent upon application, meaning it doesn’t affect the colour of your foundation, and gives a velvety matte, natural looking finish.

Clarins also have a few new products that are perfect for combatting the hot weather. The Clarins Pore Perfecting Matifying Foundation (£28.00 at Clarins) – this foundation has a matte finish and acts like an ‘imperfection eraser’ by smoothing out fine lines and pores with its micro-beads made from Acacia Gum. It promises to leave skin refreshed, smooth and comfortable.

And I love the Clarins Pore Perfecting Matifying Kit (£33.00 at Clarins) – this super handy little kit contains everything you need to smooth and mattify your skin on the go. The palette opens to reveal a transparent pressed powder to smooth the skin and mask pores, as well as refillable mattifying papers to instantly absorb shine. This kit is definitely handy to keep in your handbag over the summer months.

I’d love to hear which beauty products you rely on when the weather heats up? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx
