This fragrance is perfect for fans of more intense, captivating evening scents.

Next I have Coach Floral EDP (from £35.00 for 30ml) – Inspired by the signature tea roses that appear on the brand’s leather bags and accessories, Coach Floral EDP is an uplifting fruity floral scent opening with splashes of zesty Citrus and icy Pineapple Sorbet, and a touch of effervescent Pink Peppercorn. The floral heart of Rose Tea, Jasmine Sambac and Gardenia leads to a soft dry down of Crystal Musks, Creamy Wood and Patchouli Essence Indonesia.

In the same vein, I also have Jimmy Choo Blossom Special Edition EDP (From £36.00 for 40ml) – If you’re ever not sure about buying a fragrance for somebody else, Jimmy Choo scents are always a winner. The latest in the Jimmy Choo line is Blossom Special Edition EDP, a bright, joyful and sparkling scent, perfect for the coming spring.

This tropical fragrance opens with a sweet accord of Exotic Fruits, drenching the creamy facets of Frangipani Flower at the heart. As the fragrance develops, deep facets of warming Sandalwood glow in the base for a dry down that is delicious from top to bottom.

And Versace Pour Femme Dylan Blue (£98.50 for 100ml) – evoking Greek culture and mythology, the Pour Femme Dylan Blue bottle is reminiscent of a Greek amphora (storage vessel) Donatella versace created this scent as an ode to femininity – a strong, sensuous yet refined fragrance for a woman who knows her own power.

Valentine’s Gift Guide for Him

Posted on February 12, 2017

Hi Guys!

With only two days left till Valentine’s day, I thought I’d share a quick gift guide for him in case you were in need of some last minute gift inspiration! I always find it’s difficult to choose gifts for my other half, so I’ve gathered together a few ideas together, including plenty of fragrances, a cocktail kit, and something a little more unusual. I hope you enjoy x

Starting with two fragrances from Versace – Versace Dylan Blue EDT (From £40.00 for 30ml at House of Fraser) is a striking, masculine scent, that (in my opinion) would suit an older or sophisticated gent. Though I say this, Dylan Blue is still a modern fragrance – intense and charismatic, it opens with citrus notes of bergamot and grapefruit, intertwined with nuances of fig leaf and aquatic notes. In the heart, violet leaves and black pepper mingle with aromatic and woody tones, and the base is a combination of musk, tonka bean, saffron and incense.

  • Top Notes: Calabrian Bergamot, Grapefruit, Fig Leaves and Aquatic Notes.
  • Heart Notes: Violet Leaves, Black Pepper, Papyrus Wood, Ambrox and Patchouli.
  • Base Notes: Mineral Musk, Tonka Bean, Saffron and Pyrogéné Incense.

In contrast, Versace Eros EDT (From £52.00 for 50ml at House of Fraser) to me is a more youthful fragrance. Inspired by Eros, the god of love from ancient Greek mythology, Versace Eros EDT is an intensely refreshing, luminous yet sensual fragrance. With top notes of mint, citrus and crisp apple peel, the fragrance opens with a luminous and fresh impact. The heart of tonka bean and ambroxan creates an intriguing oriental signature, and Madagascan vanilla gives a hint of creaminess, while greenery in the form of oakmoss and cedarwood round off the sensual base.

  • Top Notes: Mint Oil, Italian Lemon Zest and Green Apple.
  • Heart Notes: Tonka Bean, Ambroxan and Geranium Flower.
  • Base Notes: Madagascan Vanilla, Oak Moss and Cedarwood.

Another fantastic male scent is Mr Burberry EDT (From £40.00 for 30ml at House of Fraser) – described as classic yet contemporary; sophisticated and sensual, Mr Burberry captures the essence of London and its moments. Fusing classic scents of British perfumery with unexpected ingredients, it boasts fresh and crafted top notes of crisp zesty grapefruit, cut with a seductive base of earthy vetiver and smokey guaiac wood.

  • Top Notes: Zesty Grapefruit.
  • Base Notes: Vetiver and Guaiac Wood.

Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 & Escentric 01 (From £65.50 for 100ml at Cult Beauty)

If you haven’t heard of Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 fragrance, it’s definitely one to try whether you’re male or female. Interestingly, rather than having a traditional layering of top, heart and base notes, Molecule 01 is created solely from the aroma-chemical Iso E Super, which is traditionally a base note that adds the feeling of allure to a scent. The idea is that this works as more of an effect than an actual scented fragrance. It has a very subtle, velvety, woody note which blends with your natural pheromones, and it’s worth noting that you will rarely smell this fragrance on yourself. Molecule 01 is more about the effect it has on others.

And there’s also Escentric 01, which uses the same chemical Iso E Super, but unlike Molecule 01, this fragrance also includes notes of Pink pepper, Lime Peel, and Balsamic notes like Benzoin, Mastic and Orris Incense. Moving away from the traditional fragrance journey through top, heart and base notes, Escentric 01 moves quickly from top to bottom, eventually lingering on a sensual, woody musky finale.

Pall Mall Barbers Sandalwood and Clove Shave Oil (£22.00 at Pall Mall Barbers) – everyone and their dad has a beard right now, so I felt a Shave Oil would be very fitting for this guide. Pall Mall Barbers Sandalwood and Clove Shave Oil has been formulated with Sweet Almond and Jojoba oils, to soften stubble whilst protecting sensitive skin, this product adds an additional protective barrier between the skin and the razor blade, enabling a smoother glide, a closer shave and a more precise finish.

Ferrari Fragrance iPhone Cover (£30.00 at Boots) – ok so this is a bit of a strange one, I think you’ll either think this is a great idea or you just won’t. So Ferrari Fragrance have created an iPhone cover, but it’s also a cologne! The cover fits the iPhone 6 and 6s and contains 25ml of Ferrari Black or Ferrari Red EDT inside, so you can spritz and refresh your fragrance when you’re on the go. I think it’s a pretty cool idea! Plus you get an extra 25ml refill included in the box, which is handy. What do you think? Is this a hit or a miss?

And lastly, this Cocktail Tool Set (£29.99 at Find Me A Gift) – I always think a cocktail set isn’t really something you’d really buy yourself, but it’s definitely a handy thing to have. This set contains a stainless steel cocktail shaker, a stirrer, double jigger, a strainer and ice tongs, all displayed in a beech wooden stand – and there’s also a handy recipe booklet included too to give you some ideas – all you need to do is buy the drinks and get some friends over!

I hope you enjoyed my post, and have a wonderful Valentine’s day whatever you do xxx

Fragrance: Versace Eros Pour Femme EDT

versace-eros-pour-femme-edt-review

Hi Guys!

It’s been just over two years since the release of Versace’s original Eros Pour Femme EDP, and for summer 2016 they’re following up with a lighter and brighter EDT version of the fragrance…

The primal power of a woman, captured in a radiant, sensual essence. A new legend from Versace, bursting with the passion of when Eros meets his true love, Pour Femme – but who’s seducing who? An invitation to surrender to desire, and to take control of life’s unstoppable forces. A fragrance of strength, individuality, and seduction, from Artistic Director Donatella Versace.

Eros Pour Femme EDT is a refreshed and revived, lighter version of the original EDP, yet still retains the sensual element found in the original. It’s far more fresher and way more citrus than I was expecting, which was a lovely surprise as I’m a big fan of citrusy scents. The top notes of Sicilian Lemon and Mandarin are wonderfully summery and bright, and the heart of heady floral petals of Freesia and Magnolia brings a feminine element to the scent, leading to a base of White Patchouli and bright notes of Wood, as well as Ambrox and Musk for depth and sensuality.

The fragrance is also available in a Luxury Body Lotion, Luxury Bath & Shower gel and Perfumed Deoderant – so fans of the scent can literally cover themselves head to toe! This really is a gorgeous fragrance, perfect for balmy Summer evenings – a definite must-try!

  • Top Notes: Sicilian Lemon & Mandarin, Raspberry Sorbet and White Curant.
  • Heart Notes: Freesia, Magnolia, Orange Blossom Absolute and Jasmine.
  • Base Notes: White Patchouli, Woods, Musk and Ambrox.

Versace Eros Pour Femme EDP is from £42.00 for 30ml, and will be available nationwide from July 11th 2016.

Hi Guys!

It’s a particularly happy Tuesday today because I have a stunning perfume to share with you, and also one to give away! Woo hoo! Versace Eros Pour Femme has just launched in House of Fraser yesterday, and I was literally like a kid in a candy shop when the sample arrived with me last week. Just look at the bottle! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a perfume bottle as beautiful as this – featuring Versace’s signature Medusa head in relief and a Greek key motif around the edges, this stunning high shine bottle would just look gorgeous on any dressing table.

So what’s the fragrance about?

Well the Eros fragrance is nothing new. The mens’ version has been around since 2012, and finally Versace has got around to launching the new Eros Pour Femme. If you’re not into Greek mythology, Eros is actually the God of love, ‘…and the goal of the Eros Pour Femme campaign was to present that Eros was seduced and to suggest the strength of a woman’ stated Donatella Versace. The faces of the campaign are Brian Shimansky and the gorgeous Lara Stone – what a beaut!

And what does it smell like?

Well it smells gorgeous! Eros Pour Femme includes top notes of lemon, bergamot and pomegranate, middle notes of jasmine, peony and lemon flower, and base notes of ambrox, sandalwood and musk. It opens with beautiful and bright Sicilian lemon, Calabrian bergamot and pomegranate accords, with a heart of lemon, sambac jasmine absolute, jasmine infusion and velvety peony. The base incorporates sandalwood, mysterious ambrox, musk and various sensuous woody notes. I love this perfume, it’s definitely one I’ll be purchasing again and again.

To celebrate the launch of Versace Eros Pour Femme, House of Fraser have kindly provided a 30ml bottle of this gorgeous fragrance for me to give away, so please do enter via the Rafflecopter widget below! The giveaway will run for two weeks and is open internationally, and of course if you have any questions please do get in touch. Good luck! xxx
