Hi Guys!

When you think of perfumes, Yves Rocher may not be the brand the first springs to mind, even though they are the number one selling beauty brand in France, they are still becoming established here in the UK. Yves Rocher sell everything from cosmetics, to haircare, bath and body products, to skincare and sun creams to slimming products.

They have also created a vast array of fragrances, and I have five of their most popular scents to share with you today…

Vanille Noire – Vanille Noire is a beautiful scent based on the three most attractive qualities of vanillawhich unveil a treasure trove of nuances and subtleties on your skin: – the sensual, leathery notes of Vanilla Bourbon Absolute, sweet and floral Tahitian Vanilla Absolute, and Ugandan Vanilla Absolute with its spicy, woody character. This is a lovely light, fresh woody scent that would be great for day or evening.

Vanille Noir 50ml is currently £24.50 with a massive 50% discount.

Flowerparty By Night – Flowerparty By Night reinterprets the original fragrance with a daring touch. This spicy night time version, with an ultra addictive licorice accent reveals a bold seductiveness. An irresistible fruity floral with signature notes of addictive flavours. It’s botanical based ingredients include bitter almond essential oil, star anise and bourbon vanilla absolute extracts.

Flowerparty 50ml is currently £19 with a massive 50% discount.

Quelques Notes d’Amour – This wonderfully romantic scent combines top notes of bergamot and red pepper, middle notes of damask rose, patchouli, guaiac wood and base notes of benzoin, cedarwood, amyris wood to create a beautiful scent that is evocative of beauty, love and romance. This is what falling in love smells like 🙂

Quelques Notes d’Amour 50ml is currently £27.50 with a 45% discount.

So Elixir Purple – This is an old favourite of mine, and my first experience with Yves Rocher fragrances. So Elixir Purple contains top notes of bergamot, middle notes of tuberose and vetiver and base notes of benzoi, vanilla, tanka bean, frankincense, patchouli and woods. It’s an easy to wear but slightly unusual scent, which I love! So Elixir Purple is floral, woody, seductive and unique.

So Elixir Purple is currently £24.50 with a massive 50% discount.

Comme Une Evidence – Comme Une Evidence is a very clean and floral scent, perfect for the girly girl. It contains top notes of bergamot and violet leaves, middles notes of rose, jasmine and wild lily of the valley, and base notes of patchouli. The description for the Yves Rocher site describes the scent perfectly – ‘There are times when everything is clear and simple, when everything around you exudes harmony and amplitude… These moments have their fragrance: Comme une Evidence… Clear, harmonious, essential and profound, it enfolds you in utter well-being. It all begins with the tender green emotion of slightly crumpled violet leaves. Then, rose, jasmine and wild lily of the valley blossom easily into the soft caress of an oh, so feminine floral heart. The whole rests on a carpet of moss and patchouli, like a soothing shadow. A sensation of sweet harmony, a very special moment.’

Comme Une Evidence is currently £16.50 with a massive 50% discount.

If you’re looking to purchase fragrances this Christmas, you should definitely consider Yves Rocher – they have some stunning fragrances with fantastic discounts at the moment, make sure you snap them up while you can!

My Top Five Red Lipsticks for Christmas!

Posted on December 14, 2014

red-lipsticks

Hi Guys!

We’re now officially counting down to Christmas, and I decided it’s about time I bust out the red lippy! Red shades are notoriously difficult to wear – some people don’t think reds should be worn in the day time, and some are scared of red all together. I say if you fancy wearing bright red lipstick, GET IT ON! If you want to wear purple, green or blue lipstick, just do it! I’m all for bright colours! In the spirit of the season though, I thought I’d get together my favourite red lip shades to share with you…

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl, £18.00. NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils are an old favourite of mine, and I think this was actually the first ever NARS product I bought. The Velvet Matte formula name says it all, these pencils give a perfect matte look with a comfortable, velvet finish. They’re definitely my favourite matte lip product. Dragon Girl is similar to Annabella below but ever so slightly less bright, and slightly more pink toned.

NARS Audacious Lipstick in Annabella, £24.00. The NARS Audacious lipsticks are simply fantastic, I have a few of them now and I really don’t have a bad word to say about any of them (except for the £24 price tag, eek!) Annabella is the truest of reds that I own, it’s a perfect intense red shade that really does make your teeth look whiter! Take a look here to see what I mean 😀

MAC Pedro Lourenco Limited Edition Lipstick in True Red, £16.50. As soon as I saw the Pedro Lourenco collection I knew I had to get my hands on the lip products! True Red is a bright orange-red that’s not for the faint hearted. It comes in an amplified finish, so the formula is super creamy, highly pigmented and long wearing. I love this shade!

Yves Rocher Moisturising Cream Lipstick in Orange Muscade, £7.50. Yves Rocher’s Moisturising Cream formula gives their lipsticks a beautiful hydrating creme finish, that is super smooth and comfortable to wear. Orange Muscade is a semi sheer tomato orange, that’s great for a hint of colour to brighten the complexion. If you’re a bit scared of a full on red, I’d recommend giving this a go.

Lord & Berry Vogue Lipstick in Rebel, £13.00. This is a new addition to my collection, and my first experience of Lord & Berry lipsticks. The Vogue lipsticks apparently have a ‘matte formulation with a velvet feeling and extreme comfort in application’. The Rebel shade is a deep brownish red, I’d say it’s quite a 90’s colour if you know what I mean. It definitely doesn’t have a matte finish though, it’s more of a creamy satin, but I’m definitely not disappointed. I love this Rebel shade for winter, it’s deep and richly pigmented and a great alternative to a bright red.

I’d love to hear what your favourite red lipstick is? I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx

Yves Rocher So Elixir Purple EDP Review

Posted on April 15, 2014

yves rocher purple perfume

Hi Guys!

Today’s post is about a fab new perfume I’ve recently discovered – Yves Rocher So Elixir Purple, from Baobella. Now I’ve only recently heard of Yves Rocher, they are a French brand who have been voted the number one beauty care brand in France. So their products should be pretty good!

The So Elixir Purple EDP is described as ‘an incredibly feminine, floral-woody elixir’ – ooh err! And it is surprisingly very nice! I say surprisingly simply because I am notoriously fussy when it comes to perfumes – I would go as far as saying I’m a bit of a perfume snob – just any old EDT off the shelf will not do! So I was very pleasantly surprised with this one – the fragrance has notes of tuberose, bergamot, patchouli, benzoin extract, and vetiver essential oils, which are an amazing combination. The lovely thing about this fragrance is it has a ‘seductive’ evening element, but it’s not too heavy or overpowering so it’s great for day time too. This is now my new everyday go-to fragrance!

I’d love to hear if you’ve tried this perfume? Or any other Yves Rocher products? xxx
