New Sunglasses from Vision Direct! #MyFaceShapeIs

vision-direct-sunglasses

Hi Guys!

When it comes to accessories, sunglasses are definitely up there with bags and shoes for me. I have countless pairs of sunglasses and I pretty much never leave the house without at least one pair on me unless it’s raining!

I’ve teamed up with Vision Direct today show you my gorgeous new sunglasses which they kindly sent over, as well as let you know how quick and easy it is now to choose the best sunglasses for your face shape.

So let’s start by taking a look at my fab new sunnies! 🙂

I have the American Freshman AFS019 Cateye Sunglasses, which are now in the Vision Direct sale for a very reasonable £23.99 – what a bargain! These have a gorgeous wearable cat eye shape, with large style lenses that have a nice subtle gradient to them. The sunglasses also have a fun design on the inside of the arms which is quite unusual.

So how did I choose these? Well my face shape is oval / long so I always go for style such as a cat eye which helps to give width to my face. To find the best sunglasses for your own face shape though, Vision Direct have you covered – just go to they handy post where you start by selecting your face shape, then skin colour and hair colour, and they will show you which sunglasses are best suited to you – easy! It’s also worth mentioning there’s a 20% off discount code included in their sunglasses finder post too, so definitely check it out!

I hope you enjoyed my post, and don’t forget to check out the hashtag #myfaceshapeis on Instagram and Twitter 🙂

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Hi Guys!

Sweet baby Jesus, I’ve just seen some images from H&M’s new designer collaboration with Balmain, and just WOW. This collection really is EVERYTHING. As expected of Balmain, it’s full of statement trophy mini dresses, intricate detailing and beautiful patterns. The entire collection contains at least 50 pieces (so I’ve heard) including clothing, bags, shoes and jewellery, for both men and women.

I just can’t get over how amazing this collection looks. It’s released on November 5th and I imagine it will sell out in seconds, so you’ll need to be quick to snap some of these beauties up!

I’ve included some of my top picks below, fingers crossed I’ll be able to grab something before they sell out – enjoy!

My Autumn Fashion Wishlist

Posted on September 22, 2015

autumn fashion wishlist

Hi Guys!

Did you know Autumn is officially upon us as of tomorrow? (according to Google anyway) It’s suddenly turned super cold here, resulting in me living in jogging bottoms, my other half’s chunky socks and my red blanket – what a great look hey!

Because of the sudden cold turn in the weather, I’ve also been considering what to update in my wardrobe. On one hand I want to wait till I’ve lost more weight before buying anything new, but on the other hand I love A/W fashion and I JUST WANT TO BUY ALL THE THINGS!

So, out with my beloved yet flimsy (only because they’re made of fabric) Schuh flats I’ve been loving all summer, and in with some sturdy shoes and boots I think! I also really want to get a cape or a wrap of some sort. I’m not sure which though yet, but I think worn right they can look really smart and chic.

Sticking with a seasonal palette of browns, greys and neutrals – with some gold jewellery of course, I’ve put together my top Autumn picks from some of my favourite fashion stores –

  1. Avelon Skinny Fit Trousers from Farfetch
  2. Chronicle Ring Set from Nasty Gal
  3. Givenchy Three Row Bracelet from Selfridges
  4. Vivien Westwood Primrose Zip Tote Bag from Daniel Footwear
  5. Moschino Bear Earrings from Selfridges
  6. Label Lab Lightweight Side Split Dress from House of Fraser
  7. Roll Neck Poncho from Esprit
  8. Matisse Nugent Ponyhair Ankle Boot from Nasty Gal

I’d love to hear if any of these take your fancy?

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

5 Things You Could Buy For The Price of a Louboutin Lipstick

Posted on September 2, 2015

louboutin lipsticks

Hi Guys!

If you’re into fancy schmancy, ridiculously beautiful and ahem, expensive beauty products, you’ve probably heard about the much anticipated Christian Louboutin Lipsticks – which have just launched yesterday at Selfridges.

Following on from Christian Louboutin’s nail polish launch last year, his new lipstick collection includes 36 shades in three unique textures – opulent Silky Satin, luminous Sheer Voile and rich Velvet Matte – all wrapped up in a stunning jewel-like case.

At an eye-watering and purse-clenching price of £60 each, they aren’t cheap by anyone standards… but I still really want one! That said, if you can think of any higher priced lipsticks that aren’t a limited edition, (for research purposes of course) please do let me know!louboutin lipstick packagingJust look at them though… (insert heart eyed emojis here) So, while I’ve been lusting away after these beauties telling myself I DO NOT NEED A £60 LIPSTICK, that I know I won’t actually use as I won’t want to ‘ruin’ it, I’ve been thinking of what other gorgeous goodies could I could pick up for the same price as a Loubie lippie…

ted baker Rhianna Technicolour Bloom Tshirt

This gorgeous Rhianna Technicolour Bloom Tshirt from Ted Baker has recently caught my eye. I love the look and style of Ted Baker clothing, but have never actually bought anything, mostly due to the price but also because they don’t cater for my size now. I love their digital prints, and this floral t-shirt is just so pretty. It’ll definitely be on my post weight-loss wish list!

Daisy Dixon Rose Gold Kate Watch

You know I have a thing about rose gold, well this Daisy Dixon Rose Gold Kate Watch from ASOS is also on my wish list. I don’t need another watch – and who actually uses watches these days as anything other than an accessory? Long gone are the days where we would check our wrists to find out the time, watches are more about fashion than function now. So this is definitely not a necessity, but it’s still on my want list none the less.

diptyque la redoute candle

And what about this stunning Diptyque La Redoute Candle from Liberty? If I had the money, I really could manage to spend silly money on candles, but as it stands I’ll stick with my affordable favourites from Yankee and Flamingo! This beauty from Diptyque is just so pretty though, with a striking black and white marbled effect, it would be perfect to accessory for any home. The scent of the candle is spicy and floral, but I must admit, I haven’t actually tried it myself, if you’ve tried this candle and you’d recommend it please do let me know!

marc jacobs daisy dream

I couldn’t complete this list without a perfume, could I? I absolutely love Daisy Dream Forever by Marc Jacobs, and this is one of the few fragrances I really love that I don’t actually own.

kate spade cedar street slim bee bag

And lastly, what about this sweet, classic Cedar Street Slim Bee Purse from Kate Spade? I have my eye on most things on the Kate Spade site right now, but this super sweet wallet just ticks all the boxes for me. It’s simple and sophisticated whilst being affordable – what’s not to love?

So I guess the question is, would I rather fork out £60 for a Loubie lippie, or would I rather have one of these lovely things instead. I’m completely undecided! What would you do?

Summer Brights Wish List!

Posted on July 24, 2015

summer brights wish list

Hi Guys!

At the moment, I just can’t get enough of anything that’s bright, cute and kitsch. If it falls under the category of neon or novelty, I WANT IT. I need it in my life! I really feel like I’m clinging onto the summer with all my might – the weather is still hot and muggy, but unfortunately the sun seems to have ‘done one’ of late. And though I’ve been trying to be good when it comes to spending, I have actually been buying a few things recently… some beauty bits from some blog sales (all will be revealed soon) and some awesome new stationery from the US, which definitely falls under the cute and kitsch category! Hopefully my delivery will arrive soon so I can show you what I bought (and they’re all completely necessary, important things of course)

Is it just me or does anyone else spend a lot of time, and I mean A LOT, window shopping online, filling your virtual baskets with hundreds and sometimes thousands of pounds of gorgeous goodies, just to take things out of said bag one by one to try to make it affordable? Then realising you shouldn’t really be buying anything anyway, and you should really be doing the washing up / hoovering / dusting / insert relevant chore, rather than browsing thing you can’t afford?

Yeah I spend a lot of time doing that, hence my latest wish list! I’ve included some fantastic bargains, as well as a couple of more expensive items – well it is a ‘wish list’ after all! I hope you like!

  • Kitty High Top Sneakers from ShopJeen
  • Rib Cage Cuff 70mm from Cooee
  • Chiara Ferragni Glitter Pop ‘n Dog Slip-On Sneaker from Nasty Gal
  • Skinnydip Pineapple Juice Across Body Bag from ASOS
  • Cropped Stretch Cotton Trousers from Esprit
  • Geo Transparent Strap Watch from ASOS
  • Blue Tropical Print Ruch Side Mini Skirt from New Look
  • IRO Ashville Jacket in Coral from Trilogy Stores
  • Only Child Kaleido Crystal Ring from ASOS
  • Far Out Tie Dye Halter Top from ShopJeen

If you can recommend any other stores for similar goodies that I might like, please do leave me a comment and let me know!

ASOS Accessories Sale Haul!

Posted on July 1, 2015

asos-sale-picks

Hi Guys!

Ooh I do love a good bargain, and I’m pretty much guaranteed to grab something from ASOS’s regular sales every single time. They have SO MANY things on offer, from fashion, to accessories, to gifts to stationery (I actually just picked up some gorgeous stationery bits the other day!)

I’ve been part of Access All ASOS for a while now and they’ve kindly given me a £50 voucher to shop the sale – woo hoo! £50 isn’t really that much to go shopping with these days, but when there’s a sale on I think I’ll be able to grab quite a few bargains! I originally had my sites set on beauty, accessories and possibly shoes…

asos-sale-picks-acessories

asos-sale-stationery

Ok so you can see I didn’t end up picking up and beauty items, or shoes for that matter! Shoe shopping online can be a bit problematic for me as I’m a 5.5 so shoes often end up not fitting well. I decided to stay safe and went for accessories and stationery this time instead! Oh and I did cheat a little bit… the sale actually started on Monday at 8am, but as I’m part of ASOS Premier, ASOS often email their Premier customers with sale previews, so I sorted the whole of the sale into price order with cheapest first on Sunday evening (obv so I could get the best bargains) and added everything to my save list that I liked the look of. Then when Monday morning came I was all ready to purchase 😀

Here’s what I picked up!

asos-sale-accessories

asos-sale-bracelet

I’m a bit of a magpie and ended up with quite a lot of jewellery, but I snapped up some fantastic bargains – the Gorjana bracelet for example was originally £95, and I got it for less than £20! I’d also highly recommend signing up to ASOS Premier, it’s only £10 for a years’ subscription and you receive free next day delivery with all orders, no matter how small, as well as free courier collection returns – saving you going to the post office, and not forgetting sale previews so you get the best picks of the sale before all the good stuff sells out!

I’m really pleased with my haul, I hope you enjoyed my post and I’d love to hear if you picked up anything in the ASOS sale? xxx

The Weekly Top 5 #8

Posted on May 31, 2015

the weekly top 5 no 8_edited-1

Hi Guys!

Happy Sunday! I hope you’re having a great weekend? Today’s weekly top 5 is a little different to usual, basically I was supposed to put together an outfit post showing you what I wore for the wedding I went to last Friday, but after a series of unfortunate events including forgetting my camera when we went to the wedding, then being really ill – which still hasn’t gone away properly, so I’m just not up to having my taken right now, I’ve decided to include my outfit in today’s post instead!

I’m a massive fan of vintage clothes (I actually used to run a vintage clothing store a few years ago) and my favourite eras are definitely the 50’s and 80’s. From the 50’s I love pretty prom style dresses with full circle skirts and petticoats, and I love anything loud and brash from the 80’s like bright prints and gold jewellery – I also collect 80’s jewellery too 🙂

So for the wedding I went with this beautiful Lindy Bop Ella dress from Lucy Loves Vintage. This style of dress really suits my shape as I have a larger bottom half, so it skims over that and emphasises my smaller waist which is ideal! The Ella dress comes in plus sizes too which is fantastic, and it’s also available in a range of different colours. I went for this gorgeous turquoise / teal shade (called slate) which I obviously have a thing for as my mum pointed out it’s the exact same shade as the vintage dress I wore for my wedding reception (you can check that out here)

I wore a plain black Short Sleeve Shrug (£15) over the top to cover my shoulders and arms, and for undies, I wore some big pants to suck everything in, and this super pretty Heidi Klum Intimates Amelia Underwired Bra, which is currently in the sale at House of Fraser. It was £38, and is now £30.40.

I’ve slightly embellished in this post because I don’t actually have the gorgeous shoes and bag I’ve included. I just wore some very non-exciting plain black shoes, and ended up taking a big ‘practical’ bag for all Fred’s necessities like wipes, toys and juice. If I had my way though I’d definitely wear these beautiful Lotus Isabelle Peep Toe Heels (was £59.99, now £41.99) partly because they’re so pretty and a great alternative to black shoes, but also because Lotus offer half sizes, which is perfect for me as I’m dead on a 5.5! I also included this stunning Phase Eight Rita Jewelled Box Clutch (was £79, now £63.20) just because it’s so pretty and finishes off the outfit really well!

I’d love to hear what you think of my outfit? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

summer accessories wish list_edited-1

Hi Guys!

I had planned to start this post with the phrase ‘Summer is officially on it’s way…’ as it’s been quite nice here lately, but it’s actually chucking it down right now! Nevertheless, I can’t wait till the warmer weather arrives, I’m hoping to bust out the fake tan very soon! It’s also now officially less than a month till my birthday too – June 12th in case you want to add that to your diary – oh and chocolate would be very nice thank you 🙂 It’s my son’s birthday on the same day too so I’m now starting to get excited and make plans for both of us! I’ve put together a little wish list today with some gorgeous golden and metallic accessories that I’ve had my eye on lately. Festival Fashion Inspiration with Lyst.co.uk

lyst festival wishlist

Hi Guys!

I have to admit, I an officially the queen of procrastination. I can while away hours on Pinterest looking at pretty pictures and tutorials and pinning until the early hours, if you’ve used the site you’ll know the addiction is very real. But I’ve now discovered a brand new distraction site – Lyst.co.uk. It basically offers a unique shopping experience where you can create wish lists (or lysts) for anything and everything where it comes to fashion and accessories.

So how does it work? Well you might want to make a lyst to plan an outfit if you have something particular mind, so you just search for what you’re looking for and start adding the items you like to your lysts, it’s as simple as that! Or if you’re like me, you might just like looking at gorgeous clothes and accessories and creating wish lists! It’s also worth mentioning that the site coveres a whole range of brands, from high end designers like Burberry and Valentino, to easily accessible high street brands such as ASOS and Topshop.

I’ve been playing around with the site for a little while and used it to come up with a ‘Festival Fashion’ lyst. I’m in love with the beautiful Diane von Furstenberg Pink Ombre Silk Kaftan and the Madewell Arrow Flip Necklace especially, and both are included in the image above. DVF is a bit out of my price range unfortunately, but the Madewell necklace is well within what I can afford at only £36, and I never would have come across it if it wasn’t for this site!

What I love is that Lyst.co.uk has made me aware of so many more brands and companies than I ever knew existed, and one of the best things is if you add something to one of your lysts and it’s out of stock, you will also be alerted via email when that item comes back in stock, or even if one of your choices goes on sale – which is super handy if you have your eye on something specific.

If you love fashion and discovering new things, I’d highly recommend you check out Lyst.co.uk!

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

A Personal Post, and Two New Outfits

Posted on March 30, 2015

Hi Guys,

I really want to say happy Monday! And be all cheery and full of sunshine for you. But already this morning I’ve woken up late, broken a nail and banged the side of my head getting into the car so I feel like I’ve been punched in the ear. Can I start again!?

Today I want to talk about some personal issues, and I want to be honest with you. I’ve been putting off / avoiding outfit posts more and more because I feel so self conscious of my size and weight. I’ve put on a massive chunk of weight (five stones in fact) over the last 18 months and it’s really knocked my confidence. I’ve been trying to think of how to share my thoughts and feelings about this, but it’s so hard to get the words out right, I keep writing this and re-writing this again and again, so I’m just going to go for it…

Basically I feel completely torn. On one hand I want to jump around in my favourite loud and colourful clothes whilst giving the world the middle finger. I want to say this is me, this is what I look like, and if you have a problem with that, then it says a lot more about you that it does me. But unfortunately as much as I want to, I don’t feel like that most of the time. Most of the time I want to hide away because I feel so self conscious. I don’t like the fact that my whole body wobbles when I walk. I don’t like feeling uncomfortable in my clothes, and in my own skin. It’s been really getting to me, but I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to accept myself as I am in order to start making positive changes… so here I am.

isolated-heroes-dress

This is what I look like.

Will people judge me? Maybe. Do I care? I really want to say no, but I wouldn’t be writing this if that was the truth, so I do care a bit.

Even though I’m not feeling great about myself at the moment, I really want this post to have a positive message behind it. If you’re a size 8, 18 or 28. IT’S YOUR LIFE. It’s your body and your choice. If you’re big and want to lose weight, fantastic, do it! If you’re slim and unhappy and you want to gain weight – do it!

We all need to do what makes us happy, you can’t live your life worrying about what other people will think or doing as they expect. (see how I’m contradicting myself there) I find it quite cathartic writing this down so I’m hoping by the end of the post I’ll have made some sort of peace with myself.

In the above picture I’m wearing the Sheer Tears Sequin Dress Isolated Heroes, this is one of my favourite stores, expensive but they make everything by hand, and definitely worth every penny.

clarkes-shoes-accessories

You couldn’t see my shoes very well through the grass so I’ve taken a separate photo of my shoes and accessories for you. I recently bought this Silver Gem Stripe Panel Clutch from New Look in the sale – a bargain at £10, and these gorgeous Rosalie Pose Sandals from Clarks Shoes will just be perfect for the coming warmer weather. My sunnies are from Nasty Gal.

tein-clothing-tshirt

So I’ve put on all this weight for various reasons; I’ve been suffering with anxiety and depression, but mostly depression. I’ve been comfort eating and feeling like I have no control over my habits. The situation I was in got to a point where I couldn’t carry on like I was, and I had to do something about it – so I did. I’ve now made certain changes in my life, so things should be on the up from now on. I’ve been wanting to cut out my bad habits and start a healthier lifestyle for a long time now, and that’s exactly what I’m now starting to do.

In this outfit my t-shirt is from Tein Clothing. I also bought a few others in their sale which I’m hoping to get into when I’ve lost some weight. Their prints are amazing!

new-look-miu-miu-shoes-accesories

The accessories for this outfit included a gold tone gem necklace from Nasty Gal, these amazing Silver Glitter Gem Tie Up Block Heels from New Look, they were £39.99 down to £22.00 – and yes they do actually match the bag above. And my old trusty Nasty Gal bag.

I’m sorry if any of this doesn’t make sense. I’ll have a post up shortly explaining what’s happened exactly and what my plans are moving forward. I do feel better for ‘coming out’ and getting this all off my chest though. I’m really looking forward to a new beginning xxx
