Hi Guys!

Sweet baby Jesus, I’ve just seen some images from H&M’s new designer collaboration with Balmain, and just WOW. This collection really is EVERYTHING. As expected of Balmain, it’s full of statement trophy mini dresses, intricate detailing and beautiful patterns. The entire collection contains at least 50 pieces (so I’ve heard) including clothing, bags, shoes and jewellery, for both men and women.

I just can’t get over how amazing this collection looks. It’s released on November 5th and I imagine it will sell out in seconds, so you’ll need to be quick to snap some of these beauties up!

I’ve included some of my top picks below, fingers crossed I’ll be able to grab something before they sell out – enjoy!

My Autumn Fashion Wishlist

Posted on September 22, 2015

autumn fashion wishlist

Hi Guys!

Did you know Autumn is officially upon us as of tomorrow? (according to Google anyway) It’s suddenly turned super cold here, resulting in me living in jogging bottoms, my other half’s chunky socks and my red blanket – what a great look hey!

Because of the sudden cold turn in the weather, I’ve also been considering what to update in my wardrobe. On one hand I want to wait till I’ve lost more weight before buying anything new, but on the other hand I love A/W fashion and I JUST WANT TO BUY ALL THE THINGS!

So, out with my beloved yet flimsy (only because they’re made of fabric) Schuh flats I’ve been loving all summer, and in with some sturdy shoes and boots I think! I also really want to get a cape or a wrap of some sort. I’m not sure which though yet, but I think worn right they can look really smart and chic.

Sticking with a seasonal palette of browns, greys and neutrals – with some gold jewellery of course, I’ve put together my top Autumn picks from some of my favourite fashion stores –

  1. Avelon Skinny Fit Trousers from Farfetch
  2. Chronicle Ring Set from Nasty Gal
  3. Givenchy Three Row Bracelet from Selfridges
  4. Vivien Westwood Primrose Zip Tote Bag from Daniel Footwear
  5. Moschino Bear Earrings from Selfridges
  6. Label Lab Lightweight Side Split Dress from House of Fraser
  7. Roll Neck Poncho from Esprit
  8. Matisse Nugent Ponyhair Ankle Boot from Nasty Gal

I’d love to hear if any of these take your fancy?

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Summer Brights Wish List!

Posted on July 24, 2015

summer brights wish list

Hi Guys!

At the moment, I just can’t get enough of anything that’s bright, cute and kitsch. If it falls under the category of neon or novelty, I WANT IT. I need it in my life! I really feel like I’m clinging onto the summer with all my might – the weather is still hot and muggy, but unfortunately the sun seems to have ‘done one’ of late. And though I’ve been trying to be good when it comes to spending, I have actually been buying a few things recently… some beauty bits from some blog sales (all will be revealed soon) and some awesome new stationery from the US, which definitely falls under the cute and kitsch category! Hopefully my delivery will arrive soon so I can show you what I bought (and they’re all completely necessary, important things of course)

Is it just me or does anyone else spend a lot of time, and I mean A LOT, window shopping online, filling your virtual baskets with hundreds and sometimes thousands of pounds of gorgeous goodies, just to take things out of said bag one by one to try to make it affordable? Then realising you shouldn’t really be buying anything anyway, and you should really be doing the washing up / hoovering / dusting / insert relevant chore, rather than browsing thing you can’t afford?

Yeah I spend a lot of time doing that, hence my latest wish list! I’ve included some fantastic bargains, as well as a couple of more expensive items – well it is a ‘wish list’ after all! I hope you like!

  • Kitty High Top Sneakers from ShopJeen
  • Rib Cage Cuff 70mm from Cooee
  • Chiara Ferragni Glitter Pop ‘n Dog Slip-On Sneaker from Nasty Gal
  • Skinnydip Pineapple Juice Across Body Bag from ASOS
  • Cropped Stretch Cotton Trousers from Esprit
  • Geo Transparent Strap Watch from ASOS
  • Blue Tropical Print Ruch Side Mini Skirt from New Look
  • IRO Ashville Jacket in Coral from Trilogy Stores
  • Only Child Kaleido Crystal Ring from ASOS
  • Far Out Tie Dye Halter Top from ShopJeen

If you can recommend any other stores for similar goodies that I might like, please do leave me a comment and let me know!

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

The Weekly Top 5 #8

Posted on May 31, 2015

the weekly top 5 no 8_edited-1

Hi Guys!

Happy Sunday! I hope you’re having a great weekend? Today’s weekly top 5 is a little different to usual, basically I was supposed to put together an outfit post showing you what I wore for the wedding I went to last Friday, but after a series of unfortunate events including forgetting my camera when we went to the wedding, then being really ill – which still hasn’t gone away properly, so I’m just not up to having my taken right now, I’ve decided to include my outfit in today’s post instead!

I’m a massive fan of vintage clothes (I actually used to run a vintage clothing store a few years ago) and my favourite eras are definitely the 50’s and 80’s. From the 50’s I love pretty prom style dresses with full circle skirts and petticoats, and I love anything loud and brash from the 80’s like bright prints and gold jewellery – I also collect 80’s jewellery too 🙂

So for the wedding I went with this beautiful Lindy Bop Ella dress from Lucy Loves Vintage. This style of dress really suits my shape as I have a larger bottom half, so it skims over that and emphasises my smaller waist which is ideal! The Ella dress comes in plus sizes too which is fantastic, and it’s also available in a range of different colours. I went for this gorgeous turquoise / teal shade (called slate) which I obviously have a thing for as my mum pointed out it’s the exact same shade as the vintage dress I wore for my wedding reception (you can check that out here)

I wore a plain black Short Sleeve Shrug (£15) over the top to cover my shoulders and arms, and for undies, I wore some big pants to suck everything in, and this super pretty Heidi Klum Intimates Amelia Underwired Bra, which is currently in the sale at House of Fraser. It was £38, and is now £30.40.

I’ve slightly embellished in this post because I don’t actually have the gorgeous shoes and bag I’ve included. I just wore some very non-exciting plain black shoes, and ended up taking a big ‘practical’ bag for all Fred’s necessities like wipes, toys and juice. If I had my way though I’d definitely wear these beautiful Lotus Isabelle Peep Toe Heels (was £59.99, now £41.99) partly because they’re so pretty and a great alternative to black shoes, but also because Lotus offer half sizes, which is perfect for me as I’m dead on a 5.5! I also included this stunning Phase Eight Rita Jewelled Box Clutch (was £79, now £63.20) just because it’s so pretty and finishes off the outfit really well!

I’d love to hear what you think of my outfit? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Designer Spotlight: Alice McCall

Posted on May 14, 2015

alice mccall_edited-1

Hi Guys!

Many moons ago, I decided it would be nice to put together a monthly ‘Designer Spotlight’ post where I could tell you all about my latest designer covetings – but despite my good intentions, it didn’t really end up happening regularly. I have so many gorgeous designer pieces on my fantasy wish list right now though, so I’ve decided to start the series again! The most amazing designer Alice McCall has recently been brought to my attention so I thought I’d take the opportunity today to tell you a bit about her and why I love her clothing so much.

Alice McCall’s pieces are just stunning and instantly recognisable – I love how she uses striking organic patterns and prints throughout her collections, with bold block colours and black linear graphic details. McCall has come a long way from originally selling her one-off silk pieces at London markets, and after quickly establishing a fan base her first line was born in 2004, with her fashion label being launched at Australian Fashion Week.

Over the past 10 years she has also collaborated with some major retailers including Topshop and Target. My favourite collaboration was definitely with Nasty Gal (this is also one of my all time favourite stores) I’ve Included the amazing green ‘Quartz’ dress from Nasty Gal in the image above.

‘Alice McCall’s signature style takes its inspiration from bohemian, folky subcultures and the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle – resulting in daringly girlish silhouettes detailed with frills, scalloping, and lots of striking colour.’ Fun and playful is definitely the name of the game here, and I love how she incorporates so much unique detail and craftsmanship into her pieces, keeping them edgy yet very feminine.

It’s definitely my goal to own one of her dresses one day when my budget allows it! I’d love to hear what you think of Alice McCall’s designs and who your favourite designers are?

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Festival Fashion Inspiration with Lyst.co.uk

lyst festival wishlist

Hi Guys!

I have to admit, I an officially the queen of procrastination. I can while away hours on Pinterest looking at pretty pictures and tutorials and pinning until the early hours, if you’ve used the site you’ll know the addiction is very real. But I’ve now discovered a brand new distraction site – Lyst.co.uk. It basically offers a unique shopping experience where you can create wish lists (or lysts) for anything and everything where it comes to fashion and accessories.

So how does it work? Well you might want to make a lyst to plan an outfit if you have something particular mind, so you just search for what you’re looking for and start adding the items you like to your lysts, it’s as simple as that! Or if you’re like me, you might just like looking at gorgeous clothes and accessories and creating wish lists! It’s also worth mentioning that the site coveres a whole range of brands, from high end designers like Burberry and Valentino, to easily accessible high street brands such as ASOS and Topshop.

I’ve been playing around with the site for a little while and used it to come up with a ‘Festival Fashion’ lyst. I’m in love with the beautiful Diane von Furstenberg Pink Ombre Silk Kaftan and the Madewell Arrow Flip Necklace especially, and both are included in the image above. DVF is a bit out of my price range unfortunately, but the Madewell necklace is well within what I can afford at only £36, and I never would have come across it if it wasn’t for this site!

What I love is that Lyst.co.uk has made me aware of so many more brands and companies than I ever knew existed, and one of the best things is if you add something to one of your lysts and it’s out of stock, you will also be alerted via email when that item comes back in stock, or even if one of your choices goes on sale – which is super handy if you have your eye on something specific.

If you love fashion and discovering new things, I’d highly recommend you check out Lyst.co.uk!

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

A Personal Post, and Two New Outfits

Posted on March 30, 2015

Hi Guys,

I really want to say happy Monday! And be all cheery and full of sunshine for you. But already this morning I’ve woken up late, broken a nail and banged the side of my head getting into the car so I feel like I’ve been punched in the ear. Can I start again!?

Today I want to talk about some personal issues, and I want to be honest with you. I’ve been putting off / avoiding outfit posts more and more because I feel so self conscious of my size and weight. I’ve put on a massive chunk of weight (five stones in fact) over the last 18 months and it’s really knocked my confidence. I’ve been trying to think of how to share my thoughts and feelings about this, but it’s so hard to get the words out right, I keep writing this and re-writing this again and again, so I’m just going to go for it…

Basically I feel completely torn. On one hand I want to jump around in my favourite loud and colourful clothes whilst giving the world the middle finger. I want to say this is me, this is what I look like, and if you have a problem with that, then it says a lot more about you that it does me. But unfortunately as much as I want to, I don’t feel like that most of the time. Most of the time I want to hide away because I feel so self conscious. I don’t like the fact that my whole body wobbles when I walk. I don’t like feeling uncomfortable in my clothes, and in my own skin. It’s been really getting to me, but I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to accept myself as I am in order to start making positive changes… so here I am.

isolated-heroes-dress

This is what I look like.

Will people judge me? Maybe. Do I care? I really want to say no, but I wouldn’t be writing this if that was the truth, so I do care a bit.

Even though I’m not feeling great about myself at the moment, I really want this post to have a positive message behind it. If you’re a size 8, 18 or 28. IT’S YOUR LIFE. It’s your body and your choice. If you’re big and want to lose weight, fantastic, do it! If you’re slim and unhappy and you want to gain weight – do it!

We all need to do what makes us happy, you can’t live your life worrying about what other people will think or doing as they expect. (see how I’m contradicting myself there) I find it quite cathartic writing this down so I’m hoping by the end of the post I’ll have made some sort of peace with myself.

In the above picture I’m wearing the Sheer Tears Sequin Dress Isolated Heroes, this is one of my favourite stores, expensive but they make everything by hand, and definitely worth every penny.

clarkes-shoes-accessories

You couldn’t see my shoes very well through the grass so I’ve taken a separate photo of my shoes and accessories for you. I recently bought this Silver Gem Stripe Panel Clutch from New Look in the sale – a bargain at £10, and these gorgeous Rosalie Pose Sandals from Clarks Shoes will just be perfect for the coming warmer weather. My sunnies are from Nasty Gal.

tein-clothing-tshirt

So I’ve put on all this weight for various reasons; I’ve been suffering with anxiety and depression, but mostly depression. I’ve been comfort eating and feeling like I have no control over my habits. The situation I was in got to a point where I couldn’t carry on like I was, and I had to do something about it – so I did. I’ve now made certain changes in my life, so things should be on the up from now on. I’ve been wanting to cut out my bad habits and start a healthier lifestyle for a long time now, and that’s exactly what I’m now starting to do.

In this outfit my t-shirt is from Tein Clothing. I also bought a few others in their sale which I’m hoping to get into when I’ve lost some weight. Their prints are amazing!

new-look-miu-miu-shoes-accesories

The accessories for this outfit included a gold tone gem necklace from Nasty Gal, these amazing Silver Glitter Gem Tie Up Block Heels from New Look, they were £39.99 down to £22.00 – and yes they do actually match the bag above. And my old trusty Nasty Gal bag.

I’m sorry if any of this doesn’t make sense. I’ll have a post up shortly explaining what’s happened exactly and what my plans are moving forward. I do feel better for ‘coming out’ and getting this all off my chest though. I’m really looking forward to a new beginning xxx

Spring Wedding Dress Guide + £100 Giveaway!

bhs bridesmaid dresses

Hi Guys!

Well Spring is finally here (I just had to check that it is actually here, and it turns out the first day of Spring is on the 20th, so I’m close enough) so Spring is in the air, and along with the change in season comes all things new such as bouncing spring lambs (my favourite image of Spring!) Easter, new loves, new pregnancies, and new engagements. I just realised that within the last couple of months two of my good friends have become engaged. They’re now planning their big days for later on in the year, and of course dresses are the hot topic of discussion.

This is where today’s post comes in. I’ve teamed up with BHS to let you know about their fabulous selection of wedding dresses as well as bridesmaids dresses and other wedding attire. BHS may not be the first place that comes to mind when you think weddings, but they really are worth a look! I’ve included some of my favourite bridesmaids dresses above, I’m personally not a fan of traditional bridesmaid dresses but BHS have some really lovely styles, in a range of pretty spring pastels as well as other colours too.

If you’re a bride on the hunt for the perfect gown, again BHS have you covered. From as little as £85 for a beautiful wedding dress, and the most expensive is only £250, if you’re planning a wedding on a budget, you should really check them out as they have a large selection of styles and shades of white and ivory to suit everyone. One of my friends I know is looking for a tea length gown with full skirt, I’ve told her to hop on over to the BHS site as I’ve seen a gorgeous one on there that I think she’ll love! It’s the one on the far right in the image below.

bhs wedding dresses_edited-1

I’m really excited to say BHS are also kindly giving away a £100 voucher for their site, and all you need to do is enter via rafflecopter below. As usual this giveaway will run for two weeks, and it’s open to UK entrants only. If you have any questions please feel free to ask – good luck!

It’s Norwich Fashion Week!

Posted on March 8, 2015

Hi Guys!

Forget London Fashion Week, it’s now Norwich Fashion Week!! 😀

The fun kicked off on Thursday evening with the opening Retailers catwalk show, where local companies sent the best of what they had to offer down the catwalk. I was very excited to have VIP tickets and hopped along to the show with my BFF Laura. In the VIP area an amazing thing happened, I tried a glass of wine and I ACTUALLY LIKED IT. The bar were serving coffee based alcoholic drinks, but I don’t like coffee, so I reluctantly went for a wine, knowing I wouldn’t like it either, but then some sort of magic happened and I drank the whole glass without grimacing! It was a revelation! I contacted the lovely guys at Grey Seal Coffee who kindly let me know the wine was Lynton White from local Mark Lynton, so I need to track it down now.

Anyway I digress, the show was fantastic as expected, and it was great to see a mixture of bigger and smaller companies represented on the catwalk. I’ve included some of my favourite looks below –

john-lewis-womens-show

house-of-fraser-mens-show

The boys all looked fabulous, of course. I loved the sleek suits from House of Fraser.

house-of-fraser-womens-show

I just knew I’d love what House of Fraser had to offer for the ladies too – and I did! There were some fantastic floral prints coming down the catwalk, and the most beautiful pleated skirt.

jarrolds-women

And lastly Jarrold, I loved all of their looks, with lots of spring pastels, clashing prints and fun accessories – check out that holo clutch guys. I was really impressed.

…Fast forward to this afternoon (Sunday, in case you’re reading this later) I headed into the city again with Laura for the second scheduled show – the Vintage Show held at Norwich Puppet Theatre. The Puppet Theatre was a bit harder to find – thank God for google maps – but we got there in the end, and it was a complete contrast to the previous retailers venue. Hosted in a converted church, the Puppet Theatre was the perfect setting for the Vintage Show, we sat on an old style theatre, watching the models from the front row. I loved the intimate yet relaxed atmosphere, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the show… but we’re a bit surprised by the ending though!

Here are a few of my favourite looks and collections –

the-frock-spot-wedding-dresses

The Frock Spot showcased some amazing vintage wedding dresses – my favourite was the tea length satin number on the far right – beautiful!

retreat-vintage-dress

I also fell in love with this exquisite 1950’s evening dress from Retreat Vintage. It was covered in the most beautiful intricate beading.

vintage-dresses

I should also mention that the Vintage Show had an oriental theme, there were some fantastic oriental style looks on show.

proudlock-and-harry-underwear

And there were undies! I loved the contrast of lace and rubber – very 50 shades! I’d never heard of Proudlock & Harry before, but they’re a boutique lingerie store on London Street, I’ll definitely be giving them a visit!

burlesque-dancer

And the show ended (rather surprisingly) with a burlesque dancer. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t quite prepared for her. She was literally right in front of me, gyrating and spinning and she was just AMAZING. I was mesmerised! (She had some nice undies on too!) I’m afraid I don’t have the name of this burlesque beauty but I’ll add her link when I find out!

So far we’ve had a fantastic time, there are two more main shows to come next week so keep your eyes peeled for another post! xxx

Two New Looks For Spring…

Posted on February 26, 2015

Hi Guys!

I absolutely love fashion, and I’m now trying to add more fashion type posts to my blog – the thing I’m having a problem with though is the fact that I can’t take photos of myself! I don’t have anyone around that can take photos for me, so I need to look into a remote for my camera, and get a tripod! (If anyone can recommend a remote, please let me know) In the mean time I quite like putting looks and outfits together – on my kitchen floor for the time being! 🙂 Here are a couple I’ve done with some of the awesome new things I’ve acquired lately, I’ve put together one casual look and one for evening!

casual-accessories

I bought this lovely top in the F&F sale at Christmas, it was reduced to £6 or something and I wear it all the time, it’s slightly baggy so it covers everything up and I love the gold shoulder detail, it also has an exposed zip detail at the back. Wins all round!! I’m also obsessed with necklaces, and I love this pretty triangle stone necklace which I bought from Topshop ages ago, and I happened to recently stumble across in a drawer so I haven’t actually worn yet. For a toned down casual look I’ve started to wear these gorgeous Safari Boots from Calzados Victoria – they have the softest furry lining and I definitely prefer wearing them folded down rather than laced up to the top for a more relaxed look. I’m also part of Access All ASOS, they set up a secret santa blogger gift swap at Christmas, where they gave everyone involved a £15 voucher to spend on the site to buy gifts for someone else, what a lovely idea! Except my parcel never arrived 🙁 so they kindly gave me the voucher to buy something for myself, they’re good guys at ASOS! I treated myself to these awesome Cat Eye Sunglasses, a bargain at a tenner, and the scarf in the below pic 🙂 The pink and blue scarf is also from ASOS a looong time ago.

going-out-accessories

And this is my going out look! I’m in love with these amazing Cassie Cut out Ankle Boots from Online Avenue, they literally tick all the boxes for me – gold details, cut outs and a platform, check, check and check, and they’re a complete bargain at just over £20 too! I bought the Pieces Jine Oversized Floral Scarf from ASOS as it just has such a lovely pattern. I literally live in scarves most of the year! I also included this pretty Crackle Stone & Rope Chain Necklace from New Look (sorry it’s not available any more) and if you look closely you’ll see it’s missing a stone, arrgh!! I always manage to damage or break my necklaces!

And lastly, I had to include my gorgeous new Ingrid Medium Leather Bag from Baginc, ahh I can’t get enough of it! It’s pretty much a spot on dupe for the Chanel Boy which I’ve needed in my life and desperately lusted after for a long time now, but unfortunately my budget doesn’t quite fit with the £2.6k price tag, ouch! The beautiful Ingrid bag is made of real leather and apart from the lack of branding, which I really don’t mind (it also means it’s not a copy or fake) it’s SO similar to the Chanel. I think I can live without the designer version now, I can’t wait to take my Ingrid out!

I’d love to hear what you think of my two looks? And I promise I’ll have some full outfit posts coming up soon! xxx
