Hi Guys!

Ok, I know this is technically my Sunday post that’s kind of a bit late (well three days late) but my excuse is that things have been really hectic over the past few weeks, so I’m playing catch up with everything at the moment. If only there were about six more hours in the day I’d be happy!

Well not much has been going on for me lately except work really! Fred has finally settled into school now, which is a relief. I hated leaving him there upset for the first few days. And in other news I’m off to London tomorrow for some meetings and an event, yay! I’m also hoping to plan a weekend away for the family before Christmas, so if you can recommend anywhere family friendly for me please do let me know!

Here’s this last weeks top 5 –

Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Creme (£47.00) – it’s been quite a while since I’ve tried anything from Ole Henriksen, so I was excited when Escentual asked if I fancied trying their new Invigorating Night Creme out. This luxuriously thick cream promises to re-texturise and renew your complexion overnight by balancing and brightening your skin while you sleep. The formula includes glycolic, lactic and fruit acids to deeply penetrate the epidermis, encouraging cell renewal to reveal smoother skin. As well as their Fruit Acid Complex, which is a concentrated cocktail of bilberry, sugar cane, sugar maple, orange and lemon to lightly exfoliate the skin’s surface, breaking down the bonds of dead skin cells and boosting elasticity of the skin’s surface. This Night Creme is super hydrating, and as expected it smells gorgeous too. Since I’ve started using it I’ve been waking up with fresh feeling skin every morning 🙂

Rocket Dog Stassi Saloon Boots (£59.99) – I LOVE ankle boots for Autumn, and these Stassi Boots from Rocket Dog just fit the bill for me. They’re in a pull on style, with tassel detailing on the sides and a mid-height western heel. They’re really comfortable – as I can’t actually walk in heels higher than this – and can easily be dressed up or down.

Sleek Creme To Powder Blush in Pink Peony (£5.99) – I love creme blushers, and this new offering from Sleek (one of my favourite drugstore brands) is no exception. The creme to powder formula is a beauty to blend out, whilst giving a really pretty satin finish. Pink Peony could be described as a slightly scary shade, just because it looks so intense in the pan. In reality though, with a light hand this gives a beautiful flush of colour that’s perfect to brighten any complexion for the cold season.

Arquiste – The Architect’s Club Fragrance (£135.00) – Ok I know it’s crazy expensive, but this perfume is just beautiful. I’ve just received my mini sample as part of Bloom Perfumery’s fragrance sample subscription and this is definitely one of my favourite fragrances I’ve received so far. With notes of juniper, oakwood, bigrade orange, lemon peel, amber, vanilla, angelica root and gaiac wood, this is an intense, unusual and beautiful seasonal scent.

This weeks TV of choice isn’t actually on Netflix surprisingly. The Following, on freeview channel Pick was kindly recorded for me by my other half, without me knowing. He thought it was my type of thing, and he was spot on! The Following, stars Kevin Bacon as Ryan Harding, an agent with the job of chasing down a psychotic serial-killer’s cult following. It’s a fantastic series!

In case you missed it – this little beauty is still up for grabs! This is a customised palette by Neve Cosmetics, made by yours truly. You’ll be amazed at the swatches too. Take a look and enter the giveaway here.

Current covets –

This is a new section I’ve decided to add to my weekly post, just to let you know which products I’m currently lusting after. This week I’ve had my eye on the Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder Duo. At £68.00 it’s definitely on the expensive side, and unfortunately I can’t justify buying it at the moment – boo! Take a look at some swatches online though and you’ll see how pretty it is!

Other things worth mentioning – And lastly, if you have a moment please take the time to check out the video below, yes it’s an advert, but it has a really important message that I think will resonate with most of us.

Hi Guys!

Ok so this post is slightly late, it was supposed to be published at the weekend but I’ve had so much going on I didn’t get a chance. I know I’ve been a bit AWOL this last week as far as the blog is concerned. I’ve just had a lot going on, which I won’t go into now, plus Fred has just started school! He was pretty upset for the first few mornings but soon got into it, bless him. He’s been on half days all of last week to get used to it, which has been quite difficult from my point of view as it’s completely thrown our schedules out the window! He’s just started full days yesterday though, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to get myself a bit more organised this week!

Here’s this week’s top 5 –

I’ve fallen completely in love with Jo Malone London Mimosa & Cardamom Cologne (£42.00) – I’m a big fan of JM products byway, but I have to say this new fragrance is definitely one of my favourites. With top notes of cardamom, heart notes of mimosa and base notes of tonka bean, this fragrance is warming, comforting and perfect for Autumn. I’ll have a full review coming up soon.

I’ve had the Smashbox Step-By-Step Contour Stick Trio (£35.00) for a while now but I’ve only just got round to using them regularly. This set includes three ‘sticks’ including a darker shade for contouring, a light shade for highlighting and a medium shade for bronzing. I love that these creamy sticks are so easy to use – you literally just apply direct to your face and blend in. The shades are easy to blend together and customise to reach the strength of colour required to suit your complexion. I’m pretty pale so I was concerned the contour shade might be too dark for me, but I apply lightly and blend in well and it works a dream!

This week, my living room has been fragranced by the beautiful Orla Kiely Orange Rind Scented Reed Diffuser (£32.00) – this diffuser contains a luxury blend of orange rind, sandalwood, and eucalyptus essential oils, infused with a hint of nutmeg, to create an indulgent and warming scent. I highly recommend this if you’re a fan of citrus scents.

I’ve also just added this lovely Treaclemoon Vanilla Moment Bath And Shower Gel (£2.99) to my bathroom cabinet. I’ve tried Treaclemoon bath products before and they’re just fantastic, as well as affordable. This vanilla scented bath and shower gel smells amazingly yummy, and it’s perfect for an indulgent bubble bath!

And lastly, I have new shoes! These Clarks Janey June Leisure (£55.00) are in a classic Mary Jane style, but with a twist. Clarks shoes are definitely my go-to brand for comfort, as well as style and these gorgeous black leather shoes fit me perfectly. They’re also super durable so I know they’re going to last me a very long time.

In case you missed it –

Did you catch this gorgeous Tarte Miracles From The Amazon Set on the blog last week? It really is a beautiful collection, it’d make the perfect gift for a makeup fan, or if you’re looking to treat yourself.

This Weeks’ Top Covet – This is a new addition to my weekly favourites posts. My wish list is forever being added to so I thought it would be fun to include something I’ve been lusting after in the previous week…

ombre moto jacket_edited-1

This stunning Ombre Moto Jacket is just EVERYTHING. I’m not sure if it’s a blessing or a curse that it’s not available in my size right now, but one day it will be mine, oh yes.

Other things worth mentioning –

Keep an eye out on Twitter on Wednesday night for the #SlimFastWorksForMe chat. This will be starting at 8pm, hosted by myself as well a two other lovely bloggers. We’ll be talking all about healthy eating, motivations and goals as well as SlimFast’s exciting new products – and there will also be a competition too!

Hi Guys!

Happy Sunday! 🙂

Is it me or do the weeks just seem to be flying by really quickly at the moment? I saw someone tweet that X Factor is starting next weekend, which pretty much means it’s Christmas really doesn’t it? Crazy! Anyway, we’ve had a great couple of weeks with my brother in law and his family, they came over from Japan and for the last two weeks we’ve been having some lovely days out. Freddy’s really going to miss his cousin now they’ve gone, so I’m trying not to talk too much about them as I don’t want him to get upset.

Hopefully blogging will return to normal this week. Just from having a few days out and evening meals, I’ve found it so much harder to plan my time and fit everything in. I should have a whole load of posts coming up this week with some gorgeous new beauty products and stationery to show you.

Here’s this weeks top five –

Lemon Curd High Tea Classic Jar Candle from Flamingo Candles. This scent takes me right back to my childhood when I had a phase of having lemon curd sandwiches for breakfast! I just love the sweet smell of this candle, it’s lemony-sweet and yummy and just makes my house smell amazing. Flamingo Candles offer a massive range of scents that are really affordable, so definitely check their site out if you’re a candle fan!

17 Month Classic Florabunda Agenda from Ban.do. My amazing stationery order from Ban.do finally arrived (after some rather hefty import fees) and I think I’m in love! I’ll have the full details in a post hopefully later this week, but until then, just marvel at the beauty of my new agenda! Isn’t it pretty!

ASOS CURVE 90’s Skater Dress with High Neck from ASOS. I had a little ASOS splurge last week and bought myself some much needed new clothes. Half the items didn’t fit – thank God for free returns hey! But out of the few that did, my favourite was easily this really simple but pretty skater dress. It hugs me in the right areas, and skims over those I’d rather cover up. The colour is also much nicer than the picture, it’s more of a muted terracotta-red shade. I’m very happy with this purchase!

Nivea Double Effect Eye Makeup Remover from Boots. Considering Nivea is a massively popular brand, I haven’t actually tried many of their products at all. So I was really excited when this brand new eye makeup remove arrived on my doorstep last week. The Daily essentials Double Effective Eye Make-up Remover has a two-phase extra strength formula, including an oil phase to effectively remove even waterproof mascara and eye-make-up, and an aqueous phase to protect and care for the eye lashes, without leaving an oily residue. And it really does work! It takes my eyeliner and waterproof mascara off with minimal rubbing, and leaves my eyes feeling clean, refreshed and happy!

And lastly Pia Jewellery – I have some gorgeous pieces from Pia that I’ve been wearing this week, including this beautiful Mystic Topaz ring. Keep an eye on the blog later this week for my full post 🙂

In case you missed it –

#Bloggerbalckmail has been the talk of the week on social media, and when I say this week, it was trending on Twitter on Monday, being mentioned on Tuesday, and pretty much forgotten about by Wednesday. In case you somehow missed this and want to catch up with the drama, take a look here for my thoughts.

Screen Shot 2015-08-17 at 08.57.59

Other things worth mentioning –

As a blogger, you know when you get a really exciting email and your heart skips a beat? Well I had one of those last week. A very exciting project is on the cards, it’s only in the very beginning stages right now, so watch this space!

Hi Guys!

Well it’s now the end of a long week for me, we have family over from Japan this week and next, and we’ve been so busy on trips out and going out for meals, it’s been hectic, but great fun! We went to the local Dinosaur Park earlier in the week, the kids had a great time but it was pretty tiring for all of us, and we’ve also been out for a meal, and a family BBQ yesterday. Next week we’re off to the seaside too, I can’t wait! We were also supposed to be going camping too, but it looks like that’s been cancelled now as the boys have decided to go on a brewery tour tomorrow instead – typical!

It was also my husband’s birthday on Wednesday, he’s now the ripe old age of 33. He was pretty spoiled and received some lovely presents, so I’ll be sharing them in a post later this week. As well as that I’ve been starting to plan what Fred needs for school, I can’t believe he’s starting in a few weeks’ time, bless him! Anyway, enough rambling, Here’s this week’s top five –

Roger & Gallet’s Fleur de Figuier EDP (£27.00) has been this weeks’ fragrance of choice. With top notes of Mandarin, Pink Peppercorn and Candied Fig Accord, heart notes of Violet Wood and Fig Pulp, and base notes of Musk, Patchouli and Moss, this is such a beautiful, fruity and sweet fragrance for summer, and at just £27 for 50ml, I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a new perfume right now.

I have a bit of a love / hate relationship with nail polish. I do actually love it, but I’ll go for ages not wearing any, then I’ll just have a massive polish phase for the next month or so, changing the shade every few days. Well I’ve just started using Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in 535 Perfect Pair. This is the most beautiful nude pink shade, with a hint of beige. The shade suits my pale skin really well and doesn’t make me look washed out – I love it!

This week’s Netflix obsession has been The L Word. This is a US series that started way back in the early 2000’s – but I’d never heard of it before! If you haven’t heard of it either, the series follows the lives and loves of a group of lesbian and bisexual friends living in LA. It’s a fantastic series with equal parts drama, comedy and sex. A definite must-see.

And I’ve also just discovered ‘The best Gin in the world!I don’t drink very often, but I am partial to the odd G&T, and Napue Gin (£31.89) has just been voted the winner of the first ever official G&T competition, held by The International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC). Napue is described as a full bodied spirit with a herbal sweet taste and hints of sea-buckthorn, cranberries, pepper, rye and birch leaves. I’m no expert, but I can tell you this is definitely something special!

And lastly, Palmer’s Skin Therapy Oil Spray – Rosehip Fragrance (£7.49) – this is a brand new multi-purpose skin perfecting dry oil, designed to moisturise and soften skin whilst helping improve the appearance of stretch marks, scars, dry damaged skin, uneven skin tone and ageing skin. I love the Rosehip scent of this product, as well as the fact that it sinks into the skin super fast, leaving no residue. I can’t comment on the other claims as ye I’m afraid, but time will tell if it really works!

In case you missed it –

I’m holding not one but two giveaways at the moment, you can win a pair of festival tickets and a pre-pitched tent worth over £500 here and a brand new Urban Decay Smoky Palette here. Good luck!

urban-decay-naked-smoky-review

Other things worth mentioning –

I’ll be starting work on a brand new project soon, it’s top secret at the moment I’m afraid, but further details will follow in due course – keep your eyes peeled on Twitter! I’m also off to London on Friday for my work’s summer party which I’m really excited about. I think I’ll try to keep away from the shops while I’m there – Selfridges is calling me though! 😀

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Hi Guys!

I hope you’re having a great weekend? It’s Sunday again, and I must admit I’m feeling slightly hungover. And by slightly I mean I’ve been laying on the sofa all day with my red blanket, not sure if I wanted to eat anything or if the thought of food made me want to be sick, drinking pint after pint of water. Yeah I can’t drink like I used to. I used to be the classic weekend binge drinker, but now I’m ‘grown up’ and ‘more mature’ I literally hardly ever drink these days, so my friends wedding in a brewery, then reception in a pub yesterday was a bit of a shock to the system! It was a lovely day though and we really did have the best time. I’m just feeling it today!

Ok so this week I’ve been pretty busy, I’ve been working lots of shifts and I also had a cheeky trip to London on Thursday. I went for a rather fancy facial treatment, and a couple of beauty events in the evening where I heard about some gorgeous new products. I’ll be writing about these later in the week so keep an eye out for my posts!

Here’s this week’s top five –

Fresh Fig Signature Candle from The White Company (£20.00) – I do love a good candle, and this brand new offering from The White Company is right up my street. Described as ‘like sitting beneath a sun-warmed fig tree in Provence’, it has notes of fresh fig, succulent cassis, citrus and tomato-leaf, as well as vetivert and a touch of sweet lilac to create this beautiful and elegant scent.

TeckNet Power Bank from Amazon (£12.97) – I don’t actually know how I’ve survived this long without a power bank. I guess I’ve been travelling a bit more lately, and you’ll know as soon as you turn your data on your phone, it just drains your battery. On the train to London my battery went down by nearly 25% after just an hour’s worth of usage and one phone call. So my new power bank really did come in handy. You just plug it into your laptop to charge via USB, then obviously remember to take with with you when you travel, and just plug your phone into it when you’re in need of a bit of juice. Easy!

NUVA Spring Water – I’ve been trying to get away from the energy drinks lately. I’m a creature of habit, and will often find myself reaching for one more because I’m used to it, rather than being thirsty. So I’ve been carrying bottles of NUVA Spring Water around with me instead. This is a natural spring water with a ‘kiss’ of extracts and flavours. Containing no sugar, sweeteners or preservatives, Melon and Jasmine is my favourite flavour, with a lovely blend of Honeydew Melon and a hint of floral Jasmine.

THX Hair Straighteners in Pink (£18.00) – I try not to style or straighten my hair too often, as my hair is not in the best condition, and I don’t want to make it worse than it already is. These nifty little straighteners tick all the boxes for me though, firstly they’re pink! They also have ceramic coated plates, they heat up within 30 seconds and also offer variable temperature, which is perfect for my delicate locks. Oh and they’re also cheap as chips 🙂

Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Laque Liquid Lipstick in Feeling Reddy (£8.99) – I love a strong red lip for a night out or a wedding, and I decided to use my beloved NARS Matte Pencil in Dragon Girl, with this amazing Bourjois Aqua Laque lipstick on top in Feeling Reddy. The finished look was the most intense red shade – that stayed put – with a glossy finish.

In case you missed it – My Makeup Atelier Paris Top Picks have been on the blog this week, I’m officially in love with their primer and foundation. Have a read and let me know what you think!

makeup-atelier-paris-review

Other things worth mentioning –

I’m now officially a regional representative for The 30 + Blog Collective, woo hoo! I’ll be covering the whole of East Anglia, arranging events including coffee mornings, general meet ups, dinners and all sorts of things locally. If you’re age 30+ and based in East Anglia, please do sign up to the 30+ Blog Collective site and drop me and email or tweet so I can make sure you’re on my personal list too.

I’ve also got a whole load of giveaways coming up over the next couple of weeks, I don’t want to give too much away but there will be some amazing beauty goodies, as well as tickets up for grabs!

I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx

Hi Guys!

Happy Sunday! This week has been a bit of a funny one for me – I feel like I say that a lot actually! My son has been poorly with a virus and now he’s better he’s passed it to my husband and I, thanks! We’ve both now got some weird lump thing on our tongues which is pretty strange, and it hurts to talk and eat, which is never fun! So I’ve been feeling a bit rotten for the last few days really! In better news though, we also went to a good friend’s wedding yesterday which was a lot of fun, the weather held out and Fred had a great time playing with the other children. By the end of the night all the girls were on the dance floor doing the Macarena, and now I’m left with a slightly fuzzy head today 🙂

I’m also off to London next week with some exciting things planned – all will be revealed soon, and I’m planning to visit one of my blogger chums, Ting from The Ting Thing in Birmingham soon too which is really exciting! It’s basically going to be two full days of shopping, eating and gossiping about makeup!

Here’s this week’s top five

L.A.B.2 Strokes Of Genius Eye Brush Set (£18.99) – This is a brand new brand to me, and even though I’ve only just started using these brushes, I’m super impressed already! This Eye Brush Set includes five must have eye brushes, including an Eyeshadow Brush, Crease Brush, Pointed Eyeliner Brush, Brow & Liner Brush, and Brow & Lash Groomer. Each brush comes with soft touch handle and includes FiberLuxe Technology, which is described as ‘the softest and highest quality filaments for professional results every time’. They promise superior pigment pick-up and release, even colour distribution and precise makeup application. For the price of this set, I’m really impressed so far!

Next is the Palm Skater Dress by Simply Be (£45.00) – I decided last week that I’d better buy a new frock for my friend’s wedding, and ended up in one of my favourite shops – Simply Be. Apart from stocking some gorgeous clothes, I can honestly say the Norwich store has some of the nicest shop floor staff I’ve ever some across. I purchased the super pretty Palm Skater Dress as apart from having a lovely pattern, it’s also the perfect style for my bottom-heavy shape. I love the print, and the fact that it’s black and white so you can accessorise with pretty much any colour imaginable!

The Book of Summer Beauty by ESPA (£24.99) – You can’t beat a surprise in the post! And I was over the moon when I received a beautifully packaged parcel from ESPA this week. The Limited Edition Book of Summer Beauty includes ESPA’s three summer beauty essentials – including the Optimal Skin ProSerum to even skin tone and restore radiance, 24 hour Replenishing Moisturiser to prevent the early signs of ageing and Pink Hair and Scalp Mud to condition hair and scalp. Expect a full review coming up within the next month or so.

Be Legendary Matte Lipstick by Smashbox (£16.00) – I’m a big fan of a matte lip, and Smashbox’s new collaboration with Instagram star and artist, Donal Richardson includes a new matte shade collection that’s just spot on for the summer. I have the shade Paris Pink, which is a beautiful and wearable matte pink shade. The formula includes vitamins and antioxidants to nourish and protect the lips, with an lovely creamy formula.

And lastly, this week’s TV obsession has been Big School. If you haven’t heard of Big School, it’s a new comedy series on Netflix, starring a couple of my favourite comedy actors – David Walliams and Catherine Tate. Big School tells the story of school life from the teacher’s point of view, and the antics they get up to. I won’t tell you anymore, you’ll have to watch it!

In case you missed it – I’m currently holding a giveaway with QVC where two winners will win two Soapsmith sets each, and I’ve also just reviewed some beautiful new Autumn releases from Clarins on the blog too…

clarins-autumn-collection-review

Other things worth mentioning –

I’ve ben doing a *little* bit of shopping lately, and I’m really excited because I’ve signed up to a new subscription box, which should arrive in early August. Keep your eyes peeled to find out which one it is! And I also have plans in place to finish off my office (which I know I keep going on about) but I feel like I’m finally getting somewhere this time, so I’ll tell you all about it as soon as it’s done 🙂

I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx

Hi Guys!

Well it’s the end of another week already, so it’s time for this weeks’ Sunday Weekly Top 5 post! I’ve been really busy working extra shifts this week, which has actually been great as I feel completely settled in with my new job now 🙂

I had a pretty good week up until yesterday. I was supposed to be going to an all day and night hen party, but came down with terrible anxiety and didn’t / couldn’t go. My anxiety creeps up on my like a thief in the night, I’ll be fine for ages then all of a sudden I’ll just feel terrible. After cancelling on my friend and being eaten up by guilt I ended up sleeping the whole day. I woke up feeling much better but had to just write the day off in the end, which was a shame.

Onwards and upwards anyway hey! Here’s this weeks top five –

Ghost Adventures – Ghost Adventures is actually a long time favourite of mine. My husband records them and we seem to be watching an episode pretty much every night now. If you haven’t heard of Ghost Adventures, it’s basically like a modern day, real life Ghostbusters! The team; Zak, Aaron and Nick take their high tech equipment to haunted locations and try to catch ghosts on camera or voice recorder. I was actually a bit spooked by this when I first started watching it, but I think I’m used to it now!

Freya Starlet Vertical Seam Bra in Electric Blue – (£36.00) You really can’t beat new undies to make you feel good! The Freya Starlet Vertical Seam Bra is a first for me from Freya and it’s just gorgeous! It has electric blue coloured sheer cups with a geometric lace pattern and contrasting polka dot bows to complete the look. I love that it’s so bright and pretty, and it fits like a dream. I just need the undercrackers to match now! 😀

6 Vitamin Shot Drink – (£24.99 for 12) I’m quite partial to the odd energy drink, so it’s great to come across one that’s actually been crated by expert nutritionists. 6vitaminshot is described as your one stop vitamin energy shot, giving you your recommended vitamin allowance as well as much more. The precise mix of ingredients has been developed by expert nutritionists to offer six key benefits;

  • Supporting energy release
  • Supporting concentration
  • Reduction of tiredness and fatigue
  • Supporting the immune system
  • Mental function and performance
  • Sugar free

Malin + Goetz Lip Moisturiser (£10.00) – I’ve tried countless lip balms in my time, and this is officially the best I’ve found so far. This lip moisturizer is a hydrating gel which provides lips with daily protection helping to prevent dryness and chapped lips, as well as acting as a treatment to restore and replenish already dry lips. Unlike other oils and balms, this Lip moisturiser contains absorbent fatty acids which nourish upon impact whilst providing a continual layer of hydrating protection throughout the day. If you have dry lips, I really can’t recommend this enough.

And lastly, this week’s go-to eyeliner of choice has been Empire by Urban Decay. Empire is a gorgeous deep aubergine shade with a metallic finish. I usually go for blue shades over purples but fancied a change and popped this little beauty in my makeup bag. I’ve been using it every day and I think I’ve found a new love for purple eyeliners! Please let me know if you have any other brighter purple shades you can recommend to me as I’d love to get some more.

In case you missed it –

La-Prairie-Anti-Aging-Rapid-Response-Booster

This week’s most popular blog post has definitely been Eight Accessory Ideas To Improve Your Blog Photographs where I’ve included a few ideas to inspire if you’re looking to up your photography game. Take a look and let me know what you think!

Other things worth mentioning –

I want to give massive thanks to Charlotte from F and R Designs for making my awesome new media kit! I actually never thought I needed a media kit up until recently, but over the last few months I’ve had a few requests from PR’s and companies for me to send my kit over so I thought it would be a good idea to get one done. If you’re thinking of getting a media kit made, I’d highly recommend Charlotte, apart from being lovely, she’s very talented and will listen to you to achieve what you’re looking for. Her Media Kit design services are currently on offer for £25 until the end of the month.

And lastly, it seems there’s been quite a lot of ‘blogging issues’ posts going around lately, from blogger burnout, to ‘we’re not appreciated’ type posts and discussing the difficulties blogger face (Which I completely agree with by the way) This is why I wanted to mention Jemma from Dorkface, I’ve recently discovered her blog, which is a mixture of beauty, lifestyle and kawaii cuteness! And I especially love her 10 Favourite Things About Blogging post, which focussed on the positive aspects of blogging. It’s always great to remind yourself why you blog, and what you enjoy about it.

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Hi Guys!

You’ve probably noticed I’ve had a few weeks off from my weekly Sunday posts, well now I’m back in the game and determined to post my weekly roundup EVERY SUNDAY. Yep I’m determined. Ok so this week I’ve been pretty busy – I’ve been settling into my new job, which is going really well, and I’ve also been having lots of fun in the sun with Fred, playing in his new massive paddling pool at my parents house!

I’ve also been attempting to sort out my ridiculous makeup and skincare stash – I have a slight hoarding problem but I NEED to get over it and throw away, give away and sell a load of stuff. My office is being taken over by products, so I’ve started sorting through everything, and I’m aiming to be finished by the end of the week. I’ll hopefully be doing a blog sale with some of the items I no longer want, so keep an eye out for this next week!

And lastly, my massive £700 giveaway has also just ended, and the winner has just been emailed – thanks so much to everyone that entered! If you missed out this time though don’t worry, I have another giveaway that’s just gone live where you can win a 12 month Glossybox subscription!

This week’s favourites –

As we’ve been out in the sun a lot lately, I’m always careful to use sunscreen. I’m really quite pale, and Fred is even fairer than me, so I’ve been making sure we’re both creamed up! I’ve started using La Roche Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50 Comfort Cream (£15.50) this week and it really is a great product. I love that this cream has a super high SPF of 50, as well as being specially formulated for sensitive and sun intolerant skins. It’s easy to apply, moisturising, and non greasy. This cream ticks all the boxes for me!

La Roche Posay also has a really sweet video on Youtube, reminding you to help check your loved ones beauty spots and moles –

Another favourite product from this week has been the Silk Oil of Morocco Fibre Brow Enhancer (£19.99) Now I must admit, as much as I love makeup, from buying it to applying it, I’ve always been a bit lacking in the brow skills department. I usually just give them a quick once over with a brow pencil – and they never look particularly amazing. I just took it that brows wern’t my thing! Anyway, the Fibre Brow Enhancer recently arrived in the post and it’s been a lifesaver! It’s basically super tiny fibres that you brush onto your brows to make them look fuller and thicker. I have really fine and sparse brows so this is definitely the product for me. You literally just apply directly to your brows with the want provided, it takes no time at all, and the product ‘sets’ in 60 seconds too which is handy, and can be removed easily with warm water.

I’ve also been using the Bio Clinica Plus Beauty Treatment (£9.95) this week. This moisturiser is composed of a combination of valuable mineral extracts – from pearls, silk and crystals along with clinically proven plant substances. This is a specially formulated anti-ageing product that protects from dry skin, loss of elasticity, the forming of wrinkles, age related redness, and fatigued eyes. Now I’m the wrong side of 30, I’m up for trying any product that promises to help with the signs of ageing! This Bio Clinica cream contains collagen, aloe vera, allantoines, bisabolol, soy and sesame oil, which can contribute to tightening and firming the skin. I haven’t been using this product very long at all, but I already feel that my complexion is looking brighter!

My drink of choice this week appears to have been Lucozade Pink Lemonade, I have no idea why but I can’t get enough of it at the moment! 🙂

And lastly, my latest Netflix obsession has been Rupaul’s Drag Race! I remember watching one of the first seasons a long time ago, so when I saw this pop up on my recommended list I had to take a look. The queens were just fabulous, as expected, and I just love everything about this show – the divas, the dramas, the ridiculous and amazing makeup and outfits, and especially when when they have to ‘Lip synch… for your life’. If you haven’t seen this series yet you need to check it out!

Other things worth mentioning –

I’ve just had three Colourpop Lippie Stix arrive! YAY! If you haven’t heard of Colourpop they’re a cheap as chips US brand that have been taking the beauty word by storm, with their massive range of affordable products. Just take a look on Youtube and you’ll see what I mean. Colourpop currently only ship to the US though, so I bought these second hand from my #Bbloggers Beauty Swaps and Sales Facebook group and I’m so excited! Keep your eye out for a review coming up very shortly.

And lastly I wanted to include a mention of one of Hayley LBQ’s latest posts – the 30-Something Blog Collective. Hayley has recognised there really is a massive collective of bloggers aged 30 and over, but blogging is still seen as a youngsters game. She wants to let the world know that WE ARE HERE! We have a voice, and we’re not afraid to tell you what we like and what we don’t like. Take a look at her post for all the details 🙂

I hope you’re having a great weekend and that you enjoyed my post xxx

Hi Guys!

Happy Monday! Well this last week has been pretty awesome! It was Freddy’s 4th and my 31st birthday on Friday (check out my awesome birthday giveaway here where you can win over £700 of prizes!) I saw my lovely chum Laura on my birthday morning for cake and fun and spent the afternoon playing with Fred and putting together his new Lego. He’s obsessed with Lego at the moment! He had a birthday party on Saturday at the local soft play centre which was just crazy, there were zillions of kids running around, and he had the best time! I then went out with my friends on Saturday night for tapas in Norwich and a few cocktails, and spent yesterday recovering!

At this point I have a confession. This post was supposed to be published yesterday, and for the last nine weeks I’ve been rather pleased with myself for sticking to my regular Sunday posting schedule but yesterday I basically layed on the sofa and binge watched OITNB. This is Orange is the New Black in case you’re not down with the lingo. The latest series was released on Netflix on Friday and I promised myself I’d pace myself and only watch one of two episodes a day, but I completely binged yesterday and I’m now up to episode 9 – oops!

So anyway, here are the things I’ve been loving last week!

Slim Fast Milkshakes (£1.60) – I started the Slim Fast 3.2.1 diet last week and I’m pretty impressed with myself so far for sticking to it – apart from my birthday treats but that doesn’t count right!? It definitely helps that I love their products, and the Vanilla and Strawberry shakes are definitely my favourites out of their range. I’ve been having these as meal replacements throughout the week and I really recommend them just because they’re so tasty!

Tom Ford Black Orchid EDP (from £43.99 for 30ml) – This is one of my favourite ever perfumes but it’s kind of been unloved and pushed to the back of the shelf in favour of lighter more summery fragrances lately. I brought it out again last week and reminded myself how much I love it, this scent also brings back some great memories for me! Unfortunately I’ve just ran out too, so I’ll need to purchase a new bottle very soon!

OITNB – see above 🙂

Benefit Feelin’ Dandy Set (£25.50) – Fred bought me this for my birthday (clever boy!) I haven’t had any new makeup from Benefit for such a long time so I’m really excited to try this set out. It contains four mini products including High Beam which is one of my favourite ever highlighters.

Gin & Tonic Lip Balm (£5.50) – My stupid lips have been really dry – again. I’ve been applying this G&T balm on a daily basis and found it to be excellent at moisturising my lips. It doesn’t smell that much like G&T though unfortunately but it’s definitely a great little lip balm that does the job!

I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx

The Weekly Top 5 #9 (Plus Exciting News!)

Hi Guys!

It’s been a pretty crazy week for me, I was going to save this for a separate post but there’s no time like the present hey! Basically I was made redundant, which was pretty weird as I’d been at my job for nearly seven years, but it isn’t actually a bad thing because now I can blog full time! I also freelance in blogger outreach and social media management, so hopefully I’ll be able to do more of that too. It’s pretty scary being 100% self employed (rather than self employed and employed at the same time as I was before) but I think this is the push I needed to take things to the next level with my blog. I’m looking forward to working harder and dedicating more time to writing. Exciting times!! So basically this week I’ve been chilling out and having a much needed rest, tidying the house and getting used to my new found freedom!

I’ve been making good use of my Personal Planner Blog Planner, getting posts planned and scheduled in, making notes of things I need to remember and generally getting myself up to date with things. If you’re thinking about buying a blog planner you should definitely check this site out, I love that you can completely customise your planner so it suits your needs, as well as choosing your front cover, and they also come in a variety of sizes to suit everyone.

The sun has most definitely had his hat on this week, I’ve been having a great time playing with Fred and making the most of the weather. My ASOS Fine Frame Cat Eye Sunglasses With Flash Lens (£10.00) have been on my face all week, I LOVE these sunnies! You can’t see from the picture but they have asweome coloured mirror shine lenses.

I flirt constantly with coloured eyeliner, but found myself recently in a CBA mood and not wearing any makeup at all, I’ve been basically in a complete funk, but now (maybe because I’m ‘free’?) I’ve been feeling pretty awesome and starting busting out my trusty Bourjois Contour Clubbing Eyeliner in Bleu Neon (£4.99) This is the most amazing electric blue eyeliner – everyone should own one.

This week I’ve found myself wearing a rather interesting scent – Eau Des Minimes Cologne (£19.00) This unisex scent really matches the current weather, it includes fresh sparkling citrus notes of lemon, blood orange and grapefruit, as well as seven plants chosen for their beneficial properties. This fragrance gives a feeling of freshness and wellbeing, boosting your mood and energising the skin.

And lastly I had a surprise package arrive from Neve Cosmetics, their brand new Yumtint Lip Balm (£TBC) This sweet little twist up balm hydrates while intensifying the colour of the lips with a pretty and easy to wear strawberry tint. Something about the packaging and the light strawberry scent reminds me of children’s makeup, you know the lip and nail ‘tints’ for little ones? This may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I love the burst of nostalgia! This will be available from June 10th.

I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to this week? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Hi Guys!

I hope you’re having a great weekend? You may have noticed I’ve been a bit quiet for the last couple of days, we’ll I’ve had two days off – and by ‘off’ I mean pretty much no social media and no blogging. It’s been rather nice not being glued to the laptop actually, but now I have a zillion emails to catch up with and just as many blog posts to plan – that’ll teach me for having a break hey! We went to a friends wedding on Friday and stayed over, then had to come home in the morning for a quick freshen up and to drop Freddy off with his grandparents before zipping off to Radio One’s One Big Weekend yesterday. Both days were fantastic and I’m officially knackered and coming down with a nasty cold now, meh! Here are the things I’ve been loving this week –

Radio One’s Big Weekend – Of course! I’d been looking forward to this ever since it was first announced, and when I managed to get hold of a pair of Saturday tickets I was over the moon! Unfortunately we got stuck in traffic and missed the first couple of acts, one being Snoop Dogg who I’m told was amazing. I also heard on the grapevine that he was a complete diva with his demands at the hotel he was staying at in Norwich, how funny! Anyway the weather was perfect – warm but not too hot and I was so excited to finally see two of my favourite bands, Years and Years and Rudimental. We really had the best day and even though I wasn’t drinking I actually feel like I’m hung over today because I’m so tired and full of cold!

Victor & Rolf Bon Bon Fragrance – I bought this in a blog sale about a month or so ago and I’ve just got round to using it. Bon Bon has the sweetest prettiest scent, it’s very girly with top notes of mandarin, orange and peach, heart notes of caramel, jasmine and orange blossom, and base notes of cedarwood, guaiac wood, sandalwood and amber. It’s the perfect summer evening fragrance.

Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier Hand & Nail Balm (£6.00) – Admittedly I’m not usually one for hand cream, as I don’t suffer with dry hands or have any other hand issues that might need cream, but I have found myself reaching for this Hand & Nail Balm this week just because it smells beautiful and makes my hands feel soft and supple and just nice! This balm contains shea butter, aloe vera and fig extract, to nourish and protect dry hands, whilst offering long lasting hydration and a mattifying finish on the skin.

Foreo Luna For All Skin Types (£149) – I’ve only just started using the Luna For All Skin Types so I won’t go into too much detail as I’ll be writing up a full review shortly. The Foreo Luna is a soft silicone brush that deeply cleanses skin whilst reducing signs of ageing, it uses T-Sonic technology to thoroughly cleanse by channelling sonic pulsations across the skin’s surface to unblock pores and remove impurities. It’s completely water proof, easy to clean, and rechargeable. So far I’m really impressed with this product but keep you eye out for my full review coming soon.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Instant Glow Enhancer (£14.00) – I’m instantly attracted to any product that promises to make my complexion ‘glow’ be more ‘radiant’ or more ‘healthy’ – seriously if I see any of these buzz words on a product I’ll want to try it!! The Body Shop’s Instant Glow Enhancer is basically a tinted moisturiser in their Vitamin C group of products. It’s perfect for giving a hint of glow to the complexion – I have very fair skin and it just makes me look a bit healthier and more alive! It’s also a great multi tasker that can be used on it’s own for a natural look or under foundation as a primer.

I’d love to hear what you’ve been loving this week? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx
