In a similar vein I also have the stunning BDK Parfums Velvet Tonka EDP. Velvet Tonka is BDK’s latest fragrance launch, it’s a floriental woody scent created in tribute to the Moroccan origins of founder David Benedek. Velvet Tonka is sweet, indulgent and addictive, opening with notes of orange blossom and sugary powdered almond. A heart of rose and tobacco then leads to a velvety warm dry down of tonka, vanilla and amber. Velvet Tonka is both sweet and powdery – but not overly so – it’s almost, but not quite gourmand, and it’s perfectly well blended, and quite unisex in my opinion. It definitely has that BDK DNA that fans of the brand will recognise, it really is a beautiful, elegant scent.

‘When worn on the skin, it coats it like an oriental delicacy dusted with icing sugar. The balmy tonka bean is adorned with almonds and rose petals for a velvety touch, and with a hint of tobacco absolute to give it a honeyed feel.
