The Weirdest Nail Colour Ever??

Posted on August 26, 2014

Hi Guys!

Ok so today I have a bit of a weird coloured nail polish to show you. This is the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine polish in Olive 420. I was sent this to review, and my instant thoughts were – it looks like mould  / new baby poo / some sort of fungus, and I wasn’t actually going to review it because of the hideous colour. But I decided to persevere and try it on my actual nails first before passing judgement. Well, the colour is still an odd muted olive green – in some lights it looks grey and in others it looks very green. I want to say if you have the right skin tone you could probably pull this colour off, but I’m not even sure if that’s entirely true, as I can’t imagine this looking good on anyone really! The formula however, is great! I really love the super high shine finish of the Gelly polishes so there’s no complaints there! But this is definitely a marmite type colour, you’ll either love it or hate it. Let me know what you think! xxx

folli follie rose gold rings

Hi Guys!

Happy Wednesday everyone! Well, I was recently very lucky to be sent some gorgeous jewellery and nail polishes to show you, I have some stunning rings from Folli Follie, and some lovely Essie nail polishes, how exciting! It was like an early birthday present!! (FYI my birthday is on the 12th of June, please feel free to send cake!)

I have all the things a girl could need to make your hands and nails gorgeous and glamorous –

A Folli Follie Match & Dazzle Ring, Dazzling Ring and Elements Ring. Soap & Glory Hand Food, Essie Anti-Age Top Coat and polishes in Go Overboard, Not just A Pretty Face and Hors D’oeuvres.

I’m completely in love with these polishes, especially Go Overboard! It’s a gorgeous deep teal colour and only takes one coat to be completely opaque, it’s amazing! It has a fabulous glossy finish to it too (I didn’t use the top coat in the end) and it lasted a good few days without chipping! Happy days! 😀

How gorge are these colours!? The Not Just A Pretty Face (pink) polish needed a minimum of two coats as it was fairly sheer, and Hors D’oeuvres (silver) looked great with two coats. I currently have this on my toes.

And just look at the jewelzzzz!!! Rose gold is definitely my favourite colour for jewellery, and these rings satisfy my jewellery cravings perfectly. I’m in love with the massive Elements cocktail ring. I’m definitely going to wear this when my other half takes me out for a special birthday meal… hint hint 😉

I’d love to hear about your favourite jewellery!?

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

NOTD and Suay Design Jewellery Giveaway!

Posted on June 3, 2013

Another nails post, I know, I know, I can’t help myself! I love painting my nails, after all the miserable weather we’ve been having it really cheers me up, and after all the stress of wedding planning it’s a good excuse to sit down and relax!

As you can probably tell I like to mix up the colours on my nails – why use one polish when you can use all the colours of the rainbow!?

Well, maybe just three today, I think they go really well together!

I thought I’d have a day off from nail art and glitter, what do you think?

I’ve used the lovely deep blue Color Club polish in ‘Insta-This’ from my French beauty box swap, Barry M ‘Cyan Blue’ and Topshop ‘Big Smoke’.

This is also a great opportunity to show off my awesome new bracelets from Suay Design! Suay Design are an online jewellery store with a massive range of jewellery on offer. If you’re looking for wedding ring Suay is a great place to shop for titanium and tungsten rings – titanuim being a popular choice at the moment due to being great value for money and its durability. They also have many different jewellery styles available, you really are spoilt for choice! Check out the site to see what I mean… I now have my eye on a gorgeous rose gold watch 🙂

And for the lovely Suay Design bracelets – I’m wearing Metallic Pearl Leather Double Wraparound Bracelet with Charms Bracelet, Orlando white Leather Bracelet and Yukata Gold Leather Bracelet.

These bracelets come in beautiful black velvet pouches, and would make fabulous gifts!

OPI The Great and Powerful Oz Collection Nail Polish WIN!

Posted on May 26, 2013

How excited was I to find out I’d won the entire OPI Oz collection of nail polishes from HQ Hair! Yippeee!! I felt a bit special being randomly picked by Rafflecopter from 8643 entries!

I was going to do a blog post on the polishes but my previous Lime Crime nail polish has stained my nails, and the nude pink base coloures in the OPI collection are very sheer and I’ve tried but they won’t cover the green staining of some of my nails.

So instead I thought I’d try out a couple more Lime Crime colours with the OPI glitter topcoats. I know these are very opaque so there will be no problem covering my discoloured nails.

I’ve used Lime Crime ‘Milky Ways’ which is the nude colour, and ‘Lavindairy’ for the ring finger. I then tried a couple of the OPI glitter topcoats. ‘Which is Witch?’ is on the middle finger and ‘Lights of emerald City’ is on my thumb.

I just did a quick pattern in white on my index finger and thought I’d show off my new charm rings from H&M!

I found I had to put ‘Lights of Emerald City’ on really thickly to get the glitter out and move the shapes around with the brush for even coverage. I was in a bit of a rush as my little boy was demanding my attention so you can see below that the glitter has sunk into the Lime Crime polish underneath as I didn’t give it long enough to dry.

I love the holographic hexes in “Which is Witch?’ this polish was much easier to manipulate and get an even spread of glitter.

Overall I really like these two glitters! Have you tried out this collection? xx
