Cohorted May 2016 Beauty Box Review

Posted on May 17, 2016

Hi Guys!

Time seems to be flying at the moment – surely it hasn’t been a month since Cohorted’s last box landed on my doorstep?? Well it has! May’s box has just landed, so let’s take a look inside…

  • theBalm Voyage Vol 2 Palette, worth £37.50.
  • Hourglass Opaque Rouge Gloss in shade Canvas, worth £23.00.
  • HJ Manicure Nail Polish in shade Lavender, worth £9.50.
  • Jimmy Choo EDP 4.5ml, worth £10.00.

Total value of box: £80.00

Ok so on first glance, this box isn’t quite as exciting as last month’s in my opinion, just because there’s only three products in here plus a luxury sample, whereas last month there were five full sized products, with one also being a kit. So this box does seem a bit sparse in comparison.

theBalm Voyage Vol 2 Palette has to be the stand out product though, doesn’t it? This palette is basically an all-in-one travel palette, including pretty much everything you could need when on the go. The palette includes nine eyeshdows in neutral, easy to wear shades, ranging from light to dark so you’d be able to get quite a few looks out of these. There’s also a highlighter, a bronzer, two blush shades and two multi-purpose lip and cheek shades. This is a lovely little set and would definitely come in handy if you like to travel light.

Next is the Hourglass Opaque Rouge Gloss in Canvas. Now this has to be the least glossy lip gloss I’ve ever used! Not that I’m complaining – but this is way closer to a liquid lipstick than a gloss. This product gives no shine, and sets to a matte finish on the lips. I really like it! But it’s not a gloss by any means. The shade Canvas is really nice too – it’s a mid tone pink which will suit most complexions.

The HJ Manicure Nail Polish in Lavender feels like a bit of a filler product to me, if you know what I mean – it’s nice enough but I’m not really excited by it. It is a good sized bottle of polish though, with 14.8ml of product – which will probably last you forever. The shade I have is Lavender which is a mid toned purple, with a cream finish.

And lastly the Jimmy Choo EDP, this is a lovely everyday fragrance, in a deluxe size 4.5ml sample bottle. This is handy to keep in your bag so you don’t need to carry around a large bottle of perfume with you – my only niggle here though is I do feel this has been over-valued at £10. You can currently pick up a 60ml bottle of this fragrance for under £27.00.

Though I do feel slightly underwhelmed with this box, it’s by no means terrible at all. I’m looking forward to trying out theBalm palette especially!

Do you have this box? I’d love to hear your thoughts. I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Cohorted March 2016 Beauty Box Review

Posted on March 13, 2016

Hi Guys!

I hope you’re having a great weekend?

The latest box from Cohorted has just landed this week, and as usual I can’t wait to see what’s inside! Let’s take a look –

  • theBalm Nude Tude Palette, worth £30.00
  • PIXI Crayon Combo in Supernatural, worth £14.50
  • Nails Inc Nail Polish in Cadogan Square, worth £5.95
  • Bare Minerals Heavenly Face Brush, worth £14.50
  • theBalm Put A Lid on It Primer, 3.7ml sample worth £3.00

Total value of box – £67.95

Ok so this is a pretty decent looking box! The main product here has to be the theBalm Nude Tude Eyeshadow Palette – this is a gorgeous palette, and I should mention that it was actually also included in September’s box too, as well as the Put A Lid on It primer sample – so if you’re a regular monthly subscriber who received that box you may be disappointed to receive the same products again this month. If you didn’t receive September’s box though, I think this is a fantastic palette packed with every day neutral shades, and it will be very well received.

Next we have the Bare Minerals Heveanly Face Brush, which is another product I thought I’d seen before. I double checked this and found it was in fact included in April’s box last year. Again it’s a fab little face brush and I have no complaints at all about the product itself, but those that picked up April’s box may be a bit disappointed to see the same product again.

We also have a Nails Inc Nail Polish in Cadogan Square in here, which is quite an interesting shade. It’s kind of a warm light caramel, and it’s also a cream shade so there’s no sparkle or shimmer here. I think this is a bit of a marmite colour where some will love it and some won’t be quite so keen on it.

And lastly the PIXI Crayon Combo in Supernatural, now I’m sure this should have been in last month’s box, but it was replaced for me with a Dove product. I don’t have the booklet from last months box any more though so I can’t check. I’ve also just had a quick look through Twitter and it would seem that everyone received the Dove product rather than the PIXI pencil last month. Maybe Cohorted had stock issues and it was supposed to be in last months’ box? I don’t know. Either way I’m really glad I have it now – I love PIXI products and this is a fantastic multi purpose duo pencil which can be used as an eyeliner or smudged out over the lid as an eyeshadow.

So overall, I think this box is a bit hit and miss. If you haven’t purchased any of the other boxes I’ve mentioned above, then I think most customers will really be pretty pleased with March’s offerings. Personally though I do feel it’s a bit disappointing seeing products repeated. I’d love to know if you have this box and what you think of it?

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Cohorted September Beauty Box | Review

Posted on September 13, 2015

Hi Guys!

September’s Cohorted box has just landed, and boy is it a good one! Here’s what’s included –

  • theBalm Nude Tude Eyeshadow Palette, worth £35.00
  • theBalm Put A Lid On It Eyelid Primer (3.7ml) worth £2.64
  • Gucci Premier Shower Gel (50ml) worth £7.50
  • NARS Velver Matte Lip Pencilin Walkyrie, full size worth £19.00
  • Molton Brown Seamoss Bath & Shower Gel (50ml) worth £6.00

Total value = £70.14

What an amazing selection hey!

The stand-out product from this month’s box is easily the theBalm Nude Tude Eyeshadow Palette. I can’t tell you how excited I was to find this in my box, I’ve been keen to try theBalm products for a while now but just hadn’t got around to buying anything yet. The Nude Tude Eyeshadow palette is one of their most famous products, containing a selection of 12 nude toned eyesahdows, from the lightest white shade to almost black. This palette contains mostly shimmer shades (with only four mattes) and they’re just so pretty. This palette is perfect for every day wear, as well as creating a smoky eye. I’ll have a full review coming up on it soon.

Cohorted have also included a sample of theBalm’s Put A Lid On It Eyelid Primer. This is quite a small sample with only 3.7ml of product, but there’s easily enough there to give you a handful of uses – so it’s definitely a great introduction to the brand’s products. I’ll be trying this out with the Nude Tude Eyeshadow palette so I’ll report back on my findings then!

Next is the Gucci Premier Shower Gel. This is reminiscent of July’s box which included a Gucci Guilty Black Shower Gel in 50ml, also worth £7.50. As I said with July’s product, this is not something I’d usually purchase, but it really does smell delicious and I’m glad it was in this month’s box.

I’m always happy to receive a Molton Brown product, and this Seamoss Bath & Shower Gel is just lovely. It has a beautifully fresh and light scent, which in my opinion is very unisex. I just love Molton Brown bath goodies, so my only complaint is that I wish it was a bigger bottle! (FYI this product is no longer available at Molton Brown, I understand it’s actually been replaced by the Samphire range)

And lastly, the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Walkyrie. I’m SO happy to find this in my box! I have a few NARS Velvet Matte pencils already and they’re just amazing. Their matte pencil in Dragon Girl is one of my favourite products ever for a red matte lip 🙂 Walkyrie (which I have no idea how to pronounce) is a beautiful pinky-brown toned nude. It definitely has a 90’s / Kylie Jenner element to it too, so if that’s your kind of thing, I’d highly recommend trying this pencil out!

Overall this is another amazing box from Cohorted, for less than £20 you really can’t expect much more. Well done Cohorted, keep up the good work!
