Well just take a look at my sexy new clear acrylic makeup storage! Believe it or not, these awesome large Clear Acrylic 3 Tier Drawers are actually made for storing A4 paper, and came from Viking Direct, you know, the stationary company? I was asked by them to review some stationery (which I have a real thing for by the way, I know, weird right) and to look at their site and see what caught my eye. When I saw these acrylic drawers I was like *MAKEUP STORAGE!!!* I was so excited to find these little gems! You can’t see it particularly well due to all the makeups but there’s also a Clear Acrylic 5 Tube Pot at the back there too.
These babies are made of really thick heavy duty acrylic, and they weigh a tonne! They’re as far from flimsy as you can get. There’s no question that you’re getting top quality products here. And for those of you that may have researched acrylic storage, you’ll know how expensive it is. I’ve been looking around for a while and only found storage like this that was in my price range. At £43.49 for two tiny sets of drawers which are no good to me, I had almost given up looking.
So basically I have two sets of three drawer storage chests here, a five tube pot, and the other clear plastic tubs I bought from ebay many moons ago. These were from a private seller so I’m afraid I can’t link you as they’re no longer available. You can just see the Lipstick Storage at the back there, keeping all my MAC’s safe. This is still available on ebay and a bargain at only £4.99 with free delivery.
Ok so I know it’s all a bit messy at the moment. I’ve just set this all up and I’ve moved my makeup around so many times I decided in the end to just leave it! I’m still thinking about changing some bits around, and tidying up the drawers a bit. I also have a chest of drawers that the acrylic storage is sitting on and a desk draw next to them which still need arranging and organising!
Now I know what you’re thinking – ‘Ok great, but how does this compare to Muji?’
Don’t worry I’ve already thought of that, I’ve done a quick rundown of the vital stats below…
So the Viking Direct option is basically (inc vat) three times the cost of the Muji. When you compare the size of them it’s almost twice as big, but not quite. I’ve never tried Muji storage before but I would guess it comes down to preference really, and the space you have – Would you prefer large storage drawers and less of them? Or smaller sized storage drawers but more of them?
As you can see I’ve tried to arrange the drawers into some sort of order, it’s pretty difficult though! I’ll call it a work in progress for now 😉

So what do you think? Will you be checking out Viking direct for your makeup storage solutions? xxx
