I’ve recently been trying out a few of the latest offerings from niche brand Memoize London, and wanted to share my thoughts with you today…

Firstly a bit about the brand. Memoize London is a luxury niche fragrance brand based in the UK – aiming to evoke an emotional connection to the wearer, the name of the brand is derived from the French word for memories. Memoize London is also a cruelty free brand, that aims to be as sustainable as possible. Almost all packaging and components are either recyclable and/or recycled. Their hand finished oak caps are made from wood cut-offs, and the brand also supports small, independent British suppliers for their packaging, with all components and manufacturing completed within an 80 mile radius.

I have three fragrances from their new Harrods exclusive range to share with you today –

Deliciae – meaning delightful / charming / alluring.

Testing Deliciae on paper, this fragrance didn’t initially jump out at me, but wearing this scent on skin really makes the magic happen! Deliciae is a beautiful creamy sweet lemon candy, wrapped in a bouquet of roses, with vanilla, white musk and cedarwood at the base. I honestly don’t think I’ve smelled anything like this before, this is a very pretty, sweet, wearable scent, with a warm vanilla dry down. This is a must try if you’re into sweet vanilla scents – it’s also worth noting if you’re not able to get to Harrods, you can also pick up samples directly from Memoize online.

‘The essence of luxury and grandeur. An unexpected moment of delight, of excitement, of splendour. The feeling of warmth rushing through your blood, the knowledge you’ll remember this feeling for years to come. A magical blend of notes opening with a soft top note of sweet lemon, melting beautifully to a heart of Moroccan and Taif Rose on a base of creamy vanilla, white musk and cedarwood.’

Eximus – meaning extraordinary / special / excellent.

Initially my favourite of the three (but after trying Deliciae on the skin, this might have to be a joint favourite!) Eximus is a beautiful rose-oud scent. Eximus is deep, dark and intense, but without being heavy or cloying. I’m a big fan of Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud and this fragrance is definitely along the same lines, but Eximus is more nuanced when it comes to the rose, it’s missing the sharpness of Velvet Rose & Oud too, and to me feels more refined and luxurious.

‘The essence of the exceptional and the excellent. The memory of your best achievement, when you went the extra mile and it paid off. Your strength, dedication and time results in a proud moment that stays with you always. An exceptional opening of subtly sweet pear blossom and spicy saffron. As the clove and woody oud continue through the heart and base, the vanilla gives an underlying sweetness amidst the spices, woods and earthy patchouli.’

MAGUS – meaning magical / enchanting.

Another beautiful offering from the brand – Magus is an incredibly pretty, feminine scent, with notes of mandarin, cardamom, tonka bean and musk. The effect of this fragrance is creamy, powdery and velvety smooth. This scent is sweet yet fresh, but also quite rich. The cinnamon, cardamom and coriander in this fragrance makes me feel it would be perfect to wear as the temperature starts to cool down and we head towards winter.

‘The essence of magic and enchantment. The memory of a magical moment where something impossible was made possible; the sweet combination of amazement and wonder. Notes of juicy mandarin warmed with a spicy combination of cardamom, cinnamon and coriander seed. A creamy and earthy heart consisting of tonka bean, coconut, violet and patchouli develop into a supporting base of vanilla, amber, musk and benzoin.’
