Christmas: Beauty Stocking Fillers for All Budgets

Posted on December 13, 2017

Hi Guys!

I’m back! I feel like I’ve been out of the loop for a little while as I’ve been pretty ill. Well I’m now on the mend and I’m finally bringing you the first of my Christmas Gift Guides! (At last!) So my first guide is all about beauty stocking fillers – I’ve tried to include a range of products at differing price points so there should be something for everyone. Enjoy!

Starting with the Too Faced White Chocolate Palette (£49.00) – This is one of the latest releases from one of my favourite makeup brands – the Too Faced White Chocolate Palette is in fact a full-sized version of their previous mini White Chocolate Chip palette. It includes 16 pastel shades with both matte and shimmery finishes, and the palette also smells just like white chocolate!

For those that love a luxurious bubble bath, the Philosophy Shimmering Snowlace Shower Gel (£15.00) could be just perfect. Philosophy’s award-winning multi-tasking shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath conditions as it cleanses, leaving skin and hair silky soft and lightly perfumed with an ethereal floral fragrance.

Or how about the Ted Baker Sweet Treats Polly EDT 30ml Fragrance (£18.00) – I love Ted Baker gifts, they’re always beautifully packaged and just gorgeous inside and out, and The Sweet Treats Polly Fragrance is a complete steal at only £13.00 for 30ml. Polly is described as a grown-up yet girly addition to any night out, with fruity top notes of mandarin, red berries and peach, a floral heart of white jasmine, honeysuckle and peony, and a warm base of amber and vanilla topped off with white musk.

I also have the gorgeous Mii Cosmetics Supernova Glitter Glam Duo (£20.00) – This handy little set is the perfect size for a beauty-lover’s stocking. It contains a Luxurious Liquid Liner, to deliver a line of smooth, rich colour that lasts all day, as well as a Supernova Glitter Glam Liner, which is infused with the finest iridescent sparkle, making it the perfect glitter liner for Christmas nights out.

For the liquid lipstick fan, the Stila Warm & Fuzzy Mini Liquid Lipstick Set (£20.00) would just be perfect. This cute little set contains a trio of mini Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks in three must have shades. There’s Beso, a beautiful true red, Caramello, a light nude beige, and Splendore Shimmer, which is a light mauve with a shimmer finish – this one is a special treat as Stila’s Shimmer Liquid Lipsticks won’t be launching individually until the Spring, so definitely keep an eye out for these!

I also have the very affordable Barry M Illuminate & Glow Set (£12.00) – Another fab beauty trio, this time perfect for highlighting the face. This set includes Barry M’s Liquid Chrome Highlighter Drops in Liquid Fortune, an Illuminating Strobe Cream Stick in Galactic, and a Fine Glitter Dust in 28.

On to another favourite brand of mine now. The Sleek Makeup Birthday Suit Pout & Polish Gift Set (£8.50) is definitely worth considering. Sleek have got some really great products out at the moment, and this super cute Pout & Polish Set would make a fantastic stocking filler. It contains a Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream in Birthday Suit, with a matching matte finish Nail Polish.

And the Rahua The Jetsetter Voluminous Duo Set (£15.50) – Rahua isn’t the most well know brand, but they do offer some fantastic haircare products, and I thought this dinky little hair duo would be a welcome find in any beauty lover’s stocking this Christmas. Ideal for those seeking a full, lustrous mane, Rahua’s The Jet Setter Voluminous Duo combines their Voluminous Shampoo and Conditioner in a handy travel sized set.

Another bargain now, the Maybelline Santa Baby Christmas Baby Lips Set (£7.99) is definitely worth picking up. This sweet little set would make the perfect budget friendly stocking filler, containing three of Maybelline’s famous Baby Lips Lip Balms, in Hydrate, Pink Punch, and Cherry Me, this ticks all the boxes for a top beauty gift.

Or how about the Pixi Beauty Lid Lovelies Eyeshadow Palette (£22.00) – Pixi is another favourite brand of mine, and this gorgeous Lid Lovelies Eyeshadow Palette contains a gorgeous selection of 18 tones, from light creamy nudes to intense orange and smokey charcoal, there’s enough shades here to take you easily from day to night.

Going a bit more high end now, how about the Fenty Beauty Match Stix Trio (£46.00) – Fenty Beauty should need no introduction by now, and I really think any beauty fan would be thrilled to find one of Rhianna’s beauty products in their stocking on Christmas morning. The Match Stix Trio contains three long-wear makeup sticks, with two Match Stix Matte Skinsticks to conceal and contour, and one Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick to highlight.

Ok so I absolutely had to include the Kat Von D Everlasting Glimmer Veil Liquid Lipstick (£20.00) – As soon as I saw the new Kat Von D Glimmer Veils I knew I had to try them – and I definitely wasn’t disappointed! These are honestly the most vivid, sparkly and just amazing liquid lipsticks that I’ve ever seen. I’ll be sharing full reviews on the blog soon, but in the meantime just google swatches and you’ll see what I mean!

I thought I’d also include the fab Lime Crime Mermaid Highlighter Palette (£32.00) – This fabulously fun palette contains three colourful highlighters, in shades Seashell: a sparkling lavender, Pearl: a sparkling ivory, and Seafoam: a sparkling blue/green. This is a must have for mermaid fans!

Another brand that alway brings out fun and innovative collections is Kiko. The Kiko Milano Arctic Holiday All In One Palette (£19.90) is definitely wort checking out. You’ll probably know by know that I’m a massive fan of Kiko Cosmetics, and their latest limited edition collection is just perfect for Christmas time. I have a few products from the Arctic Holiday collection, but I wanted to include the All In One Palette here, as it’s a fab, reasonably priced full face and eye palette. It contains two face-sculpting powders, a blush, a highlighter, and 9 eyeshadows.

For nail fans, how about the Jessica Nails Phenomenal Indulgence Set in Nude Thrills (£14.50) – This lovely little set contains Jessica’s best-selling intensive cuticle moisturiser Phenomen Oil, which is the perfect treat for dry nails during the winter months, as well as a Custom Colour Nail Polish in Nude Thrills, which is a pretty nude beige with a touch of sparkle.

And lastly, I have the Zoeva Opulence Eyeshadow Palette and Blush Palette (£18.00 each) – Zoeva always manage to bring out the most gorgeous palettes, and the Opulence collection is no exception. The eyeshadow palette contains ten vibrant shades in a mixture of polished neutrals and vibrant statement colours, in both matte and metallic finishes. The Blush Palette has also been carefully curated to include everything you need for an uplifting, subtly sculpted cheek look, containing two floral-inspired blushers and a shimmering champagne highlighter.

I hope this has given you some inspiration! I’ll have more gift guides coming up very soon 😀 I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Beauty: New Zoeva Palettes, Brushes & Brow Products

Posted on March 27, 2017

Hi Guys!

It’s Monday morning and the sun is shining – I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend?

I have some fantastic new products from Zoeva to share with you today – including new brushes, a load of brow products, and a gorgeous matte palette that has recently launched. Let’s take a look…

Starting with the new Matte Eyeshadow Palette (£17.50- currently out of stock) – This palette is just so beautiful – and the shades are very on trend at the moment. Inspired by the calmness and beauty of a night stroll through the silent streets of a sleeping city, this palette includes a selection of warm nudes, with an injection of bright tones in orange, coral and yellow shades.

At only £17.50, this makes each shadow only £1.75 per pan – you can’t get much better than that! The formula is excellent too, as expected from Zoeva – giving fantastic colour payoff that’s easy to work with and blend.

Zoeva really are all about the brows right now though, and they’ve just released a generous selection of brow products, so however you like style your eyebrows, they’ll have a product that works for you –

The Brow Spectrum Palette (£20.00 at BeautyBay) is described as the ultimate eyebrow kit to help you achieve flawless, professionally groomed arches. The palette features a range of highly pigmented brow powders that are easy to blend together to create customized shades. Zoeva have also added a couple of matte and shimmer highlighters to brighten the eye area and lift the arches, which is a really nice addition.

The Graphic Lash Mascara (£9.00 at BeautyBay) promises to thicken and lengthen lashes with its ultra-pigmented formula and a dense spiral brush, giving instant volume. It separates the lashes for maximum definition, and has a creamy, buildable texture which easily creates natural looking thickness, or layered up giveing you volumized curls.

And the Graphic Brow Fix (£8.50 at BeautyBay) is the perfect one-step product for those looking to both style and tint their brows in one go. The superfine spiral brush applies the gel product which ‘locks’ the brow hair in place whilst tinting it at the same time, leaving you with ultra-groomed and visibly thicker looking brows.

For eyebrows that pop, the Brow Light in Margarethe (£7.50 at BeautyBay) could be just what you need. This jumbo waterproof highlighting crayon gives a lovely, precise matte pearlised line that’s perfect for highlighting the brow bone, or inner corner of the eye.

And lastly the new Graphic Brows (£7.50 at BeautyBay) – if you’re looking for precise, sculpted brows, this is definitely the product for you. This super fine pencil offers a waterproof, smudge proof formula, that lasts all day. The retractable pencil creates precise strokes, mimicking the natural hair and filling in the brows with ease, while the spiral brush grooms into shape and softens the colour, giving a natural-looking, well defined brow.

And lastly, Zoeva have also added five new brushes to their ever-expanding brush collection, of which I have three…

The 137 Petit Fan Brush (£9.00 at BeautyBay) is a super dinky multi-tasking fan, perfect for applying highlighter to brow bone and cupid’s bow, and it’s also small enough to separate eyelashes and remove excess mascara.

The 117 Petit Defined Buffer Brush (£13.00 at BeautyBay) has a small, angled brush head which perfectly adapts to the contours of the face for the precise, comfortable application of foundation and concealer, this is specifically handy to use below the eyes and along the nose.

And the 135 Petit Face Definer Brush (£13.00 at BeautyBay) is another great brush for applying foundation, but this one is really suited more for blending out your concealer and setting loose powder around the eye area.

If you’d like to see any swatches or have any questions please do feel free to drop me a line on one of my social channels. Zoeva products are available now at BeautyBay.

Christmas Gifting with Zoeva: Plaisir Box, Lip Lacquers & Strobe Gels

Posted on December 15, 2016

Hi Guys!

Out of all the beauty brands in the world, Zoeva is definitely up there with my favourites. Their products are always of a high quality, as well as being beautifully packaged. But when their new Plaisir Box arrived a few weeks ago, I actually couldn’t contain my excitement…

The Zoeva Plaisir box (pleasure box) is a beautifully presented gift box containing three of Zoeva’s stunning eyeshadow palettes. The theme of the set is chocolate, with each palette representing a type of chocolate – white, milk and dark. The set contains two brand new palettes – the Blanc Fusion Eyeshadow Palette and Caramel Melange Eyeshadow Palette as well as their best-selling Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette…

An ode to the fine art of confectionary and a revelation to all beauty gourmets and sensualists, the ZOEVA PLAISIR BOX merges the full pleasure and varieties of chocolate, transferred into cosmetics. From dark brown to fawn and white, indulge in a carefully selected assortment of three tempting eyeshadow delights: sumptuous pralinés, creamy caramel and exquisite white chocolate.

The Cocoa Blend Palette is possibly my favourite out of the three. It contains a selection of warm truffle tones with both matte and shimmer finishes, and the shades are both intense in pigmentation and silky smooth to apply. I absolutely love the shade range in this palette, with Warm Notes and Freshly Toasted being two of my favourite shades – this palette is just perfect for create a glamorous evening look.

The Caramel Melange Palette is slightly lighter and brighter in tone than the above Cocoa Blend Palette, but still warm and definitely vibrant. There are some gorgeous bronze and butterscotch shades in this palette, as well as Aftertaste, which I love, it’s a striking matte cinnamon orange, which would make for a beautiful transition shade.

And lastly the Blank Fusion Palette, as you can probably guess this one represents white chocolate, and has a distinct milky white, cream and yellow theme. This palette again contains a lovely mix of matte and shimmer shades, enabling you to create a plethora of eye looks.

When you put all the palettes together, you really have a stunning selection of eyeshadows that can be mixed and matched to your heart’s content 🙂

And if you didn’t know, Zoeva also have a fantastic range of lip products on offer, including their Pure Velour Lips (£9.75) which is a matte finish liquid lipstick offering a lightweight, full coverage formula. I have shades All is Calm – a dark rosy brown shown above top, and Clear Message – a pretty blushed nude, shown above middle.

Zoeva’s Pure Lacquer Lips, in contrast, is a moisturising liquid lipstick with a striking high-shine finish. I have shade Unrefined – a warm beige nude which is highly pigmented with a lovely glossy finish.

And lastly, one of Zoeva’s newest releases is their range of Strobe Gels (£11.00). These weightless highlighting gels are ideal for adding a touch of dewy luminescence to the complexion. The super lightweight gel formula is easy to use and blend, and comes in three wearable shades –

  • Halo – a pearl gel with silver shimmer for fair to light skin tones.
  • Corona – a peachy gel with rose gold shimmer for light to medium skin tones.
  • Aureole – a bronze gel with gold shimmer for medium to dark skin tones.

I really can’t get enough of these products right now, and if you’re stuck for gift ideas this Christmas, I highly recommend you check out Zoeva’s fantastic makeup and brush range.

The Plaisir Box is currently sold out in the UK, but available direct from Zoeva for £48.00, and the Strobe Gels and Lip products are all currently available at Beauty Bay.

Starting with the Calli Graphic Black Liquid Eyeliner – Inspired by classic calligraphy, the Calli Graphic Black Liquid Eyeliner promises to achieve pitch black definition – and it really does. The formula is amazingly well pigmented, and gives an intense matte black line. It also has a fine, flexible tip that’s easy to use.

Next the Cat Eye Pen Longlasting Stylo Liner – This is an ultra precise and long-lasting eyeliner pen, that provides smooth and easy application with a superfine and flexible brush tip. Mother’s Day Luxury Gift Ideas

Posted on March 2, 2016

luxury-mothers-day-gift-guide

Hi Guys!

Following on from my earlier Kate Spade New York gift guide, I’ve also put together a few luxury gift ideas covering fragrance, makeup and skincare to hopefully give you some inspiration for Mother’s Day…

luxury-mothers-day-gift-guide-beauty

luxury-mothers-day-gift-guide-pug-vase

Firstly, how could you not love this little guy! This is ‘Stevix’ as named by Freddy (I asked him if he meant ‘Stephen’ and he said ‘NO, Stevix!’ Fair enough.) And he’s definitely the closest we’re going to get to an actual dog in our little house! Stevix, is of course a sweet little hand painted pug vase, with the cutest grumpy face I’ve ever seen. He costs £45.00 and you can find him at Joy the Store on their home and gifts page.

luxury-mothers-day-gift-guide-perfumes

And what would Mother’s day be without perfume? I often buy perfume for my Mum, and they’re always very well received. I’ve gathered a selection of lovely fragrances today including three very different scents to suit different tastes –

Starting with Les Cocottes de Paris – La Belle Otero. This beautiful fragrance would suit vintage lovers, history buffs, and of course fans of niche fragrances.

La Belle Otero is actually one of a trio of fragrances from Les Cocottes de Paris – which are based on the lives of a group of extraordinary Parisian women born in the 1800’s. Crowned the ‘Queens of Paris’, the Cocottes entertained, seduced, and made headlines across the city. These scandalous icons were the inspiration for this new range of fragrances.

La Belle Otero (1868 – 1965) – The singing, dancing, pleasure seeking Agustina Otero Iglesias was born in Spain but it was in Paris that she found fame and fortune as her alter ego La Belle Otero. She soon grew to be the most sought after women in Europe and devoted her life to dancing, men, precious stones, gambling and parties…..(sounds like my kinda gal!) It’s no surprise then that her fragrance is an invitation to misbehave! La Belle Ottero has top notes of Neroli, Pepper, Absinthe, Fig and Ginger, heart notes of Violet, Musk, Lavender and Narcissus, and base notes of Frankincense, Sandalwood and Iris.

Les Cocottes de Paris are priced at £80.00 for 100ml EDP, from Cologne & Cotton 0845 262 2212.

luxury-mothers-day-gift-guide-dsquared2

For a more modern fragrance I’d highly recommend Dsquared2 Want (£71.00 for 100ml) This oriental floral scent is inspired by ‘The Multi-faceted Modern Woman’. Think feminine, yet gentle and strong, she’s also glamorous but edgy, spontanious and dynamic yet resourceful. Want aims to capture the many sides of the female personality, mixing confident sensuality with glamour and fine tailoring.

Dsquared2 Want includes top notes of Mandarin, Ginger and Pink Pepper, heart notes of velvety Rose Damascena, Heliotrope and Nerolito, and base notes of warm Vanilla Madagascar, Absolute of Vanilla Accord and rich Violet Wood.

luxury-mothers-day-gift-guide-trussardi

And the last of the fragrances – Trussardi My Scent (£73.00 for 100ml) This is a beautifully crisp floral fragrance, it’s a very girly and delicate scent, yet slightly unusual, evoking the essence of femininity.

My Scent is described as young, dynamic, and cosmopolitan. I’d say she’s more fun, flirty and outgoing though, perfect for fans of lilac and florals, My Scent has top notes of Nashi Pear and Smiling Flowers Bouquet, heart notes of Lilac and Rose Buds, and base notes of Serenolide, Cashmeran and Heliotrope.

luxury-mothers-day-gift-guide-lipstick

Now on to beauty! A fancy lipstick will always be a hit on Mother’s Day, so why not treat your mum to a bit of Charlotte Tilbury? The lipstick I’ve included is the gorgeous Matte Revolution Miss Kensington shade from the limited edition Norman Parkinson collection. I’ve just found out this is no longer available but if you love this beautiful nude rose nude, Bitch Perfect (£23.00) is a fantastic alternative.

Moving on to skincare, I had to include Pestle & Mortar Hydrate (£38.00) – I’m a big fan of Pestle & Mortar’s first product, their Pure Hyaluronic Serum, and their new moisturiser is just as fantastic. Suitable for all skin types, this lightweight moisturiser is formulated with a mixture of patented peptides to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Naturally moisturising ingredients, including jojoba and squalane instantly make skin softer and firmer while powerful antioxidants including pomegranate, green tea and Vitamin E help fight free radicals.

luxury-mothers-day-gift-guide-transformulas

For fans of face oils, Pixi Rose Oil Blend (£26.00) is a must have. It’s a luxurious, ultra-nourishing oil that promises to rejuvenate, restore and renews skin’s luminosity. It’s also infused with powerful youth-preserving oils to help improve skin’s elasticity, including Sweet almond, rosehip, jojoba, pomegranate seed, and rose geranium oils nourish the complexion, leaving it comforted & smooth to the touch.

And for those on the hunt for the ultimate eye cream, Transformulas Marine Miracle EyeZone Cream (£41.95) is definitely worth checking out. Apart from looking pretty awesome with it’s futuristic spherical chrome packaging, the Marine Mircale EyeZone Cream also promises to restore the condition of skin tissue around eyes (and lips) by feeding it with powerful, age-defying and ultra-concentrated aldavine.

It’s worth noting that this powerful ingredient has been proven in 100% of tests to visibly reduce dark circles and eye puffiness. It also works on wrinkles and fine lines leaving the complexion smoother and more comfortable with improved resilience and elasticity.

For nail polish fans, how about the Eve Snow Nail Polish in Blossom (£14.00) – Eve Snow isn’t the biggest nail polish brand out there, but don’t overlook them because of this. The Beautiful Blossom nail polish is a subtle muted pink with a hint of lavender, it also contains nourishing Marula Oil, Equisetum Extract and Vitamin B12.

And lastly, I had to include my favourite ever makeup brushes, the Zoeva Rose Gold Vol.2 Luxury Brushes (£56.95) – these brushes not only look beautiful, but they also work fantastically well. I love that the range is massive, including individual brushes as well as sets – and I should probably mention there’s also now a stunning Rose Gold Luxury Set Vol.3 out too!

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

This post contains press samples and items I bought myself.

The New Zoeva Spectrum Collection

Posted on February 24, 2016

zoeva-spectrum-collection-review

Hi Guys!

My love for Zoeva products has officially been revived with the release of their brand new range  – the Spectrum Collection.

The Spectrum Collection is a beautiful range of products including three eyeshadow palettes, in Warm, Neutral and Cool, and three blush palettes in Pink, Nude and Coral. Each palette is based on elements in nature, with the Warm palette (which I have) being inspired by ‘the spectacle of an erupting volcano.’

‘ZOEVA Warm Spectrum Eyshadow Palette blazes with matte and shimmering ash brown and rock gray shades from the depth of the earth, consumed by a lava-like flood of hot terra cotta based hues and dark mauve tints. Immerse yourself in an explosion of color and set your lids on fire – for dangerously hot and daring looks.’

The Warm palette includes a wide range of colours as well as finishes, and the eyeshadows feature Zoeva’s new ultra micronised formula, for ease of application and a seamless finish.

zoeva-spectrum-products

Up until now I’ve only had the pleasure of owning one Zoeva palette, which is to Rose Gold one. This is really is fantastic, and one of my go-to palettes, so I’m hoping the standard is just as high with the Warm Spectrum Palette. Let’s take a close up look at the shadows –

zoeva-spectrum-warm-palette-review

  • WR010 – A teal / brown duochrome.
  • WR020 – A muted light matte taupe.
  • WR030 – Intense matte black.
  • WR040 – Bright matte orange.
  • WR050 – Pearl shimmer muted rose pink.
  • WR060 – Matte chocolate brown.

The first two rows are a real eclectic mix! The first shadow has to be my favourite though, a brown and teal duochrome that’s buttery soft and looks stunning when it catches the light.

zoeva-spectrum-warm-palette-review-2

  • WR070 – Light peachy coral with shimmer.
  • WR080 – Warm muted mauve brown satin.
  • WR090 – Matte royal purple.
  • WR100 – Light nude cream matte.
  • WR110 – White satin.
  • WR120 – Caramel brown matte.

Again there’s a good mix of colours and finishes in the second two rows. WR070 is a gorgeous light peachy coral that instantly grabbed my attention, and WR080 is also a lovely, wearable shade.

zoeva-spectrum-warm-palette-review-3

(Bottom row only)

  • WR130 – Matte creamy white with pink undertones.
  • WR140 – Matte creamy white with yellow undertones.
  • WR150 – Light caramel with pearlised shimmer.

And lastly the bottom row. I’ve pictured it here with the row above it also, as from afar the lighter shades do look pretty similar – and I wanted to show you that they’re not! I’m obviously on a bit of a shimmer mission at the moment because I’m loving WR150, it’s a beautiful shimmery caramel that would suit most if not all skin tones.

zoeva-spectrum-blush-palette-review

The Blush Palette in Coral Spectrum is also a bit of a stunner. This contains four pans of varying shades of peach and coral, with both matte and satin finishes. Zoeva’s aim here was to capture beauty of lush, tropical reefs, revealing a fantastic array of fresh nuances ranging from light peach to coral pink. These blushers are super soft and easily buildable.

  • CR010 – Intense bright coral.
  • CR020 – Mid peachy pink.
  • CR030 – Warm peach with a golden shimmer.
  • CR040 – Light warm beige.

zoeva-new-rose-gold-brushes

Zoeva have also extended their Rose Gold Vol.2 brush range by adding a massive thirty beautiful rose gold individual brushes. I have three of them here (top to bottom) –

  • 221 Luxe Soft Crease Brush – This is a fantastic blending brush made with the finest natural-synthetic hair.
  • 222 Luxe All Over Shader Brush – This is a multi-functional eye shadow brush, allowing you to apply, blend and shade eye shadow onto the entire eyelid.
  • 231 Luxe Petite Crease Brush – Similar to the 221 brush, this petite version is also tapered into a point at the tip for creating a sharp cut crease.

zoeva-spectrum-palette-review

I really hoped I’d be impressed with these palettes, and I’m so pleased to say that I was. The Warm Spectrum palette has such a fantastic range of shades, you could create almost never-ending looks with this! The shadows are all well pigmented and easy to apply, and the shimmers and duo chrome pans really are superb. The Coral Spectrum blush palette is also a winner. The shades are all super pretty and perfect for a flush of colour on the cheeks.

The Spectrum palettes are £28.50, the blush palettes are £15.00, and the single rose gold brushes start from £6.50 at Beauty Bay.

I’d love to hear if you’ve tried any Zoeva products? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

I’ve tried to include a range of high and, luxury and just beautiful products to suit all beauty fans, focussing on eyes and lips – Enjoy xx

laura-mercier-eye-chromes-packaging

laura-mercier-eye-chromes-palette

First up I have the stunning limited edition Laura Mercier Eye Chromes Palette (£32.00)

What a beauty hey! Laura Mercier products are always gorgeous so there’s no surprise there. This palette contains four beautiful eyeshadow shades in Iced Nickel, Purple Chrome, Blue Steel and Aluminum Grey.

These gorgeous jewel colours would be perfect for anyone who loves a more intense statement eye. The shades shimmer in the light and have a a unique and innovative pigment emulsion which gives a stunning foil effect when applied dry. You can also apply them wet for a super intense high coverage metal chrome effect, with a soft velvety finish.

lipstick-queen-tom-ford-lipsticks

This Lipstick Queen lipstick is literally ‘lipstick heavean’ in every way. Just look at the casing! It’s packed full of shiny silver glitter, and it just says ‘Christmas!’ to me! Lipstick Queen All That Jazz collection (£24.00) contains four lipsticks with a silky, nourishing formula that gives a high shimmer molten metal finish. This shade is Paint The Town, a deep red with fuchsia pearls, and it’s just gorgeous.

I’m really loving darker red and mauve lip shades at the moment so I treated myself to this little Tom Ford beauty a few weeks ago. I’d been eyeing up the lipsticks on the Tom Ford counter for a while and finally thought I’d try a few out. I took the plunge and went for the Tom Ford Lip Colour in Moroccan Rouge (£38.00) – this is a beautiful deep plum with the slightest hint of shimmer. It’s wonderfully creamy and gives a lovely glossy finish.

zoeva-rose-gold-palette

And I had to include the beautiful, and not to mention affordable Zoeva Rose Golden Eyeshadow Palette (EUR17.50)

I picked this up with the Rose Gold 2 Brush Sets when they were first released as I was just drawn to the stunning warm shades. I can tell you they did not disappoint. The palette is large, with large round pans, and contains ten beautiful matte, metallic and satin shades.

Now I know this isn’t the most ‘wintery’ palette in the world, but it’s just so pretty, I think any beauty lover would be thrilled to open this on Christmas day!

chantecaille-compact

chantecaille-chrome-luxe-eye-duo

The Chantecaille Chrome Luxe Eye Duo (£48.00) is the perfect gift for any fan of luxury beauty.

I first became aware of Chantecaille a few years ago, when I treated myself to the Chantecaille Le Palette d’Olivia which cost me a pretty penny, but I didn’t mind because the quality was fantastic. Then pretty much straight away I managed to knock it off my coffee table, and most of the pans smashed. We don’t talk about that day…

Anyway, this sweet little Chantecaille duo is the perfect mini set to add to your makeup bag, it comes housed in high shine metallic gunmetal grey casing, with an internal mirror and two mini applicators. There are four different limited edition colour combinations to choose from, and I have Monte Carlo, which includes a pretty peachy pink and a warm mid brown shade. Both shadows have shimmer and offer a long wearing silky smooth stay-put application with a satin finish.

lipstick-queen

And I have another Lipstick Queen product for you, if you’re a fan of glosses this could be the perfect product for you – the Lipstick Queen Seven Deadly Sins Gloss (£22.00)

The new Seven Deadly Sins collection contains seven intense gloss shades that are super lightweight whilst being full of pigment. I have Anger, a bright fiery red-coral shade – it’s perfect for a glossy statement lip! The texture is super silky with no stickiness, and the formula is enriched with Vitamin E, Shea Butter and Moadowfoam for comfort and to help condition the lips.

And lastly, I’ve included a couple of fantastic lash products – Lancome Hypnose Volume A Porter Mascara (£22.50) and Shiseido Full Lash Serum (£35.00)

I’ve been using this lash serum for a little while now and I really do think it’s starting to improve my lashes. Just a bit of background info here, my lashes are super short, and fine, and straight, and just everything you don’t want your lashes to be. So if a product promises to help lengthen and volumise, then I want to try it! Shiseido’s Full Lash Serum is formulated with natural ingredients to stimulate the growth of hair follicle cells, whilst conditioning the hair to retain moisture, and restoring damaged or snapped lashes caused by mascara use. Fingers crossed I’ll have full fluttery lashes in no time!

And Lancome’s Hypnose Volume A Porter Mascara really does everything it’s supposed to, giving instant volume with a no flake formula. This is easily one of the best mascaras I’ve used recently. I use two or three coats to give volume, and I love that it doesn’t clump or feel heavy, and you can build it up as much you wish. This definitely gets top marks from me!

Zoeva Bon Voyage Travel Brush Set

Posted on August 20, 2015

zoeva-bon-voyage-brush-set

Hi Guys!

Now you know I’m a big fan of Zoeva brushes, when the Rose Gold Luxury Vol 2 Set was released, I bought pretty much everything, including the matching brush holders. And they were just so pretty I actually bought some extra ones just to use in the background of my blog photos – I must be mad! 🙂

One of Zoeva’s latest offerings is the lovely Bon Voyage Set

zoeva-bon-voyage-brush-set-review

This is a mini set of four full sized brushes, with their own makeup bag which can also be used as a clutch if you wish. The idea of the Bon Voyage Set is you have a set of essential brushes to cover makeup application basics, in a small enough bag that’s perfect for travel.

zoeva-bon-voyage-brush-set-bagzoeva-bon-voyage-brush-set-case

The bag is of course, beautiful. It’s made of a super high quality faux leather (I actually thought it was real leather to begin with and had to double check). It has a hot pink lining, with an interior zipped compartment, silver hard wear, and a silver Zoeva logo. This bag just oozes quality, and there’s something really nice about the chunky zip – it pulls really smoothly, like the zip on a designer handbag.

Anyway, I think I’ve drooled enough over the bag, let’s take a look at the brushes, which are made of both natural and synthetic fibres –

zoeva-125-stippling-brush

First up is the 125 Stippling Brush – this is designed to give an airbrushed finish to the application of your foundation. The brush head itself is made of shorter, finer black bristles, dispersed with longer, slightly thicker and firmer bristles specifically designed for stippling.

zoeva-129-cream-cheek-brush

Next is the 128 Cream Cheek Brush – this is perfect brush for cream and powder blush application. It has a slanted head, with super soft flexible bristles.

zoeva-228-crease-brush

And onto the eyes we have the 228 Luxe Crease Brush – this is designed for blending and shading eyeshadow in the crease. This brush is just the right size to get right into the crease for blending, with long and super soft bristles.

zoeva-227-detail-shader-brush

And lastly the 237 Detail Shader Brush – which is perfect for the detailed application of eyeshadow. This brush has a small, flat head, with short sturdy bristles.

What a gorgeous set, hey? I’d love to hear if you have any Zoeva brushes?

The Bon Voyage Brush Set is £30.95 and available now from Beauty Bay.

A Little Zoeva Haul…

Posted on March 21, 2015

zoeva-haul

Hi Guys!

I’ve had my eye on Zoeva brushes ever since I first discovered them. My first lusting was the original Rose Gold collection sets with the brown handles – I’m a sucker for anything rose gold. Then I heard they were recently releasing the Rose Gold Vol.2 sets, so I saved up my pennies for the release date, and then I stocked up!

I went for both sets, as well as the corresponding brush pots, the Rose Gold Eyeshdow Palette and also a fan brush which I wanted from the standard brush range. I ordered direct from the German Zoeva site, as it seemed to work out cheaper than in the UK, and my parcel also arrived the same week! (Also Germany is in the EU, so no import taxes or fees – result!)

The brush sets were EUR 70 each including the brush holders, which works out at just over £50 each, compared to the same sets which are £61.50 each from Love Makeup in the UK. Shipping on the German site was EUR 7.50 (£5.43) so it definitely worked out to be the cheaper option purchasing from there.

This may sound expensive, but with one set including eight brushes, and the other including twelve, they’re actually really good value for money, averaging out at just over a fiver each.

zoeva-rose-gold-brushes

The brushes are most definitely amazing – as expected. Apart from being beautiful to look at, they really are top quality too, the bristles are soft but firm, and they’re synthetic too in case you were wondering. I now have literally every eye brush a girl could ever want or need! The face brushes were slightly more limited so I also purchased a fan brush separately which I had my eye on. The sets also come in beautiful rose gold metallic leather cases, with shiny rose gold zips. The cases are fantastic quality too, so I’m now wondering what I can use them for!

I’ll briefly touch on the Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette, which at EUR 17.50 (£12.66) for ten good sized shadows is a complete bargain. I’ll being reviewing this separately though so you can get a good look at it.

I really can’t recommend these brushes enough, I’d love to hear what your favourite brushes are? xxx

Hi Guys!

I’ve just heard about the brand new Zoeva collection and I had to share!

I’ve had my eye on Zoeva brushes for a long time now, and I’ve been on their site adding brushes to my bag, taking them out and changing them, adding different ones, and just generally being unable to make a decision about which ones to go for! And I’m kind of glad I didn’t take the plunge yet because they’re launching a brand new rose gold collection at the end of February!

Ten Beauty Brands I Want To Try in 2015

Posted on December 28, 2014

beauty brands i want to try 2015

Hi Guys!

Well we’re now approaching the end of 2014 and I’ve been looking through all the amazing products (and some not so amazing) that I’ve tried out this year, and I realised there are still quite a few big brands I haven’t had the opportunity to try out yet. Whether it’s simply due to price, availability or any other reason I just haven’t got round to buying them. So I fought I’d put together a wish list of all the brands I’d really like to get my mitts on in 2015…

emma hardie

1. Emma Hardie. I’ve heard so many good things about Emma Hardie Skincare, it’s pretty expensive though so I’ve never gone ahead and bought anything. It turns out luckily I didn’t, as I was recently informed of a Grazia magazine subscription offer where they were giving away an amazing Emma Hardie set when you signed up, so of course I signed up straight away! I’m afraid this offer has ended now but it’s always worth keeping an eye out, some sub offers really are fantastic deals! I’ll write up the full details when the parcel arrives!

sunday riley

2. Sunday Riley – a not so well known, high end brand, which has recently been thrust into the limelight after Zoella’s mention of their Good Genes Treatment in her October Favourites Vlog. And I have to say Good Genes does really sound pretty amazing (as does their selection of face oils pictured above) but at £85.00 a bottle, ouch! This goes beyond the category of luxury skincare and firmly into the ‘probablyonlyifIwinthelottery’ category for me. That said, I would really like to try some Sunday Riley products out next year, so we’ll see… *reminder to self – must play lottery*

nyx cosmetics

3. NYX Cosmetics. Ahh finally an affordable brand I hear you cry! Well NYX has actually been on my radar for a while, but they don’t seem to be stocked in any chemist or department store or ANYWHERE near me! Arrgh! I know the predicts are really inexpensive, but I’d preferably like to try in store before I buy. Their Butter Glosses are top of my hit list so I need to find out where they’re stocked asap!

kiko water eyeshadow

4. Kiko Cosmetics. Ok so I do actually already own a Kiki Water Eyeshadow, pictured above, but I haven’t got round to using it yet – bad blogger! Kiko offer a massive range of affordable cosmetics that look and sound pretty special. I’m hoping to take a trip to their store next time I’n in London – fingers crossed this will early next year, so please let me know if you have any other recommendations for me!

trilogy products

5. Trilogy Products – this is another brand that I’ve been aware of for a long time, but I haven’t actually had a chance to try any products out yet. Trilogy is what I’d describe as ‘fairly expensive’ with prices starting from around £12.50 for a lip balm, up to £30+ for anti ageing products. I really like the sound of their Rosehip collection and their Replenishing Night Cream sound like it’s perfect for my dry and dehydrated skin. Again if you have any recommendations please let me know 🙂

zoeva brushes

6. Zoeva Brushes. Zoeva officially make the most beautiful brushes I’ve ever seen. With sleek black handles and rose gold finishing, what’s not to love!? I actually gave a set away last year, so I got to have a good look at them, and they really were the most amazing brushes I’ve ever seen. My mission for 2015 is to own my own set! (Zoeva has also recently released a new rose gold complete eye brush set… it will be mine!)

zoeva mixed metals palette_edited-1

7. Zoeva Cosmetics. On the subject of Zoeva, with their main focal point being the superior brushes they offer, their cosmetics often get over looked. They don’t have the biggest range of cosmetics on offer but they do sell some really lovely looking eyeshadow palettes, the Mixed Metals one above looks right up my street!

lorac pro palette

8. Lorac Cosmetics. Lorac are another brand famous for their fantastic eyeshadow palettes, namely the Pro Palette, and more recently the Mega Pro – which contains a massive 32 eyeshadow shades. Lorac is rarer than rocking horse poo in the UK, as there are no stockists here. It’s also not stocked at Sephora, and their US site doesn’t ship internationally – handy! You can however, purchase from Amazon, but it isn’t cheap. And when I say it isn’t cheap, I mean it’s crazy expensive!! I would really love a Lorac palette though, but only if I can somehow get one at a decent price.

marc jacobs beauty

9. Marc Jacobs Beauty. Another brand that we can’t get in the UK! Gah!! Marc Jacobs’ fairly new beauty line just looks amazing, the products look sleek and luxe in their glossy back and high shine silver packaging, and I just really can’t wait to try a few things out. I don’t even know what I want to try because all the products look so good! Marc Jacobs beauty is available from Sephora though, so I might treat myself for my birthday in June 🙂

bite beauty

10. Bite Beauty is another US brand available from Sephora. They sell a massive range of lip themed products, including lipsticks, glosses, lip liner, lip scrub and lip masks – everything your lips could ever want or need! Again I have no idea which product I’d actually like to try, except lipsticks of course! I may throw a couple in with my next Sephora order and see!

kat-von-d-palette

11. Kat Von D. (Ok so there’s actually eleven brands!!) I saw this Monarch Eyeshadow Palette on the Sephora site last year and was instantly attracted to the beautiful warm tones – it was love at first sight. Kat Von D is also famous for her foundation and lipstick ranges too, all of which are also on my wish list. The Monarch Eyeshadow Palette is currently $46.00 / £30.00 so it is on the expensive side… but it’s so pretty I really have to have it!

NB – a few of these brands, plus many others, are available at Roses Beauty Store, which is a UK importer of US cosmetics, I’ve used them before to purchase my Anastasia Contour Palette when it was out of stock everywhere, so I know they’re alright! They are expensive though, but if you’re desperately after something you can’t get your hands on in the UK, it’s worth checking out their site, and you can also make special product requests too 🙂

I’d love to hear which brands or products you’re hoping to try out in 2015?
