Lookfantastic March Beauty Box | Review
7 March, 2015Hi Guys!
You may remember this time last month my Lookfantastic beauty box review started a bit meh, and actually turned out quite positive. I’d originally decided not to buy any more boxes, but by the end of the post I’d changed my mind! Well as it turns out I actually forgot to order March’s box, but then Lookfantastic kindly offered to send me one for review – thanks guys! So let’s see what March’s box has to offer…
- Cowshed Lippy Cow Lip Balm, 12ml is £5.00 so 5ml is worth £2.91
- Lord & Berry Eyeliner Pencil, full size is £10 so travel size is worth about £5.00
- Wet Brush, £7.99
- NudeStix Magnetic Colour Eyeshadow Pencil, £24.00
- Bliss Fatgirlslim, 60ml £10.40
- Caudalie Polyphenol Anti Wrinkle Serum, 30ml is £35 so 10ml is worth £11.66
Total value = £61.96
This looks like a really interesting box, with a good variety of products so I’m looking forward to getting stuck in! One thing I wanted to mention though is the card you get in the box gives the value of the products, but it’s not always accurate, so for example it says the Cowshed Lip Balm is worth £5, but that’s actually the 12ml full size version, and the same goes for the Lord & Berry Eyeliner, they say it’s worth £10, but they’re referring to the full sized product, rather than the half size travel version you get in the box… just thought I’d give that a mention.
Anyway, this box contains six sample and full sized products covering makeup, skincare, and hair. I’m loving the variety! I’ve got lip balms coming out of my ears at the moment, but you can never have too many, right? The Cowshed Lippy Cow Lip Balm contains essential oils of linden blossom, rose geranium and ylang ylang. I’ve used it a couple of times and it’s actually a pretty decently balm!
The Lord & Berry Eyeliner Pencil is again another great product, the formula is super soft and silky and it glides on the eyes without tugging – the only thing is it does smudge easily, so this pencil would be great for a smokey eye look, but if you want a clean line, I wouldn’t try it with this pencil.
The Wet Brush is a tool for detangling thick curly or straight hair, wet or dry. My hair is very fine, so this doesn’t really appeal or apply to me – but the mini sized brush is a handy spare to keep in my bag. The next item is the Nudestix Magnetic Eye Color Pencil, I’ve never heard of Nudestix before and seeing the price tag is £24.00 I was very interested to try this pencil out. The formula appears to be a smooth, creamy pencil, that applies easily but then surprisingly sets really well too, and it actually doesn’t budge. I’ve tried this out on the back of my hand and on one eye (I’m multitasking ok!) and it really doesn’t move, even with rubbing! This pencil is also advised for oily lids, so if you have a problem with your eye makeup smudging and sinking into creases, you should definitely check the Nudestix pencils out.
Bliss Fatgirlslim is next. I’m not really sure what to make of the name to be honest, but this is a body firming cream that is supposed to make skin feel firmer and more toned with use. It’s a thick cream with a slightly minty scent and contains caffeine as it’s active ingredient, which I’ve read is supposed to ‘make fat cells shrink’. Hmm, this sounds very unlikely to me! I think you’d need to use this product every day for at least a few weeks to get an idea if it works or not, but you’d need at least another one or two of these small 60ml tubs to trial for that length of time.
And lastly the Caudiale Caudalie Polyphenol Anti Wrinkle Serum. I’m a big fan of serums so I’m glad I have another one to add to my collection! This is an anti-oxidant, anti-wrinkle concentrate that blocks free radicals whilst moisturising and plumping the skin. It’s enriched with hyaluronic acid and olive squalane, and in time promises visibly brighter skin and reduced fine lines and wrinkles. I’m looking forward to giving this a proper try, and I’ll report back soon!
Well I have to say I’m actually really impressed with March’s box, it contains a great range of products, most of which I’ll definitely use, so it get’s a big thumbs up from me!
Have you tried any of Lookfantastic’s beauty boxes? I hope you enjoyed my review xxx

I wouldn’t buy a beauty box as I like to buy things I want and will use. The fatgirlslim product is awful branding. Kinda surprised they got away with it. I do love a serum though and love Cowshed products
