Eye of Horus Nubian Brown Goddess Eyeliner Pencil Review

Eye of Horus Nubian Brown Goddess Eyeliner Pencil Review

When it comes to makeup, eyeliner is definitely the one item I cannot live without. I use it pretty much every day and I’m always on the quest to find the perfect eyeliner! Eye of Horus are a new eye makeup brand stocked by Cocktail Cosmetics, the *Eye of Horus Nubian Brown Goddess Pencil caught my eye with it’s interesting brand theme –

‘Representing regeneration, health and protection the Ancient Egyptian symbol of the Eye of Horus ensures healing, wisdom and prosperity for it’s bearer. Ancient Egyptians wore cosmetics for their magical powers and to ward off evil spirits. The Almond shaped eye resembles a Falcon Eye of the God of Horus who had magical protective powers.’

This eyeliner sounds perfect for me as I tend to suffer with sensitive skin and eyes –

‘Suffering from sensitive eyes and fine, brittle lashes we researched how the Aincent Egyptians used natural waxes and oils in their iconic beauty products. We used this aincent formula as a basis for our eye makeup range to provide products that are naturally based, non irritating, nourishing and great for sensitivities.’

The pencils are waterproof, smudge proof, paraben free, made with natural ingredients and not tested on animals. Here’s what I thought!

Eye of Horus

The Nubian Brown Goddess Pencil comes in a black box with metallic gold lettering, it looks and feels expensive. The product itself is double ended with the pencil at one end and a handy smudger at the other. The colour I have is a deep matte brown, I usually use black eyeliners so I’m looking forward to trying a different colour! The pencil draws nicely on the back of my hand, it feels smooth, there is no dragging of the skin, and the colour is deep and rich. The wax in the ingredients helps the pencil soften when it touches your skin so it glides easily. Interestingly enough this product can be removed simply with a clean cloth and warm water (the brand also offers a Microfibre Cloth Pack for removing their wax based products)

Eye of Horus Eyeliner

Overall I am very impressed with this product! It was easy to apply and remove, and was a lovely solid deep colour. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to test it on my eyes yet as I’m suffering badly with hayfever at the moment!
