Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder in Candlelight Review

Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder in Candlelight Review

Hi Guys!

Ok so I may have purchased a few Kevyn Aucoin bits – I’m in love with my Iconic Eyes Set and as soon as I bought it I couldn’t wait to try some more products out. You’ll have to wait and see to find out what the other things are 🙂 but here is the first – the Celestial Powder in Candlelight.

The Celestial Powder is definitely one of Kevyn Aucoin’s most popular products, it’s described as ‘A sublime and ethereal highlighter that adds a subtle highlighter to the skin’

‘This sheer, opalescent, champagne-colored powder works like a soft focus lens, blurring imperfections and accentuating your best features with an illuminating gleam. Applied over foundation, or bare skin, Candlelight highlights cheekbones and illuminates any areas that light would naturally strike. It can also be dusted all over the face for a pretty, ethereal glow that’s lightweight, subtle & sophisticated.’

So who wouldn’t actually want to try this product!? It sounds amazing and has positive reviews littered all over the internet! It does come at a price though, at £35 for 3.10g makes this a wallet clenching £11.29 per gram of powder, eek!

The powder itself is a gorgeous light champagne colour. It’s possibly the most finely milled powder I’ve ever used, it’s so silky smooth and soft, it’s almost unreal! Here’s a super close up so you can see the gorgeous colour.

When I stuck my finger in to swatch, I was like ‘wow!’ it really is amazingly soft!

I’ve added a couple of hand swatches so you can see how the powder looks in different lights. The best thing about this product is that it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It highlights without glitter or sparkle. You can build it up from a subtle glow to a stronger highlighted look wherever you want, so it’s really versatile.

Overall I’m really impressed with this Celestial Powder, and as many others have said, the only downfall is the price! At £35 it not going to be cheap in anyones opinion, but is it worth it?? I definitely think so. The selling point for me has to be the softness of the powder – and any product that makes me ‘glow’ without a hint sparkle gets a big thumbs up from me.

My next plan is to dig out my other highlighters so I can compare them all 🙂

I’d love to hear if you’ve tried any Kevyn Aucoin products? I hope you enjoyed my review xxx
